Customers are saying

Customers regard the BISSELL Pet Hair Eraser Turbo Plus as a reliable vacuum cleaner that offers powerful suction on all surfaces. They appreciate its user-friendly design and lightweight construction, making it easy to maneuver. The vacuum effectively picks up pet hair and is reasonably priced. However, some users have expressed concerns about the limited storage space for accessories and the lack of an extension wand.

I have owned several vacuums over the years. This was my least favorite. It was constantly getting clogged and even scratched my floor. I returned it for another Bissell, as I love their products.

I’m 68 years old with bad knees and shoulders. For years I’ve used a self propelled wind tunnel. I thought it might be time to try something new. Important for me is easy to push. This little guy is pretty light weight. We put the pieces on and I like that most of the attachments are stored on the unit. However the pet hair roller does NOT store on board. The crevice attachment is lighted as is the base vacuum. All work well. I do not care for the hose and wand design. The hose is just too short for many of my routine jobs. I think the vacuum works well with a good suction and I love the swivel base and how it reaches under and through my furniture and chairs. The cylinder removes easily for emptying but I will have to check instructions for removing the dust and dirt residue that cling to the inside. It also moves pretty well between carpet, rugs and hard wood floors. I don’t particularly care for the placement of the power switch and the carpet roller on/off switch. I have to bend down a bit to reach it. Of course that is necessary because the whole handle is detachable for using the attachments on Upholstry or over head, etc. I think this is a decent vacuum but I might decide to look for a more heavy duty self propelled model if they still exist.

Doesn't pick up much of anything!

This vacuum takes what you suck up and clumps it up into a ball and spits it back out. I am so disappointed that I purchased a vacuum specifically for "Pet Hair" and it does a terrible job of picking it or anything else up. I don't have a hoard of animals or a dirty house or crazy carpet - I literally do my weekly vacuuming and have to constantly go over the same spot multiple times and stop to pick up the clumps it spits out. Beyond frustrating; especially from a very reputable brand.

This vacuum is not very easy to use. The cord becomes a tripping hazard due to it’s placement. The cleaning head is too narrow. We will be returning and switching brands.

1st let me say the vacuum works top notch, it's very powerful, does a very nice job cleaning, the attachments and wand are very handy as well. The little mini vacuum head is awesome for cleaning couches and chairs etc... The little crevice wand attachment has a nice LED light on it so you can easily see what you're cleaning. Now let me get to my gripes. It was very intuitive to put together out of the box, but I did have to go to the instructions to figure out how the suction hose attached. It was packaged nice and securely, but after removing all the accessories, trying to get the main part of the vacuum out of the box was very scary, it felt like it was going to break before the cardboard finally started sliding up and out of the box to release the main vacuum body. Once out of the box and fully assembled I took it for a test run in my living room. It's very powerful, you can feel the suction as you push and pull it back and forth, and it has LED headlights to let you see what's in front of you as you go. The only gripe I have with the cleaning ability is that it has no forward suction at all... I could see little bits of dirt, hair, a pop corn kernel, just barely under the edge of the couch... less than half an inch under and no matter how I tried with the main vacuum it just wouldn't suck any of the stuff towards itself to clean... so basically the neat LED headlights let me see what was just out of reach, but the vacuum wouldn't suck it up. A quick change to the LED crevice attachment however and I was able to clean under the lip of the couch as far back as I felt like cleaning. After putting the vacuum back to normal mode, I reached down and felt in front of the cleaning head with my hand and felt no suction whatsoever... basically you have to move the roller section over what you're trying to clean and only the roller section will work, otherwise you have to switch to an attachment. I have other vacuums that will suck a good few inches in front of and to the sides, so the fact that this one doesn't is kinda a bummer to me because it does everything else so well. The one last thing I don't like about this vacuum is the mini roller attachment doesn't have a place to mount on the main vacuum body. The LED lighted Crevice tool has a mount, and the small upholstery brush also has a mount, but the pet hair roller brush needs to be stored somewhere and then when you need it you have to go get it instead of it being with the rest of the vacuum. I even checked the instructions again to see if I was overlooking its mounting location and the instructions say nothing about it either. So overall I give this vacuum a 4 of 5... I would still recommend it to a friend because it works very well, and the attachments also work very well, but I do feel like there is room on the table for some improvements.

After a quick assembly I began vacuuming my den, which had been vacuumed in the last couple of days. I was surprised to see how much stuff was collected from a carpet that I assumed was pretty clean. This vacuum seems to separate the pet hair from the rest of the debris and pet hair is visibly swirling around the top of the collection container. The mini-brush unit that attaches to the hose is great on upholstery. This unit ls lighter and a bit smaller than the one it is replacing. I'm not sure if the collection container is smaller than my current vacuum, they look about the same but this sure seems to fill up faster, I'm going to say that this one is is collecting more from my carpets. This unit is also significantly lighter than the one it replaces which is great other than I keep pulling it over when using the flexible hose. This vacuum is an improvement on all of our floor surfaces over the old one, it's lighter, the mini brush attachment is great. I have no complaints. Most importantly, my wife loves it!

Lost suction quickly after a month. As an elite member exchanged it and went with a cheaper one that seems to perform much better.

We had the thing less than two months, and the longer we had it the poorer it got in terms of suction. It ticked over, but there was next to know suction in the hose at the end. We checked everything we had access to and could not find a blockage anywhere. I would not recommend the model to anyone. I had the option for a replacement but decided to go with another brand.

Strong vacuum but the handle feels so cheap. It is not rigid. Handles should be sturdy. Should've made the tolerances tighter, Bissel.

Just wondering if we could raise the Vacuum for different types of carpet. It’s hard to push. It’s a nice vacuum.

This Bissell is a great vacuum with lots of power. We have an area rug that we have been cleaning with a stick vacuum thinking it was clean. Once I used the Bissell pet eraser on it I was surprised at how much dirt it pulled out of the carpet. The attachments work great and emptying the debris is as easy as pushing a button. My main complaint is that the main metal hose does not disassemble. It is riveted together so if you get something stuck in it you will have to use a coat hanger or something similar to clear the blockage. Other than that it is a great vacuum for the price.

This vacuum cleaner is the wurst Bissell I’ve ever owned. It gets clogged up by the tiniest of things, the handle comes apart so if you are using the hose you have to pick up the bottom of the machine instead of just being able to roll it with a handle. I would not buy this.

Although touted as a pet hair vacuum. It was always clogged and the roller or beater bar wore out in less than three months. I ordered another and installed that and the vacuum only survived one more house cleaning. It simply quit running.

I thought this was a regular vacuum, that helped with the pet hair. Well , I was wrong. The roller goes off when you are vacuuming and you have to restart the vacuum for the roller to start rolling. The price was high and not worth it.

We have 2 floors with animals and carpet/tile. Since opening I have been able to vacuum the whole house, remove the fur on both the floor and couches. Vacuum corners and under furniture. All while being able to empty the cannister when full in the trash. Very easy to manuever around and the cord is nice and long. The only con is that the attachements do not store on the vacuum so you have to keep them somewhere so they can be found at a later date. I out the vacumming power up there with my Dy... vacuum. Much less $$
