Great Cordless Pet Vacuum
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've used a number of cordless vacuums over the past few years, and will say the Bissell ICONpet Handheld/Stick vacuum has become my go to handheld vacuum for around the house and boat. I was really excited to get this vacuum as we recently purchased a boat and plan to live aboard as much as possible. With limited space for storing a full size vacuum and the cordless option on this unit, the ICONpet 2288 is a perfect option. Included in the box is the vacuum assembly, extension wand and motorized floor cleaning foot, a battery charger, wall storage hanger, lighted crevice tool and the motorized TurboBrush tool. Setup is straight forward as the extended cleaning foot, crevice tool and TurboBrush tool all connect/disconnect with an easy click into the vacuum assembly. This is the easiest option assembly I've experienced between all of the big name stick vacuum manufacturers. The directions state the battery should be charged for 4 hours before first use. I like the in body battery option as the unit just needs to be plugged into the charger cord vs. having to swap out a battery. Once it was charged for 4+ hours, I started out with the full length floor cleaning attachment to get the majority of my home office space. The unit is a good size to get in any tight spots and has multiple LED lights to show the way in darker areas. With a simple click I switched out to the TurboBrush tool to hit all the couches and chairs. At this point the dirt tank needed to be emptied. We have an Australian Shepherd and although she is groomed regularly, her hair is EVERYWHERE in the house and boat! The dirt tank quickly pops off the main unit and then the top of the dirt canister needs to be (somewhat forcibly) pulled out to be able to empty the tank. To re-install, just push the filter back into the canister and line up the arrows. Lastly, I connected the crevice cleaning tool and hit all of the crevices in the furniture and the stairs. There is also an LED light on this tool, which is great when cleaning tight spots. This unit can turn from the crevice tool into a dusting brush by pulling the end of the tool or pushing it back. Pretty cool since you don't need to keep track of all sorts of adapters. At this point, the battery was down to 1/3 battery life. Not bad considering it had been used for about 15 minutes of use. At this point, I figured it would make sense to keep going and see how long the battery would go. I headed out to the boat and started in the galley area. The 1/3 battery lasted for another 6-8 minutes with the crevice tool attachment installed. Not to bad, was able to clean my entire home office area and a good section of the boat on a single charge. I have since been able to clean the entire (40' sailboat) on a single charge. Pros: - Solid construction and ease of use. - Great sucking power, easily pulled dog hair off of furniture and out of the rugs. - Easy to change attachments with just a click. - Multiple handle angles depending on the configuration and light and easy to maneuver. - LED lighted floor vacuum and crevice tool - Ease of cleaning the dirt tank - Portable size yet still powerful and full-featured Cons: - Nitpicking here, but the dirt tank seemed a bit small when using a standard stick vacuum. Overall, the Bissell ICONpet Handheld/Stick Vacuum is a great option for anyone looking for a versatile vacuum in a small and powerful package.

It's ok
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A decent cordless vacuum which comes with a few extras. Includes a motorized upholstery brush and a wallmount which others often charge extra for. Does a decent job and fits into tighter spaces than a full size corded vacuum. Also much lighter and more convenient than corded vacs. The wallmount also stores the crevice/brush tool and upholstery brush. Has 3 power levels which is a nice feature for more delicate dusting. You can use the lower levels for prevent damaging items or sucking up things you don't want to. Works great on bare floors. Could be a bit more maneuverable on thick shag carpets. Emptying the dust cup could be a bit more convenient but not too bad. Mine seems to leak a bit at the connections but it may have needed emptying. Good for quick cleanups but probably won't replace your corded vac unless you have a small place.

Awesome for small spaces
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Bissell ICONpet cordless is great with small jobs. Dry spills in the kitchen? No problem. Stairs? Done. Dog hair on/dust bunnies under the couch? Gone! The combination of light weight, cordless operation, easy-to-change tools and the swivel head make it a very convenient and versatile tool. The dust cup is push-button simple to remove and easy to clean out. I like the idea of the wall storage & charger, but haven't put it up yet. I can't convince my wife that this vacuum is wall art, even for the laundry room. Our main floor is about 1,200 sf, and the battery will do it all on medium speed and not run out. I think the Bissell - ICONpet cordless would make a perfect small apartment or dorm appliance. The only negatives I can say? It doesn't have the deep-cleaning power of its corded cousins and does not leave the lines in the carpet I've come to identify with a fresh vacuum. It is perfect for quick cleanups, and we're very happy with it.

Nice handheld with a few shortcomings...
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall I have been impressed with this handheld cordless when comparing to the Shark one that I had previously. One key thing I liked about this one vs. my Shark was that this one came with the wall mount/charging pieces. My Shark did not come with a way to mount this on the wall so when not in use I have to be sure it is stored somewhere my kids won't knock it over or mess with it. This vacuum has good suction compared to the other handhelds we have used over the years. We have about 1500 sq ft of rubber vinyl flooring that looks like wood laminate so this works great to get hair off the floor. It is also good to pickup various pieces of food or crumbs that my kids somehow manage to leave all over the downstairs. It is also easy to maneuver around tables/chairs/couch when using it and the light on the front is a nice addition if you are in a part of the house without a lot of light and don't feel like turning the lights on to see everything. Some of the shortcomings that I have found though is you need to be aware that this thing does not stand up on its own very well. If it is not on the charging mount then you will need to make sure it is leaning against something or you risk it falling over and landing on the floor. It definitely has more weight to it than other handhelds we have owned so don't expect it to be feather-light. That said the dust canister/collecting canister isn't the thickest by any means so a few falls to the floor and I can easily see how the plastic could crack or break completely. If you can handle the fact it is top heavy and are aware not to let it fall over to protect it then it is a great little handheld for those with pets or kids or both but for the regular price you can probably find a lighter more durable handled to use but if you grab on sale for $299 then it is probably better than the others in that range.

Perfect Vacuum if you Have Cats
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Assembly out of the box is straight forward and took just a few minutes to get it put together and powered on. The Vacuum comes with a brush/wand attachment and a motorized pet brush for sofas and chairs. It also has a floor brush that works good on carpet but really shines on hardwood floors. The LED lights on the floor brush highlight how dirty your floors are but also how well the vacuum actually removes said dirt and dander from the floor. The motor, wand, and brush are easy enough to hold and use one handed. The power and mode buttons are readily within thumb reach and ramp up the power depending on the job at hand. Everything easily snaps together and just as easily apart for fast swapping of attachments for different cleaning surfaces. The dust cup and filter pull apart so the cup can be emptied. The cup holds a lot for its size but it’s still a bit small, which is ok, because it keeps the size petite enough you don’t feel the fatigue of using it. Once emptied, the filter slides back into the dust cup. Snap the dust collection assembly back onto the vacuum and it’s back into action. I have 4 cats, all indoor, two of which are long hair. We vacuum and vacuum often to help keep the dander down, especially since I’m every so slightly allergic to cats. That’s what makes this vacuum so great. I can grab it off the included wall mount, vacuum the sofas, chairs, swap out to the floor attachment and tidy up the living room and hallways. The battery on the lower settings is more than enough to hash out a quick run through the common areas. The only concern is when you hit carpet and need to use the higher setting to really pull the dander out of the fabric. I find that I don’t quite get the battery time I did when cleaning the hardwood floors and furniture. All things considered, my allergies haven’t been as bad, my clothes pick up less hair and dander from the sofas. I find myself reaching for it more often because I don’t have to mess with the hassle of a cord. The only thing that concerns me is having an internal battery. When it comes time to replace an aging battery, will the cost offset just buying a new unit, and how often will they need to be replaced? Only time will tell, but that doesn’t take anything away yet of making this a fantastic vacuum if you have pets.

Very handy and capable tool
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is your great vacuum for those quick clean up situations (battery life goes for 30 minutes). Well designed, sturdy, not flimsy, all clicks in well. There are two motorized rotary brushes (wider one and a smaller one) plus two in one crevice device that can be used on both carpets and on hard surfaces (by adjusting the tip). You get an extender if you want to either clean the floor standing or reach out up high. The extender works well with all three attachments. We have the dog staircase covered in fabric that accumulates dry grass from our dogs’ feet and this vacuum had no problem cleaning it up. I found it also very handy when cleaning up the inside of the car and the trunk. The large brush swivels which helps with cleaning the floor when twists and turns are needed. There are three speeds to choose from. Overall very happy so far, a great addition to my other cleaning tools. Already have one Bissell cleaner which has been working well, looking forward towards many years of great service with my new Iconpet cordless vacuum.

Great for Small Areas
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The vacuum is relatviely quiet and picks up dirt and pet hair pretty well. However, the short time for battery life means you need to charge after each use.
