I purchased this at the end of February and it's mid-may and the "tangle free bristle" motor went out. I am happy I bought the warranty but I should not be having to replace this already! Super sad with this.

    Great Vacuum by Bissell

Loving the Bissell Pet Hair Eraser Turbo so far. It has powerful suction and feels smooth while vacuuming. It comes with a pretty lengthy cord 30’ I believe. It also comes with a lighted crevice tool, wand, dusting brush and a motorized pet brush. I love that it is bagless and emptying the basket is a breeze just by pushing a button. My wife says it’s the best vacuum we’ve owned so far, so I guess that has the seal of approval. Overall I would recommend this vacuum to anyone with or without pets.

As a connoisseur of fine vacuums, I was excited to give this one a try. I have two long haired dogs, am someone who vacuums at least 1-2 times a day, and even has a robot vacuum on the job during the midnight hours. Why? With long haired dogs (German Shep and Chihuahua) the hair is varied in composition, exists in large amounts, and never ends regardless of the season. This vacuum presents itself as a pet vacuum, and I'll say they put much thought into it in that regard. They have provided filtering, cyclonic action, a revised beater bar to prevent hair build up on the beater bar, and even a way to make the area smell "clean" with the use of a Febreeze filter that smells very good. It steers easily, has headlights to light the way, and isn't too heavy to make it a chore to use daily. They included a lit crevice tool (uses batteries to light this tool), a stair/furniture tool that uses suction to turn a small beater bar, and a dust brush that has thoughtfully placed rubber fingers to help grab hair and remove it from cloth surfaces. There is an easy to remove wand, for getting into places the head won't fit. Very easy to remove and use. Some of the negatives are using the dust brush for things like baseboards, is frustrating to get a good angle, and if you do, it drags with the hair removal part of the dust brush. The crevice tool needs batteries to light the way, which is a disappointment. And the cyclonic tank press and release hair thing didn't work as I expected and had to reach up in there and remove the hair that had accumulated at the top. Since I have hardwoods, I find hair is getting clumped up in the beater bar (I do not use the beater bar on hardwood floors) and has to be removed by turning on the beater bar and vacuuming a small throw rug which dislodges the hair that is building up while no beater bar is moving. This same problem, just so we are clear, happens on every vacuum I own or have used when they are a beater bar type vacuum and the beater bar isn't running - the beater bar creates an awful noise as it is running against the hardwoods. Everything about this points towards a well designed, well thought out, and decently made vacuum. Their 5 year warranty backs this up. And it was designed with pet owners in mind. Frankly I'm grateful for this, because normal vacuums that aren't designed with pet dander and pet hair in mind, always fall way short. For example, this is allergy friendly, so the particles don't release back into the air. Replacement filters are not expensive compared to so many other filters I've bought. Assembly was quick and easy, no tools needed and hoses connect and disconnect with a twist to and from the locked position. My first night using this I got up much more than I would have using my battery operated unit. I went along after I did it first with the battery unit and found much that was left behind - it is a real vac vs. a similar design. "Similar design" units are not the same. I bought my first Bissell pet vac many years ago, and have always been quick to recommend them to pet and/or working dog owners. The beater bar change is a huge improvement. The other great thing is that this is the only vacuum manufacturer who provides clear and helpful instructions on what needs to be done to maintain it. They even put little tags on the pieces when you are putting it together so you know how the pieces fit and where they connect; very smart and very helpful. For the price point, you cannot go wrong. And if you decide it isn't all I've said it is, Best Buy has a great return policy and would welcome a return to ensure a happy customer - I know because I've returned enough stuff and am even greeted with a friendly smile during the return process.

This vacuum is great for pets. We have two dogs and have so much problems with pet hair. This vacuum makes quick work clumps of pet hair. The air filter on this thing is what sets it out for me. It is a febreeze air filter so, when you vacuum it makes the air freshener. The attachments are easy and work well. The mini spinning vacuum brush works well to get hair off couches. Overall you can't go wrong with this vacuum.

We've been a multi-dog family for over 25 years. And we've been a canister vac family for the same amount of time. That is - till last year when we got our first Bissell Pet Hair Eraser. We've always owned brand name vacs - our last two canister purchases were Miele, one of them even the Pet model. And now, I shudder to think how much we spent on buying and maintaining them. After a vacuuming session, we'd be there with scissors & razor blades cutting the hair off the brushes. I can't believe how easy the Eraser has made our lives. We've had the first one for a year, and we've had to tend to the brushes maybe twice. It's worked perfectly in that time, more than I can say about the Miele. I got the 2nd so we wouldn't have to lug the machine up & down the stairs. Things to like - extra long 30' cord - plug it in a hallway & you can do multiple rooms. (not retractable though - need to wrap it around hooks on the handle) The lighted crevice tool, and hand held pet Turbo eraser give the machine versatility. (although they could have designed the unit to hold all the attachments) The dust bin works great - easy to attach/detach and empties easily. The swivel function of the beater & low height design allow for good reach under couches/tables. Handles very well. As I said, I've had one of these for over a year, and went for a 2nd. I guess that says something about it. No more canisters for us. All in all, best vac we've owned. Bissell knows something about pet hair!

I have been using this vacuum for about a week now and have been extremely pleased with its performance. I don't own any pets, but you don't need any for a vacuum like this. While its specialty is pet hair, it works wonderfully for human hair as well as I have a wife and daughter that "shed" constantly. This unit outperformed most other vacuums I have ever used from a pure cleaning standpoint. Suction power was terrific. Other features that I enjoyed were the crevice tool to help you get in between the couch cushions and other tight spots, its ease to maneuver despite the heavier weight, and the motorized brush for spot cleaning duties. If I wanted to nitpick this vacuum it would be the overall weight and loudness of the motor, but these are minor quibbles and a happy trade-off for its performance. If you are looking for a vacuum that performs well at a great price, pet hair or not, this is an excellent model to consider.

I have tested out many vacuums in my time that all claim to "Suck" better than the next one. This vacuum is a Great vacuum and really feels like it is doing a great job. But I have a Great Pyrenees and have not found too many vacuums that can handle the task of the hair this guy sheds. This vacuum will get it done but it took emptying the container a multitude of times before finishing the house. Now this maybe that the vacuum was doing such a good job or that the container is small? We do have another vacuum that will pick up the hair better and faster. However, we really love this one for the carpeted areas, sofas, and blinds. It is great on fabrics, carpets, and tile / hardwoods. But, not the best on pet hair... I would recommend this vacuum if you have a short haired pet or no pet(s) at all.

Almost as good as its now-famous competitor!

I was really excited to get a BISSELL Pet Hair Eraser Turbo Bagless Upright Vacuum, especially as our family already has another top vacuum from BISSELL's competitor (per Best Buy rules, I can't outright name the competitor, but let's just say that he named the vacuums after himself and he sounds English, so let's call that competitor Harvey instead -- perfectly harmless name and it's merely coincidental if I'm naming someone involved in this competitive space!). For anyone who's looked at or compared bagless vacuums, you know that the point is not just bagless, but this now-famous competition has to do with how efficiently one can do one's housework. In this case, because there were so many comparisons to make, I'll list by way of workflow. For starters, there is a bit of putting parts of the vacuum together. While it's true that BISSELL appropriately tagged ends of, for example, the hose that connects the main hand wand with the actual body of the vacuum, it did take some paying attention to the fact that you must remove the filter/tank first, attach the square-end of the hose to the vacuum, per se, and then re-attach the filter/tank in order to complete the bare-bones assembly (without considering attachments). To be fair, the Harvey units, while not requiring this level of complexity to put together, do require adequate suction between their filter/tank in order for the air flow to properly operate. Next, cord length; there's plenty of it. Between the BISSELL and the "Harvey," you're not going to be constantly searching for outlets when vacuuming. One of the biggest areas is actual operation, meaning moving the unit around. What's nice about the BISSELL is two-fold. First, the wheels, specifically, those back wheels that on a Harvey you find yourself performing wheelies to try to move the vacuum around. Not so with a BISSELL. These two back wheels are steadier and really provide a lot of support for the vacuum, especially as the vacuum head freely swivels around -- enough to get under hard-to-reach areas, etc. Also, there's no need to bend the vacuum towards yourself in typical clamshell fashion (like with the Harvey) in order to get suction going at the base. Instead, the BISSELL has two rocker switches at the top of the base unit -- one is exclusively for power (suction always), and a separate one for head brush rotation. Further, something that helps distinguish the BISSELL from the Harvey is that suction is adjustable -- there's a slider switch further up the main handle that allows for more or less plush carpeting settings. Now, two of the negative things I've found with this vacuum. First, the actual brush head for the main unit isn't as wide as for the Harvey, by about an inch. That might not seem like much, but vacuuming carpets is a lot like mowing the grass -- the wider cut deck you have, the faster you can get through the chore. Secondly, and I don't know if Harvey patented this functionality or not, but in order to open the holding tank, you have to press a rocker switch of sorts *at the bottom of the tank and physically open the bottom*. This is a major difference from the Harvey, where you open its tank from the top, and the bottom falls open. Not having to mess with any part of the tank, as on the Harvey, means less chance of getting all that debris everywhere when you're trying to empty the thing. And about the pet hair attachment? Honestly it's a wind-and-belt-driven attachment that simply makes things easier to reach, say, your sofa to get hair. I have one for my Harvey as well, but I really don't use it, because by the time you get the thing attached, you could have just used a hose extension and be done with the chore. Speaking of attachments, while there are three (including an extension with an LED light so you can see better -- honestly, not sure why anyone's vacuuming in the dark, but if that's your thing, BISSELL has you covered!), they don't lock into place like they do with the Harvey. They simply slide on -- pretty firmly -- and then slide off. Overall, BISSELL has a very sturdy, well-made device in this vacuum. Have they surmounted the competition with this one? I don't think so. My "Harvey" will continue to be my go-to vacuum for the foreseeable future. So, 4 out of 5 stars because BISSELL made an excellent unit, but my other vacuum still remains tops for me.

I am typically skeptical about vacuums that claim to target a particular kind of dirt. I don't know if this one is exceptionally good at picking up cat hair, or if it's just good at getting stuff out of carpet in general, which includes cat hair, but it really picks up cat hair well. The first use of this vacuum was on a room that gets seldom used but the cats like to hang out in. It had just been vacuumed two days earlier with a pretty good machine. It was amazing how much hair came out of that room. We have three cats, so we're always looking for something better at keeping the hair off our clothes and furniture. This is it. As a side benefit, this is also light and maneuverable, maybe even too maneuverable, since you have to pay attention if you're trying to keep your lines straight. But definitely good at what it claims to do.

My bulldog once again is back and loving around my household, I love and adore her with her funny ways. but like some of our loving pets she sheds out of this world. Leaving her hair everywhere all over my floor. My old vacuum just wasn't cutting it when picking up her hair and that's when I decided to try last years Bissell's Pet Hair Eraser. ever since then, I was hooked on using their vacuum for pets. I'm here to report today that 2018's Pet Hair Eraser Turbo is better than ever. it's much faster and much more powerful. I love it! This vacuum is engineered for pets that was built from the ground up really delivers on every single thing the box promised. Opening the box you are greeted with instructions of everything within the box. There are even steps to take out the vacuum easily from the box. You also have customer support information and donations information for Bissell's own pet foundation. The instructions are clearly detailed, This year model was easier to put together and faster. It took me no time to have this up and running. Design wise it looks great with hints of a purple and green throughout, giving it that "sleek" look and still showcases that its part of the pet hair eraser family. The labels are bold so you can see them. It has a swivel that hits the corners at the right angles picking up all the hair. Most of the equipment attached to the vac is out of the way and doesn't bump against your knee or arms. Right away you can see the tangle free brush roll, this is where you see most of the dirt pick up and see what pet hair twirling tangle free. This was the single most annoying thing to untangle my bulldogs clumped hair from my older vac from the 00s. So having this was a godsend me as a pet owner. Last year's of this vac model did do a great job but this one the suction is strong and sweeps up hair much faster. It also goes deeper with penetration. Even worst is removing hair from dirt tank compartment from clogs. This vacuum eliminates all of that due to the "Pet hair eraser" a system where the pet hair always remains loose and doesn't clog up the rest of the dirt tank compartment. same size as last yar's model os no issues there. No longer all of the dirt and hair is trapped. All you do is release the dirt compartment over the trash and all falls right out without even touch dirt. Honestly, it also works for long male/female hair on the floor as well. The spooling system is great on this model because the tank is bigger more air and more free flow. It just works as it should. The Lift-off vac multi-surface suction control works fantastic so no issues here. The truth that all pet owners have to go through one way or another in time...the pet smell. All pets have a certain odor and my bulldog is no exception to this rule sometimes smelling like corn chips but.. One intriguing and interesting thing about this vacuum is there is a Febreze deodorizer filter that eliminates pet odor. For the most part, it works filling up my room with a nice, fresh, and pleasant smell killing any other odors. The filters are washable according to Bissell but I've been buying refills for the bigger brother to this vac. This vacuum has specialized pet tools for you to reach places that are hard to reach. I decided to try using this on a ceiling fan, steps, and behind the sofa just to try it out with pet hair. The handle releases as the tool for you to use. Also comes with a wand release letting you reach in high places. This vacuum could work as just a normal vac if you don't care about its features. It works just fine but you wouldn't be taking advantages of the pet features it's designed for. If that's what you are looking for I would say try one of the others cheaper Bissell vacuums and skip this one. BUT as a Pet Vacuum for you and your little friend who sheds, this thing is a monster for picking up pet hair around your house. All of this combined with the 5-Year warranty and a $10 donation to Bissell's pet foundation you could not go wrong. I would only recommend this product to anyone with a pet easily. This is a must-have pet owners product. for the past 3 years, I have been super pleased with Bissel's vacuums for pets

I mean really well! The Bissell Pet Hair Eraser Turbo Bagless Upright Vacuum really has some suction power. I live in a 2 year old home, and in a couple of places of high traffic, the new carpet had been crushed down. This new Bissell has revitalized some of that carpet, pulling the pile back upright. Setting up the vacuum out of the box took a second or two to double check connections. I had placed the instruction booklet to one side, as there are 'quick start' instructions on the end of each connection of the hose, handle etc. Made for a quick and easy set up. There is a slide guide on the handle that allows you to transition between high pile carpet and low pile carpet/hardwood flooring. That took a moment for my wife to get used to, as without that setting on hardwood floors, the vacuum would 'throw' dust and particles around, but switching the slider sorted that out perfectly. There is a switch that allows you to turn off the brush, enabling you to be able to use the very convenient wand for those hard to reach places. There is a 'detail' attachment, with a built in LED light, which is perfect for getting any dust and cobwebs out of the corner of the room, and makes it a lot easier to see them. There is also a motorized brush that helps you get rid of unwanted pet hair from sofas cushions and places that might be more difficult to get the vacuum into. As the name suggests, this vacuum is geared towards pet owners. I've owned several different major brand vacuums, all claiming they are pet busters. This Bissell actually lives up to that name! The technology that enables the brush roller to remain tangle and hair free is impressive! I have not found more than two or three hairs on the roller at all. It does a fantastic job of keeping it tangle and hair free! Incredible. And the cannister is easy to empty when you finished vacuuming, although being new, there was a good amount of static electricity in it, and I did have to reach inside the cannister to empty it. I'm sure in time it will just release the dust and debris straight into the trash can. There are LEDs along the leading edge of the roller which is a nice feature. I wish they were a little brighter, but they are very useful when vacuuming in darker areas, like on hard wood floors, or under sofas etc. It comes with a 30ft cord allowing you to get to most areas of your home without having to continually unplug it and move to another area. The vacuum has a small footprint and is very maneuverable especially on its small wheels, with a side to side pivot. This allows you to weave in and out between dining chairs with ease. There is a good range of motion with the swivel head, but not quite as low profile as some other vacuums I've used in the past, but then they didn't have anywhere near as good a suction as this machine has. So I guess there has to be a trade off somewhere. If I had one complaint about the vacuum, it would be the wand/handle clip mechanism. The vacuum isn't the lightest and with the back and forth movement of vacuuming, I can feel some 'give' in the handle, it moves back and forth inside the locking mechanism, so it doesn't give me 100% confidence in it's longevity, but time will tell. It does come with a 5 year warranty (which I signed up for right away - as I normally forget to register products and then end up not being eligible for warranty service. This was quick and easily done with an account online at Bissell.com). Overall, I am very impressed with the suction this vacuum has with its 120V motor. It's really made me feel like my carpets are getting a thorough clean whenever I go over them.

As I've mentioned elsewhere, and in other reviews my cocker spaniel loves to shed everywhere. On the furniture. On the carpet. Everywhere! In comes the pet hair eraser turbo. A competing brands model recently died on me when suddenly dog hair or SOMETHING caused the motor to burn out. Definitely not cool. Upon unboxing, I was greeted with very (Very!) simple to follow instructions on how to setup the Turbo. Compared to the other brand this one truly was a breeze! The various attachments are also a nice touch. Just a few days ago I had tested another product in our master bedroom and moderately sized hallway. At the time I was impressed with the amount of dog hair and debris it had picked up. So I thought "might as well take another pass with the Bissell". I was AMAZED at how much was still left! I am confident the Bissell got everything. Because, boy - does this thing have suction power! I can safely say that the suction on this is the most powerful I have ever had the chance to use. The lighted crevice tool made it very easy to see between the couch cushions, as well as underneath. Because, I'm weird.... I like to see what I am sucking up! The powered "hand held eraser" attachment works equally well on furniture. I wanted to use it on my stairs, but I was worried that it would be a bit too unstable. It's not that the machine itself couldn't do it, I'm just worried it would topple down if I pulled too hard/far on the tubing. What I liked the most (other than the suction/performance) is how easy it was to clean out everything I sucked up! No more banging on collection cups to get the fur/debri out. It comes out in one easy step. The only negative I can find with this model is that there isn't a place to store all the attachments on the unit itself. I know when my wife goes to use it, attachments may be left who knows where. After testing the Bissell in the above mentioned 2 rooms, I did the whole house. And I can truly say it feels and SMELLS a whole lot cleaner than before. That's what it's all about, right? In my opinion - if you have a pet (or not!) this vacuum is definitely one to consider. It gets DEEP down into your carpets - and you don't have to worry about anything getting stuck in the brush either! So no repeat of what "killed" vacuum #1!
