This vacuum and mop is absolutely perfect for tile floors! Our new home has tile on all of the downstairs and I was really dreading vacuuming and steaming the floors! This little gadget makes it so easy, not to mention how nasty my dirty water tank is after cleaning my floors.

Pros: Works great, cleans wood and throw rugs really well! Cons: small water tank and cleaning path. However, the PROS definitely outweigh the cons. Really easy to use.

Crazy - they get vacuumed all the time, but this is a whole different level of clean. We have a cat and a dog and I just used this to clean a 10x10 area rug and it picked up so much dirt and cat hair I was frankly shocked. Just seeing the dirty water container from the one rug makes me want to clean all our rugs now. Super easy to use with well thought out buttons, it's lightweight, but packs a ton of suction. I also really like the cleaning tray that you put it in after you are done - just add a little water and turn it back on and it automatically cleans the brush head (think paint roller).

We have 2 dogs that love to run around and get as dirty as they can. It's a constant struggle keep the wood floors clean, especially with all the rainy weather we've had this year. We bought the Bissell CrossWave several months ago, and it has made our lives much easier. Instead of pulling out the mop bucket or the expensive Swiffer (those pads are NOT cheap), we grab our CrossWave, clean the floors in about 2-3 minutes max, and are back to business as normal. We have only use the area rug cleaning twice so far. It's NOT like a steam cleaner quality clean, but it is perfectly fine for cleaning something like a newly created muddy paw print from one of our rugs. The price is a bit steep, but if you look at the long-term price when comparing this to having to pay $10 per box of Swiffer pads (1 box per week * 52 weeks = $520), this really is not that bad of a deal at all.

The Bissell Crosswave is perfect for those who don't like to mop (me). I love that the Crosswave vacuums and mops at the same time, doing two jobs at once. Also, it cleans the floor and sucks up the dirty water instead of moving it around like a mop. I have only used it on tile so far but they are noticeably cleaner after use. It doesn't do a deep cleaning but it is as good as a mop and perfect for maintaining your floors. Beyond tile, it works with hard wood floors, laminate, and even area rugs! Clean up is a little involved; you run the Crosswave on its storage tray with water for a few seconds to clean the roller and intake, then you remove the waste tank, remove hair strainer, empty waste tank, rinse everything off and let air dry. Despite the steps involved, it is fairly easy and doesn't take more then 5 minutes. I wish the waste tank was slightly larger, but I imagine that would of added unwanted bulk to the lightweight design. I am really pleased with the Crosswave and recommend it to those not just with pets but anyone who is looking for a better way to clean their floors!

This is my second CrossWave, first Pet Pro version. My first CrossWave lasted two days short of the two year warranty period. It is in the repair shop ready for pickup. I could NOT be without it for the 2-3 week repair time because I use the CrossWave at least 3 times a day to clean up tile floors from "liquid" spills and paw tracks from my four dogs. I also use it to clean hardwood floors once a week, and spot clean soiled areas on carpet. In short I use the heck out of my CrossWave! Just the thought of having to go back to using a old fashion mop and bucket make me nauseous and my back to ache. For those interested, the difference between the regular Crosswave and the more expensive Pet Pro version are as follows: color, longer 3-year warranty, supplied with tangle free cleaning roller (available for separate purchase for either model), and the lift out strainer in the Pet Pro version. I would recommend that anyone buying the Crosswave buy the Pet Pro version if they have animals that shed, or floors to clean in bathroom areas where we humans tend to shed. The removable strainer basket catches most of the hair that gets vacuumed up and is easy to lift out of the recovery tank and wipe the hair off of as compared to wiping the hair off of the inside of the recovery tank in the regular CrossWave model without the strainer. Before discovering the CrossWave, I purchased 3 of the less expensive Hoover "Floormate" tile and hardwood floor cleaners that all lasted about one year under my heavy use and did not do quite as good a job at cleaning the floors as the CrossWaves do. The Crosswave will allow you to always have clean shiny tile and hardwood floors. Just buy it!

The Bissel Crosswave multi-surface floor cleaner is easy to set up and easy to use. Cleaning a large ceramic tile kitchen floor is a breeze. Just select your floor surface type (hard floor or carpet), press the trigger to release the cleaning solution, and go. Release the trigger for vacuum only, to dry floors quickly. You may have to go over heavily soiled areas a second time. Pros: - The storage pan catches drips from the unit once you have finished cleaning. It also holds the funnel used to fill the cleaning solution tank. - The unit has a long cord, as well as a quick-release cord peg. - The Bissel is fairly quiet and emits less noise than a competitor's unit I have had for a couple of years. - Floors dry quickly if you run the unit over the area in vacuum only mode. Cons: - The two tanks are small, so for large areas you may need to empty the dirty water tank and refill the cleaning solution tank to finish the job. I give this unit at least a 4. It seems that none of the household units I have tested are truly heavy duty and capable of scrubbing the floor's grout clean. I will see how it performs on light carpet cleaning duties.

The BISSELL - CrossWave Pet Pro All-in-One Multi-Surface Cleaner truly can clean hard floors and carpets/rugs. From my usage of the BISSELL - CrossWave Pet Pro All-in-One Multi-Surface Cleaner, I find it to be a better vacuum than a hard floor cleaner. Constructing the BISSELL - CrossWave Pet Pro All-in-One Multi-Surface Cleaner was as easy as inserting the handle and clean water tank and then plugging it in the wall outlet. Cleaning hard floors or carpets/rugs is controlled by simply pressing the two buttons on the handle. One is for floors and the other is for carpets/rugs. Tremendous dirt is picked up by the BISSELL - CrossWave Pet Pro All-in-One Multi-Surface Cleaner. When I emptied the dirty water tank, it was semi-muddy. The suction is strong on carpets and rugs and really pulls in the dirt. Cleaning takes time to take apart the BISSELL - CrossWave Pet Pro All-in-One Multi-Surface Cleaner and rinse out all of the pieces. I prefer rinsing the brush out by pressure washing, instead of using the rinse and storage tray. I noticed after my hard floor dried that the cleanliness did not look uniform. It appeared that some parts of the floor looked streaky or cleaner in certain areas. The BISSELL - CrossWave Pet Pro All-in-One Multi-Surface Cleaner does not require floor rinsing so this might require thorough cleaning on dirtier floors. In spite of the few discrepancies, I still like the BISSELL - CrossWave Pet Pro All-in-One Multi-Surface Cleaner.

Very good at being both a vacuum and shampooing device. Does very good being a vacuum on dry seal wood floors, tiles and dense packed carpets but more difficult to vacuum thick soft carpets. I like it on wood floors and all type of tiles but cleanup of the brush roller and machine is a bit time consuming. With frequent use, cleanup of the device becomes quicker but still takes time. I feel a swiffer or swifter wet mop quicker to use and less time on cleaning the apparatus itself. It is mostly a plastic device but feels sturdy and being a multi purpose device, not overtly heavy. Easy to transport, very good cord length and on bare surfaces glides smoothly. Fluid spray is not excessive on tiles or wood floors and suction is excellent. The floor is dry depending on the solutions you use in under 5-6 minutes. No visible streaks on floors. On carpets that are not too thick and where the fibers are tightly packed, works well but can be difficult to glide once you apply the liquid solution. Drying is decent on this type of carpet, drys to feet in about 10-15 minutes. Mop and bucket can be back breaking and this is not...it is a must have for this reason. The true negative, not great on thick soft carpet fibers and unit cleaning is a bit tedious but you do get both a versatile vacuum device and shampoo device for all floors and densely packed carpets fibers. Setup is a breeze, less than 5 minutes, I used lukewarm to hot water as no built in water heater (not an issue). The filled solution on the device did my whole hall, various runners, kitchen rugs and the kitchen floor, and my living room floor with one container. I used both the included solution as well as other solutions from Mr. Clean to Murphy oil and so far the jets spray with no loss of spraying ability.

This multi-surface does a decent job cleaning floors and rugs - no complaint about its core functionality. But there are a few shortcomings that keep me from rating it higher. First, because it collects dirty water, it requires cleaning after every use, no matter whether it's a small or large job. This point probably applies to all appliances in this category, not just this one. And since most jobs are small, it's more work to clean the vacuum than it's to clean a small spill. If you're planning to use this as part of a regular routine or for large clean ups, then it makes sense to consider. Second, there is no edge cleaning. Deep corners, base boards, and other edges will have to be attacked with other tools. It has no attachments, even for dry vacuuming. Third, the trigger for releasing solution is badly placed. When pushing the vacuum around, it's easy for your fingers to slip to the trigger, releasing fluid when you don't mean to. Lastly, for lack of a better description, the overall feel of the appliance is clunky. The misplaced trigger above is one example. Another is it's easy to spill cleaning fluid when trying to pour it into the clean water tank because of the spout design. And once you fill the clean water tank, it's easy to cap it in a way that looks closed, but isn't. The result is water quickly leaks through the bottom and onto your floor. And finally, when emptying the dirty water tank, the strainer isn't snapped to the tank so if you forget it's there, it will fall out when you turn over the tank to pour out the water. Now imagine your kids or pets cause a mess and you're in a hurry to clean it up. When you're in a rush, you're less likely to pay attention to details like capping the tank properly, keeping hands away from the trigger, etc. You can argue this is all user error, but I think its overall design isn't good for when you're in a hurry. Certainly you'll remember all these details after a few uses, but its first time use could have been thought through better. As a result, I can only recommend this if you're planning to use this methodically.

One-Pass Cleaning for Floors and Rugs!

We have tile and hardwood flooring throughout the house, with throw rugs scattered here and there. And we have two dogs who, in addition to blanketing the house in fur, insist on bringing the yard back inside with them. Cleaning used to mean vacuuming the whole house to get up the fur and loose dirt, then mopping or steam cleaning the floors and spot cleaning the rugs. For us, all that changed with the Crosswave Pet Pro! One pass cleaning! It really is a vacuum and a scrubber in one. We just go over the floor like we're vacuuming. The cleaning solution is dispensed by holding the trigger while you vacuum, and it's sucked back into a separate dirty water container. And it's dirty! We were amazed at how much gunk it got off the tile floors. We also tried it on the rugs; as a dry vacuum it worked well, but it really shined as a rug shampoo, using the wet clean option. Setup was a breeze. It literally took us longer to get it out of the box than it did to get it clicked together to use. The instructions are clear and concise. The minuses are pretty minor. - It's a touch slower than just vacuuming because it doesn't have the storage capacity our vacuum has; you have to empty it more, and of course, refill the cleaner every couple of rooms. We'll probably continue to use a vacuum for the light traffic areas and use the Bissell for the heavier traffic areas. - The cleaning procedure (recommended after each use) is a little involved. We found it easier to just pull out the tanks and roller and rinse them out in the sink. If you have a critter around the house, the Bissell Crosswave Pet Pro really is a must buy. Not only is it an effective cleaner, it's a real time saver. We were very happily surprised at how well it worked.

Cleans Thoroughly, But Not Without Issues

This was used on hard floor. It works on area rugs as well, and it could yield different results, but this was not tested. Mopping is laborious, and having to travel back and forth between a sink and the area I'm working on to clean and wet the mop gets tedious. I've used other methods, but they all largely result in not being versatile enough for cleaning hard floors. After giving this product a go, I found mopping can be done better, though it does have some issues that could be easily addressed. The CrossWave Pet Pro is a very simple tool to use. It has two settings-area rug and hard floor-and works just like a vacuum cleaner. It's easy to push and pull, and the swivel is a great addition for better maneuverability. To start, you add solution (this comes with two small bottles) and water to the clean tank. Then it's ready to go. I used this on vinyl floor, one of which is frequented by dogs, and this left them looking clean and shiny. The brush roll cleans deep and thorough, and it dries fast. It really is a great brush! But while it gives great results, the cleaning and clean-up process can sometimes be frustrating. The manual says to spray the solution when moving forward as well as backward. I found that a regular mop is faster in wetting an area than the CrossWave Pet Pro, as it seems to eject a small amount of solution in lengthy intervals. I'll often move forward and backward and still not see any of the rolled surface wet. It's better to go slower, both when wetting and drying. The brush roll keeps itself pretty dry most of the time, as the vacuum is taking in all the liquid. This is what allows it to dry the floor fast. Sometimes the solution seems to leak though, and I'll have to go over an area again to get it to where it'll dry faster. But if you don't mind waiting for an area to dry slow, there is little need to go over areas again to get them dry, since it'sn't a severe leak. The swivel could be wider for tighter spaces and areas. Don't expect this to get into any corners or within about half an inch to an inch of any wall-it fails to reach in this regard, and you'll have to do clean it another way. The clean-up is overall easy to do, but it takes a while. I actually enjoy cleaning the brush roll. Place the cleaner on the parking tray, pour in some water, and turn the cleaner on. The dirty tank has a strainer for hair and other dirt debris, which I find great. You'll have to clean the tank, cover, and strainer. It's good to check the filter, too. All these pieces will need to air dry before putting it all back together. Again, easy to do, but it can take some time compared to other cleaning methods. I'd love to give this a perfect rating, but ultimately it's having to go over some areas again due to it not getting wet, as well as not reaching certain areas along walls and in corners that I'm unable to give it that. When it does clean, it's very thorough, and it works great for people with messy pets. The messier they are, the better this will clean. But a product designed for cleaning not allowing me to clean the entirety of an area and sometimes causing some frustration for not wetting when it should isn't good. I'd still recommend this product, but you'll need more than this to clean an entire area.
