Better than a manual pad-type mop but a bit pricey

Pros: * Lightweight * Easy to use * Sufficient motor power * Adequate battery life * Refillable fluid bottle and reusable cleaning pads Cons: * Could use more pressure on the pads for deeper cleaning * Easy to “walk away” while spinning so have to control its motion * Poor value versus similar non-motorized mops We have terrazzo and tile flooring throughout our home. Vacuuming is necessary for regular maintenance but wet mopping must also be done to get the typical traffic areas and muddy foot and paw prints. We’ve tried everything from manual (Swiffer-type) to motorized (Floor-mate) options and even semi-commercial spinning hard floor cleaners. They all have their pros and cons, so we’re constantly on the look-out for better options. The Bissell SpinWave Cordless mop is a reasonably good option for fill-in cleaning but isn’t quite optimal for more intense cleaning. The unit is relatively light which is a double-edged sword for cleaning floors; it’s easy to carry from room to room, but the lack of heft means that it doesn’t really muscle in to scrub the floors. It does a better job than the manual mops due to the spinning pads so it’s great for day-to day cleaning, but not so great for really deep cleaning. There are two buttons on the handle that are easy to see and use; one for turning the unit on and off and the other for manually spraying the solution from the refillable bottle. The battery status LEDs are easy to see and understand, too. The AC adapter is a typical wall-wart type that plugs into a hole on the handle. A docking base would be really nice, since it has a docking tray (to keep the wet pads from sitting on the floor) but you still have to plug the charging cable in separately. Overall, the unit cleans well enough and is easier to use than a manual spray-type mop for every-day cleaning. The value for the price paid is not the best, and would be better at a lower cost (price reduction or when on sale). The included reusable pads and refillable bottle make the price paid a bit easier to accept since you don’t have to continuously buy new bottles of fluid or replace disposable pads.

Seeing my wife use a mop for years on our floors I thought the BISSELL - SpinWave Cordless Powered Mop would make the job so much easier for her. So once I had this unit assembled (you literally snap the handle to the main body, put on the cleaning pads and you are ready to go). You should plug the wireless unit in to charge which takes a few hours as the initial from the factory charge can vary. There are a series of three blue lights that provide a status of the battery charge. Two small containers of multi use cleaner are provided with the unit, mix with water and place in the reservoir on the front of the unit. Once charged you are ready to clean. You can dispense solution on the floor from the unit and it provides a small chime to indicate it was dispensed. My wife used the unit and came to the conclusion that very little solution was needed to clean the floor. Now some of her observations were that if you like the pad cleaner (starts with S ends in R) you will be a fan of this BISSELL SpinWave Cordless Powered Mop. However as I found out, she likes to rinse the mop during use to actually clean the floor and remove dirt. She said that wet pad cleaning solutions are kinda just like spreading around the grime (did not know this prior to getting this unit - my bad). I mentioned to her, this is more of a commentary on her way of cleaning, this unit does what it was designed to do and does it well. She also mentioned that with the tank full of solution it really adds to the weight of this cordless unit. She also said unlike a mop it was difficult to get into tight places (like around a toilet) when using a traditional mop. My observations were the linoleum floor looked clean and shiny after using this unit and our hardwood floors looked fantastic (however be careful to sweep or vacuum up any dirt prior, as the circular motion of the pads could scratch hardwoods if dirt or small rocks get caught up in the pads). However she mentioned that the linoleum floor was a little sticky from the solution (I also thought so), I suspect it would be less so when using less of it. The pads are washable and can be put in a washing machine. A rubber tray is provided so you can place the unit (standing up) on the tray with wet pads. Overall I thought this was a nice addition to our fleet of cleaning devices. Not sure how much she is going to use it though. However I plan on repurposing it to clean my elderly mom’s laminate floors. I suspect it will do a wonderful job. Pros: - Wireless, built in 18v rechargeable battery. - cleaning solution provided (use a little at a time) - awesome if you already like wet mopping pad cleaning solutions. Cons: - heavier than expected with solution in the tank (don’t fill to the top) - old fashioned rinse and repeat mop fans might not care for it. - solution leaves a sticky residue (at least on linoleum floors). - hard to use in tight place (like near toilets) however it is very maneuverable.

I've used this mop several times in the week I've had it and so far its just about average. The battery lasts for a decent amount of time for a fully cordless mop. I would say about 30 minutes or so. I liked that it came with two bottles of cleaning solution and two sets of cleaning pads so i could use it right out of the box. Also included is a tray that the mop sits in when not in use. Not a big deal, but kind of nice to have. My biggest complaint with this mop is that it is more suitable for surface cleaning. I have young kids who specialize in making messes. This works well for quick clean ups and spills, but not for something that has hardened or been sitting overnight. I like that it cleans in a circular motion unlike my Shark Mop that just steams the floor. I wish the brushes scrubbed a little bit harder so that it would clean more of the hardened mess on the floor. I used the scrub pads with the cleanser and it picked up the easy stains pretty easily. I tried cleaning up spaghetti sauce that was left overnight and I had to saturate it with the water and it still didn't clean it all up. I ended up scrubbing it with a separate scrub brush and then cleaned it up. I thought this mop would let me get rid of the conventional mop and bucket, but instead, it is ideal for use in between heavy cleanings and for spot cleanups. For the price, i would probably buy something else, so I wouldn't recommend this mop for primary use and there are other options available that are a little bit less.

    Not what I was expecting

Our new house has a lot of tile so I thought I’d try this steam mop out. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed with how it “cleans”. My Swiffer works better for picking up dirt. It might be nice if you only needed it for a quick polish, but who has time for that? I had to return. Thankfully Best Buy has excellent customer service.

I rated this 3 stars becasue of the documentation. In the description, it states it can be used for a variety of surfaces. The manual states for sealed hardwood surfaces. I have tile and am unsure if it can be used for it. I would recommend to a friend if they had hardwood.

Does not work good if floor is very dirty but is sufficient for quick cleaning when you have unannounced visitors

Does a decent job, doesn’t steam, and requires going over the same section repeatedly.
