Bissell ProHeat - What a Clean Performance!

I opened up the box with the Bissell Little Green ProHeat Handheld Deep Cleaner inside. There were simple directions located conveniently on an open flap for putting accessories and tools on the Bissell ProHeat cleaner. It was really easy and took no time at all. Also included is a complete pamphlet with directions. I have to say, it is a sharp looking, high tech product, with the green and black accents. Every tool and attachment piece fit really well on the Bissell ProHeat unit. It was surprisingly light and the large handle on top made it easy to carry. The cord is really long so you can go quite the distance without having to plug in over and over. • There are two 48 oz tanks. One tank that is labeled clean for putting hot tap water along with the cleaning solution (small sample in box). The tank shows how much solution plus water it should take for cleaning small areas or larger areas. The heat from the hot tap water tank has plenty of powerful cleaning with the solution. • The other tank collects all the dirt, stains, debris and liquid from the first tank. • The cord is 15ft long so reaching an area is not a problem with the Bissell ProHeat unit. The weight of the unit is only 9.3 lbs and obviously gets heavier when the tank is full of hot tap water. It also has a solid build so it won’t move around while cleaning surfaces, like carpet or upholstery (even car upholstery). • The tools included are the 3 in 1 stair handle, the powerful tough stain brush handle and the Hydrorinse self cleaning tool (snapped the self cleaning tool to the handle of the unit). The 3 in 1 tool performs on each stair the front semi-circular edge. The corners are a snap to clean and the brush itself instantly cleans the surfaces. The powerful stain brush handle is better for scrubbing out spills and debris. Don’t scrub too hard, you don’t want to damage the area you are cleaning. Lastly the Hydrorinse self cleaning tool flushes trapped water through the hose to clean it. After that a simple wipe down and it will dry out. • So now the clean tank is filled with water and solution for cleaning. Using the power clean handle, and turning the unit on, I sprayed over the stained area. In this case I cleaned half a small rug that was in the garage. I wanted to see how dirty the rug was so I clean only one side. You need to be careful with how much water and solution you put on the stain. The solution/water comes out pretty fast. If you run out of the cleaning solution visit your local Bestbuy to get another bottle. • First I turned the Bissell ProHeat unit on after spraying the half of the left side of the small rug, I let the solution soak in for about 4-5 minutes. Then I turned on the Bissell ProHeat unit again. I went in a motion perpendicular, back and forth, across the 3 inch power stain brush. I vacuumed up the water/solution, debris and stains. I let the left side of the rug set dry. There was a stark difference from the left side I cleaned compared to the right side which I didn’t clean. Not much cleaning solution is needed so the bottle should last a lot more than a few removing stains. • I dumped the clean tank first and dried it out. Then the other tank I emptied and rinsed out the used water and solution in the sink. I did the best I could to dry it right away but you may need to let set out to dry before attaching it back to the unit. • I took a picture of the rug’s left and right side. The left side of the rug’s color returned, the nap of the rug had debris removed, and overall left side had more pop to it. The right side was still dull and matted down. I am very pleased how the clean (left) side differed from the unclean (right) side. The Bissell ProHeat made all the difference in cleaning up the left of half of the small rug. If you have some tough stains, debris, or spills that just sit around your home, try the Bissell ProHeat to lift them from the carpet, upholstery, stairs or like me, a small rug. With a 15ft cord and a 48 oz clean tank put the right amount of cleaning solution in the tank which is marked on its side. This sturdy and simple but effective machine does what it is supposed to do. And that is to help you keep your home clean and stain free!

Being a pet owner of 3 dachshunds I encounter little messes almost daily. I used to have to spray the carpet scrub it let it dry, then call a major company every 3 months to come do a cleaning. No More! BISSELL - Little Green ProHeat Handheld Deep Cleaner steps up to the plate to clean up those spills, and messes! I put this cleaner through its paces. First thing I noticed right of the start is that it is lightweight. It took 6 simple steps to get running and the user manual was very easy to read and go through. The tanks are easy to fill and empty when you are cleaning. The tanks are 37 oz so can do a fair amount of cleaning for stains and spots as you are not looking to do large scale rooms with this. I tested the deep cleaner on dog urine, wine stain on couch and dirt on Crème color carpet. Test1: Dog Urine I used Bissel Stain removal pack and used the deep stain tool. I highly recommend keeping the tool in direct contact with the carpet as to not spray everywhere. The stain was lifted and left no acidic yellow residue behind and after drying 3 days later looked like nothing ever happened. Test 2: Wine Stain I also used the pretreatment and let it set for 5-10 minutes before cleaning it. I popped on the 3/3” tool and went to work. I cleaned it twice leaving about a 30 min gap between the cleanings and couch looks great just took long time to dry. * make sure to use the mist solution as it helps Test 3: The dreaded walk path dirt buildup. I was skeptical of this one area because of how impacted it is and the dirt gets deep in there. After pretreating the area and doing my first cleaning, I didn’t notice a big difference. But I thought maybe another round will help and I let it set overnight. Woke up I could tell it had changed shades of color but nothing drastic to the point I was in disbelief. So, I purchased the Bissel Oxy formula for the portable cleaners, did the pre treatment again and WOW it looks about 75% better than before. This impressed me as this little portable machine was able to handle this cleaning job! My final take is the tanks are adequate for the small jobs, but wont last long trying to do anything more than a few spots and areas. I found this product to work perfectly for Area rugs, Pet Beds, Stairs Furniture and carpet such as low pile (not shag length). The build quality is great and comes with a 2-year warranty which makes me happy because I will be using it a lot! So, if you are in the market for a portable cleaner then this is the product you’re looking for! Pet mess approved!

Reliable & Quick, Wherever You Need It

I always wanted some kind of carpet cleaner but never wanted to spend money on the big machine because of storage space and money. I always thought it would be a bit overkill too because any messes we ever would or do have, it's always small. My biggest reason for considering this was we have two cats that like any normal household, create a stain here and there for one reason or another. Mostly I wanted something to help with their vomit. We let them hang out in the backyard where they enjoy rolling around on the patio and hanging out on the grass. They tend to pick up a lot of pollen and such and even though I clean and groom them as much as I can they lick it up while grooming and tend to get upset stomachs. We ourselves might spill a bit of coffee or something or get grease/oil on clothes when cooking as well. Whatever it is, it's always significantly small. We would normally just use shout and a bunch of paper towels but the process was always a bit tedious and the spot wouldn't always be perfect and would still be slightly noticeable that something occurred in that spot.. This device finally seemed to check off all the right boxes. Initially I was worried it was going to be complicated to use. I never used anything like this before so I wasn't sure what to expect. The directions were simple, to the point and easy to follow however which left me confident. I had several not too recent spots the cats vomited where most we previously tried to clean but didn't get a complete job and then one where we missed an area on the stairs. We also had a couple of poo stains from when our second cat was a kitten a year ago. Our older cat also vomited on top of the couch some time ago and although while we cleaned it, it still had an occasional digested dry food smell that came from the spot. That same cat wanted to be helpful so she just so happened to give me some fresh vomit to clean, too which oddly enough saying I was excited for. Finally, I figured we would try to get the stain out of the front seats of my wife's car. I also wonder if it could be used for tough stains on some clothing but I wasn't able to test that before writing this review. For the positives: I only filled up the tank until the small cleanup setting and considering the small amount of solution I needed I did feel like I was able to do a lot with it. I still had a good amount left over. For small quick cleanups in the future I'm hoping I can make figure out the right ratio and make much less. Between the hose and cord you get a nice 20 ft reach. While other models may have more attachments, I don't see why you can't get away with using the two it comes with for everything. You stick one on the hose, the extra on the spare slot (not the most secure though) and the self cleaning one sticks right on the hose. I love when a product has everything it needs together and I don't need to keep the box full of all the extra stuff I probably won't ever use. It's not really that heavy at all and is very portable indeed. Cleaning is also as easy as just rinsing everything. For my results: It took care of the old vomit spots well. I was specifically happy I got to use the stair attachment which did work well. The couple of poo spots not as much but certainly much better than they were. I'm not sure if I may need a different solution for that but all I had was the sample that it comes with. For the fresh vomit it cleaned it like a champ. For the car seats (cloth like material), the solution seemed to just soak into it, left it damp for a long time and not do too much so that didn't work which was disappointing. I don't believe it said it was meant for cars anywhere but figured if it could do furniture upholstery it could maybe do cars. Finally, I'm happy to say it DID remove the smell from my couch. These are some cons and things I found worth noting: The spray nozzle is a bit erratic. Even when you aim close it may go way past where you want it to go if you aren't angled right. A lot seems to hit the back of the attachments too which then kinda drips off wherever as well as it may drip from the nozzle itself. Had to wipe down a wall and the car console because of this. Not that it's too big a deal but this thing is as loud as any normal vacuum. I didn't expect that although it isn't an issue however this may be an issue to others. I also thought it would suck up more moisture than it does, so I still felt like I needed to soak up the remainder with paper towels as much as I could. You will need to let the place dry before walking on it. Lastly, I find it a bit much that they have 5 different solutions. Why not one for pets and one for all other use? At least they seem pretty inexpensive but to buy and store multiple bottles of solution is a foreseen hindrance if you need separate ones for different jobs. In the end I do think this device was a worthy solution for my situation. While the cats make enough messes, once we have children it will probably be more of use which I was counting on. I do think it will take care of large enough spots to make getting a full carpet clean not necessary unless you need it for specific reasons or at the very least put off needing one. It's priced pretty well for what it does and if you have a lot of stains to clean up I'd consider a device like this which would probably save you both time and money in the long run.

I needed a small carpet cleaner to follow up on some pet stains. My cat has been vomiting lately and leaving food colored stains on my rug, and unfortunately, hand scrubbing wasn't getting the job done. This is where the Little Green ProHeat Handheld Deep Cleaner comes in to save the day. I woke up this morning to find that it was time to pull this thing out of the box as the cat had left his mark upon the carpet once again. Setting this thing up was super simple - there were seven total pieces, including the main unit itself. Two attachments, and three organizing pieces (Cord holder, hose holder, and an attachment holder). All pieces securely snap into the main unit and are keyed to only fit in the proper spot. Also included was a small sample bottle of the Bissel cleaning solution plus Oxy. From the time I opened the box to the time I was ready to start fighting stains was about 5 minutes. Down to what really matters - how well did it get the stain out of my beige carpet? The included 3" scrubbing/extraction attachment worked well and was easy to use, and the process is essentially foolproof common sense. Following the instructions that advised a 5 minute pre-treat by spraying the solution from the wand, waiting, then performing the scrub/extraction process essentially eliminated the stain. I attribute this to both the performance of the unit as well as the quality of the included cleaning solution. Even hours later after the spot had dried, there was no trace of the stain. One note - it uses a remarkably small amount of water/cleaning solution. I thought for sure I had to fill the reservoir to the larger amount of water, but the smaller fill line would have sufficed and still left plenty of cleaning solution left over. All in all, this unit really delivers. In reality, a lot of the stains that a household is going to run into are smaller in nature and will require a spot cleaning rather than dragging out larger equipment that is better suited to cleaning an entire carpet rather than spot cleaning. It's compact and fits perfectly in the bottom of the linen closet - and the ease of use encourages immediate stain treatment.

This device is actually thinner than I had expected. I almost expected it to have more of a rounded shape, like a shop vac. It's about 4.5" x 12" x 15" and weighs in at just over 9lbs. A pretty convenient size for storing in the closet, and small enough to carry around, but still get the job done. The motor is 3 amps, which delivers enough suction to pick up most of the treated area, leaving a damp clean surface. I am including a before and after picture of a couch cushion, that my kids had managed to yuck up. As you can see from the pics, the treated area came out nice and clean. Cleaning took about 1 minute, just a few quick passes back and forth with the suction brush. (it took approximately 2 to 3 hours to fully dry the remaining damp area, on it's own) This comes with an attachment for general cleaning, and a 3 sided stair cleaning tool, that rotates to keep the suction on one edge. the first side is flat similar to the standard tool, but the other 2 sides are actually pretty helpful with more than just stairs. the second side has bristles and suction in a concave half circle, to go around edges of stairs, cushions or chairs, etc.. and the third side has bristles and suction in a protruding triangle shape, to help you get deep into angled spots, like where the stairs butt together, or along angled edges on your furniture, or in your vehicle. it even comes with a self cleaning head, that redirects the clean soapy water back into the suction hose, for a quick easy clean up of the machine. With a 15ft power cord, and 4,5ft hose, searching for a close enough outlet to your spills or stains should not be a problem. Plus the integrated heater will keep your cleaning mix nice and warm, while you work. Keep in mind that the heater only heats the tank, not the hose, so if you are waiting long intervals to spray the cleaning solution, it will probably be cold, even though the tank is still warm. Also, keep in mind this is just a spot or small job cleaner. Bissell offers a ton of different cleaning machines and solutions for any situation. So while this might not have the same suction as the more powerful uprights, for the size, and conveniences, this is a very effective machine, and does a great job.

The Bissell Little Green ProHeat Handheld Deep Cleaner is great for those times when you need to clean up a small spot on the carpet, but you don’t want to drag out the full-size floor cleaner. My wife and I are big fans of our Bissell upright steam cleaner, but that’s overkill when we just need to clean up a small spot. That’s where the Little Green comes in. There’s just a little bit of setup to do before you can use the Little Green, but it’s mainly just getting the onboard storage for the hose and power cord in place. Once that’s done, you’re ready to go. Using the Little Green is incredibly easy. All you have to do is remove the fill tank, fill with water to the indicated line, then add cleaner until it reaches the next line. One thing that’s interesting about this tool is that it doesn’t have a switch that lets you spray water only. Since the cleaner is mixed with the water, whenever you’re spraying water, you’re spraying cleaner. Using the included sample of cleaner, that didn’t seem to be a problem, but I can see why it would be important to use a cleaner that didn’t foam up a lot. Alternately, you could empty out the fill tank and use only water, but this would be an extra step. The performance of the Little Green was acceptable, but not amazing. It’s easy to change tools on the end of the hose, and there’s even a very cleverly designed tool for cleaning carpeted stairs. The tools have a built-in brush that you use to scrub the carpet, and this works well. I was a little disappointed with the suction, and it took quite a while for me to suck up enough water to consider myself done. Overall, I thought it left the carpet wetter than I would have expected. The suction was definitely better pulling it back versus pushing it forward. Cleanup is pretty easy. The dirty tank has a small plug that the instructions say should be removed when emptying. However, emptying the tank that way is slow and not as thorough. Instead, unscrew the float mechanism in the middle of the tank, remove it, and you can now easily empty and rinse the tank. I’m not sure why anyone would want to empty and rinse the tank using just that small, inefficient opening. For small spots, the Little Green is a great tool. It’s really not practical to use over a large floor, but as a quick spot remover, it works very well. Its size also makes it a great tool for cleaning the upholstery in your car, something that an upright carpet cleaner just can’t do very well. Overall, I really liked the Little Green. Stronger suction and the ability to spray water only would have really made the Little Green a great machine. As it is, it’s a very nice tool that’s convenient for small jobs, especially when a full-sized tool would be too bulky. If you have pets and don’t have something like this, you should really check this out. If you already have a full-sized machine, this isn’t a “must have”, but it is certainly a convenient option to have around.

If you're looking for a steam/hot water cleaning device for small messes on your carpet, this a great device. Lightweight for a carpet cleaner overall, and holds enough to get messy spots clean. Right off, it has a long extension cord, 15', so you can access spots far away from plugs and into a room. The unit has a few parts that snap on to hold the cleaning devices, cords, and vacuum tube. Just push the pieces in to the correct slots, it's easy to set up. You get 2 cleaning attachments, a regular hand held carpet cleaner, and one for stairs with 3 options. Both have easy to remove covers so you can clean the insides if needed. The sides of the device hold the clean water/formula mixture, and the dirty recovered water. The clean tank opens on the top and has lines marking were to fill with water and cleaning solution. There are markings for small and large jobs. The dirty side has a release on the top side you open to drain the dirty water out. The cleaning solution is sprayed out from the under the handle towards the brushes. Then you have the brushes and the suction. The brushes work, you just may have to scrub hard, it's a manual cleaning and it worked fine for me. Sometimes you just have to scrub harder. The suction was pretty good. Not a lot of spray comes out, it’s not needed, and the suction gets most of it, the carpet is slightly damp but not wet when done. There is a clear window/release button on the top of the attachments to check for clogs. It’s easy to use. The stair cleaner is interesting, it is a flat, edge, and corner cleaner all in one. The head is a triangle for each of the mentioned cleaning configurations. You rotate the head, and which ever side is down is the one cleaning. This allows you to get in to tight spaces on stairs with no problems. Not as powerful as the regular cleaning tool, but makes the sides and corners easy to get to and clean. When done cleaning, there is a self-cleaning attachment for the hose to rinse it out when needed. This is not for large jobs or rooms. For spot cleaning it’s great, portable, and gets the job done. At the regular price point, you are either in the high end of the spot cleaners like this one, or the low end of whole room carpet cleaners. If you only need to clean spots and messes, this is the device you want.

I've always used carpet cleaner with a rag so figured I would upgrade to a device that was actually meant to take care of these messes. I started testing this thing almost immediately after receiving as I have quite a bit of messes... I mean testing areas. So how did it do? Well I was able to remove all but one stain from my carpets. I was able to remove colored marker, food/drink stains, dirt, and who knows what else from my off-white carpet. Honestly the one stain it couldn't get out I really didn't expect it to. But it did help make it look a bit less noticeable. I also used it in my vehicles upholstery and floors. It made my carpets look like new in there. So I would say this ended up being a pretty big success. I found for older stains if you first spraying the spot and leaving it for a min or two worked better than just going over it immediately. Really what it comes down to is the cleaning solution with scrubbing. Each of the two extensions have sturdy red bristles and the key to getting out the set in stains is using them to scrub. Also if you lift the main device off the floor while your using it you will get more suction power as the vents are at the bottom. I found that the large water line was able to do a lot of cleaning so if you only have a few small spots, you will only need to use fill to the first water line. If you have a lot of cleaning to do or if your cleaning vehicles, use the larger water fill line. Pros: Small enough that it can fit on a shelf easily Comes with two cleaning attachments The stair attachment has three different built in options Comes with a trial bottle of cleaning solution which can be used multiple times Does a great job of cleaning small and large spots Vacuum has a lot of suction Cord is pretty long Cons: Dirty water tank hole could be bigger for emptying and rinsing out A bit noisy when running In all its a very handy and useful tool to add to my arsenal. Does a great job. If you have pets or kids and have carpet I feel like this is a must.

Great Spot Cleaner for Light Duty Cleaning

Based upon my use of this Bissell SPOTCLEAN LITTLE GREEN PROHEAT Carpet & Upholstery Cleaner Model 2513G, I give it a 3 out of 5 stars. I found the assembly of the product very easy to follow per instructions provided. This product has the ability for the use of a total of 7 different cleaning head attachments which only 2 are provided with the product. This particular product came with a 3" Touch Stain Tool and a 3-N-1 Star Tool. Other attachments are available per the manufacturers website. I tested this product on two residual pet/cat stains whereas normal blotting and hand cleaning failed to remove all the stain. Much to my surprise of just waiting 5 minutes after applying the spay mixure and light scrubbing using the 3" Touch Stain Tool the two spots were completely removed! At this point I was at a 5 out of 5 star review with the following information dropping it to 3 out of 5 stars. In my situation my primary use of this product would be for the use of pet stains. Knowing the main type of cat pet stains is for the clean-up of hair-balls this product does not come with the much needed Stain Trapper Tool. Looking at the manufacturer's website this one cleaning head costs 1/2 the total cost of the product itself. Not having this Stain Trapper Tool would require me to manually clean most of the solid stain residue by hand before using the product. This was not my intent for the use of a carpet and upholstery spot cleaner. Now I am at a 3.5 out of 5 star rating. The last 1/2 star deduction lies with the inability to have the clean water/solution tank dry in a timely manner. The opening of the tank is very small and recessed not allowing all the water to completely drain out of the tank. This required manual evaporation of the clean water/solution tank which took 36 hours. In summary, this is a great product for the removal of small liquid only stains. If you have the regular need to cleans stains having a semi-solid base, just know you will be required to invest in the Stain Trapper Tool. Be patent in letting all the parts dry before putting away especially with the clean water tank.

As the title states, this is an efficient portable and powerful carpet and upholstery cleaner, very light but at the same time feels sturdy and perfect size to carry everywhere and most of all, easy to maneuver inside the car and cleaning the seats. It is designed to work on those tough stains, that are located in not easy to reach places, but it is not for large areas. This is what is included: • Carpet cleaner • 3" tough stain tool • 3-in-1 stair tool • HydroRinse Self-Cleaning hose tool • Professional Spot & Stain + Oxy 8-oz. trial size formula • User Guide The assembly is almost intuitive, however is better to take a look to the user guide, which is not going to take more than 5 min between following the instructions and figure how to set up. You will find two reservoirs on the sides of the device, one holds the clean water where you add the formula mixture, and the other is the dirty recovered water. The clean tank has lines marking were to fill with water and cleaning solution for small or large jobs. The mix water/cleaning solution is sprayed out from under the handle towards the brushes. The suction is very powerful, you can see the water being suctioned through a clear window that is on top of the attachment tool. My unit came with 2 cleaning tools, one call it 3” Tough Stain and the 3 in 1 Stair tool. The first one does the job pretty well when you have really hard stains, the second one is more for a delicate surface and it is very easy to use, it is a flat, edge, and corner cleaner all in one. The head has the shape of a triangle that you can rotate to choose the best cleaning option so you can clean tight spaces or corners. And finally there is a self-cleaning attachment for the hose to rinse it out. The portability is a great pro, but another one is that is not too noise as the other units that I have had. The term "ProHeat", although it doesn't actually heat the water, but what it does is to help to maintain water temperature. The convenient size makes it easy to store on a shelf, in a closet or cabinet. The unit and the tools are also easy to clean . One thing that I noticed was that the suction engine is at the base, so it is better to locate the unit in a flat area, so the air can circulate freely, I wouldn’t recommend to place the unit on a carpet, for example. I don’t see any cons on this unit, I really like it and I would recommend it without hesitation.

    Decent portable steam cleaner...

The Bissell Little Green Pro Heat is a decent steam cleaner, with a few minor setbacks. Right out of the box, the set up is very simple and straight forward. The vacuum is pretty small, It definitely holds true to it’s name as a portable vacuum. Included in the box are all the main parts needed for it to work, as well as 2 different cleaning heads and a sample bottle of the Bissell pro cleaner. I decided to try it out on my couch first, to get rid of a few stains. The spray nozzle is pretty nice and does a good job at soaking down the desired spot. Once you spray the solution, then you start to brush and vacuum it up. I was having issues with the nozzle leaking while I was vacuuming, not sure why but it was kind of an issue. After about 5 minutes of a steady clean, I figured that was enough and turned it off. The vacuum did a nice job cleaning the couch, as it removed the minor dirt stain. The next spot I tried it on, was a few dirt spots on the carpet. I sprayed the desired spots, then proceeded to clean. This time, I was not as impressed. The spots still showed on the carpet, even after a thorough clean. Not to mention, I was still having an issue with water leaking out of the top of the nozzle. I tried a few more different spots, and had the same results. I wasn’t very impressed with the turnout of the carpet. After I was all done vacuuming, now comes time to dispose of the excess liquid and wash out the Bissell. They made this very simple and painless, which is nice, because the last thing I want to do after cleaning, is clean some more. Overall, the Bissell does a good job on furniture, as well as stairs. It could’ve been a little better on the carpet stains, but I guess that would require a full fledged carpet steamer. The portability makes it easy to cary around, as well as reach smaller spaces. I’m not sure if my unit has a defect, but the leaking was a nuisance. Nothing major, just a couple of drops hear and there. I am surprised and a little disappointed that the manufacture didn’t add the auto cord wind up feature, but I guess that has to do with the portability of the vacuum. Other than the few minor issues, I still think this is very useful tool. I would recommend this to anyone who has carpet stairs and cloth surfaces that need to be detailed.

The BISSELL - Little Green ProHeat Portable Carpet Cleaner is a powerful little cleaner that really comes in handy when you need to clean spills, spots, stains, and in my case, carpeted stairs. My home is three stories with two full sets of carpeted stairs. Vacuuming the stairs is difficult and vacuuming doesn’t really do a good job of deeply cleaning the carpets anyways. As a result, the carpet on my stairs always seemed to look dirty and until now, I wasn’t really able to do anything about it. Once I used this Little Green ProHeat cleaner, I noticed a huge difference in the appearance of my stairs and I couldn’t be happier with the results. The handheld design made it relatively easy to clean each stair compared to the cumbersome process of trying to vacuum each stair and I was surprised to see just how much dirt this little cleaner was able to pull out once I emptied the dirty water tank. Speaking of the tanks, there are separate tanks for clean and dirty water which actually have pretty decent capacity relative to the size of the unit as a whole. Another thing to note is this particular cleaner doesn’t have a built-in hot water heater. Instead, it uses something called “Heatwave Technology” to maintain the water temperature while cleaning. In other words, you have to put hot water in the unit and then the “Heatwave Technology” will keep the water hot. I found this to be true for the most part and was not disappointed by the unit’s ability to maintain the water’s temperature. The unit came with a 3” “Tough Stain Tool”, 3-in-1 “Stair Tool” which actually really helped when cleaning my stairs, and a trial-size of the “Professional Spot & Stain + Oxy” cleaning formula. Overall this is a great portable carpet cleaner and I highly recommend it!

This is an excellent device for deep cleaning the inescapable stains that your furry friends will leave somewhere on your carpet. The tanks are easy to fill and empty, and though they feel a bit fragile, you shouldn't have any problems with them becoming unseated from the main unit or with valves breaking off. The main vacuum head generates sufficient suction, though certainly not as much as your standalone vacuum cleaner. The water jets attached to the main vacuum unit are where the device really shines. A simple squeeze of the trigger and you can adequately wet a good patch, and apply more cleaning solution while running the brushes and nozzle over the stain if necessary. You can deliver just as much as is necessary while treating the area, without having to reload the tanks or grab extra bottles and sponges. The vacuum motor is also reasonably quiet and comparable to a handheld vac. The hose isn't very long, but the whole unit is lightweight enough to make picking it up and moving it no great chore. Clearly marked lines in the fill tanks also enable you to use the right amount of cleaning solution without overdoing it like you can when using a spray bottle. I've used this unit on a reasonably deep carpet and it was able to remove a pretty bad soiling incident that a little black cat left as a present. The device is easy to use and transport, and a lot less wasteful than sponges or towels you'll want to throw out right away. It doesn't have the power to clean an entire room in a single sitting, but if you need a simple carpet cleaning aid for let stains specifically, this is highly recommended.

I got the Bissell cleaner with one thing in mind- car upholstery. Before I even had a chance to try it, though, my daughter had her own idea- get the set in, ground in, bright red lipstick stains off her bedroom carpet. Seeing as how I didn't even know that was a thing, I was intrigued (and scared). I've included the before and after pictures which show that the Bissell was able to make a huge difference; in the pictures, you can still see very faint spots, but for those not in the know and/or staring at the pictures (e.g. Mom) one might not ever know there were spots there in the first place. Now to test it on the car seats! Note: the lipstick results did take 2 passes. The first, with the included Bissell carpet cleaning solution made only moderate progress. A quick Google search, though, indicated that the lipstick was going to require some grease-cutting power; so, the second attempt was only after some dish soap pre-treatment- that worked wonders. So, the tool itself works well and is much easier and less messy than any standard wet rag sort of treatment. That said, pairing the tool with any conventional wisdom regarding the specific stain you're trying to tackle seems to be the best idea.

    Mean Little Cleaning Machine

The Bissel LIttle Green is one heck of a small cleaning machine! There is some assembly required but it's not too much nor too hard. There are two included attachments, one for general type cleaning and another for cleaning on stairs. Our dog was kind enough to puke on the living room carpet thus providing an opportunity to put the cleaner to the test. I've attached both before and after pictures. In the past when something like this happened we'd just live with the stain but not this time. This Bissel made short work on the stain and one can't even tell where the "incident" happened. The cleaner is remarkably quiet and isn't too heavy to move around. I only have two complaints so far. The part that hooks on the back of the cleaner doesn't really do a good job of holding whichever attachment you're not actively using. Not to big of a deal in my book. The other complaint is that the cleaning head does not swivel. Again, not that big of a deal. If you're looking for something that is semi-portable and does an outstanding job of cleaning then this is the machine you're looking for.

The Bissell Pro Handheld cleaner is a great option for hard to get carpet stains that regular size Bissell cleaners cant get to. With 7 different tip attachments it can reach any place, any corner, and you can use it on your car as well (Yay!!) - Setup is very easy and well explained and takes less than a minute. - It has 2 water containers, one for clean hot water, and one for the dirty water. - it comes with a tester Bissell formula, and you can buy any Bissell carpet cleaning formula and use it with it. - The hose is very sturdy, yet flexible and I am sure it will last long. - Holding the machine is easy and well designed with its compact size that wont let it be in the way. - Power cord is 15 feet and its long enough to reach hard to reach spots, or again (use it in your CAR) - I used it for a few stains that were caused on our light colored carpet by our cats (yes, they eat like little monsters and vomit a lot). some of the stains were a bit old since we cant whip the regular size bissell carpet cleaner every week and it did clean them all! - it even sucked so much invisible cat hair which made me go ahead and use the regular size one for a deep clean for the rest of the carpets. - cleaning it is easy, empty the left over clean water from the clean water tank, then empty the dirty water tank and rinse it. Dry everything up and store back in the box. the hose comes with a self cleaning mechanism which i found very helpful. I truly recommend this little monster for anyone who has hard to reach areas, or a small apartment, or even for your car or furniture.

I tried using this to remove some old stains from an off-white carpet, and it's a bit disappointing. Despite having "ProHeat" in the name, the machine doesn't actually heat the water or keep it hot. You are required to fill with already heated water. I'm not sure what "ProHeat" or "HeatWave" is supposed to do; the user manual doesn't mention anything about it. This is a fairly heavy machine and although it's great that it's completely self contained, with cord and hose wraps, and attachment points for the tools, it's still bulky and not something I'd want to carry around a lot. The fact that it's corded also makes this inherently less portable or suited for car use than a battery powered option. Given today's battery technology, I would think there should be a cordless version of this instead, especially since the power is not being used for a water heating element. As far as cleaning ability, it's so-so. Based on my experience, the ability to remove stains from carpet and upholstery is more dependent on the age of the stain, what type of stain it is, and what cleaning solution you're using the fight the stain. The machine is just there to facilitate the scrubbing and mop-up of the liquid. Thus, this machine, although "portable" and compact, doesn't really stand out from the crowd.

I have used my large carpet cleaner for many years but it is very large and heavy so this is a great addition to be able to use on a few areas when needed. Great size, cord length is ok because I am only using is for small jobs. We used it to clean one of our car’s upholstery and it worked well. It is also great for cat vomit stains that were not fully lifted when hand cleaned. We normally do not wear shoes in the house, but I do love to use it on the stairs – cleans the traffic dust and dirt when my son runs up to his room with sneaks on. Great for the high traffic area from the kitchen to the family room and the hallway area. Good suction but had to go over the area again to get more water out/extracted. I let the area sit with a fan going in the direction just to help it dry faster. Also, very nice for my hallway rug and front door rug – tons of dirt cleaned. Great for my sons closet where he throws all his sneakers in one area – huge difference and better smell! Perfect little size to store in my hall closet for easy access – the large one gets hauled to the basement! I also used it on the chair that my cat has taken over and claimed as his – got much hair and dander out that the regular vacuum didn’t. However, my cat wasn’t happy that it took so long to dry. Assembly was very easy, nice instructions, and cleaning the machine when finished is easy but the tank doesn’t dry completely for about 2 days of sitting out. Very nice addition to our carpet cleaning closet!

After learning how much water I need to clean the sized mess, then i target that area and use the proper amount of cleaning fluid. Don't put more water in the machine or it will go to waste. I also learned that less is more, especially with cleaning fluid. Too much cleaning fluid will soil the carpet, and once dry, that area will need to be reclearned, preferrably with just water, just a waste of time. When I have finished the cleaning job, I clean the brush, empty the dirty water container, and then rinse out the tubing etc. Dont forget to remove the brush, dangle the hose downwards, and press the spray button to clear out the remaining washer fluid. Dont skip this or you might cause problems for yourself later. Caution; when the dirty water container isn't in place properly and so there is a leak in the suction seal. Get it in place or else! Also, do not bend the hose or it will eventually break! After all is said and done, this little guy is handy dandy. I like it.

    Small vacuum, great suction

Video link of review: https://youtu.be/I8I7_RnQTRo Let me start off my saying that one of the most important pieces to cleaning your carpet or upholstery with this vacuum is the cleaning formula you use. Setup of the vacuum was a breeze (great instructions were included, thanks Bissell!) and the accessories that came with the box were very useful. A carpet brush and carpeted stair cleaning brush was included (which I believe is all you need for most home uses). Bissel's oxy plus spot and stain cleaning formula was also included in the box. Before cleaning an area, I recommend the instructed pre cleaning method to remove stains. (Spraying the water mixed solution and waiting 5 minutes, then as you're cleaning spray again and vacuum solution). It is REQUIRED to also check when cleaning upholstery (couches, fabrics) that it allows for the cleaning product to be used on it. The cleaning solution worked well and removed mild stains (removes hard stains in my test when pretreating). The vacuum's suction works very well and is able to remove much water out of carpets/upholstery. Overall, it is a very good small vacuum cleaner and I mainly recommend it for cleaning couches, small carpeted areas, and carpeted stairs.
