I think I'm most impressed with my own long hair not getting trapped in the vacuum. I have long hair and thus, I'm used to cleaning my vacuum quite regularly. I haven't had to do far after several months. The smell of the fabreeze filter makes me want to vacuum more often also, it's lovely and makes the whole room smell great. Empties incredibly easily, even with pet hair, it doesn't get stuck in the vacuum when trying to empty. (Previous vacuums I had to try to bang them against the trash can to get the hairy mess to fall out if I didn't want to reach in and pull it out.) The only complaint is have is the pet remover tool appears to be beginning to get hairs stuck in it and I'm not sure long term if it will stop working. But the attachments are very nice otherwise. The light on the end of the corner wand is really nice. When you're trying to vacuum steps, or up against a wall, it makes it much easier to see. However not having one on the actual vacuum is a tiny bit uncool, but I barely notice as I rarely vacuum in places that aren't well lit. Over all, far more pros than cons. No issue with picking up, very convenient. This coming from someone who previously would only use cordless vacuums because 1, heavy vacuums hurt my back (this isn't heavy but it is more so than I'm used to, so that does suck.) And 2, it wasn't worth the extra work to need to plug in the vacuum because I was mainly sweeping pet hair which gets caught more easily in most standard vacuums. The difference in how easily this one empties makes up for the extra work and weight of this vacuum, not to mention the free air freshener!

Excellent... easy to put together and everything works well. I have two dog that she’d like crazy and this. Vacuum does the trick to help me keep up

this thing works great and doesnt collect alot of hair around the roller.only back fall is it does get clogs rather easy i think.

I love this vacuum! Saw it on their infomercial and it does everything they claim. I have two top line vacuums, a Dyson Pet floor vac and the shark navigator. For general cleaning they are fine. For pet owners, horrible! The Dyson cinetic vacuums clog constantly with hair and debris around the metal filter. Does okay if it's fine dust and regular dirt you are vacuuming but i had to unclog it after 5 minutes of vacuuming every time. The shark navigator can clog in 4 different spots after every use and the motors shut down quickly when it even slightly overheats. The Bissell vac not only never clogs, it is easy to empty and the roller really does not get wrapped up in hair, ever! I did notice that when using the hand tool to do the furniture with does get dirty and hair trapped in the upper part of the collection cup , but considering it's the only vacuum that effectively cleans pet hair, i can live with it as i don't use it that often. I have three dogs, a Shepard mix, a great Dane, and a blue heeler. All have different hair types and all shed a lot! I vacuum every three days and it takes one or two passes to get all the hair up from my carpets! This vacuum had shortened the time i spend cleaning by huge amounts and i no longer have to unclog the vacuum. Get this vacuum!!!!

It dose what it is supposed to and does it well. I am happy with the easy to empty filter and it is washable but there is one filter you have to buy when it gets dirty and that bugs me. They are either hard to find in a couple of years or extremely expensive. That is why I bought this one because it was difficult to get filters for my old vacuum. That is the only reason I took off a star. Great vacuum though and I am happy with it and my dogs are too!

I purchased this vacuum cleaner about 3 months ago. I have been astonished by its performance. In the passed I have owned Kirby, Roomba, and Dirtdevil vacuum cleaners that have all been OK at best. They all eventually jammed from all of the dog hair that my Australian Shepard and Black Lab shed. I would have to get them serviced, repaired, etc. Not this on. The Bissell Pet Hair Eraser truly lives up to it's name. It has features that are genius and obviously designed by a fellow dog owner. It has attachments for the hose to better vacuum hair off of couches and a height adjuster for the brush on the floor configuration to match your carpet height. I use it twice a week and still have to empty the bagless container after each room. Previous cleaners would only pick up enough dirt and hair to be emptied once per cleaning session. (Gives you an idea of how much dirt and hair was being left behind by other models.) Ultimately, I have been beyond pleased with this purchase. It has made my home easier to clean and keep clean.

The clearance width is a little narrow and the vacuum sort of swivels on a ball at the base, which makes going around a corner a breeze, but puts a lot of weight on the wrist. Before I got used to it, it made my wrist a bit sore. Other than that, it works like a vacuum should and I have no complaints. The "febreeze" filter it came with makes the house smell great while you're using it, but the smell dissipates pretty quickly

Pros: This vacuum does a great job picking up pet hair. It meets all my expectations. It has a nice long cord and the cord storage is at a pretty good level on the back of the unit. The cord storage has an easy release feature so you can take the cord off the back with one motion. I like the fact that the attachments are on board. I also like that the canister is easy to remove and empty. The unit comes with a scented Febreze filter which you can use or not. I like that I don't have to buy bags anymore. The price was reasonable. Cons: This unit is a little on the heavy side. It has good maneuverability but it won't reach under my end tables because the canister is too high. The knob to change from floor to hose is very low on the unit, so if you have difficulty bending over this might be an issue for you. The hose attachment is stiff and doesn't reach very far. I suspect that this will loosen up with use. Overall I am very pleased with my purchase.

Picks up pet hair great. We have two border collies. Easy to empty and no bags. Love it.

We purchased this vacuum specifically for my long hair that sheds. We do not have any pets, but this does the trick when you have or live with someone with long hair that sheds. The hair does not get stuck around the brush at all. At times wish vacuum had more suction power, but would recommend purchasing this vacuum.

This is a very good vacuum, it has great suction power. It picks up all the pet hair from carpets as well as from bare floors. It is a little heavier than my Dyson but it does a better job.

This vacuum works really well. Easy to clean, picks up very well on any surface. Plus it's very light weight. It also turns very well...a feature I've never had in a vacuum. Plus the crevice tool has an LED light on it...too cool!

It’s been almost a month and I use my vacuum at least once a week. The suction is very powerful, easy to glide, and I can tell a huge difference with my old vacuum cleaner. The febreeze freshener is not as strong as first time of course, but you can still smell it. Love that I dont have to touch what gets sucked up (so easy to clean). I look forward to vacuuming all the time. The only con would be always having to adjust between height for different types of carpets.

This is the best pet vacuum! it picks up SO much dog hair, and helps so much with my allergies! it also picks up a large amount of dust. It works best on carpet

In a nutshell, this is an OUTSTANDING vacuum! If you dread having to clean your vacuum after cleaning your house, this vacuum is for you, especially if you have pets (or people) in your household with constantly shedding hair. It definitely performs as advertised with respect to not retaining hair on the brush roller and the push-button ease of emptying the bagless dirt/debris container. At 18 pounds, it's not the lightest vacuum available, but it's not the heaviest either. The swivel turn capability helps maneuverability, and the suction is excellent, even with only 8.5 amps of power. My wife and I both agree it's not as loud as either our Hoover or Dirt Devil vacuums, neither of which pick up hair as well as this Bissell does. It has a long (30 ft) electrical cord, and the 8 foot long hose allows you to use the vacuum accessory tools on a staircase 12 steps high without having to relocate the vacuum itself. The hypoallergenic sealed filtration system keeps the air clean, and the cyclonic technology allows dirt, hair, and debris to fall free from the container without having to remove it with your fingers. Bissell now sells a telescoping extension wand to extend the reach of the 3 tool attachments it comes with, all of which work very well. There are 5 manually adjustable carpet/floor settings from which to choose, and the brush roller can be turned off if desired for use on non-carpeted floors. The illustrated, well-written owners manual is concise yet comprehensive. I only wish it had a lighted base, an automatic re-wind capability for its electrical cord, and a lift-off vacuuming canister feature for added flexibility. Both my wife and I are extremely pleased with the performance of this vacuum, which we're able to use with no problem, and we're both past our mid-60's. In summary, if you're shopping for a a hassle-free vacuum offering excellent performance, features, and capabilities, look no further, for you've found your vacuum!

With a hairy dog, this vacuum was just what I needed. It does a great job on both the carpet and flooring. Not too heavy and easy to maneuver over the cleaning areas. Plus easy to clean.
