Customers consistently note the ProHeat 2X Revolution Pet Pro Plus Carpet Cleaner's excellent cleaning performance and ease of use, with many praising its effectiveness on pet hair and lightweight design. However, some users point out that the water tank is on the small side and the machine can be quite loud during operation. A few also mention that the price point may be considered high by some consumers.

Best Carpet Cleaner I have used

I really love this carpet cleaner. Believe it or not, one of my dogs actually got sick and made a mess of the carpet the day before this arrived. What timing. As you can imagine I was eager to use this to see what it could do.
Set up was pretty simple. I only had a little difficulty installing the handle. I might have been the angle so pay close attention to that. Other than that I simply followed the directions and it was a breeze.
I have had carpet cleaners in the past and still have a portable one, but this is defiantly the best to date.
Your clean water solution goes in the top container which is very simple to fill and attach. The dirty water is in the container below. Also easy to remove and empty.
I cleaned my daughter’s room first and it did a really nice job. Wow, was the water was dirty. I did fill the container with the cleaning solution and water to the top and used all of it. So if you plan on cleaning you whole house, you will need to fill multiple times. (No different than s rental machine) I think I would have done the rest of the house if I hadn’t recently had some major surgery, so once fully healed I will clean the rest of the rooms. The unit is heavier than a vacuum and seems to be built quite well.
You will notice that no matter how well you vacuum first, you will get a lot of pet fur showing up on the carpet once it gets wet. I had a garbage can nearby to toss the balls of fur as I went so I didn’t suck them back up.
The dual brushes really clean and lift the carpet nicely. Bissell markets the fact that this will clean better than the leading rental and I will have to agree.
Clean up is pretty easy as well. You can remove the area the water gets sucked up and the roller covers in case hair gets wrapped around them. Bissell also provides a flexible tool to remove any pet fur stuck in the intake, so they thought of everything.
There is even a Clean Shot button you can depress to shoot a stream of solution onto a tough spot. Works well, but keep your foot on the button because it almost works too fast.
This unit also has a hose you can connect to the top of the head unit for small cleanup spots. Works good and no need then to clean the larger head unit. I did have a little trouble getting the chemical to spray from the Dry/Wet attachment at first. I then reattached and it seemed to work fine. I will say I let the standard smaller attachment when using this hose better for the small area I did.
Overall, I really like this machine. Don’ t hesitate to purchase if you are in the market.

Cleans well.
You might have to go over really dirty carpet twice. And the water moves pretty fast through it. But the end result is worth it and will have your house smelling sooo much better if you have pets.
You don’t realize how dirty your carpet gets or what a difference it makes until you use this!

If you have pets or even if you don't this is the carpet cleaning machine to get. Whoever designed this was brilliant and practical. Number one is this machine does a superior job cleaning carpets. I've had many other carpet cleaners and not one came close to functionality, cleaning power and clean-up. Most cleaners use rotating heads and that's it. Here you have powerful suction, rotating brushes and of course the cleaning solution tank and dirty water tank. I'll try to go chronologically: It is easy to assemble and the documentation includes an assembly card and also a short manual that explains all the functions such as setup and cleaning. First you are advised to vacuum the carpets well, same as any cleaner. You fill the clean water tank and add some cleaning solution (Bissell includes 2 samples which is another nice touch). You will notice when you clean the carpets that the nap comes up due to the powerful suction, and when it is dry you have a clean carpet, clean smell and a kind of newness and puffiness to the carpet - we have pets and my wife also loved this machine. Cleaning is a breeze. The manual shows you how to remove the parts and clearly how to clean and reassemble - a small thin flexible tool for cleaning the nozzle (really wonderful tool) is included. You don't need to remove the rollers as this tool is also used to clean them. You also have very clear directions to replace the belt if needed in the future. One thing I did was to cut the flaps off the top of the box and put some of the packing in and I store the machine in the original box. I took some pictures of the machine taken apart for cleaning and also put away in the box. You also get a hose that attaches near the bottom above the brushes used to clean furniture and steps - how great is that. This is an excellent product and is well designed, the Bissell engineers did a fine job and thought this one out from cleaning the carpet to cleaning the machine itself which is also very important. Bissell also included a bag to hold all the attachments. Great.

The Bissell pro heat 2X pet pro includes everything you need to deep clean your carpets.
Upon opening the box and removing the contents, everything was nicely packed and quality made, not cheap flimsy materials.
The Pro heat 2X was extremely easy to put together(5 minutes). The only tool needed was a Phillips screwdriver for one screw.
It comes with a detachable hose for upholstery or hard to get places like steps or under furniture. The hose can be attached on the front of the unit by the brushes and is easily attached/unattached.
There are two hose nozzles, one is a standard brush for wet spray that comes with all models, for the pet pro, the additional attachment can be used for wet or dry conditions. I like the fact that when you are finished with the pet tool, the front pops off to allow for hair removal as with past shampooers I have had issues cleaning all of the hair out of the non removable pieces. The Main unit also allows for the front to be opened for additional pet hair removal (something that previous or lesser models do not have) (I love this)
The attachments are stored in a net bag not on the unit. This is good as you will no longer having troubles with dragging or knocking off the hose and have to stop to put it back on the unit. Having it stored away makes things more easy. Bissell must have been listening to their users.
The water tank is on the top of the unit making it easy to remove and fill with water. The handy fill cap doesn't even need to be removed for adding soap(with purchased special designed Bissell soaps), you just push the bottle down until the desired amount is dispersed. The return tank is located under the fresh water tank. The tank is easily removed for emptying by pushing down on a lever which also acts as handle.
The unit has 3 settings for cleaning carpet, Deep, medium and express (express promises drying in about an hour)
I ran a test with deep clean and with express.
The express dried in about an hour like they said and cleaning was satisfactory. Deep clean is to be a deeper, better clean than the machines you can rent at local stores. This unit delivered and I was amazed at the cleaning ability of a home shampooer.
The pet pro also has a spot sprayer that can be used by pressing your foot which sprays out a stream of soap from the front of the unit. Let the spot soak for a few minutes before going over with the shampooer.
Cleaning the unit is super easy. Just wash both tanks out with hot water and dry them (I usually let my sit out for a few hours in the tub to finish drying so I wont put it away wet and it would be musty when used again.)
The return tank allows you to empty all contents for thorough cleaning as well, by flipping the unit upside down and unscrewing a cap that lets you remove the valves and float.
The rollers and container are easily removable by lifting up near the hose attachment. This pops off allowing to clean hair out and can be wiped down. The rollers are easily removable too by pressing down on 2 highly visible green buttons. This allows for the brush cover to be removed and gives you access to the belt and brushes that can be cleaned with the included hair removal tool (plastic stick with groves) This works as it described.
In conclusion the unit is easily more maneuverable and lighter than past models but don't let this fool you. It also cleans noticeably better.
I would not hesitate to tell my family and friends that this gets 2 thumbs up/5 stars It is worth every penny.

Impressive machine

This a definite must have machine for carpet and upholstery cleaner. Renting a the store machine is a bit complicated if you want to clean a lot of items in one day to avoid paying double. For example I wanted to clean in one day my carpets, dining room seats, car seats, or other fabrics. This cleaner comes with every needed to start cleaning; it has accessories such a two different hand held brushes (one regular and one for when there is pet hair), a cup to measure liquid and two sample bottle of Bissell liquid cleaner.
This machine requires a quick and easy assembly which only requires a phillips screwdriver to secure the handle to the machine. Then attached the water + solution tank to the unit. I used warm water to help ease the cleaning.
My first use of this machine was the dirtiest item in my list, my car seats. I got my car in 2006 and the upholstery and carpet are gray/black color. The dark colors camouflage the stains left behind my kids which spilled a lot of drinks through 10 years of road trips we had in this vehicle. For this job, my wife and I were very pleased by how good this machine was able to remove the stain from the seat. The car now smells nice and the seat look very clean. I had to do a few applications because the kids did a good job at spilling a look of drink on their seat. I have included a few before and after pictures. My son was suprised how the Bissell machine was removing spills from his seat that even he joined the cleaning. You can see his hand on one of the images.
Right after finishing the car I jump to the next item on my list, the dining room chairs. These weren’t as bad as the car seat. The Bissell unit, again, did a great job in cleaning upholstery. My was very please that we did the entrance rug and the machine also did a good job. The great thing about this is that we can continue the list another day without spending more money on a rental item. With the rental unit, we would be pressure to do it fast to avoid more than one day rental. I think we did a better job with our Bissell because we took our time. I would definitely recommend this item to anyone who would like to have better looking upholtery.

From what I’ve read, this is the best you can get, but I have a doodle, and all it does is create doodle hair clumps that I have to vacuum up. It also leaves stains on the carpet if you stop it for any length of time so keep a plastic trash bag nearby to set it on. After you deal with all that mess, the carpet is cleaner, which is why it got two stars instead of 1.

This is a review for the BISSELL ProHeat 2X Revolution Pet Pro Upright Deep Cleaner. It certainly looks the part of a great carpet cleaner. It has a lot of well thought out, and easy to use features, but the important question is what can it do for my aging carpets? The carpets that my cat has made a mess out of. The short answer is that it has done a GREAT job! It has really rejuvenated the look, and feel of the carpet and certainly added some more life into it. On top of it all it could not have been easier to use.
When I opened the box I was actually a little intimidated. Containers, hoses, cables, and accessories everywhere! I thought that the assembly was going to be a complicated task, and considering that I had not used one of these before I was not confident in my ability to just figure it out intuitively. To my surprise it was actually a very easy task. The quick start guide had me up, and running in 5 really easy steps. The only tool needed is a philips head screwdriver for a single screw.
The use of the BISSELL is equally easy, and very intuitive. I was impressed to see how easily it soaked, scrubbed, and rinsed my carpets all in one motion. The "Cleanshot" feature worked well for pet stained areas that needed a little extra help - giving them a quick pretreatment of sorts. The included accessories made taking care of the furniture, and stairs a hassle free experience. Best of all the drying time for the carpet was only a few hours. I could not be more pleased with the experience, and the results.
Clean up was super easy. You can tell they put a lot of thought into making the process as painless as possible. Everything easily comes apart to be rinsed off without hassle.
This is the kind of item where when you need one you want it to work well, and last a long time. Judging by the build quality, performance, and name brand of this cleaner I believe it will do just that. I look forward to using it for years to come. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a carpet cleaner. I would recommend it to anyone looking to rejuvenate their carpets, and add longevity to them. Most of all I would recommend it to anyone with pets! Thanks BISSELL!

This cleaner is a pretty good choice over the rental ones. I had a high traffic stained area and using the deep clean mode I was able to get most stains up with one pass and no pre treating. Picture are included. I think the remaining spots will probably come up with a second pass. There's and express mode also with this model that works pretty good. It's more for upkeep instead of tough stains. I noticed pet hair came up even after vacuuming that area really good before hand. I used the hand held attachment for the stairs and that worked well. My arm got a work out but the stains are gone. The hose was the perfect length so that I could do all the stairs without having to relocate the main body. Bissell cleaner is about $20 at the store which is pretty much the going rate. I thought that it brought a little life into my old carpet. I can't really think of anything negative. I gave it only 4 stars just because I'll have to go over the area again to get up more stains.

Your carpet will never be clean. I have owned this product for less than a week, made 5 passes (first two with shampoo, last 3 max water rinse) and my living room still smells like cat pee. We have 1 cat. I used the urine bottle included and bissel pet odor bottle. On the 5th pass I am still pulling up dirt and shampoo (I only had water in the resivor and cleaned all components of the machine between passes).
I need to hire a professional next week to undo what this machine did and eliminate the cat urine.
Photo is my 5th pass in 4 days. I had water only, there should be no soap in the carpet. It's a terrible extractor.

Step 3 has a screw going into a post to secure the carry handle. The post was not drilled or tapped. Instead of ordering a new one I used a 3/32" drill to drill a hole in the post. The screw then tapped the hole. Recommend that anybody buying this unit having it assembled at the store so you don't have to make a round trip and return it or fix it. If mine was defective, then there's others out there too.

Unless you live in an older home, you'll most likly will have wood or laminated floors but with any personalized home, I have a rug piece where I spend a lot of my time walking over, eating snacks, sitting and just watching TV; because this is rug sees a lot of traffic it has quite the stains a few stains and odors from my pets.... Yes... my pets.
The Bissell ProHeat 2X out of the box was easy to assemble just a few steps and you're done. Instructions were easy to read and understand. Only tool you'll need is a screw driver.
Cleaning was also easy to read and understand. You fill the clean tank with hot tap water from your faucet and 2.5 Oz of your choice of Bissell cleaner (the ProHeat 2X comes with trail samples), then you start cleaning, it really intuitive. Looking at my rug, I knew it was a bit dirty but I didn't realize how dirty it was until I emptied the dirty tank. Pictures included. Overall I would highly recommend this cleaner.

I have had multiple family members & friends borrow this & they just absolutely love the quality of it & how well it works. I also really love this as well! Great suction, thorough cleaning, 3 modes, dries quickly, blow dryer incorporated feature. Very loud though but totally worth it! One downfall is that the brush roll doesnt stop spinning even if you're using the handheld attachment hose

After my dog staying inside during the winter my carpets were a mess I thought I might have to replace them. I normally rent a carpet cleaner from one of the hardware stores but it is near half the cost of this product so opted to buy this machine instead of renting this time. To my amazement this machine did exactly as advertised my carpets looked like new again despite there being a large amount of dirt and pet hair. Now comes the real test I thought cleaning the machine would be the real test and believe me it was filthy. This machine disassembles and and assembles so easy it looked like new again after cleaning. It is so easy to use and clean after use I will use it several times a year now. For me this machine was the best purchase I have made this year and well worth the price.

I purchased this cleaner after my old one broke a while back. I was on the fence with which one to buy. After reading reviews and watching videos this one seemed to be the best fit. We were about to get a new rug but wanted to see if I could get it clean. This cleaner did a great job, money well spent. The only issue I have is the tank is smaller so you need to do more water changes. Other then that the proof is in the pudding so to speak.

I am very pleased with this purchase. Everything that I didn't like about my old bissell cleaner has been improved and is no longer a problem. Very lightweight and easy to clean out. Some might complain that the tank is smaller but it is so easy to empty and fill. Speaking of the easy fill that is also simply amazing, no measuring or mess with the cleaner. Also enjoy the express clean setting. I honestly have zero complaints.

Powerful carpet cleaner

This machine does an amazing job cleaning my carpets! The double brushes really make a huge difference. Also, the machine heats the cleaning solution way hotter than my last carpet cleaner, it almost seems like steam. The dingy grey coating on my rug is completely gone and I have the original color back. It is better than professional. And the rug really dries in 4 to 6 hours, not days like my last one. It really sucks the water out of the rug. I only wish there was a machine like this for stairs. The stair attachment is only 3 inches and my staircase is way to big to do by hand. Even the 6-inch attachment you can buy would not be adequate. And I could never scrub by hand as well as those 2x brushes. Does an outstanding job cleaning rugs, but needs a more powerful answer for stairs. I definitely recommend this machine!
