    Not just for pet owners

The Bissell JetScrub carpet cleaner isn't just for pet owners. It's for anyone who has carpets or area rugs. It's not as heavy duty as some other carpet cleaners, but the trade off is that it's easy to get out and set up for small jobs or a quick cleaning of heavily used areas. My pet peeve when setting up a new product is the lack of clear instructions. I hate having to go 4 places to find everything I need. The Bissell instruction booklet had everything I needed in one place and it was clearly written in good English with good pictures. Assembly was super easy. All I had to do was snap the handle onto the main unit and press a button to extend it. There is a cord hook to keep the section of the cord closest to the machine off the floor when in use. The cord wrap has “quick release” so that by turning a knob all the cord unwinds in one step. The clean and dirty water tanks and the nozzle all snap on and off without any effort. There are marks on the side of the clean water tank showing how much water and cleaner to add. The nozzle lights up when the spray trigger is engaged. The machine is lightweight and easy to maneuver. The coolest part is the rinse/storage tray. When done, the machine is put on the tray and some water added to the base. Running the machine for 10 - 15 seconds draws the water into the machine and cleans it for storage. I still needed to remove the nozzle and use the clean out tool to get the last of the lint out, but it was nothing compared to cleaning the older model. First I used it on the Express Clean setting. One tank (6.5 cups) of cleaning solution lasted for the equivalent of 3 rooms. However, following the instructions (2 passes on spray and 2 passes on suction), I only got 1.5 cups of very dirty water back out in the dirty water container - meaning most of it stayed in the carpet. I tried making additional passes on suction but did not get any more solution out of the carpet. When used on the Deep Clean setting, it used one tank of solution per room. This time I did the forward and back (2) passes on spray as in the directions, but did multiple passes on suction - until no more foam showed in the nozzle head. That time I got 2.5 cups of dirty water out, which must be the expected amount since it came up to the fill line on the container. If the fill line is exceeded, a float in the tank shuts off the suction so that the tank can’t overflow. I went back over the areas cleaned on the Express Clean setting to see how well it had cleaned, and the water was moderately dirty still. The Bissell JetScrub is light enough to be used on stairs. I don’t have stairs so I didn't try it, but the handle can be retracted and there is a grip above the nozzle that can be used to maneuver the machine. I feel like Bissell took all the customer input they received over the years and built it into the JetScrub carpet cleaner. I have an older full-size Bissell carpet cleaner and the JetScrub addresses all the issues I have with it - the biggest being that it requires a lot of effort to set up and use, so I just get it out once or twice a year. The JetScrub can be used almost as easily as a vacuum cleaner. The only thing I would add is a signal (red light on the nozzle?) when the cleaning solution runs out. It is a fairly small tank and I went through it pretty quickly in the Deep Clean mode. I did notice that when the tank went dry, there was a slight change in the pitch of the machine’s noise so maybe that was my signal.

The Bissel Jetscrub is a must have for those that have pets and small area rugs or living space to clean. This carpet cleaner is the perfect size and is very light weight. That alone makes this cleaner worthwhile. We have another large carpet cleaner and it gets the job done but it is so cumbersome compared to this Bissell. Assembly is a no brainer with just having to attach the handle that extends. It also comes with a storage/cleaning tray that is very handy and practical. The express cleaning mode seems to work really well with the drying time reduced which is a plus for those knowing how long it takes for carpet to dry. The spot cleaning is also helpful along with the compact size to make quick messes disappear without the dreaded thought of getting a monstrous carpet cleaner out and then the after cleaning of the machine itself. The Bissell makes cleaning and maintenance a breeze, The only drawback to the compact size is the water reservoir is much smaller requiring more refills if you are doing a large room and empties also. But that is not a major issue knowing that me or my wife can easily carry this around to complete the job. Also wish it had some add on attachments for tight cleaning or furniture. But all in all worth the buy and we are very happy thus far. Time will tell how the durability of the machine is.

We have had between 2 and 4 cats in our house the five years we've lived in it. While not extremely messy, they have done their fair share of not trying to keep the carpets and rugs clean. We have had other smaller hand-held spot scrubbers, but those didn't exactly work the best. We've always been fans of Bissel carpet cleaners, having two full size uprights over the last 15-20 years. We are now glad to have the JetScript Pet Lightweight as a choice for quick cleanings, when sometimes just using the spray and hand-scrub carpet cleaner just isn't enough. One of the many great features of the JetScript Pet Lightweight is the size. It isn't as big as a full size, but it isn’t too small. The weight is just right (there is a reason Lightweight is included in the name). It is easy to maneuver, even when cleaning an entire room. The handle design is nice, with having the right angle for using, and the connecting edges are smooth, so it won't be cutting into your hand while using. On top, there are three buttons: Deep Clean, Express Clean and CleanShot. The Express Clean will use less water/solution than the Deep Clean, and the will dry much faster (1 hour or less). Underneath is the trigger to squeeze while using the Deep Clean or Express Clean modes. The handle is retractable, so you can lower it and store it easier in small places (like the overly crowded hall closet). The brush roll is one that is as good or even better that some full size upright cleans, with the number of rows and the bristle designs. And it works very well! I had cleaned a room that the cats spend more time in than we do (which had not been cleaned in the 5 years mentioned, being new carpet), and it removed so much fur and dirt (we didn't realize there was so much there). Now, while it can somewhat easily clean full areas, it doesn't exactly have a large dirty water tank, nor the water/solution tank. While cleaning the previously mentioned room (a 12x11 room that has a full size bed, using Deep Clean mode), the dirty water take had to be emptied 4 times total, and it took a little under 2.25 water/solution tanks. So, if you want to do the entire house, it can be done, but it will take a lot more effort with the emptying and refiling of the tanks. Maybe, if cleaning more often, then it may not be as bad with using the Express Clean mode. Oh, and the motor will go into a higher sound when the dirty water tank is full and it is time to empty. For cleaning smaller stain/spots, the CleanShot button (near the cleaning mode button) will shoot a stream of water/solution from the top-center of the nozzle, to help soak any areas as necessary. There are also lighting on the front, with some always-on lights for assisting with seeing your path. Then, there are lights that come on when you are spraying the water/formula mix. And the "wish all carpet cleaner had this" feature that we really like is the storage/cleaning/drying tray. No more parking the cleaner on a spread out trash bag for a few days while it dries. It has spots to hold the brush and the nozzle to dry after you rinse it out. There is a nice feature of the tray that isn't mentioned in the user guide is the nozzle path cleanout. You'll pour water in the area indicated and watch as it fills up near the front below the nozzle. When ready, just turn on the cleaner and it will suck the clean water up to heal clear out the nozzle and suction path to the tank. There is also a nozzle and brush clean-out tool. One thing we are looking to get is the Hard Surface Brush Roll related Hard Surface Nozzle as we do have quite a bit of hard surface throughout downstairs (tile and wood), and would like to be able to get a really good cleaning on occasion (normally use manuals scrub pad mops).

Anytime you have a "Wet Vac" carpet cleaner, you always feel like it has to be a chore and that it requires ample time be set aside to complete the task. Not with this wonderful little device. Let me paint a picture... We have two children a teen boy, a preteen girl, we also have a medium size border collie lab mix (30+ pounds) and a full-blooded great Pyrenees (130+ pounds) that are primarily inside animals and we have no restrictions on rooms they can go in or furniture they are or are not allowed on, same for the dogs lol. Needless to say, we know stains of all varieties and some that we still are not sure what variety they are. We have a carpet cleaner but as mentioned we too fall into the same ideology that it is going to be such a headache it can wait. Well by the time you wait the stain has set and is that much harder to come out. With the Bissell JetScrub I have found that I can immediately react to stains with professional power. Just on the first day of testing the unit out my son spilled an orange sports drink on our beige carpets which from previous experience & knowledge I know leaves either a blatant color difference or a ring stain. Normally, we would have blotted it dry with a towel and then the next time we thought about it we would have tried to get the carpet cleaner after it. This time I was able to get right after it with the JetScrub and PetPro cleaning solution since it has Oxy in it. Within minutes about the same amount of time we would have used to dry it up, the spill and stain were gone. After about an hour the carpet was dry and has no signs of the spill. The product says 30 minutes, but I have found it takes a bit longer; probably me putting too much water or solution. The unit is light enough, easy enough to use, and simple enough to clean afterwards that my little girl gets to now clean up after her Pyrenees (we all love him, but it is 100% her dog) with it anytime he tracks mud, food, or who knows what else into and around the house. I am incredibly pleased with the look, build quality, power, and ease of use.

The carpet cleaner already comes together in the box so it was very easy to assemble. The only thing I had to put together was the handle which clicks on right away and makes it ready to go. It came with two cleaning solutions & a cleaning nozzle. The cleaning solution seems like it’ll last a while since the tank is mainly all water with only a couple ounces of it. It is very light and easy to move around. Once on, it was quiet which is always a plus because no one likes loud machines especially if you live in an apartment complex with neighbors downstairs. You do however have to stay on the spot you want cleaned for a few seconds before it actually takes the stains out. Once done, you can smell the cleanliness from the solution that it comes with so instead of your carpet smelling wet and humid, it’ll smell nice and fresh and it doesn’t let out too much water either so your carpet stays nice and clean and not too wet to walk on. There’s a spot cleaner on the machine which you can conveniently use while operating it. It basically sprays the solution in a small area in front of the carpet cleaner for a more concentrated approach. This was the cherry on top. Once I was done with the cleaner, I placed it on the rinse and storage tray that it came with to keep any extra water from getting on the rug, rolled the cord around the little hook attached to the machine and placed it in a corner. The machine is quite small so it easy to fit anywhere without it taking too much space. I love it!

A great cleaning for small areas

Having a home with 7 dogs, I have always had a “spot cleaner” for small pet accidents, and a much larger carpet cleaner for larger areas. My last spot cleaner was a sit and wait kind of machine, that only had the capacity to clean a small “spot” area. This was my dive into the “JetScrub” cleaners from Bissell and was excited to see how well this would perform. Inside the box you will find a manual, the carpet cleaner in two pieces, two water tanks, two sample sized carpet cleaning solution bottles, a tray for the cleaner to sit on when not in use, a small fill cup, and a small wedge tool to help clean out the brush area. Unboxing was super easy, with minimal assembly required and no tools needed to put it all together. The water/solution tank is easy to remove and reseat, with small markings to show you how much water and solution to fill. There are three different modes that this can be used for: light cleaning, deep cleaning, and spot cleaning with the front spray nozzle. Filling the water and solution into the tank is easy, with only one opening to fill, versus the separate tanks found on many cleaners. The tank is even compatible with “easy fill” bottles that Bissell sells from various retailers but are not included in the package to try out. The two sample bottles are enough for a few light cleanings but are just your standard pour bottles. I’d recommend picking up your favorite cleaning solution for larger area cleaning with this machine. The machine is easy to use, with small LED “headlights” that automatically come on when powered on, making the cleaning area easily visible. The buttons on the handle area easily pressed, and immediately begin performing the task at hand, with a spot cleaning button for more stubborn messes. I found this worked better than the stationary spot cleaner I was used to, and the spot cleaning nozzle on the front does a great job of lifting messes off carpet. While the machine states it can be used for hard floors, I would not recommend it be used on tile flooring. I did not find it work as well on my tile floors (12x12 inch tile), with the brushes not making even contact on the smooth tile surface. However, for most general uses on carpets and spots this will work wonders. There are also no hand tools or hoses with this smaller unit, if you find the need to use one. While the machine is tough on spots with the front nozzle, you will find that the nozzle will keep you from cleaning up on an edge. However, cleaning from the side of the machine will solve most of this frustration when cleaning near low lying furniture or along a wall. The included manual does not reference (outside of stating it is included), the black tray that comes packaged which can be used to hold the machine and the fill cup, but I am sure it can be used for some other purpose. Cleaning the unit is also easy, as the brush cover (clear plastic) is easily removed to clean the brush area and the tank does a great job capturing almost anything that is vacuumed up. Where this will not shine is larger cleaning areas, which will require more time filling the machine with water, compared to a full size cleaner. While this is great from homes with minimal carpet area or rugs, this will likely be more frustrating for those who have larger areas they want to clean in one or two passes. Overall, for those with pets that have a pet accident in random spots, this is a great investment. You do not need to worry about filling a larger machine, wasting solution, or wasting larger amounts of water. The spot cleaning is some of the best I have ever experienced with a carpet cleaner, effectively cleaning more stubborn spots, and the included solution means you can start cleaning once assembled.

    Powerful Little Carpet Cleaner

The number one reason I really like this carpet cleaner is because it fills a nice solid niche between the handheld sized ones and the big bulky ones, both of which I’ve bought and used in the past. The smaller, portable handheld ones may do a good job, but only on the smallest stains and spills, and even then it felt like such a chore to lug it out, get it ready, clean up the spill/stain, then clean it/rinse it out after I was done. But it was better than getting out our big, bulky, heavy carpet cleaner just to clean up a little stain—that one we would use to clean our carpets and rooms thoroughly just every so often. However, this Bissell is a handy dandy lil’ carpet cleaner that’s a perfect compromise between the two extremes, great for smaller living situations such as condos, apartments, townhouses, and houses which aren’t filled with wall-to-wall carpeting (such as ones that have mostly wood flooring, linoleum, tile, etc. and have area rugs, or only certain rooms have carpeting—that’s my living situation). It’s really lightweight, so it’s basically just like using the handheld carpet cleaners; it even has a collapsible handle so you can store it in a tight space. It’s easy to prep, use, and best of all, it’s also easy to clean up after use (and that’s the part I hate the most, so extra kudos there). It’s as powerful as the big bulky carpet cleaners that are so heavy and cumbersome. I tried it on various food stains (most notably spilled coffee, milk, juice, melted chocolate and the most terrifying of all—tomato sauce) and it worked every time. I have a light beige carpet—everything shows, so I know it worked for sure. I would definitely recommend getting this instead of a handheld and a big heavy duty carpet cleaner together—it comfortably fills both needs for small to average-sized living spaces.

I have a full-size carpet shampoo machine and use it 2-3 times per year. Occasionally, I’ve spilt something that requires more than just spot spray, water, and a rag. In comes the Bissell JetScrub Pet Lightweight Upright Carpet Cleaner! I really hated having to lug out a heavy machine, fill and rinse the tank and lug it back into storage. This Bissell unit is less than 14lbs. It’s light enough for my mom to use for quick cleanups or possibly a single room or hallway. I don’t think it would be good for an entire house. You’d probably have to add and change the water quite often, but for a quick or small job, it’s wonderful. So, what do I like about the unit? I love that it has tons of bristles or brush, whichever you call it. As I mentioned, it’s light. Not so light that it feels cheap or unable to last, but light enough to grab it and carry it over to a spill or work area. I also like the long cord and the one thing most manufacturers fail to add, but Bissell didn’t on this unit, the clip to hold the cord up by the handle. It’s such a small plastic add on, but it helps not have to tape or tie the cord up and out of the way. The CleanShot nozzle that you can pretreat a stain in your path works well and the LED lights are great in a dark area or if you like working in the dark, lol! The box includes the unit, a nozzle cleaning wand, a wash base for rinsing the unit after using it, and a small bottle of Pet Pro Oxy Urine Eliminator. Putting it together was a snap…no, really. You just snap the handle onto the extension post, raise the post and wind up the cord. Done! As for cleanup, the nozzle and brush roller remove easily, and the tray makes clean up easier. Run the unit to rinse the waste tank and brush and you’re ready for the next mess.

Essential carpet cleaner for pet owners

The Bissell Jetscrub carpet cleaner is a perfect companion to my regular vacuum cleaner. Especially for wet messes (whether caused by a pet or not) this works really good to lift off dirt and stain. Since it’s a wet-type cleaner, I was afraid it would be bulky and difficult to move around, but the thing is lighter even than a lot of small vacuums. Setup is easy - you just attach the handle into the main unit. Then fill up the Clean Water Tank with water (and cleaning formula) and you’re ready to do some deep cleaning. All the buttons/controls are cleverly placed and the LED lights in the front makes checking on the messy carpet areas easy to target. The cleaning mechanism is made of a nozzle and a roller brush. The dirty water gets caught in the Dirty Water Tank at the front, which also has a filter. The brush is well designed and doesn’t get tangled up a lot. And cleaning the brush and the nozzle is also well thought out - there’s a storage tray that can be used to rinse the Jetscrub before more thorough cleaning is required. Along with that cleaning cycle and emptying the dirty water tank, I had to do a more intense cleaning every other time. The nozzle and brush can be lifted off in a second and some warm water rinsing does the rest of the job. Overall, I’m really happy with the Jetscrub. It worked really well to clean some accidents my pet dog had on our carpet. The overall ergonomics is good, and the storage tray cleaning system is very convenient. Along with the fact that it’s lightweight and slim makes is a must have for any pet owners who are worried about their carpeted house. Highly recommended.

    Great Little Carpet Cleaner!

This is a very nice and well made little carpet cleaner. It was incredibly easy to use and did a really good job cleaning my rugs throughout the house. It is really light and easy to maneuver, cleans well without soaking the carpet, and pulled out any stain I threw at it. It did have a little trouble with high pile rugs, but it just took some practice to get it not to shut off on me. In the box: Bissell provides the cleaner, a stand, a sample bottle of cleaner, adn a nozzle cleaning tool in the box. The stand was a really neat addition to the cleaner, because it catches al the excess water that drips out of the cleaner after you use it. I had never thought of this problem before until I realized how great this stand is. Nice little added benefit of this cleaner. The provided shampoo works great, it smells really good and did a great job pulling up stains. Use: I used the cleaner to shampoo my high pile rugs in my living room and bedroom. At first it had a little trouble and kept shutting off, I'm guessing because the motor thought it was jammed on the rug. Once it stopped spinning the only way I could figure out how to get it going again was to unplug it. After the first few times though I figured out how to maneuver the cleaner and was able to get all my rugs shampooed in no time. Filling up the tank was easy, there are markings on the container to tell you exactly how much water and cleaner to add, taking all the guess work out. The carpets looked great after using and got all the stains out that my two large dogs leave all over everything. This really is a nice compact cleaner that does just as good of a job as the bigger cleaners. If you have pets and need a good carpet cleaner this is the one to get. Bissell knows carpet and they do it right with this cleaner.

The cleaner had passed the challenges offered by our artistic first-grader, a half-potty-trained toddler, and a heavy shedding canine. The stains of paint and playdoh came off pretty easily. I did not pre-soak the stains as recommended resulting in some faint residual patches that I plan to tackle next time. The carpet smells fresh again and will hopefully remain that way, now that the toddler has fewer accidents. The dog fur challenge was the biggest surprise. The cleaner managed to pull out fur from between the carpet threads and left wet balls of fur which I could easily pick up and throw away. The fur was my major problem and I am extremely satisfied with the results. Unlike the bigger carpet washer/cleaners, the lightness of this model makes it easier for regular use. Usually, carpet cleaning is a weekend chore for my family involving making plans of keeping kids and animals off the carpet. This can be used for quick and dirty jobs every time there is a mess and it dries up the carpet pretty fast. The "express clean" setting indicates just that. Though I tried the deep clean setting this time, I will probably end up using the express clean quite frequently. I totally loved the stowing tray. What a brilliant idea when the machine needs to dry after use without leaving a puddle underneath. The water tank has markings for water and solution levels. You do not really need the measuring cup. The tiny foot icon to ease the upright position is neat. I liked that the settings buttons are same as on/off button. Just makes things easier. After the job was done, I was sweetly surprised to find that the roller at the bottom actually came off so easily. I was able to clean all the fur and hair. Full score for after-use ease of cleaning. It took me a little time to figure out how to wound the cord. The flip up and down clamp that holds the cord was not intuitive. Overall, this is a great carpet cleaner which will give you negligible (for the average man) and moderate (average woman) upper arm exercise without killing your back or shoulders.

We have 3 dogs, so you can imagine my excitement when this arrived! The Jet Scrub pet upright carpet cleaner has some neat features. First of all, it’s less than 14lbs, it has LED headlights that help spotlight stains, the “cleanshot” pre-treater applies a concentrated amount of cleaning solution to remove stains. Assembly was super quick and easy all I had to do was snap in the handle which also happens to be collapsible which allows it to be easy to store and carry up and down stairs. I thought it was cool that the power brush called the XL dirtlifter has 10 rows of bristles versus the 5 that my old carpet cleaner had, so that maximizes it’s scrubbing power. It came with 1 bottle of PET PRO OXY urine Eliminator formula which was nice. I did go out and buy a bigger bottle as this was not enough for the jobs around my house. Once you are done using it, cleaning the machine is super easy and quick. The parts come out which include the brush roll, nozzle, and dirty water tank. You can clean and rinse the parts in the sink, once you allow the parts to air dry reassembly is simple. Another bonus is the storage tray, that has a storage spot for each piece, and this promotes compact storage. The tray can also be used to clean the machine if water is applied to the tray, personally it was just easier to rinse the parts in the sink. I liked how well it worked. I appreciated how lightweight it was, which made it easier to do our stairs. The few downfalls I found include: 1. If you are doing a large area or multiple spots (like I did) I had to refill the clean water reservoir with cleaning solution multiple times, so having to start and stop was a little annoying. 2. The box claims if you use the Express clean mode the carpet should dry in 30 minutes, it took longer in my experience but that may be my fault honestly as I was figuring it out and may have applied too much fluid initially.
