Third time I used it. Smoke started pouring up from the engine and the beater bar doesn't spin anymore. So if you want a Steam cleaner that works twice and breaks. This is the one for you.

I gave it one star because the carpet cleaner stopped working after three days of using it. They sent me a replacement and the LED lights for the steamer has cracks in it like it had been dropped.

Very disappointing. This thing makes more of a mess than it cleans up. It squirts dirty water out of the side. There is absolutely no evidence of steam coming out of anything. Not worth the money. I cannot return it. But I will never buy a Bissell again

Works as described! Well worth the price. The steam function is a great bonus and my carpets feel clean. It is clutch for puppy accidents. It is a little heavy, but manageable. Easy to clean and operate.

I have had a few different machines that are similar to this, but this one is the most user friendly. I have a Berber-type carpet, so I have always been somewhat afraid of the carpet unraveling with steam cleaning. That is something that I read might happen. Berber-type is not a cut pile, but one continuous yarn that loops. So if you pull a piece of yarn in the carpet that might be sticking up, it will literally unravel if you keep pulling on it. Not optimal. It was the carpet that was already installed in the house when we bought it, and it wears pretty well, so I’ll only replace it if I have to. This Bissell machine is very easy to assemble. No screws are required, you simply put the handle in and push down, and it’s all set. The instructions are printed on the box and there are printed instructions in the box. Included in the box are two different carpet cleaning concentrates. On the tank that you put this concentrate, you hardly need any of the solution, it’s about 95% water. So don’t worry about buying an approximately $20 bottle of concentrate, that would last a very long time. I don’t have dogs, but I have a cat, who has random “situations”, so I guess this is a good machine for me. I already own a Bissell little green machine, which has been great for smaller areas, but this is great for entire rooms and large sections. For my first cleaning project, I decided to clean the walkway behind my sectional couch. It definitely needed cleaning since it is a main thoroughfare in my family room. This area is approximately 65 square feet. I vacuumed the area thoroughly, as instructed. I filled the solution tank to the small area fill line.I chose the deep clean mode because I knew it needed that. I did this cleaning on a hot day so it would help with the drying process. Using the machine was very easy. I simply held the button on the handle and pushed so the solution and brushes were cleaning. When I was done with the cleaning solution and wanted to just suck up the water, I just pushed back and forth like I was vacuuming. I went in the direction of the Berber rows to keep the wear and tear on the carpet to a minimum. I think I could have done a better job of sucking the excess water out, but I’ll do that next time. It did take about 8 hours for the part that was most out of the way to completely dry. The most exciting part was the dirty water tank! My carpet looked clean, but I definitely saw the results in the tank. The small area fill was just right for this area, the tank was empty when I was finished. I’m plotting out my next area to clean so that info will be useful when I fill the tank up. One of the tricky parts is to keep my family from walking on the damp carpet, even though I put barriers up and signs. I might have to put up caution tape or something next time, because that was ridiculous! I also liked the way the carpet felt once it was dry. It felt puffed up again, and with that clean crunchy feel underfoot. The footprint of this upright machine is a bit big, at 17” x 13”. I do like the fact that it is upright, because one machine I had folded up and it was such a deal to get going, I hated to use it. It is very much like a vacuum cleaner. The easier it is to use, the more often I will use it.

A beast of a carpet cleaner!!!

This newest Revolution Hydrosteam upright carpet cleaner from Bissell is a beast! You'll be immediately impressed by its heft, quality construction, modular design and cleaning prowess. However, their web based support at the time of this review was confusing and incomplete - my model number was not listed and the promised video tips would have been very helpful. Thankfully the included manual was enough to get me up and running. I truly appreciated everything that was included with the machine. The mesh utilities bag holds the suction hose and the two upholstery attachments for security and convenience. There are also two trial bottles of washer fluid to get you started. Unlike many of the new vacuums the Revolution has a very generous 25' electrical cord which keeps you from having to stop in the middle of cleaning to search for another outlet. The clean water and dirty water reservoirs are generous, easy to insert and remove and easy to clean after use. Be aware that this machine is HEAVY when loaded up with fluid. Make certain that you have firmly inserted the handle before use. In my case it took a couple of tries to get it to seat securely. Also, the dual brushes in the cleaning head are very powerful. Make sure to go easy on Berber style carpets. The addition of steam means that this thing can really reach deep to get stubborn stains out but, again, make sure that you test this on a small area of your carpet before going whole-hog with steam cleaning. We have a few multi-colored area rugs that I have chosen to not use the steam on. You have three cleaning styles to choose from so you can use this almost anywhere. You can choose easily from a switch located on the handle and there are indicator lights on the cleaning head to display your choices. There is even a "Quick Dry" mode that restricts the amount of fluid that is injected in the carpet so that you don't have to wait for hours for a rug to dry when you only needed to do a quick maintenance clean up. Some common sense advisories - be sure to dry vacuum your carpet before cleaning. remove any of the solid soil that you can ahead of time. I'm always amazed how much filth this thing removes from my "clean" carpet. In conclusion, I am very satisfied with Bissell's newest offering and recommend particularly that anyone with pets in the house take a look!

Great steam cleaner and love the steam option!

So out of the box I will say this steam cleaner was quite heavy to lift out but I guess what can you expect with an upright steam cleaner. Assembly was easy, snap the handle in and let’s get cleaning!! The actual cleaner itself is very “pretty” in my opinion. I just think it looks well built and seems very sturdy. We recently just bought a dachshund puppy and boy am I happy to have this cleaner. It has a double tank design (a spot for the dirty water and a spot for the clean/solution water) which is nice. I’ve used it 3 times so far and I will say I like the sturdy feel of the container when having to empty it. The cleaner came with 2 different trial sized solutions and by far the Oxy urine solution was my favorite. My pup isn’t fully potty trained and scrubbing the carpets by hand just wasn’t cutting it. I was actually disgusted yet excited to see how dirty that water was when I was cleaning his “places of choice” to use the bathroom. My favorite mode so far to use is the steam + max clean option. I truly believe the steam really does help break down the stains on the carpet. At first I just thought it was a gimmick to make this cleaner stand out from the rest but it actually helps! My bedroom carpet being almost white, looks fresh and fluffy again after using this mode. I will say, the carpets remained wet for a good 4 hours though with the steam+max clean option but was worth the end result. I tried using the Express clean option on my downstairs rugs and they cleaned up very nice. They only felt wet for about 40-45 mins I’d say which was very convenient. My favorite option by far of this cleaner are the upholstery attachments. It has an 8ft hose on it which was awesome and made cleaning my couch so much easier. I have a cream colored sectional and while it took patience and time to clean it (the attachment is only about 6in. wide), I’m very happy with the result. My couch I’d say remained damp for just over an hour which honestly could’ve been user error as well because I was still getting use to the machine. The one drawback on the upholstery attachment or just with using the hose in general is there isn't a steam option. Not the end of the world but would’ve been a great option to have. Make sure to vacuum as best as you can because this thing will find everything and more even when you thought your rugs were “clean” of dirt and debris. The front of the cleaner comes off for easy access to the bristles though which is so convenient. I promise you, it’ll need cleaned after you’re done. Overall, I’m happy with the steam cleaner. I’ve used the Bissel Little Green machine for years which does the job for small stains but this one makes carpet cleaning a much easier task!

    Hydrosteam for the Win

Being a pet owner, I picked up a BISSELL Revolution HydroSteam Pet Carpet Cleaner, and so far this has been an amazing tool to keep my carpets, and couches, fresh and clean. The Hydrosteam carpet cleaner has given me a closer chance to living in a hygienically clean house with a dog and a toddler. Using the Quick Dry mode really helps the carpet dry fast and is done in just about 30 minutes which my old machine could no ever do. The power of the BISSELL Revolution HydroSteam is so much stronger than anticipated and it removes stubborn stains, dirt, and toddler messes from my carpets which helps them to look fresh and smelling great. With how easy it is to use it has become my go to tool for getting my house back in shape from the dog and toddler. I wasn’t familiar at first with the Hydrosteam technology and it seems like the heated water and steam power cleans more effectively than my old machine. It seems to dig right into the stain and pull it straight from the bottom of the carpet where as my old machine only seemed to be skimming the surface. Being a pet owner it is important to get the “dog smell” out of my house and my house just seems so much cleaner and fresher now. The really appreciate how hefty the machine is but it also remains maneuverable and allows me to navigate easily over my furniture and move around heavy objects with ease. Having a larger capacity tank is very helpful as well and helps me to keep working instead of going back and forth filling up the tank all the time. The BISSELL Revolution HydroSteam offers versatile functionality and allows me to clean carpets, the sofa and my car seats with a great amount of ease. The attachments make my life a lot easier and the length of the included hose makes sure I do not have to walk around and move the machine as much as my old machine had me do. I love how easy it is to remove the water tank and thankfully emptying the dirty water tank is a breeze and so much easier than my old machine too. I look forward to many years of use with this as I get older. Really if you are a pet owner, or have a small child, that is looking for something that is an easy to use tool with powerful cleaning performance the HydroSteam Carpet cleaner is a great tool to have. It is easy to use and is user-friendly as well. Thankfully it is not too loud either and does not scare my dog when I am using it.

I am so happy to have finally found a home carpet steam cleaner that works well and is easy to operate! We have a Golden Retriever, and while she doesn't make messes, between the dirt that gets tracked in and hair, we need to clean the carpets a few times a year. I've been using a different brand's cleaner for a few years, and while it did OK, the wand stopped working and it had trouble with stains. I've only used this once so far, but the build quality feels significantly better than the old one. It also performs better because it got out some old stains using the tough stain tool that's included! I'm convinced that the steam feature on the Bissell is the difference maker. The upholstery tool and 8ft hose are great for furniture and stairs. They are super easy to clean too with removable covers. Quick dry mode and the level of suction from this machine are the reason you'll want to use it more often. Who wants to walk around on wet carpet or blast fans all day? I used it on a sunny, dry day with a light breeze and I would say the carpets were dry in about an hour. Overall, this machine is outstanding and worth every penny, especially for pet owners or anyone with small children. To finally have a carpet cleaner with a steam function is a game changer for both the way it cleans but also helps sanitize. I couldn't be happier with this and recommend it to anyone!

The Bissell Revolution Hydrosteam Vacuum is a fantastic option for carpet cleaning in your home. I have 2 dogs and a 2 year old with brand new carpets. My dogs have random accidents and I’ve used a small portable machine to treat the spots but they didn’t get the stain or smell up completely. So I was interested to see how the Bissell Hydrosteam would handle some aged stains on my carpet. Initial setup with the hydrosteam was simple and straightforward. It only took me about a minute or two to get everything put together. The top container holds the cleaner and is clearly marked with water and solution measurements for small and large areas. The unit has 3 separate modes a Pretreating Steam Mode to help with tougher stains. Max Clean for a deep 8 hour drying clean, and then a Quick Dry mode which will claim to have carpet dry in 30 minutes or less. I used the Steam and Max Clean mode on my dogs stains and they did a fantastic job. The stains came out and the carpet doesn’t smell anymore! I was also able to use the unit in high traffic areas and it really does a great job cleaning the carpet. I was impressed by the amount of dirt in the bottom container. After I was finished the brushes were easy to clean and remove all the excess dog hair. The unit also comes with hose attachments for stairs or couches. I will undoubtedly use those at some point! Overall I am very impressed with the Bissell Hydrostream Vacuum. It’s a heavy duty carpet cleaner with multiple modes and attachments that’s simple to use with great results. It’s a must have for someone with messy children or pets that have occasional accidents. I highly recommend it!
