The Bissell pro heat 2X pet pro includes everything you need to deep clean your carpets. Upon opening the box and removing the contents, everything was nicely packed and quality made, not cheap flimsy materials. The Pro heat 2X was extremely easy to put together(5 minutes). The only tool needed was a Phillips screwdriver for one screw. It comes with a detachable hose for upholstery or hard to get places like steps or under furniture. The hose can be attached on the front of the unit by the brushes and is easily attached/unattached. There are two hose nozzles, one is a standard brush for wet spray that comes with all models, for the pet pro, the additional attachment can be used for wet or dry conditions. I like the fact that when you are finished with the pet tool, the front pops off to allow for hair removal as with past shampooers I have had issues cleaning all of the hair out of the non removable pieces. The Main unit also allows for the front to be opened for additional pet hair removal (something that previous or lesser models do not have) (I love this) The attachments are stored in a net bag not on the unit. This is good as you will no longer having troubles with dragging or knocking off the hose and have to stop to put it back on the unit. Having it stored away makes things more easy. Bissell must have been listening to their users. The water tank is on the top of the unit making it easy to remove and fill with water. The handy fill cap doesn't even need to be removed for adding soap(with purchased special designed Bissell soaps), you just push the bottle down until the desired amount is dispersed. The return tank is located under the fresh water tank. The tank is easily removed for emptying by pushing down on a lever which also acts as handle. The unit has 3 settings for cleaning carpet, Deep, medium and express (express promises drying in about an hour) I ran a test with deep clean and with express. The express dried in about an hour like they said and cleaning was satisfactory. Deep clean is to be a deeper, better clean than the machines you can rent at local stores. This unit delivered and I was amazed at the cleaning ability of a home shampooer. The pet pro also has a spot sprayer that can be used by pressing your foot which sprays out a stream of soap from the front of the unit. Let the spot soak for a few minutes before going over with the shampooer. Cleaning the unit is super easy. Just wash both tanks out with hot water and dry them (I usually let my sit out for a few hours in the tub to finish drying so I wont put it away wet and it would be musty when used again.) The return tank allows you to empty all contents for thorough cleaning as well, by flipping the unit upside down and unscrewing a cap that lets you remove the valves and float. The rollers and container are easily removable by lifting up near the hose attachment. This pops off allowing to clean hair out and can be wiped down. The rollers are easily removable too by pressing down on 2 highly visible green buttons. This allows for the brush cover to be removed and gives you access to the belt and brushes that can be cleaned with the included hair removal tool (plastic stick with groves) This works as it described. In conclusion the unit is easily more maneuverable and lighter than past models but don't let this fool you. It also cleans noticeably better. I would not hesitate to tell my family and friends that this gets 2 thumbs up/5 stars It is worth every penny.

The Bissell ProHeat 2X Revolution Pet Pro has been a great addition to my floor cleaning arsenal. Living in a home with 2 dogs, you have to deep clean the carpets from time to time. My dogs almost never have “accidents” but there is still a good amount of pet hair and dander that comes with having them around. Renting a carpet cleaner can be a hassle and the cost of doing that over time adds up quickly. If you are a pet owner, owning a good carpet cleaner just makes sense. This Bissell came neatly packaged using cardboard inserts rather than styrofoam, this makes for a clean unpacking experience and an easy to recycle clean up. The unit was easy to assemble, requiring a phillips head screwdriver for one step. The instructions are clear and easy to read. There are two separate water tanks, one for clean water and one for dirty. Filling the cleaning solution tank and mixing the cleaning solution is simple. The tank pulls out and fits nicely in my kitchen sink. This model came with two trial size cleaning solutions which should be enough to deep clean 2-3 medium size rooms depending on use. The dirty water tank also removes from the unit easily, has a handle and is easy to empty. Operating the Bissel was a breeze. Just press a button on the handle when you want it to release cleaner (wet pass) and release the button when you want it to suck up fluid (dry pass). For deep clean mode the instruction booklet recommends 2 slow wet passes, 1 forward and 1 back then 2 slow dry passes, 1 forward and 1 back. For the express clean mode it recommends 2 wet passes, 1 forward and 1 back then 2 dry passes, 1 forward and 1 back. There is also a nice Cleanshot feature that allows you to spray a stream of cleaner out of the front of the unit head onto the floor. This is a good feature to use before you start cleaning to pretreat small heavily soiled areas. I was pleasantly surprised at just how much pet hair it was able to pull out of my carpets. Before using the Bissell for a deep clean of my carpets I was sure to thoroughly vacuum everything. Even after a thorough vacuuming the Bissell picked up a considerable amount of pet hair, hair that I would have never noticed before. Along with all the hair that was pulled out of my carpets, the water was very dirty, much more than when I use a rental unit. The carpets came out looking much cleaner than before. Overall they are brighter, look somewhat renewed and smell much better. Clean up was a breeze. Almost everything disassembled so that you can reach the areas that need cleaned. There are a couple hard to reach areas where debris can get stuck but Bissell included a tool to help you reach those spots. All of the pieces were easy to rinse off in my kitchen sink, dry off with a towel and put back together. Overall I am very happy with the Bissell ProHeat 2X Revolution Pet Pro. The only other carpet cleaners I’ve used have been rentals but I can say with absolute certainty that this unit outperforms any of them. I will recommend this unit to friends.

I really love this carpet cleaner. Believe it or not, one of my dogs actually got sick and made a mess of the carpet the day before this arrived. What timing. As you can imagine I was eager to use this to see what it could do. Set up was pretty simple. I only had a little difficulty installing the handle. I might have been the angle so pay close attention to that. Other than that I simply followed the directions and it was a breeze. I have had carpet cleaners in the past and still have a portable one, but this is defiantly the best to date. Your clean water solution goes in the top container which is very simple to fill and attach. The dirty water is in the container below. Also easy to remove and empty. I cleaned my daughter’s room first and it did a really nice job. Wow, was the water was dirty. I did fill the container with the cleaning solution and water to the top and used all of it. So if you plan on cleaning you whole house, you will need to fill multiple times. (No different than s rental machine) I think I would have done the rest of the house if I hadn’t recently had some major surgery, so once fully healed I will clean the rest of the rooms. The unit is heavier than a vacuum and seems to be built quite well. You will notice that no matter how well you vacuum first, you will get a lot of pet fur showing up on the carpet once it gets wet. I had a garbage can nearby to toss the balls of fur as I went so I didn’t suck them back up. The dual brushes really clean and lift the carpet nicely. Bissell markets the fact that this will clean better than the leading rental and I will have to agree. Clean up is pretty easy as well. You can remove the area the water gets sucked up and the roller covers in case hair gets wrapped around them. Bissell also provides a flexible tool to remove any pet fur stuck in the intake, so they thought of everything. There is even a Clean Shot button you can depress to shoot a stream of solution onto a tough spot. Works well, but keep your foot on the button because it almost works too fast. This unit also has a hose you can connect to the top of the head unit for small cleanup spots. Works good and no need then to clean the larger head unit. I did have a little trouble getting the chemical to spray from the Dry/Wet attachment at first. I then reattached and it seemed to work fine. I will say I let the standard smaller attachment when using this hose better for the small area I did. Overall, I really like this machine. Don’ t hesitate to purchase if you are in the market.

    Negatives outweigh the positives

My family consists of, two west highland terriers, an orange cat, my husband and I. About 1,000 square feet of our house is white carpeting. We mostly battle muddy footprints, occasional "accidents" and food/ drink mishaps. I usually do a large steam cleaning session about once a month during rainy/snowy months and spot treat in the interim. So, my Hoover Power Scrub (6 years old) stopped working and I wanted to start a full carpet scrub down, stat. So, I saw that the Bissell ProHeat X2 Revolution Pet Pro was at my local Best Buy and it had good reviews. I have found some true negatives about this machine and I have to return it soon (or I won't be able to)! Negatives: 1. LEAKING DIRTY WATER DURING CLEAN WATER REFILL AND DIRTY WATER DUMPING TIMES After a spot treatment using the main unit (not the hose or anything) and it's time to dump the dirty water, the unit gets left on the carpet... When I come back, I see a big spot of dirty water where the bristles were. So, this is all right if I'm just going to come back and keep shampooing, but at this point, I only wanted to do a spot treatment, and I wasn't going to be back to clean up the "leaked" dirty water :( - As a test, I tried letting the machine rest on a plastic computer chair rolling pad, to see if maybe the carpet was siphoning the water out of the rollers. It still leaked on the plastic, and not only did it still leak but when I picked it up and moved it a couple hours later, it left a trail of dirty water across my carpet! In this experiment, I didn't rinse the bristle cover for experimental purposes because there are so many times that I do let the machine sit while I run and do something else for a bit without disassembling and rinsing everything out. Lesson learned: I can't have a finicky, high maintenance machine that HAS to be disassembled and rinsed at every stopping point. 2. DOESN'T LET ME RINSE THE CARPET WHEN I WANT TO I have developed a very particular method since I clean so often! I like doing one row of shampooing and go back through and do one row of rinsing. The problem is that the tank on this machine is the type that you put the cleaner and water in the same tank, so in order to rinse, I have to wait until the tank is empty which means I have to walk on the wet carpet over and over again because one tank does not equal one row! To be fair, the Bissell solution I was using had scotch guard in it, and it is advised not to do a rinsing row because it defeats the scotch guard effect... However, the idea of not rinsing gives me nightmares, so I did the rinse row anyway and the water still came out really soapy from the carpet which means soap would have just sat in my carpet if I didn't rinse it. (I do have a cringy story about guests being over and spilling water on dry, unrinsed carpet if anyone is interested) So, because I value rinsed carpet I absolutely need that divided tank that my Hoover had. 3. WATER COMES OUT OF THE BOTTOM AND TOP OF THE DIRTY WATER CONTAINER The dirty water container has a hole on the bottom that allows the dirty water to enter the container during the cleaning process, and a plastic float thing is designed to cover the hole when the container is in the upright position while carrying. But, there is a purgatory time. This float/ hole cover thing falls towards the dispensing hole while you are dumping your dirty water in your toilet. This is where it get's exciting. The float is still hanging out closer to the top part of the container not protecting the hole, but you're done dumping the water so you turn the container right side up (there's still water in the container because the shape is funky and water gets caught in pockets.) The area directly to the left side of your toilet becomes a splash zone and gets good and moist. Good news though: Now you have gotten all of the water out of the container, and it's really ready to be filled back up with dirty water! Oh, and if you were planning on flood mopping your bathroom, well, it's a two birds situation, because you just got a section done! 3.5 ALSO, THE PLUG AT THE TOP OF THE DIRTY WATER CONTAINER IS NOT VERY USER-FRIENDLY But, I'm sure one could get used to it. 4. THE WATER IS NOT AS DIRTY AS THE HOOVER WATER WOULD BE! Last negative, I noticed that the water comes out like kind of what clear-ish chocolate milk would look like, just murky brown. When I cleaned with my Hoover it came out like dark brown, I don't want to gross everyone out, but there have been times when the darkness of the water scared me. Positives: 1. IT CLEANS WELL Something I really liked about this cleaner is that even though I vacuum before shampooing the carpets, I get a good amount of fuzz and dirt specks (Imagine SMALL rocks) in the dirty water and bristle cover. And it reminded me of something... OH! It reminded me of when my Hoover was brand new, it did the same thing. As the Hoover's bristles wore down, it didn't scrub as aggressively and had stopped grabbing these types of particles out of the carpet. (Ugh, I didn't mean for this to sound like a Hoover commercial) 2. THE LOW PROFILE OF THE HEAD OF THE CLEANER Yes, this aspect of the Bissell is why I have not returned it yet, it's so nice to be able to get under our sofa tables and coffee tables! I'm going to miss this, Bissell had their thinking caps on with this part of the design.

This Bissell steam carpet cleaner arrived at the perfect time! Our carpet was overdue for some cleaning due to our two dogs, one cat, and one hyper 2-yr-old toddler running around constantly depositing dirt, grime, coconut oil, milk, snacks, juice, chocolate, and other stuff all around the house. The setup was super simple. Pop in the handle, screw in the carry handle, pop in the two containers (one that houses the hot water & cleaning solution and the other that houses the dirty water), and start cleaning. The solutions that come inside the box isn't enough to clean even a small bedroom. Luckily, I already had some cleaning chemicals so I did our entire 2-bedroom house including the living room. Compared to my older Hoover SteamVac unit (see picture), the Bissell ProHeat 2X was much easier to use. It is a little bit lighter, easier to maneuver under tables and desks, and easier to carry around due to the convenient location of the carry handle. The dirty and clean water containers are also much easier to pop-out and pop back in. With the Hoover unit, I had to unlatch two arms, tilt the machine backwards without having it tip over and dropping to the floor, and pop it out. With this Bissell unit, I just press down on the purple latch and slide it out. So easy!! As for the cleaning power and ability, it is pretty good. It surprisingly cleaned up all of the coconut oil that was spilled by my toddler on the living room carpet. In one of the bedrooms, the Bissell was able to take out some grime that the Hoover unit couldn't. Both machines were using the same set of cleaning chemicals and boosters. I didn't get a chance to use all the extra accessories but they look very easy to use (pop-in and pop-out) and maintain. I'm very satisfied with the Bissell ProHeat 2x's cleaning power, ease of use, and performance. I highly recommend it.

Presentation - The redesigned approach Bissell has taken on this line demonstrates a commitment to product improvement. There’s no doubt about it. The assembly process is quick and easy. The maintenance aspect features are thoughtful and easy to use because of modularity of the design. And the procedures to actually use the cleaner are simple and straight forward. There are some that comment how lightweight this unit is but I would simply state that this unit is of average weight and maneuverability. There is nothing astoundingly light weight in the feel of this unit and in fact, on moderately plush carpet – coupled with the fact that it has some strong extraction force – it feels heavy and can be tiresome to use over prolonged period of time. That is to say, if you’re tackling several rooms in the same day. Another glaringly painful aspect of this unit is the fact that Bissell insists on using the ‘Proheat’ marketing angle for this unit – but if you dig into the specifications there is not onboard heater unit. The ‘heat’ comes from the faucet. To me that is borderline false advertising when you consider their previous generations of Bissell machines. The inclusion of so many attachments should also please any pet owner looking for an effective cleaning machine that is powerful and flexible to use. Initial Setup- Again, assembly is quite easy and the instructions are clear & simple. You snap in the handle, set the single retaining screw and insert the two reservoirs. Done. Performance - Having used Bissell products regularly over the past 20 or so odd years, I was eager to try this new product out. Upon first use, I went to a newer section of carpet in our home that is in structurally excellent condition but suffers from the most foot traffic – thereby making it quite dirty. I used the Express mode to test the unit’s ability to clean in this efficient mode and to see how quickly the carpet would dry. On this tile inset carpet area – approx 16’ by 16’ in size – I was able to completely cover the area twice, using about 75% of the supply (clean water + solution) reservoir with solid results. The results were remarkable, with a good as new looking carpet pile and it was dry in less than an hour – as promised. I really can’t say enough good things about this Express mode. It truly works without saturating the carpet, using so little water and drying so quickly. This mode alone is worth the price of admission for this cleaning machine. Next we moved to the older carpet, high traffic areas in our home that have seen better days. Most notably was the disaster area commonly known as a teenager’s bedroom. In the normal cleaning mode, this machine work magic nothing short of a miracle. Certainly a lot more clean water + solution was laid down thereby extending the dry time to a few hours but the deep cleaning achievements of this product greatly exceeded our expectations. The carpet pile came back to life – even better than the last time we had the same area professionally cleaned. Again, this unit has powerful suction capability, so that in combination with the average build weight makes this cleaner anything but nimble but I would also comment that it is not TOO heavy either. Just don’t expect feather light operation on average to deep pile carpet. One last thing, in operation, this cleaner puts out an average amount of noise. It is by no means quiet. Summary- Easy to setup and use. Express mode is truly amazing, producing excellent results with a minimal amount of water used and a dry time as good as they promise. Full strength carpet cleaning in the normal mode with equally excellent results. About as loud as the average consumer carpet cleaning machine. Not as lightweight as being described by some folks but also not too terribly heavy. Misleading “Proheat” marketing is unfortunate as there is no onboard heating element. Excellent 5 year warranty. I recommend this product to everyone looking for a quality product, especially pet owners.

This a definite must have machine for carpet and upholstery cleaner. Renting a the store machine is a bit complicated if you want to clean a lot of items in one day to avoid paying double. For example I wanted to clean in one day my carpets, dining room seats, car seats, or other fabrics. This cleaner comes with every needed to start cleaning; it has accessories such a two different hand held brushes (one regular and one for when there is pet hair), a cup to measure liquid and two sample bottle of Bissell liquid cleaner. This machine requires a quick and easy assembly which only requires a phillips screwdriver to secure the handle to the machine. Then attached the water + solution tank to the unit. I used warm water to help ease the cleaning. My first use of this machine was the dirtiest item in my list, my car seats. I got my car in 2006 and the upholstery and carpet are gray/black color. The dark colors camouflage the stains left behind my kids which spilled a lot of drinks through 10 years of road trips we had in this vehicle. For this job, my wife and I were very pleased by how good this machine was able to remove the stain from the seat. The car now smells nice and the seat look very clean. I had to do a few applications because the kids did a good job at spilling a look of drink on their seat. I have included a few before and after pictures. My son was suprised how the Bissell machine was removing spills from his seat that even he joined the cleaning. You can see his hand on one of the images. Right after finishing the car I jump to the next item on my list, the dining room chairs. These weren’t as bad as the car seat. The Bissell unit, again, did a great job in cleaning upholstery. My was very please that we did the entrance rug and the machine also did a good job. The great thing about this is that we can continue the list another day without spending more money on a rental item. With the rental unit, we would be pressure to do it fast to avoid more than one day rental. I think we did a better job with our Bissell because we took our time. I would definitely recommend this item to anyone who would like to have better looking upholtery.

This is a review for the BISSELL ProHeat 2X Revolution Pet Pro Upright Deep Cleaner. It certainly looks the part of a great carpet cleaner. It has a lot of well thought out, and easy to use features, but the important question is what can it do for my aging carpets? The carpets that my cat has made a mess out of. The short answer is that it has done a GREAT job! It has really rejuvenated the look, and feel of the carpet and certainly added some more life into it. On top of it all it could not have been easier to use. When I opened the box I was actually a little intimidated. Containers, hoses, cables, and accessories everywhere! I thought that the assembly was going to be a complicated task, and considering that I had not used one of these before I was not confident in my ability to just figure it out intuitively. To my surprise it was actually a very easy task. The quick start guide had me up, and running in 5 really easy steps. The only tool needed is a philips head screwdriver for a single screw. The use of the BISSELL is equally easy, and very intuitive. I was impressed to see how easily it soaked, scrubbed, and rinsed my carpets all in one motion. The "Cleanshot" feature worked well for pet stained areas that needed a little extra help - giving them a quick pretreatment of sorts. The included accessories made taking care of the furniture, and stairs a hassle free experience. Best of all the drying time for the carpet was only a few hours. I could not be more pleased with the experience, and the results. Clean up was super easy. You can tell they put a lot of thought into making the process as painless as possible. Everything easily comes apart to be rinsed off without hassle. This is the kind of item where when you need one you want it to work well, and last a long time. Judging by the build quality, performance, and name brand of this cleaner I believe it will do just that. I look forward to using it for years to come. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a carpet cleaner. I would recommend it to anyone looking to rejuvenate their carpets, and add longevity to them. Most of all I would recommend it to anyone with pets! Thanks BISSELL!

If you have pets or even if you don't this is the carpet cleaning machine to get. Whoever designed this was brilliant and practical. Number one is this machine does a superior job cleaning carpets. I've had many other carpet cleaners and not one came close to functionality, cleaning power and clean-up. Most cleaners use rotating heads and that's it. Here you have powerful suction, rotating brushes and of course the cleaning solution tank and dirty water tank. I'll try to go chronologically: It is easy to assemble and the documentation includes an assembly card and also a short manual that explains all the functions such as setup and cleaning. First you are advised to vacuum the carpets well, same as any cleaner. You fill the clean water tank and add some cleaning solution (Bissell includes 2 samples which is another nice touch). You will notice when you clean the carpets that the nap comes up due to the powerful suction, and when it is dry you have a clean carpet, clean smell and a kind of newness and puffiness to the carpet - we have pets and my wife also loved this machine. Cleaning is a breeze. The manual shows you how to remove the parts and clearly how to clean and reassemble - a small thin flexible tool for cleaning the nozzle (really wonderful tool) is included. You don't need to remove the rollers as this tool is also used to clean them. You also have very clear directions to replace the belt if needed in the future. One thing I did was to cut the flaps off the top of the box and put some of the packing in and I store the machine in the original box. I took some pictures of the machine taken apart for cleaning and also put away in the box. You also get a hose that attaches near the bottom above the brushes used to clean furniture and steps - how great is that. This is an excellent product and is well designed, the Bissell engineers did a fine job and thought this one out from cleaning the carpet to cleaning the machine itself which is also very important. Bissell also included a bag to hold all the attachments. Great.

Who knew a Dalmatian would shed so much fur all over the house. And who knew the Bissell Revolution Pet Pro would work so well picking up that fur! I was so excited to get this deep cleaner because if it could just do a fraction of what the product said it could do, then I would be ecstatic. I admit that I delayed in putting it together simply because I didn’t want to have all my hopes dashed so early in the product ownership due to problems with the user guide instructions. But once I sat down with it, and a pair of glasses, I was shocked to see that I had assembled it on my own in only 10 minutes!! The directions were helpful, easily navigable, and I had little to no struggle figuring out what to do thanks to the useful graphics. The font size wasn’t even that small, thank goodness. I really connected with the online instructional how-to video option. I am a visual person and I like to watch videos that show the step by step process as it saves me time and frustration figuring things out. I encourage owners to read through the instruction booklet before using the product. That reason I say that is there are some great tips that are scattered through the entire booklet. It isn’t too long and there are certainly pages that can initially be skipped. The first thing I did was to hook up the upholstery pet tool to dry vacuum the sofa-now dog bed that is completed covered in a thick layer of dog fur. The tip offered about using a raking motion was great because it helped to loosen up the fur that had become so matted down and embedded in the sofa fibers. Cleaning up the tool was so instinctual that I didn’t even have to read the directions to successfully do it. Oftentimes I find cleaning up a product after using it such a burden that I tend to avoid cleaning it and it no longer works as well. But in this case the clean up was so easy and not such a chore. The next thing I did was to do an express clean (which only takes 1 hour for the carpet to dry) of the carpet by the front door and near the kitchen where the dog had peed on the carpet. I swear I didn’t plan this when I was ready to use the deep cleaner for the first time. I used the cleaner that “eliminates pet urine, stains & odors.” I had initial issues having pressed the wrong button-I hit the clean shot, which wouldn’t stop squirting, instead of the recline pedal. I followed the directions on how many dry and wet passes and when to use the spray trigger. It worked great - the urine stain came out! After I finished with the express clean, again it was so intuitive how to clean the machine. Cleaning the carpet once every other week won’t seem like such a dreaded task and it will produce great results. Bissell offers a plethora of cleaning formulas to use with or in addition to this deep cleaner so it won’t be difficult to find Bissell products as that is what is recommended to use. As a matter of fact, it clearly states in bold to ONLY use Bissell deep cleaning formulas or risk voiding the limited five-year warranty. I can attest to all the product promises to do – deep cleaning, removing stains and odors; easy to clean brush rollers; dry and wet mode. I would highly recommend purchasing the Bissell Revolution Pet Pro deep cleaner.

We recently got a new puppy. He is just now turning 5 months old and we wanted to spot clean our carpets due to a couple of puppy "accidents" that left faint stains. When the BISSELL - ProHeat 2X Revolution Pet Pro Upright Deep Cleaner arrived, I was a little overwhelmed with the instructions to put it together. There were quite a few parts, but once I took the instructions step by step, it was not as daunting as I had thought. It is a big cleaner, which is good, but it is also heavy. My husband helped to assemble it and get it set up. We started with the express wash. There is also a deep clean option which we will try soon on a day we can have the dogs away from the house. This review is based on our experience with set-up, Express Wash and clean-up only. Once we got it assembled and filled with hot water and cleaning solution, we started on the areas with notable stains. You must first vacuum the area. I will say that it uses a powerful suction and with only a few passes the stains were less noticible. We did not use the spot sprayer, but will do so in the future (we didn't notice it until after we were done). It was easy to use, although heavy, and seemed to clean fairly well. One drawback was the little "bundles" of hair that would be left behind as we did the dry passes. We vacuumed ahead of time, but there was still a lot that came up. Showed us just how dirty our carpets really are. But, it was easy to pick up the hair balls and continue with the cleaner. The smell of the cleaning solution was pleasant and I am especially sensitive to smells. It smelled clean and fresh. After we did each area with a stain, we let it dry. Took about an hour and the carpet looked great! Again, this was just the Express Wash. I can only imagine how much better the deep clean would look. We also tried it on a spill stain in our boys' bathroom. With only a couple of passes, the stain came out. It looks great. When we were done, my husband had the honor of cleaning out the unit. This task was relatively easy. Pretty much take all the pieces out and rinse. He was surprised at just how much pet hair was in the cleaner after. The water was also a lovely shade of dark grey/brown, which is expected. Once everything is cleaned, he filled the clean water basin with hot water as instructed and ran it through the cleaner again on a section of carpet. Overall, clean up was a bit of a process, but not too difficult. If this step is skipped, I can only imagine how disgusting the cleaner would get. Again, we only did an Express Wash in a few areas. I can't imagine how dirty and entire deep clean on our house would be. Overall, this is a really good system for pet owners. It seemed to work really well and I loved the smell of the cleaning products. I would be interested in getting the hard floor attachment (sold separately) to use on our tile floors. I look forward to trying the upholstery attachment on our dining chairs and deep cleaning the entire house too. Would be a great alternative to renting a carpet cleaner.

Great cleaner that got the tough stains out!

Purchased this cleaner after reading many reviews about many cleaners...I'm not going to lie, the negative reviews (though few) made me nervous. I have never owned a carpet cleaner and have only rented the rug doctor, so that is my comparison. Here are my thoughts: 1st assembly time was a little under 10 minutes. The only thing you need is a screwdriver. I found the instructions located on the handle a bit difficult, but they did the trick. Using it was simple. The buttons are all obvious as to what they do. There is a tank for clean water and a tank for dirty water, both of which are very easily accessible and light, so there is no heavy lifting involved like with the rug doctor. I had to change the water in both tanks 4 times to do my living room and hallway. Although it seems like quite a bit, there was WAY less effort involved than when I had to change the rug doctor water since the tanks were so much smaller. I feel like the suction is good, and it sucked up lots of dirty water, but I also feel like if I followed the instructions and went very slow, my carpet would have been wet for a long time and taken at least a day to dry, which I don't remember ever being the case with the rug doctor. I did slow passes to put the soapy water down and then one slow pass and multiple quick passes like you would use a vacuum to suck up the water and that picked up the water better. I was in deep clean mode and it took approximately 2-3 hours to dry doing it that way. Today I used it again on another carpet and wasn't trying so hard to have it dry right away: I just did the one pass to put water down and 3 passes to pick it up. It's dry at this point and it has been about 8 hours. I don't find that to be a big deal. Every stain on my floor came out except one that was right one the edge of where the carpet meets tile. I will say, I'm very impressed. I have 2 dogs (one of which sheds so much, I have to vacuum 3x per week). They've had multiple accidents on my carpet which are typically treated with spray and a brush. I rarely deep clean my carpet, so I didn't figure the stains would come up as good as they did. One thing I was not a fan of: this cleaner turns hair into wet hair balls and leaves it on the floor. It definitely is a must to vacuum your carpet before you start (I did!) I understand it is not supposed to suck hair up, but it was gross cleaning up hairballs produced by the carpet cleaner. Outside of the hairball thing, I really like this carpet cleaner. I feel like it does a great job on less than stellar carpets, is VERY easy to clean after you are done using it (pieces come apart for easy cleaning), is compact enough to go in the closet and doesn't break your back to use it. Also, it has very useful attachments. Overall, I'm very happy with my purchase.

I like the Bissell ProHeat 2X Revolution. It is a nice carpet cleaner to tackle a room at a time or a floor of rooms in a day. The box comes with an upholstery brush for upholstered furniture and two bottles of cleaner for pets. You will need a Philips head screw driver to complete the set up of the Bissell. Once the Bissel is set up all you need to do is fill the tank with water and solution. There are two cleaning modes, express and deep clean. Express does soak your carpets and Bissell claims that the carpet will dry in an hour (this time depends on temperature and humidity). Deep clean puts more soap on the carpet and you will have to pull the Bissell back to collect the extra soap and water. Patience is the key, you have to let the soapy water have a chance to penetrate the carpet, allow the brushes to take their time to scrub the carpet and pull back slow enough to allow the soapy water and dirt to be sucked back into the Bissell. I have found that after I have put the soapy water on the carpet if I go back and forth several times on dirty carpet it cleans the carpet better. If you can see that the water being sucked back into the Bissell is no longer as dirty or clearer, you can move onto the next section. If you use the deep clean mode setting up fans for cross ventilation helps dry the carpets a lot quicker especially on humid days. Cleaning the Bissell between cleaning the carpet is the key to cleaner rugs. Bissell did a nice job clear documenting on how to properly empty the dirty water and clean the tank in-between adding new water and soap as you clean. Even though the unit did not come with a bare floor cleaner I did try it on my vinyl floor and it worked well. I think a lot of that was due to the heated water that loosened up the dirt and the vacuuming up of the dirty floor water. I would not use the deep clean mode as it would cause a lot of excess water to be on the floor. This is a nice unit. I would definitely suggest it for a household that likes to clean its carpets once a year or when ever a rug needs a touch up and you have the patience to run the Bissell slowly and methodically. I was amazed how much cleaner my carpets were after washing them. It won’t make old rugs that have never been cleaned look brand new, but you will be able to tell that those carpets have been cleaned.

    Worst piece of garbage ever

For disclosure, I did not purchase this machine through Best Buy. I'm giving this one star because there isn't an option for zero stars. This is literally the WORST PIECE OF GARBAGE CARPET CLEANER I've ever owned. On the first use, I noted that it doesn't clean near the walls, instead leaves a strip about 1.5" that isn't cleaned. This is much larger than I've experienced with other machines. If you mention that to the customer service reps, they'll tell you that you can go back over with the hose and attachments to clean that area. They told me this despite my telling them that I have a chronic medical condition. It's all I can do to move the furniture and shampoo the carpet. I'm physically not able to go back on my hands and knees and clean against the walls with the hose tool. The second time I tried to use the machine, the belt immediately broke. I had to move the furniture back, and wait for a new belt to arrive....which was the wrong one. So I ordered another new belt. In the meantime, I hired a carpet cleaning service. Today, I moved the furniture out again, and made a third attempt to use the machine. NOPE, not happening.....the formula/water will only spray out in a tiny strip in the center....the rest of the carpet is dry. The tank is positioned correctly, The spray bar is fine....the little holes are all clear. But it still won't spray correctly. So now I have to move the furniture back again. I'll be calling a professional carpet cleaning service....and moving the furniture one more time for them The Owner's Manual says not to take the machine back to the store. So, I called the 800 number. They told me to take it back to the store. Um...I didn't expect the machine to be such a piece of garbage, so I didn't keep the box. I doubt the store will help me after this amount of time, especially without the box. The Customer Service rep offered to replace my machine with the same model. Seriously, it's a piece of garbage!!! Why would I want a new piece of garbage???? They quite literally can't help me. And I did speak to a Supervisor, who pretty much said the same thing. They are referring my issue to Corporate and someone will call me. I'm so angry and frustrated....and worn out & hurting from dragging furniture...that this has me in tears. I've quite literally never encountered such a piece of garbage carpet cleaner in my life. I'd throw it out the window if I didn't have to clean up the pieces myself. I will never purchase another Bissell....and not only will I not recommend a Bissell to anyone....I'd highly discourage them from purchasing a Bissell.

I would give it 4 out of 5. And the only reason I'd ding it is because it was heavy and not as maneuverable around corners (as compared to all the lighter weight Dyson products I'm used to) and because I wish it would do better at sucking up debris when it sucked up the water. It would tend to leave some debris behind (hair balls, wet fuzz, etc.). The debris would get caught up in the roller bristles (as it should), but then it would get wet and then sometimes land back on the carpet, and wouldn't always get sucked back up by the machine. It's not a big deal, because I plan to go over the carpets again with the vacuum, but I do wish the debris had been suctioned up a little better. It does do a good job at sucking up the dirty water. PROS: Directions easy to understand. Easy to put together. Easy to refill the water supply. Easy to use, other than slightly heavy. Easy to clean afterwards and put back together. Cord length was long enough to cover a normal sized room. Carpets feel lighter, softer, and fluffier after use. CONS: Slightly heavy, especially when lifting up and down stairs. Takes a little longer to use in deep clean mode, because you have to refill the water tank more often and go slower with each pass. Wish it sucked up debris better - this is definitely not a vacuum, just a carpet cleaner. OBSERVATIONS: Offers 2 modes - express clean and deep clean. I could see times to use both. I tried the express clean mode on berber carpet and an area rug, and the deep clean mode on the regular shag carpet. The express clean didn't use as much water, and I could have done 3-4 rooms on one water tank. It also doesn't take as long to dry. The deep clean uses much more water, almost a full tank per room, but you can tell it gets hotter and cleans better. Does take longer to dry though. I didn't use the hose or the little upholstery cleaner yet so I can't review that. It definitely did its job, as the water I removed after cleaning the carpets was very dirty. I could see doing this maybe 2-3 times a year and whenever you have spills, etc, and it would probably extend the carpet life. I would recommend it to someone, because it will pay for itself over time rather than paying someone else to come out and clean your carpets. I'm sure the next time I use it, it wouldn't take as long to figure out how to fill it up, clean it afterwards, etc, since I've done it now. Overall, I liked it and would recommend. I like that it's cleaning with heat, not just shampooing, so it offers more of an antibacterial effect. You're not dealing with a lot of suds and worrying that you're leaving a residue behind. It's similar to using the steam mop - it just seems to clean more efficiently than with a lot of soap products.

The new Bissell Proheat 2X Revolution comes packaged very well with every attachment that you will ever need and as impressive as this system looks out of the box is matched by it's performance. While I'm not going to say it's perfect but for an all in one carpet & fabric cleaner this machine comes very close to it. The instructions are well written and it is very easy to put together and start running in less than 15 minutes and the only tool you need is a Philips screwdriver for 1 screw and everything else just snaps into place. Once assembled it feels very sturdy and is built to last. The only con that I have found so far is the weight which can also be considered as a pro. It feels pretty heavy in the handle which I wasn't expecting and if you have a bad back as I do this machine will definitely put a strain on it and after doing our 30 foot hallway I was feeling the weight in my lower back for sure. With that said, my wife took over and did the living room and the first thing she noticed was how much weight was up high in the handle but it didn't bother her at all and we had the whole upstairs done in about an hour. Our carpets hadn't been cleaned in over a year and we went through almost all of the 2 bottles of cleaner that came with the machine so they were way overdue for cleaning and I really figured we would have to clean them again next weekend with a dog, rabbit, and children running everywhere. But after it dried our light colored carpet turned out cleaner than I ever could have imagined! Except for 1 heavy grease spot (my bad) the carpets came out beautifully and will need heavy duty cleaner to get the grease spot out but it did take about half of the spot out with the spot sprayer which is very cool and handy to have incorporated into the cleaner. Bissell does make a stronger solution and I will be buying that to clean the kids rooms and I am planning on using it to clean the car as well and will update my review after using the attachments for those jobs. The tanks are easy to remove and fill but the waist tank seems to be a little small and the cleaner will continue to run but will stop spraying and cleaning once the waist container hits a certain level over the full mark which is about the halfway full area by the way it looks to me but just be aware that you have to keep emptying the waist container 2 to 3 times per tank of cleaner. In closing, both my wife and I highly recommend this carpet cleaner. The carpets came out beautifully and we can take our time doing the other cleaning jobs which we couldn't do if we rented a machine. My wife loves it and is a very happy camper so with that said I can't recommend this bissell enough!

Assembly ----------- It is very easy to put together and the instructions that came with it, i did not even have to use it, i just looked at the parts and i had to use a Philips screwdriver and assembled with ease Whats in the Box -------------------- 1. The Solutions (good scent!!) a pet urine eliminator and anti bacterial carpet cleaner 2. uphoisery cleaner 3. The BISSELL - ProHeat 2X Revolution Pet Pro Upright Deep Cleaner Usage ------- it has 2 modes, express clean mode and a deep clean mode. Express clean mode is supposed to be used when you want your carper to dry faster. it actually dries out in the 1 hr timeframe as they are advertising. The deep clean mode is when you want to put in more water and soap. this is kind of cleaning i would do may be once i 6 months? i usually will use an express clean because i do not want to have a soaked carpet for a few hours and when i need to have foot traffic within a few hours... it also has a cleanshot pre-treater which you can activate by pushing using your foot. it is helpful when you want to treat stain spots on the carpet which is usually the case.... Once i used express cleaned and cleaned one of the room, i was amazed at the amount of dirt the water contained.. i made sure that i vaccumed the room prior to washing it with this steam washer. I do not have any pets so i cannot compare against the regular proheat steam washer I also had a Hoover carpet cleaner but i think this carpet cleaner performs better in terms of both suction, features and cleaning ability. the cost is almost same as STANLEY STEAMERS and i think since you can re-use this cleaner, it is a must buy if you have carpet in your house. I wish they had something which i can use on the tile so that i do not need to buy a separate steam mop

This carpet cleaner is easy to maneuver and does a great job making our carpets fresh and clean. We don't have many stains so I can't add much there however, I now clean our carpets every couple of months and I'm always amazed at the amount of dirt that's picked up. We don't wear shoes in the house but we do have 3 indoor-only cats and although my carpet looks clean initially, the dirty water always ends up being pretty gross. I'm always hugely satisfied with the amount of GROSS this machine sucks up every time I use it... Thank you Bissell! I haven't had any issues with leaking water...I've "forgotten" to empty the clean water tank when done... And all valves still operate like new. The machine doesn't keep the water warm, per se, but it does circulate warm air as advertised. It might have a slight effect on stabilizing water temp, but very minimal. Both the clean & dirty water tanks have a flat bottom so it's easy to fill/a snap to empty. It doesn't take any more than a minute to empty the dirty tank while shampooing... I find the tank size(s) to be perfect at approximately 1 gal each. I don't have to empty them too frequently (est. 3-4 times per 20' x 20' room) and I can manage hauling the machine, with a full water tank, up and down the stairs. My only real complaint is that I found the hand attachments to be completely useless. The suction is terrible and dirty water DOES leak out if holding at an awkward angle...i.e cleaning upholstery. My solution is I also own a portable Rug Doctor and opt to use it on all smaller tasks. Overall, I'm super pleased with my purchase and am crossing fingers that the product continues to do its job for many years to come.

Good investment for frequent use or lots of carpet

I have never used anything on carpeting besides just a vacuum. When I was a kid, I remember my parents renting a rug doctor from the supermarket every few months trying to prolong the life of way-too-old carpet because we couldn't afford new carpet. But--if you have carpet--gotta keep it clean. If you have pets, that is even harder than normal. If you have a LOT of carpeting or a LOT of pet hair, investing in a carpet cleaner that goes a little deeper than just a vacuum can probably help keep your carpet going a bit longer than if not. At least my carpet was a LOT cleaner after using this thing... Pros: It works. It does suck up dirt and dog hair much more thoroughly than the vacuum does. It helped restore the pile a bit too, even, on my matted down cheapola rental unit carpeting as well. There were a couple of crunchy dog vomit stains that were not visible, but were not "feel"-able either after running this thing over the area per the directions. So, yeah. It definitely works. Cons/neutral: It doesn't work without some work. It's not a magical fix-it button. I remember the family rug doctor rentals of my childhood because they were kinda big affairs--we would spend the day before vacuuming the heck out of the house, then the day with the rug doctor, we would spend emptying dirty liquid and filling clean, moving furniture, avoiding wet areas. Using this Bissell is not nearly such a big "event, but it takes time to go through a room slowly, making multiple passes. It takes time to refill clean water and empty dirty water. It really does take time and effort to do this right. Using a machine like this is not like making a quick pass with a vacuum cleaner. It is also more of an investment and frankly a more complex piece of machinery and after using it, I was afraid of not maintaining it properly and making sure I was cleaning it out well enough so that I would get many more uses out of it. I didn't want to dock a whole star for my own personal hang-up... but it is worth considering if this kind of appliance is something that would be useful for your household needs. If it is, then: -Yes, it works. It works pretty well! -It was a bit difficult to put together, but the directions were clear and all the pieces were accounting for. Not too bad out of the box. -Take care of it--don't put it away with liquid in it and make sure to use the included cleaning tools to clear away any clogs or pet hair that may be in the machine still after use.

I adopted two new dogs, bringing the in-home total to 4, and you know what that means. Yep, time to get a steam cleaner. Based on a quick search, this one was the most highly rated and favorably reviewed, and I think it's earned that status. It can be fully assembled in less than 5 minutes and is ready to go. The instructions are clear and it's easy to use. And it works WELL. I used the deep clean function with the concentrated cleaner (two sample cleaners come with it, and you'll get about 3 tankfuls from each. PROS: *easy and quick to assemble and use *comes with some cleaning solutions to get you started *cleans very well. So well, in fact, that I've become a little disheartened about the amount of dog hair that my Dyson animal vac has left behind for this to find. *purchase earns a donation to animal rescue (yay!) *easy to fill the clean water reservoir (although it will drip a little, they all do) and easy to dump the dirty water reservoir CONS (OK, not really a 'con' but an observation) *not a vacuum - the wet hair that it 'found' after I'd vacuumed the carpet gets spit up on the carpet like wet, matted furballs that you have to pick up and discard. It will NOT suck those up, it just keeps recycling them if you don't pick them up (voice of experience here) *the clean water tank is 1 gallon, and you'll be surprised how fast you'll burn through that with Deep Clean mode. My bedroom is probably about 12x17, with a walk-in closet and part of the master bath carpeted, and I went through 3 tanks of water.
