    Bring on the Steam!!!

I was expecting a lot from this steamer as a mop, but was pleasantly surprised at all of the other functionality of this particular mop! It comes with several interchangeable heads for either the Wand portion of the device or to attach to the main handheld canister portion of the device. Everything from a scraper to a nozzle head can be placed on either (including the mop head attachment). There is such a difference cleaning with steam as opposed to a bunch of harsh chemicals, and the attachments (including a wall mount kit for storage) make it extremely handy for a variety of cleaning projects. I plan to use one of the two mop heads for carpet steaming, but that is about the only thing I have not yet attempted. I would recommend this to everyone I know. It actually makes cleaning easier and less harmful since there are no chemicals needed for this to work. I only wish I had stepped into the steam cleaning arena sooner! This is a great buy, and I plan to look at more steam cleaning products in the future as a result of my experience using this!

I anticipated a cleaning tool that would ease my cleaning process. I still feel the need to scrub my ceramic tile floors, even after use.

I can tell a lot of great thought and development went into this product. I got this to replace an older steam mop that I used weekly. This one includes multiple tools for different jobs. I must admit, it was kind of an overkill of little attachments which will probably get lost, but nice to know they thought of everything. Performance wise, it provides great coverage and steam cleaning ability. It leaves a sparkling clean finish on my tile flooring. The sticky mystery spots in my kitchen vanished after a few swipes of this thing. The only reason I gave 4 stars over 5, is that there is a trigger you have to hold throughout the entire cleaning process. Wish it had a way to lock the trigger while using in large areas. Overall, good build quality and functions great. Next step...cordless??

This works great. Nice to mop without needing to use soap or anything. Does not take long to heat up as well. I give it 4.5 stars because it's a bit heavy and no way to stand it up unless you can mount the stand piece. But other then that I enjoy using and so do my kids. No more filling a bucket and mopping (other then maybe once in a blue moon now). The cord is long like a vacuum so you can reach pretty far. I like that some of the attachments attach to the unit itself. Also came with a couple more that came with a mesh bag. It ones apart as well so you can use the main part on its own. So you can use that as well. It would have have been nice if it had a flexible house for that but it did not have that. The water tank is not very big at all but works. And like I said, does not take that much time to heat up. If you don't have to big an area to clean I recommend. If a big area, just keep in mind it can get heavy over time and it does not stand alone.

This item couldn't have come at a better time. We are currently painting every room in the house which involves moving items around, including stove and fridge. Talk about some old dirt lol. The wife got the steamer all set up and was the one who tackled the dirt. She was very happy with the ease it cleaned up the floor. Using the small attachments she steam cleaned our mud room tile floor also.. Nice... She then turned to things like the stove vent which honestly was neglected a bit over time. The steamer cleaned up the grease like nothing. Our next step it's to see how it does with the ceiling fans. Short and sweet is we haven't had an issue yet that this steamer did not tackle successfully.

    Solid Mop + More

This is a good steam mop that seems to get the job done pretty well. First thing I noticed when trying it out the first time is that you have to give the mop time to heat up and then pull the trigger for the steam and give it a minute to really start working. You'll hear a difference in the sound the mop makes when the steam really starts. At this point, you can start mopping. I had to make a few passes over several spots on my tile floor, but the mop seemed to get all of those. I did have a spot where something spilled under the counter, and at that angle, the mop did have some trouble getting the whole mess cleaned up. However, I did like how smooth the mop was once I got used to it. Something else to note (as this is my first time using a steam mop): they recommend that you use distilled water instead of tap. I didn't have distilled water so I used tap anyway. The smell that came from the steam was very strong (could also be because it was first time use). But based on that and the recommendation from Bissell, probably better to use distilled water if you can. Among other things, it's supposed to make the mop last longer. As stated, a solid mop that does get the job done. Plus, it does have a lot of other features and tools for various jobs. Overall a good product that I recommend.

As can be seen by the Technical Insider Network label nearby, I was given a unit at no charge in exchange for an unbiased review. While the Bissell Steam Mop is not going to replace your regular mop (which, incidentally, I would recommend one of Bissell's own in their lineup), for those areas either on the floor or above the floor that are stubborn messes to deal with, this could be the unit for you. The device is predominantly of a hand-held form-factor, and in spite of housing a water heater, isn't the heaviest device to deal with (I'd say it clocks in around 5 - 7 pounds). Once water is poured into the device, it can then be plugged in, and 30 seconds later, water is heated and ready for either "light" or "heavy" usage (meaning when the trigger is pulled, "puffs" of steam are extruded in slow or fast succession, respectively). The attachments that come with the Steam Mop are more than adequate to cover even the most hard-to-get crevices. However, in all respects, since we are dealing with hot steam, it's always a good idea to attempt any cleaning/scrubbing in a smaller, inconspicuous spot first to see if the results are to your liking. So far, I've tried the Steam Mop on grout, tile, baseboards and hardwood flooring -- all without issue, and with great results. The caveat to this is that while there is a wand attachment that essentially turns the Steam Mop into a full-fledged mop, Bissell only provides two micro-fiber mop sleeves (which get soiled pretty quickly), so while this isn't a complaint by any stretch, it's to provide context that this device is really meant for tougher areas to deal with. For full-fledged mopping, I'd recommend going with another device that's specifically for larger-scale floor cleaning. But for harder-to-reach or smaller areas, the Bissell Steam Mop is more than adequate to get the job done.

I'm a newbie with steam mops, so the first thing I'd want to know when shopping is, "why do I need this?" I've been using this, trying the different attachments and on different surfaces, and I find that this does stuff that nothing else does. It cleans my kitchen and bathroom floors with just water, so I don't have to keep cleaning stuff on hand, and it does a great job. There's even a scrubber mop for tougher sticky messes. It gets into those difficult gaps like the gaps and edges of your faucets, the deep corners of your microwave and other metal appliances, and it pulls the wrinkles out of my dress shirts! Setup was really easy. It comes with a variety of tools. The instructions are really brief so I'm doing some amount of trial and error for how to use which attachment and for what. It comes with a tool hanger! That keeps it organized. I'm really impressed with the quality of construction and the thought behind the usage and functionality. Pros: Easy to set up Easy to use very effective Great quality and construction Tools organizer Generous water reservoir Washable and reusable mops Uses plain water, don't have to buy cleaning fluids Cons: Instructions are vague No hose, so there's not enough flexibility to clean the walls and top inside the microwave or other appliances

    Chemical free hard surface sanitizer

Easily steam clean and sanitize bathroom floors and hard surfaces. Toss the bonnet into the laundry on steam sanitize setting to keep them fresh. My washing machine seems to be keeping the floor bonnet clean. I wasn't sure how easy it would be to keep the bonnets clean. Similar to my Bissell dual head floor scrubber. Works great on the bathroom floor. Does a good job on sticky grime due to the steam action. I recommend for chemical free (green) sanitizing. Extra long heavy gauge cord, like a steam iron. Handles and accessories snap on easily. Easy fill measure cup included as are many useful bonnets and brushes. Handy storage on bottom of base. Also, wall mount for safely storing as unit is top heavy and won't stand on its own. A little heavy to use on the ceramic wall tile in the bath tub. Didn't seem to get the grout any cleaner than using other methods. Time will tell. Also, you must use mineral free water, such as distilled.

It's a Steamer and it Works

I wondered if a steamer would do a better job cleaning the floors in my house. This steamer does a good job cleaning floor surface. It comes with grout attachments however, this is not the miracle tool to easily clean grout. In fact, I have not seen a tool that can do it. This item cleaned my floors well, just as good as a mop but a mop mop with disposable pads is much easier and quicker to use. The benefit of the steamer is no chemicals are used and it is a natural way of cleaning. Attachments are included and it comes with a wall mount. This is a good product. I didn't see anything spectacular but don't perceive three stars as negative.

    Way better than a mop

This steam mop works very well. It comes with 2 mop heads(a scrub one and smooth one). and several tool attachments. The mop also comes with an attachment to keep all of the tools clipped to the bottom of the steam mop. It's definitely kept me from losing all of the small attachments. The mop functions well. Fill it up with distilled water and it heats up in about 30 seconds and is ready to go. There are two power settings to adjust the amount of steam that comes out of the mop. You pick one setting and then pull the trigger to get the steam to start. It did a good job on my hardwood floors, got all the gunk up off the floor and didn't leave a wet floor like a wet mop, which was great. All of the attachments click on and off really easy and can be changed in seconds. It's light and easy to hold. The cord is plenty long enough to get even a fairly large room without changing plugs. Overall a great product and a huge improvement over a wet mop.

This steam mop is great!! I was skeptical with it's versatility at replacing so many other cleaning tools but it's well worth it! Out of the box, it's easy to setup and use and comes with two floor cleaning pads along with the attachments which are conveniently stored in the bottom of the unit so it's easy to get to them as you're cleaning. Starting it up takes hardly any time at all and works great on my hardwood and tile floors leaving the house smelling clean and the floors looking great. The pads are easily washed in washer and are well made so should last for quite some time before needing to be replaced. My favorite thing about this steam mop is being able to use it for other things like cleaning the bathtubs to knockout grime and mildew and using it to clean a microwave and my stove (you know that hard to clean grime from grease it made it easy to clean right up- very impressed!). So it's probably the most versatile tool that we have for cleaning! Cleaning with steam was much cleaner and easier than using all of the other scrub brushes and cleaners/tools that you'd use to clean with so I would highly recommend one of these to anyone that uses a mop and not just that with this unit where it can be used to steam clean just about anything. In fact, our mop is now gone because of this machine. Highly recommend! Pros: Ease of use Versatile uses of steam for cleaning (bathrooms, kitchens, appliances, the list goes on!) Fast heat up, steam is ready quick Adjustable Washable replacement pads included Convenient storage Cons: None that I was able to find since I have used it

Best Steam Mop I've ever used!

I've actually used a lot of steam mops in my day (this will be my fifth by my count) and I can say that this one is my favorite hands down. The versatility and cleaning power of this steam mop totally outweighs the few drawbacks I've found. The mop itself is a nifty design. The water and power are all in the handle (almost like a handheld vacuum). There is an extension wand, and a "foot piece." Out of the box these easily assemble to form a fairly standard steam mop. It works well and cleaned our wood floor very well upon first use. There are two steam options--a "standard" setting and a "heavy duty" settting. Standard seems to be fine, though I've found myself using heavy duty more often than not. That option does use water faster. The great design of the handheld piece is what allows the versatility. You can remove the wand and just use the handheld piece and the foot piece to clean granite or marble counters, or shower walls, or really anything that can stand up to steam. There's also a FANTASTIC assortment of accessories that come with it for cleaning virtually anything. I've used the grout cleaning tool and scraping tool so far, and both work great. There is also a scrubbing tool, and a few other tools I haven't needed to use yet. The most important tools clip right onto the back of the handheld piece, and there's a bag for storing anything left. The mop even comes with a wall-mounting bracket for easy storage. There are only a couple of minor inconveniences that I've found, and really they haven't bothered me at all. The water reservoir is a little small. It comes with a cup to fill, but my sink is deep enough that I've been able to fill it directly from my kitchen faucet (the hand piece is a bit too large for a bathroom sink). There's no convenient place to store the fill cup so I see that getting lost kind of easily. The cord storage is also a bit awkward. Since the wand is removable there's no bracket like most steam mops and vacuums come with. The cord has a velcro strap to help alleviate this, but it still just sort of hangs there. Depending on your level of OCD this might really bother you. Overall this is easily the most versatile and convenient steam mop I've ever used. I highly recommend it!

    Pretty good for laminate floors

This is a pretty neat item - our local store had them on clearance for under $100. We have thick laminate floors at work and this works well on it. There's a normal and heavy steam setting, with normal being for general cleaning and heavy needed for those odd sticky thingies on the floor. Water lasted through a 2,000 square foot office floor space area. Extra pads and even some scented stuff you can add to the water can be ordered online - it comes with two that can be washed but I'd suggest having another pair around. Good again for laminate and tile but I've been told you should avoid steam cleaners on "real" hardwood floors.
