I found this product cleans relatively well but it takes a lot of pressure pushing down on the pads to really get the dirt out. Wish it was stronger

Cracked and leaked TWICE

I purchased this item and the steam and pressure caused the chamber holding the water to crack. I went to Best Buy to replace it and the same thing occurred. It seemed pointless to replace again because it appears to be a design flaw, unless I just so happen to get TWO defected products. I use tape now to seal the crack. The leaking is minimal now.
Such a shame because otherwise this could have been a great product.

This product wasn’t what we needed. Great for grout and detailed work but not for the floors and quick pick up work

This works great on my tile floors. I especially love the way the handheld steamer works for the grout, stainless steel appliances, cleaning around the faucets and on my granite countertops!

I originally bought this to help sanitize some areas of my house due to recent
Mice sightings. Though I like the design I feel the actual steam output is lacking. There are two settings, I reccomend the lower setting for steam output as the higher setting just throws more water out through the pump (not steam). I tried cleaning different areas of my house using the different tools and in my experience the cleaning potential is subpar on each surface I tried. For example, on the stove it took about 15 minutes usinig a combination of steam and scrubbing to partially remove baked on stains in a small area near one of the burners. Ultimately, this is just not useful to me. Not much steam output and squirts water everywhere.Totally bummed about this purchase considering the high price. If you do decide to purchase make sure you buy distilled water or steam mop solution. The box did not come with any samples.

This is great addition to a home for spot cleaning but is not meant to handle a lot. It doesn’t stand well on its own so ours cracked within the first month. It take quite a bit of time to reheat once unplugged and moved into another room.

Powerful Steam Cleaning

Stubborn stains on my kitchen and bath tile floor and dining room hardwood floor did not stand a chance against the Bissell Powerfresh Slim Steam Mop. It was a real joy to use. Setup was simply a matter of snapping together three pieces together – the mop pad foot, extension wand, and hand held pod unit. Pour in some water into the container in the hand held pod using the included pouring cup, plug in the power cord, and you're all ready to steam. Simply select the level of steaming, either high steam for difficult stains or low steam for more delicate floors, and press the trigger on the hand held pod to release the steam. The steaming action loosened up the dried stains on my floors and the cloth pad removed the stain. It does take a few passes over the stain to completely remove it. I was able to steam 1200 square foot of floors using only a few cups of water.
Pros:
+Uses only water for cleaning. No need to purchase harsh cleaning chemicals.
+Cleans multiple surfaces. The steam mop includes attachment tools to clean grout, fabric, stoves, microwaves, countertops, sinks, and more.
+The power cord is 25' long. Plenty of cord length to use the steamer without having to constanting change wall outlets.
+Easy to clean and re-usable mop pad. After steaming the floors, you simply remove the mop pad and toss it into the washing machine using warm water and non-bleach liquid detergent. Air dry and that's it.
+Comes with a wall mount to easily store the steamer.
Cons:
-The hand held pod unit is relatively heavy. Adding the water into the container in the unit naturally adds even more weight to it. During use, I found that my hands and arms felt a bit fatigued from having to hold up and move the pod unit back and forth to remove stains. There were times when I had to hold it up with both hands. I can see someone who is elderly or with arthritis having trouble using this steamer.
Tips for Use:
There is a prerequisite to using the steam mop. The steam mop is only designed to remove stains and sanitize floors and surfaces. You will first need to vacuum the floors to remove as much dust, debris, hair, and food particles as possible. Only then can you use the steam mop.
Use only distilled or demineralized water. This will help prolong the life of the steamer.
Conclusion:
Ease of use, effective stain removal, versatility of use on more than just floors, and easy clean up are the reasons to consider purchasing the Bissell Powerfresh Slim Steam Mop. I would highly recommend the steamer and am even considering purchasing more to give as gifts.

I'm a newbie with steam mops, so the first thing I'd want to know when shopping is, "why do I need this?" I've been using this, trying the different attachments and on different surfaces, and I find that this does stuff that nothing else does. It cleans my kitchen and bathroom floors with just water, so I don't have to keep cleaning stuff on hand, and it does a great job. There's even a scrubber mop for tougher sticky messes. It gets into those difficult gaps like the gaps and edges of your faucets, the deep corners of your microwave and other metal appliances, and it pulls the wrinkles out of my dress shirts!
Setup was really easy. It comes with a variety of tools. The instructions are really brief so I'm doing some amount of trial and error for how to use which attachment and for what.
It comes with a tool hanger! That keeps it organized.
I'm really impressed with the quality of construction and the thought behind the usage and functionality.
Pros:
Easy to set up
Easy to use
very effective
Great quality and construction
Tools organizer
Generous water reservoir
Washable and reusable mops
Uses plain water, don't have to buy cleaning fluids
Cons:
Instructions are vague
No hose, so there's not enough flexibility to clean the walls and top inside the microwave or other appliances

Extremely Versatile Steam Cleaner

Really shines as a versatile, in-between or secondary cleaning tool for smaller rooms. Particularly for odd jobs like cleaning grout, upholstery, grills, car seats, and reaching those hard to reach or high places (inside of an oven, wall cabinets, etc.). Would rate 2 or 3 stars if it was only a mop, but the versatility and variety of tools and attachments really make it a solid 4 star product.
Pros:
- Includes multiple cleaning attachments/tools (brushes, spouts, squeege etc.) which is nice cause some cleaning products make you purchase tools separately.
- 3 machines in 1 - mop for regular floor cleaning, extension wand for hard to reach places (walls, crevices, etc.), and handheld for precision and close corners cleaning.
- Cleaning attachments/tools are stored in a tool box that clips on to the bottom of the steam cleaner.
- 2 steam options - standard and extra steam
- Safe to use on tile, hardwood, marble, granite, upholstery, toys, appliance tops etc.
- Swivel steering
- Wall mount included for easy, convenient storage.
- Long, 25ft power cord
- Easy to use
- Easy to set up out of the box, everything slides and snaps into each other
- Easy to swap out attachments and tools
- Uses tap water, no need to buy cleaning solution (I would recommend distilled water if the tap water in your area is extremely hard)
- Well built, doesn't feel cheap
- Really shines as a odd job cleaning machine. I used it to clean the haze off of my tile after it had recently been installed. You can use it to clean grout, hard water spots in the bathroom, sanitize toys, upholstery, delicate fabric
- Comes with 3 washable, reusable mop pads (1 regular, 1 scrubby pad, 1 fabric pad for delicate items)
Cons:
- I found the handheld unit to be a little heavier than expected. I am not sure if it would be good for someone who may be a senior that struggles to carry heavy items.
- Easy to burn yourself or others so make sure you are careful when using it or handling the tools and attachments.
- Not to be used as a primary cleaning tool, meaning that you should vacuum or sweep a floor before using the steam mop.
- Replacement mop pads can cost $7-$15 depending on the pad type, fortunately they are washable and reusable so you should get plenty of use out of them before having to buy replacements.
- Instructions in the box are a bit vague and lacking. It would be nice to know which attachments are to be used in particular situations without having to look them up on Bissell's website.

ok for light duty cleaning
|

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
the good:
- relatively light and easy to use, unless you're trying to clean something a little more substantial. at that point, it takes quite a bit of scrubbing force.
- does ok for lighter cleaning, certainly not great. i found that it was better at cleaning when used as a steam wand instead of a mop - something like a dirty grout line or smaller, targeted area. with the mop attachment, it felt like i was essentially wiping the floor with a hot, wet towel.
- long power cord
-multiple attachments and lengths
the bad:
- cleaning - for daily “light duty” cleaning, it may be fine. that is, if the floor is mostly clean already, you just want to wipe it down. if you need to clean up anything of substance, this might not be the right tool for the job.
- goes through the small water reservoir fairly quickly. but then, this is a trade off between capacity and weight, since you are carrying the water in the handle when you use it.
overall:
-seems fairly well built and the steam function has its uses, but for anything but the lightest of cleaning chores, i didn’t find it to be all that effective.

Bissell Powerfresh Slim Steam Mop
The Bissell Powerfresh Slim Steam Mop came well packaged with form-fitting cardboard inserts to stabilize the steam mop during shipping. Included in the box were: handheld pod; extension wand; floor or large surface foot with 2 pads (regular for delicate surfaces or everyday use and scrubby pad for heavy duty use on non-delicate surfaces); a tool bag; a snap-on tool box containing a bristle tool, grout tool, angle tool, and flat scraper tool; a wall mount with hanging screws and anchors for mounting it; an additional bristle tool; a fabric steamer tool; a flat surface tool; a pad to fit the flat surface tool; a pad to fit the fabric steamer tool; and a measuring cup to measure the water to fill the handheld pod.
Wall Mount: The wall mount comes with screws and anchors for hanging. It includes a place to mount the steam mop with or without the extension wand attached. It also includes a clip for attaching the extension wand if it is going to be hung separately, a clip for attaching the snap on tool box, and a hook for attaching the tool bag and power cord. (The power cord comes with a Velcro strap so that when you wind up the cord, you can wrap the strap around the cord loops to keep them in place. Then you hang the cord loop over the hook on the wall mount.) I will definitely be using the wall mount once I decide on a permanent place to keep my steam mop.
Preparation: The steam mop is easy to use. Flip open the top of the handheld pod and use the measuring cup to fill the water tank. The instructions say to fill the measuring cup twice and the cup has a 200ml mark near the top, but the user guide says that the water tank has a 350ml capacity. I filled it with the cup twice (using 400ml) and it filled it to the brim. I had no problem with the steam mop with using this amount of water. I used filtered water because the instructions suggest using demineralized or distilled water to prolong the life of the mop.
Use: This steam mop can be used in so many different ways. First set up your handheld pod with or without the extension wand and attach the tools you want to use. Plug it in and the steam mop is ready to go in under a minute. Once you choose your steam setting (Hi or Lo), you use the trigger to release steam. There is also a pause button so you can pause the steam unit if you need to set it down for a minute.
First, I set up the steam mop with the large surface foot and a regular pad on the extension wand and steam mopped my kitchen and breakfast room floors. I switched back and forth between using Lo and Hi steam and they both worked well. Next, I used the angle tool followed by the grout tool to clean the dirt that had gathered in the track of my sliding glass door that leads to the back yard. This was amazing. After I steamed it with the grout tool, I used a paper towel to wipe up the wet dirt and it looks like brand new. Next, I used the handheld pod without the extension wand and used the angle tool and steamed behind the faucet of my kitchen sink and that also did a great job. Next, I used the bristle tool to scrub and steam up some dried-up liquid soap that had fallen on the counter from its dispenser. This did not work very well. It was easier for me to use the scrubby side of the kitchen sponge for that job. It did clean up some of the dried on soap, but not all. Next, I used the flat surface tool and its pad to clean my granite kitchen counters. Before cleaning, I could feel some sticky substance on the counter which would have normally needed some scrubbing to remove, but it came up easily with the flat surface tool attached to the handheld pod.
Clean up: As can be assumed, unless you are using a pad with your steam mop, you will need to wipe up the mess something once you clean it. For example, if you clean your grout in the shower, you will need to at least rinse the dirt down the drain. If you use the angle tool, you will need to wipe up the dirty water after cleaning. If you use the flat surface cleaner or the large surface foot, those have pads attached. The pads absorb the water so you don’t need to wipe up the dirty water, but you will need to wash the pads after use. They are machine washable and reusable, so this is a plus.
One thing that surprised me about the steam mop was the weight of it. The handheld unit is not that heavy but the cord attached to it weighs quite a bit. It is a very thick cord and it is very long (25 feet), so I can understand why it weighs so much. If you are using it on the floor, it should be fine. Even on the top of a horizontal flat surface will be fine. However, if you have to hold the steam mop up while using it (vertical surface for example), you may need to use your other hand to help support the unit so your arms don’t get too tired to finish your job.
PROS:
• Steam has 2 settings – Lo and Hi and the Hi setting puts out a good amount of steam
• Unit can be used with extension wand to allow cleaning the floors while standing or reaching up high
• Unit can be used without the extension wand for countertop cleaning or steaming fabric
• The water tank holds enough water to use the steamer for a long time before having to refill
• The water heats up in under a minute so it’s ready to use quickly. (Mine takes about 30 seconds.)
• Multiple tools for different surfaces and different needs
• Snap-on tool box to keep tools handy during use. I was able to switch out tools while cleaning without having to go get them from the tool bag.
• 180 degree swivel capability
• The Wall Mount keeps everything organized and you can hang it in a convenient location.
• Sanitizes while you clean
CONS:
• None
