A powerful deep clean!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Bottom Line: The Bissell Revolution Hydrosteam provides a powerful deep clean and is capable of really pulling out the stains. Pros: multiple cleaning options; deep cleaning brush; powerful suction; easy to clean. Cons: no onboard storage for tools; noise. Review: After using a handheld wet vac for pet and other messes for years, I was blown away by how much of a better clean this machine is capable of delivering. Filling the cleaning tank with water and solution is easy, and two buttons on the handle allow you to switch between 3 cleaning modes: steam, wet vacuum, and steam + wet vacuum. After a few passes (steam + wet vac), I was able to nearly eliminate a stain that’s been on a low pile carpet from months from spilled laundry detergent. With a little bit more work, I was also able to eliminate mystery stains that have been on a medium pile carpet probably for years (we recently moved into a house where the previous owner had multiple large dogs). I was also pleased by the suction power of the unit, since almost all of the water that was sprayed on the carpet was collected in the dirty water bin. The unit comes with an attachable hose and upholstery tools for handheld mode (although steam is not available) which work as well as standalone handheld unit. Cleanup is easy; the entire lid comes off the dirty bin for emptying and cleaning, and the cover over the brush bar is also removable for cleaning the wet intake and brush bar area.

I feel foolish for not getting one sooner
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The BISSELL Revolution Hydrosteam Pet Corded Upright Deep Cleaner Titanium/Copper Harbor is now by far my favorite household cleaning appliance. As someone who has spent years renting the carpet cleaning apparatuses from supermarkets I feel a bit of an idiot. Not only does the Bissell do a better job, but for the price of a few rentals of poorly maintained equipment that can (and occasionally has) soil more than it cleans, you can actually OWN what I consider to be a top shelf product. One that contains no traces of some other person's pet waste. What shocked me the most was that we had just used an aforementioned rental unit to do some cleaning and I was leaning toward asking our neighbor if we could "borrow" their carpets to test since we'd probably not see much of a difference having just cleaned ours. Boy was I mistaken! The Bissell manages to make our carpeting look practically brand new. I honestly didn't know they could look like that anymore. I thought that, due to normal wear and tear, they just simply were getting as clean as they possibly could. The gross waste water we ended up with afterward proved that was not the case. I'm saying goodbye to costly substandard rental cleaners for good now! I'm a Hydrosteam convert and I'm NEVER going back!

Perfect for hard floors and even area rugs!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This Bissell Hydrosteam is perfect for any hard floor such as tile, hardwood floors, linoleum and even area rugs and rubber floor mats. My home is almost entirely hardwood but I have multiple are rugs. This wet/dry vac does a great job at vacuuming up the dirt, pet hair and anything else in my home. The headlight also helps you see where you need to focus your cleaning. It works just as well as a mop too in washing and steam cleaning the floors. The area rugs also look great after a cleaning - similar to a shampooing. So far the cleaning solution included has been great and the water tank has lasted as well, and I expect I won't have to refill it all that often given how frequently I clean the floors. The HydroSteam technology is really evident in how well it cleans. This has replaced a vacuum and a mop for me. The cleaning formula also eliminates bacteria and other germs for peace of mind. Overall, I highly recommend the Bissell Hydrosteam wet/dry vac for anyone with hard floors and pets or children.

Well built, steam is just a gimmick.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The best way I can describe the Bissell Hydrosteam is…disappointing. I was expecting so much more considering all the glowing reviews on YouTube among the authorities in comparing carpet cleaners. The biggest problem (which is easily fixed by Bissell) is that the directions are HORRIBLY lacking. The included directions give you about 85% of what you need for proper usage. For example, the book tells you that you need to wait up to a minute for the steam function to become ready. What it doesn’t tell you is that you need to lower the stem like you are going to use it. The book just tells you to turn on the unit, and to click the button to put it into the steam function, and when the steam icon stops flashing it means it is ready. I did that and waited upwards of 10 minutes…but the icon was still flashing. What the book DOESN’T tell you is that you need to push the pedal to lower the stem like you are ready to use it and THEN wait. I was searching the internet high and low for how to get the icon to go solid to no avail. I was getting so irritated. The directions also make no mention of heat warnings. I picked up the unit to move it downstairs and I got burned right at the front of the unit. The biggest thing it misses on is the difference between the steam+wash function versus the quick dry option. I thought the quick dry function was a drying function, instead it is a washing function that uses less water. There is very little details on the trigger. You pull the trigger while going forward to dispense water, you let go when you pull it back. There are no details on the noises that come from the unit (I will say that no manufacturer makes this clear, though, including Hoover). When the water level gets too low, or the water level in the collection bucket gets too high, the suction sound changes – i.e. it doesn’t suction anymore (it would be better if these devices came with a visual notification instead of leaving it to the user to identify noises). There is also no mention of the difference between the two connectors for the end of the hose. Directions aside, the selling point is the steam that you can use to pre-loosen stains. Frankly, I believe it to be nothing more than a gimmick. I found that the steam really didn’t change my ability to wash stains from the carpet. I should note that I don’t have a pet, but I do have a 2.5 year old toddler who has peed on the floor a couple times, so I had some stains that needed removing. Suffice it to say that the Bissell Hydrosteam removed the stains no better than my previous cleaner, a Hoover FH5200 smart wash (~2 years old). I tried using the steam pre-wash function but I found it very useless. While the machine will tell you the steam is ready, it wasn’t ready to produce an output for another couple minutes (I was feeling the carpet each time I went over it each time). Stains I “pre-treated” with steam came out no different than those even with room temperature water that I used with the hand attachment on my stairs. The biggest gripe I have with the Bissell Hydrosteam (besides the directions) is that this thing chugs water. I would estimate that the area of carpet I can vacuum is around 400 sqft. Using the steam+wash function, I needed two and a half buckets of water to complete the cleaning, which involved following the directions from Bissell that I should do two passes while pulling the trigger. My old Hoover did everything with barely 1.5 buckets (according to videos on YouTube, the bucket is the same size). I think going forward I will only use the quick dry option and use only the steam+wash function on trouble areas. What troubled me the most was that I washed all of the carpet using the steam+wash function, which is supposed to be more thorough, but the color of the water that came off was lighter than when I washed with my old cleaner. Another gripe is the design choice with how to dispense soap: you mix the soap with the water. As a result, there is no easy way to switch between washing with only water or water with soap. Sure, it guarantees that you will always wash with soap, but to wash only with water is to use up the entirety of the bucket and then refill it with just water. With many models (like the Hoover Smart Wash) you put the soap in a separate compartment and the device makes the mixture while it sprays on the carpet. The handheld tool is useful but it does not have a steam function. This isn’t a big deal since the handheld tools in carpet cleaners aren’t the most useful beyond spot cleaning. I will just make sure to use hot water in the bucket. I’m not sure what is the difference between the two connectors for the end of the tube. One has a window to let you see the water get sucked up the other doesn’t? Again, the book makes no mention of the details. I certainly don’t think this unit is worth purchasing at $399.99. After using multiple carpet cleaners, my opinion is that they are good for give your carpet wash to absorb/remove residual human-based liquids (sweat, urine) as well as any RECENTLY spilled drinks. They won’t remove most stains, especially older ones – you are probably better off using Resolve or any normal elbow-grease-based spray on carpet cleaning liquids. Just find a unit in the sub-$200 range and deal with tougher stains using Resolve.

Makes the stains disappear.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Having a pet is rewarding once you get potty training out of the way. I bought a professional sized rug Dr a couple of years ago when he was still a puppy and didn't know where he was supposed to do his business. It helped clean up some messes, but failed with more soiled-in stains. Also, there was no way to clean up the doggy vomit from the sofa. Bissel won me over last year when I purchased a hard floor care product. I was well aware of how good this brand was and when this Revolution Hydrosteam carpet cleaner became available, I just had to get it. Upon receiving, I was surprised at how much lighter it was than the Dr. and the fresh/dirty water reservoirs were in the same position as my hard floor cleaner. It was easy to assemble with just snapping in place then fresh water reservoir dock then popping in the handle. I decided to try it on some old stains that the Dr wasn't able to remove. It has 3 cleaning modes: steam pre-treat, power-wash, and quick wash. I put it on steam first since they were old stains and I wanted them to moisten first. After about 20 seconds of steam, I switched it to power wash and the 2 brushes started spinning fast. I pulled the trigger and released solution onto the brushes with a satisfying cascade of white froth visible through the clear nozzle area. A few seconds later, I went over it with 3-4 passes which pulled up all the dirt and suds from the carpet (also satisfying) leaving a clean area. Having solution in the tank, I decided to use it on other spots of different types. Left everything to fully dry overnight to be sure of the results after the carpet had dried. Sure enough, almost everything came out. The only thing it didn't remove was some acrylic paint from one of the kids' projects, though I'm sure that would require some type of solvent to break down the chemicals. The dog likes to sit on the futon upstairs during the day where he will sometimes chew a bone and sometimes vomit something that didn't agree with him. Happy to have an included hose that comes with both a 4" and a 6" nozzle dedicated to upholstery. The 4" nozzle has a vacuum chamber for dry debris and the same clear suction nozzle to suck up grey water. It made quick work of 3 little problem spots on the couch. Cleaning the appliance was quite easy, empty out the grey water tank, take off the front nozzle and put it under running water, then remove any debris and wipe it all down; took 3 minutes. An elegant machine with copper accents and a long cord that's very capable at making it seem like no dog lives here.

I have 2 dogs a red healer and a 130lb Rottweiler and keeping the carpet clean in wet weather is a chore.2 dogs and a 6 year old grand child and this Revolution can handle the challenge. It draws dark black soil right out(yuk) and the steam loosens sticky spills and completely removes.Lip stick ,after grand baby got a hold of it,came out in a few passes..

Bulky but effective
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Review for BISSELL - Revolution Hydrosteam Pet Corded Upright Deep Cleaner - Titanium/Copper Harbor Bissell does it again. This rug and upholstery cleaner is designed for cleaning up pet accidents. Since our senior dog was diagnosed with a heart condition, the medication she’s on makes her more prone to accidents. She always seems to choose the carpet over the bare floor! The cleaner has three modes for this: a steam pretreatment, a steam and liquid thorough cleaning, and a quick mode for regular cleaning. The cleaner can use any of the Bissell floor cleaning products designed for pets, carpets, and wood or tile floors. The device itself is large, which makes it easy to cover wide swaths. The clean water tank is also hefty, which means less refilling, but adds to the unit’s weight. There is a double row of stiff brushes that do a great job cleaning up a mess or just to lift regular dirt. After cleaning, it’s easy to dump the dirty water tank and rinse off the roller cover (which, I note happily is very ruggedly made!) I wish I had gotten the model that has a drain tray. This lets you sit the entire unit in a splash resistant tray when you’ve finished cleaning. The device can drip dirty water otherwise. I found it works to place it on an old towel to prevent drips. There are two attachments for use with the included hose that let you clean messes on upholstery. It’s important to note that the attachments do not use the steam feature, but work very well. My unit did come with two samples of cleaning solution: one for deep cleaning carpets and another billed as a “urine eliminator.” The last one is good to have on hand, but I’m hoping I don’t need it!

Large pet spots gone
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had 2 nasty pet stains. This rated highly so I bought it. For this 67 y/o it was easy to put together but difficult to learn. I called Bissell and they sent a video. It was somewhat helpful. It loolked like the lady put no effort into squeezing the trigger, but I thought it was. The learning curve was steep but the spots are gone !!

Alot of memory for a great price.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am still learning about the new features because my other laptop was very old. I'd like the feature of being able to fold it in half. I bought a display unit and saved 50% on the price and it looks brand new you can't ask for a better deal. The salesman was very helpful!
