This vacuum works as advertised, its great at picking up the messes left by a cat. The hair all collects in the canister, though its not totally hands free--but it is very easy to simply pull out the spooled hair. It works on hardwood floors as well as rugs. The attachments are also very good for cleaning couches and cat trees. I would recommend this for anyone who wants to control pet hair(and litter tracking for cats)

I bought this vacuum a couple years ago for my wife for a Christmas present (she requested it, I’m not one of those guys). It’s an amazing vacuum. It picks up dog hair off our tile floors with ease. I like that it’s bagless. No more wasting money on those things! It makes it so much easier to use than other vacuums. I would recommend to a friend and buy again if need be.

I love this vacuum. I have 2 cats and 3 dogs and the pet hair is horrible. This amazing vacuum can suck up anything. When I say anything I mean it. If you clog up the vacuum it's so easy to get the thing clogging it up. Almost impossible to clog it up. Every time I vacuum twice a week on carpet and the floor with 6 people living here. Gets everything's up for you. It shows the results in the clear catcher.

My wife and children love their pets but are also highly allergic. We have been through other vacuums and they have done alright but this product has improved the quality of life for us even to the point where we have been able take in additional family pets. Even after vacuuming with our previous vacuum I was able to pick up nearly entire cylinder more of hair and debri with this product from our living room alone.

I recommend this to anyone with a pet in their home. We recently moved into a home with carpet where our previous home had hardwood. This vacuum has done a great job of picking up pet hair. The extensions are especially helpful for general cleaning around the house, and the brush attachment as worked great with our living room furniture. It is a little strong, though, so it may not be great on delicate furniture.

Having 2 dogs and a cat we needed something that would do the job. This vacuum has exceeded our expectations in picking up hair. Definite good buy.

Seems to be working quite well. I have a husky that sheds quite a bit. The vacuum seems to be able to handle it. Wouldnt mind a little more power overall. Solid vacuum...

My Dyson stick vac couldn't handle all the pet hair so I gave up on that brand. This Bissell is a work horse. The pet hair doesn't clog the brush head and I have had absolutely no problems with it. Granted I've only owned it for a month or so but I am completely happy with the amount of suction and how nice my carpets look after use. It works very well on hard surfaces too.

this vacuum is amazing and works great with picking up the hair of my two cats and my long hair dog. It also is not very loud which is great too

I absolutely love this vacuum. I've tried many that say they're pet hair specific, but they don't work any better than the average vacuum. Not this one. This one is like a super hair sucker and the hair really doesn't wrap around the roller. I have a long haired dog and his hair sticks to everything...except the vacuum. Definitely worth paying a little extra.

What an awesome machine. I have a dog and a cat, so fur is everywhere- well, it used to be... now it is gone. I have a Dyson canister, but it just couldn’t keep up with the fur. I had a cleaning company come the day before I bought the Bissel. When I tried the Bissel after purchasing it, I had a canister full of fur. Doesn’t speak to the quality of the cleaners, but now that I have my Bissel I won’t be using them again! The accessories are awesome and really help with furniture too. The crevice tool has a light, which is great for seeing behind and under furniture. Emptying the canister is a breeze! One push of the button and it all comes out! I really love the tangle-free brush roll, because my hair tends to get the Dyson roller tangled up. Now, as wonderful as the vacuum is, there are a couple things that could be improved - not deal breakers for me, but may be for others.... It’s on the heavier side, and a little awkward with the swiveling head. Once you get used to the swivel the weight isn’t that big of a deal. The cord for the wand could be a liiiittle longer, but it’s possible I’m just used to the long cord of the Dyson. I will continue to use my Dyson for my hard wood floors and higher spots.

I figured the other reviewers were exaggerating but was desperate and needed a good pet hair vacuum. We have two dogs and a cat plus 4 teenaged girls with long hair. This thing is amazing! It's true that it doesn't get jammed and pulls dirt and hair from the carpet and makes it looks new and refreshed. I recommend this to anyone. I'm so happy we bought it.

Purchased this vacuum to use while having our Dyson Animal repaired. We live with a cat and three dogs (can you say 'hair everywhere '). On a scale of 1-10 with the Dyson being a "10", I would have to rate this product as a solid "9". Well built, solid construction, great suction and easy to empty. We are very pleased with this vacuum and it's value.

Stunning performance with this super-sucker pet vac. Got enough pet hair the first use to spin and weave another two dogs! Very easy operation and especially to empty after use. Climbs easily from bare floor to carpet. Handy long cord. Great value for the price, and appears to be built to last. Highly recommended

We needed a new vacuum cleaner to replace the one we had just bought a year ago which started to make a loud noise and did not clean as well. We were surprised how well this new unit works and how easy it is to use. The only issue I see is the extension hose when using the hand tools, but other than that, it's an awesome vacuum cleaner.

The pet hair feature works great, the 2nd Bissell I have had with this feature, the reason I got another one. I like the attachment vacuum being "attached" it is very convenient, wish it telescoped more. The bare floor feature is OK, but not the best. Got it for the pet hair. Kept my old lift off Bissell for the car & portable needs. It also is a bit cumbersome to maneuver, kinda heavy! Incidentally..this is the Mrs. answering this review!

I was blown away at how much this vacuum pulled out of fairly new carpeting that got vacuumed with a different machine on a regular basis, it pulled out cat hair that I didn’t even know was there and was extremely easy to empty and the best part was there was no hair wrapped around the roller

This has been a very good addition to my household, keeping allegens, cat hair and other detritus out of my carpet. Has great suction, and the 'power paw' is great for vacuuming a carpeted cat tree with multiple shapes and sizes of surface. Gets the catnip, too!

We had purchased a Bissell from Best Buy and had the Geek Squad insurance put on it. Good thing-the handle broke and was not able to be repaired. Having the Geek Squad insurance they would have traded out this machine for the same one, however they do not make the same one. So, they credited us the full purchase price and we were able to buy a newer model. Very happy with this one. Purchased the Geek Squad for this one too-just in case...

This is by far the best vaccum. This replaced my expensive Dyson that was half the cost and worked much better. I have a Husky that sheds a lot and my other vaccum just wasn't getting the hair off the area rugs. I bought this one and I was very impressed after vaccuming there wasn't a single hair left.
