I have owned a Roomba continuously since 2007 and loved it but the battery kept giving me problems so I had to replace them too often. I cleaned the brushes and emptied the dustbin regularly, but still was not working at its optimum.. Then I saw this one on sale @ BestBuy so I gave it a shot. Here's my opinion and some insights: I own a larger home - carpeting and flooring mix (over 6000 sq feet) ---Dustbin Emptying Bissell dustbin easier to empty - top hatch vs Roomba remove front of unit ---Brush Cleaning (hair removal etc) Roomba slight edge - you can easily remove the brush unlike Bissell ---Pattern of Cleaning Bissell seems better - seems little more intelligent in moving around - the Roomba does cool swirls patterns but seems more inefficient. ---Size of Brush Roomba brush much bigger - gets more area with each pass, but Bissell seems to cover everything just as well. Bissell does seem a little underpowered but seems to work.. --Suction Can't tell - havent owned it long enough... but Bissell so far seems adequate. NEITHER are good for hard jobs - just good for light weekly cleaning ---Battery life Had bad experience with Rooma - Bissell I'll return to and say "OMG this thing is STILL going?" ---Side Sweeper Brushes Bissell has two - Roomba only has one on one side. ---Price Hands down Bissell. After all these years you would've thought Roomba would have lowered the price. Roomba irritates me for that reason ---Noise Bissell MUCH quieter - my dog has no prob with Bissell ---Virtual Walls Roomba came with two and seem to work better - I just use "random stuff" to block Bissell ---Programmability, etc I don't use that Shizzle. Just put it down and go to town. PRogramming stuff is too much work. Sorry can't help you. ---Other Bissell has interesting panel on top - still haven't figured out some of the stuff.. little annoying.. but whatever.. Bissell give feedback on how charged the battery is - I like that b/c if I have to do multiple times in a day I don't have to guess when it's ready for its next use. ---Coolness factor Roomba wins because of the brand name.. People will come by and say "bissell? oh.. I guess you are a cheap donkey and tried to save money".. at which point I tell them to pound salt and offer them a cheaper beer not the good stuff. LOL Just kidding. All in all, Bissell is worth trying out. Oh also I DID buy the warranty from Best Buy because I feel like I dont know the brand enough and its worth it to me if i start having trouble. Trust me - I don't work for any of these companies - Bissell, BestBuy, or Roomba... but I am a fan of BestBuy. Good luck.

Over all for the money it does a pretty good job. One of it's biggest problems is it sometimes runs it's battery down before it makes it home for recharging, and also sometimes has trouble transitioning from one type of flooring to another (exp. tile to wood). Bottom line I think I would buy it again.

This vacuum for the most part does what it claims to. It truly struggles on carpet ( especially higher pile), but on hard surface it does the job very nicely. With a pair of jack russells hair gathers. With its round shape corners are a problem, but for in between full cleanings it gets most of the dirt.

Bought for my dad for Xmas and we both fell in love with it. Only reason I didn't give five stars is because I feel the trash bin is too small need to empty frequently. Overall a great gift.

The Bissell Robotic vacuum does a great job, A little difficult setting up as the manual is not clear enough but after a few runs it works fine. The ordering process was easy online and it was delivered in the time specified.

I love that this goes daily while I go to work. It's so nice having the house clean every day. Until it breaks. Thank goodness for my 4 year best buy warranty. I can just bring it back and they replace it.

Works great have hard wood and tile in entire house, goes to different rooms works great was truly amazed, picks up dirt n sand so well as I have super sandy yard awesome

This product works great on hardwood floors. The only downside is it easily gets hung up on any fringe on throw rugs and it will not vacuum any dark areas on multi color rugs. it works great for that quick cleaning/sweep though to help cut down on pet hair and saves time by not having to manually sweep daily.

I use my Bissell in my Master Bedroom, and I LOVE it! I can run it every few days and it gets everything, including dust from my bamboo flooring. I love that it does such a great job under the bed. I had a Roomba before this one and it didn't do this good of a job and then broke. The Bissell is really easy to clean too!

Okay, I bought the Bissell because I didn't want to spend the ridiculously big bucks on the Zumba, and I found the Bissell on sale for next to nothing. Two issues I have are 1) I find that I spend a lot of time watching it do its thing, and 2) I haven't figured out how to program the barrier because the writing on the box is too small. I want to send pictures to all my friends of the amount of hair, fur, dust and unidentifiable stuff it picks up every time it runs, but that probably won't be as impressive to anyone else as it is to me. This is really a pretty good machine, especially for the money. And cheaper than dinner and a movie if you're looking for some entertainment!

Not easy to program...i thought it could be programed to clean on specific dates and time. I read the manual, followed step by step and it only works automatically on Fridays.

Compared to the more expensive roomba I would go for this one every time. It has 2 sweepers instead of the 1 that comes on a roomba

I bought it thinking it will do my job:-) Alas, it did part of it and because I have different types of carpets and one was with the fringes, I decided to return it. I tried several times to see whether the vacuum will know how to deal with it. However, every time it suck it and was stuck.

I have 5 dogs and hair is a problem. This works great on dog hair.

Does a decent job of vacuuming. Sometimes does find its home. For 199. It's ok. Not 299 though.

This is a good vacuum, you just have to be careful leaving phone chargers or small items that can get in the way of the vacuum because it can get stuck in the wheels. Over all its a good purchase. Make sure to get an extra filter.

Vacuum has powerful suction. Does great on hardwood and tile and carpet. Picks up a lot of pet hair as well. Navigation is ok, sometimes it gets stuck in places but always manages to get itself out. Be careful because it lives to eat headphones and phone chargers.

Had to try out a new product to see if this would really help in cleaning. To my surprise it works great. It helps to have this product do a clean up and to sit back and relax.

The little robot is OK, I have a lot of dog hair on my carpet, so I still have to vacuum pretty regularly, but this is good for my tile and for in-between clean ups.
