Design: With the countless number of vacuums on the market, I feel that the amount of effective solutions for hard floor cleaning is lacking. That is one reason why I was excited to see a vacuum-like device made by Bissell hit the market. Not knowing what to expect, I was pleasantly surprised to find many excellent features built into the design. First and foremost, the Bissell SpinWave is cordless and easy to carry around when not in use, so I would consider it convenient. The SpinWave seems well built but also relatively lightweight, which adds to the ease of carrying it from room to room as well as the ability to maneuver it across the floor. Additionally, cleaning around chairs or other objects is simplified by the swivel steering mechanism. Finally, the solution spray button and on/off button are both conveniently located on the handle. I have no complaints about the design. Other Features: On a full charge, the SpinWave runs for about 20 minutes. This is sufficient for me, but I need to make sure that I recharge it after every use, and I wish I could get a couple uses out of it before a recharge is needed. However, if one has a smaller surface area to clean in their home, 20 minutes could be enough time for multiple cleaning jobs. There is a battery power indicator to let the user know how much battery is left, which is nice. So far, I have not encountered any issues with the on-demand spray or rotating mop pads. Everything is working as it should. Effectiveness: I thought it would be difficult to beat the effectiveness of manual scrubbing and mopping, but the SpinWave does just that. I would say it cleans just as well, if not better than I can do. The two rotating mop pads spin quickly, and there are two distinct mop pad types that allow you to handle any situation. One set is softer and works great for everyday cleaning, and the other is more rigid, which works best on harder to clean messes. For those looking to save time and energy, I do not think the Bissell SpinWave will disappoint. It sure beats hand scrubbing or mopping the floor. Verdict: Due to the significant surface area of hard flooring in our home, keeping it clean can be a difficult and time-consuming task. I am thankful to have the Bissell SpinWave now because it is quick and convenient to use, and I do not have to sacrifice effectiveness when compared to manual scrubbing or mopping. My only wish is that the battery life was a little longer, but that is a minor inconvenience for me, and the battery life may be more than sufficient for others depending on how much hard flooring one has. Overall, I would recommend the Bissell SpinWave to anyone with hard floors that desires to clean them with ease. The SpinWave will save time and energy.

A much easier way to get floors super clean!

No one likes to clean floors, it's a fact of life though that, unless we're blessed with enough money to hire a maid, we are going to have to do something to get those floors clean because...civilization right? Well my wife and I have looked high and low for solutions, we've tried just about every type of thing out there but have always come back to the simple mop solution with hands & knees touchup which is the best, but by no means the easiest or most desirable. We have, for a while, used a steam cleaner solution and it works rather well in concentrated areas but for an overall effect of cleanliness it just does not get the job done as well as we'd like. Upon receiving this my wife and I went about unboxing it and hoping it wouldn't be too much to do, because let's face it, no one really wants to spend their Saturday with this type of chore. Thankfully the assembly was very simple and very fast. There just wasn't much to put together at all to be honest. The majority of the time was simply reading and the actual physical act of unboxing everything. Speaking of unboxing, the Spinwave *does* come with two bottles of cleaning solution at the bottom of the box. Upon our initial unboxing we missed that (ok, I missed it) and the wife went back to look again after seeing in the manual that it should have included cleaning solution and lo and behold it did have cleaning solution bottles in the very bottom of the box. Out of the box the instructions say that you will need to charge for up to four hours before use. In our case our unit was fairly charged and in about 45 minutes it exhibited a full charge, indicated by very large blue lights on the front of the unit. If you have poor eyesight you will be very happy with the indicators of charge because it's impossible to miss, the lights are large and when you're charging they flash a large blue flash. Filling up the unit with the cleaning solution was, again, very easy to understand. You have two methods, a small mop session or a large mop session. Both are clearly marked on the actual unit and for us, we chose the large mop session, which means you will input a larger quantity of water as well as cleaning solution. There are two marks on each session indicator. You simply fill up the jug with water until you get to the mark that says "water" and then you continue to fill it slightly more until you get to the mark entitled "solution". Be aware that although this has the convenience of being cordless that, because of the nature of the rotating brushes, you will only get about 20 minutes worth of mop time before it's time to go back to the power line for more charging. With that being said, as long as you are aware you should be able to finish a large section unless you dilly dally (don't dilly dally!). If this is an issue you should know about that going in but honestly my wife was able to clean our front entrance way, the dining room, another entry room, our kitchen and our hallway on one charge so it should not be a problem. If it is, then buy two! So now the bottom line here, does it get your floor clean? Does it get it as clean as old fashioned mopping and hands & knees scrubbing? Yes it does! So long as you use the correct amount of solution and are thorough you will find when you are done that your floor will look fantastic, at least we did in our initial use. Honestly when I got home to see the floors I thought that my wife had possibly used the old fashioned mop, because they just looked that good! Now in case you are wondering, yes the pads will probably need washed after each use, you just throw them in a machine washer on delicate and then air dry them. The unit comes with two sets of pads, one for general use and one for fine/delicate use. The general pads come on the unit out of the box so we haven't had a chance to adhere them to the unit but it does come with a base to line them up and it appears to be easy. For me, I gave it five stars just for ease of assembly, the technology behind the product and the overall sturdiness and functionality of the unit. But the real question is what would my wife think - would it be up to her standards? Are the floors clean enough after using the Spinwave?? She said, yes...YES INDEED!!! Five stars from my wife as well! And if that don't tell you that the Spinwave is a winner then I don't know what will! TWO THUMBS UP...A RECOMMENDED BUY!

About two years ago got the Bissell CrossWave, which is great, but also like the extra convenience of this which is cordless. Although it works a bit differently, both use the same cleaning formulas. This unit came with two sample-size bottles of multi-surface formulas, a set of smooth pads installed and an extra set of 'scrubby' pads. It's fairly compact, no assembly required, and lightweight. The pads spin somewhat slowly and so is fairly quiet, a faint whirl, and does not bother others in the house. It takes about four hours to fully charge, and that provides about 30 minutes of runtime, for which I used about the small fill-line in the water/formula container. Ours came with two sample bottles of Multi-Surface formula. Since the floors were relatively dirty, used the multi-surface formula with the 'scrubby' pads. It cleaned the hardwood floors well, picking up stuck-on dirt the vacuums couldn't handle. Also used it on shiny ceramic on a bathroom floors. The floors dried up in a few minutes, but it left lots of residue and dull-looking floors. The next day, since the floors were now cleaner but still dull-looking, used the hardwood formula, which we had for the Bissell CrossWave, and this time, it left the hardwood floor back to its normal shine. It's very maneuverable and easy to use when cleaning under the feet of kitchen cabinets and around baseboards, since the pads won't scratch them. The mop has two buttons: And on/off and a spray button. The pads start spinning only after reclining the handle and stop when putting it straight. When pressing the spray button, it also makes a faint chime to remind that it's spraying formula. For storing, it comes with a tray, so storing it with moist pads is not a problem, it also stands on its own, so it's simple to store. The pads can be rinsed with warm water or are machine washable (wash them separately from clothes). Filling up the tank is straightforward: Remove it from the mop by pushing it up. There are no latches nor other pieces that might break. The tank itself is about the size of a sports water bottle. Fill it up with warm/hot tap water to the first mark, add formula to the second mark, close the cap and put it back on the mop, that's it. It has a cap that won't leak until is fully inserted into the mop. To keep in mind, the battery is not replaceable. It would be good to have a formula for hardwoods that would provide more luster. As for the multi-surface formula, consider using less of the formula mixed with the water for less residue on shiny floors, that worked better for me.

Bissell Spinwave Mop Keeping It Simple

I figured by the slightly weighty feel to the Spinwave that it would be kind of powerful and I was not disappointed. The AC charger needs to be connected until the indicator lights show it's ready. Once I added warm tap water and the included cleaning solution to the easy-to-access fluid tank (it has marks for small and large jobs) and put the tank cap back on and into position it was ready to work. The two sets of included pads (fine and coarse) attach with tough velcro pads and can be set inside the storage base to make it easy to center them on the mop. Set the pads in place, and set the mop down right on them in the base, and you are ready to go. I chose the small job tank level and set about doing the linoleum floors in the kitchen and 2 bathrooms. It took very little time and with the swivel ability of the mop head itself and the ability of the pad edges to reach further than the actual mop ahead along the edges of cabinets and appliances, I was able to get clean what I can't quite hit with a steam mop. The mop motors are pretty powerful but quiet, and you can feel the "intertia" of them as they spin the mop pads. All you have to do to spray the cleaner is press a button on the handle and the unit beeps to confirm the solution is coming out. I noticed the mop wants to "travel" quickly a bit along edges of carpet edge strips, but there is nothing that seems of a concern. The ease of getting the tank in and out, the ease of attaching and detaching the cleaning pads, the remaining battery indicator (I used a third on this test) and the overall good job it did make this Spinwave mop a decent addition to your household cleaning arsenal. I bet it would make keeping a laminate floored house clean a lot easier than with a steam mop, though really high traffic and grungy situations might benefit from the heat of those. In any case, the Spinwave was very quick to set up and very easy to use.

This powered floor mop is fantastic! The way I describe this product to people is that it’s like one of those machines that janitors use in schools to buff the floor (like in the movies) – except modern looking, made for your house, and lightweight/compact. Setup is a snap, all you do is attach two touch pads and add the appropriate solution/water combo. It comes with softer pads for hardwood floors and scrubby ones for tougher messes. Using it is even easier because of the rotating pads – it’s basically self-propelled with the only work coming from using the on-demand spray to dispense as much or little solution on the floor (which is great for wood and laminate floors especially). In terms of solutions, there are various ones such as an all-in-one, wood, or even area rug. Which brings me to my favorite part – it can be used on area rugs too! What an insanely brilliant idea. As you’re cleaning your floor you can literally just move it from the floor to the area rug – so all walking areas are being cleaned. I have already recommended this to all my family and friends. Each person has been amazed when using it and has either bought one or is saving up to get one. I’ve gone through a ton of cleaning tools and it ended up sticking with the traditional mop and bucket with pedal that spins the mop in the bucket before coming upon this. Everything else I have come across either didn’t do a great job cleaning or if it did, it took too long to assemble/clean up. This is the perfect mix of great cleaning ability, ease-of-use, and complete tool; not to mention has replaced all floor cleaning tools and products unrelated to this. If you have hard floors, this is a must have!

    Nice Clean Floors Again!

As a single guy who rarely has anyone over, I tend to not bother with things like cleaning the floors. Yes, I let my Shark Robot Vacuum run around every week and pick up the dust but I tend to forget to mop the floors. You know it's time to mop when you bounce a ball on the floor and it sticks. Well it wasn't quite that bad but it did have some sticky spots. I always found it a pain to fill a bucket with water, add some cleaning solution to it and drag it around the rooms trying not to bump into it while mopping. This Bissell SpinWave Cordless Powered Mop made the job easy and the floors are nice and clean again. The mop is easy to maneuver, it turns on a dime and is pretty light weight. The spray bottle pulls out for filling and the lines on the bottle made it easy to add the right amount of cleaning fluid to the water. The mop comes with 2 sets of cleaning pads, soft touch pads for light mopping and scrubby pads for seriously sticky floors. It also came with two 8 ounce bottles of multi surface cleaning solution. It came with a storage tray for storing the mop and the tray helps you re-align the pads after you've removed the dirty pads and washed and dried them.Of course it also came with a power adapter to charge the mop. The blue indicators on the front of the mop let you know how much charge is left. Charging takes 4 hours for a full charge. The only problem I found is due to the size of the cleaning heads, I couldn't get it between my tub and my toilet. If it were slightly smaller, it would have fit, but it wasn't that big a deal. Knowing how easy it is now to clean my floors, I will probably have clean floors way more often.

The Bissell SpinWave comes with a manual but it is so intuitive that you can probably just ignore it. The indicators for the cleaning solution included in the package certainly helps too. Spraying the cleaning solution is simple. To start, let me tell you that mopping floor is probably the worst thing I have to do inside my house every week. It’s a tedious job and I’m always looking for something to make it easier. This mop is very lightweight and the spinning process makes it almost effortless to mop my wood floor, since it moves the Bissell SpinWave forward. The fact that it is cordless is probably the coolest feature for me since I hate wires entangling while I work. Full battery charge is good for about 20 minutes but that’s enough to finish the first floor of my house. The pads can be cleaned in the washing machine. I was very satisfied with the results. It cleaned the floors much better than I could manually. It also cleaned better than my automated robot mop although that one should be used only as a quick in-between after a real mopping job, which this Bissell can do very well. The scrubby pad was great in areas such as the kitchen where the floor is tiles and the soft ones were perfect on the hardwood floors. I did find one thing that could be better designed: the stand. It should not be used if the pads are wet because it spills. Still, this is first mop that I gladly have nice things to say about. Better than this is when they come up with a totally automated one, similar to the robot I have but that can perform as well as this Bissel SpinWave. For now, this one is hard to beat.

I went into this test with trepidation - a battery-powered device with spinning pads and how could something so lightweight clean effectively. I came away very surprised after a week of testing and ownership. This device is so simple to use - charge it up before first use - following directions on mixing cleaning solution - and then clean. What I discovered was that even my "clean" house needed several passes (over several days) to bring my floor to a high level of clean and feel. One use is not going to clean as well as you'd like - it is much like using a robot vacuum - first and second uses will leave you wondering why you paid what you did for the device. The key with this device (and the robot cleaner reference I used), is to live with it and to use it regularly. This device saves time and will leave you WANTING to clean floors. With each use the floor leaves less brown nastiness on the pads and you will start getting the floor to just be a proper clean. Then you can just do weekly or more as you like to maintain (instead of spreading dirt from one place to another). I highly recommend this to people who are busy and/or who hate to do floors. It holds a charge and just makes doing floors nearly effortless. Cleanup of the pads is easy per the instructions and I even found hand washing with laundry detergent and hanging to dry works as well. Two sets of two pads are provided - a "scrubby" one which I used from the outset and a softer one that I now use to maintain the clean which I've achieved.

I've been using a spray bottle and a push mop to clean my hardwood floors for a few years. The SpinWave does an excellent job removing spots off the floor and restoring a shine I don't quite get from a push mop. Pros: The spinwave comes with two different types of pads. One set for occasional cleaning and a 2nd set with scrubbers for tougher jobs. Applying the pads are pretty easy. Lay them in the tray that comes with the SpinWave and sit the heads straight down on top and the velcro does the rest. Using the mop is pretty simple. Push the power button and it starts rotating. It moves a bit odd at times as the heads rotate on the floor, but it's pretty easy to control. Pull the trigger when you're ready for cleaning solution. The spray goes about 5-6 inches in front of the mop and the cleaning agent worked great on my floor. The pads are washable so your not roped into constantly buying disposable pads. Cons: The battery life isn't super but it's enough to finish my floors. It is also a bit large and the scrub pads take up a lot of room. Storage may be a bit tricky for some. Some may find navigating it a bit difficult as the spinning pads may sway it in one direction or another, but after a few minutes, I had a pretty good handle on it. Final Thoughts: I would recommend this if you're looking to get away from the mop or disposable pads and want to get a great shine with less effort.

Want the Kids to Mop? Problem Solved!

If I handed my kids a mop & bucket I'd end up with 1) Two complaining kids, 2) A flooded kitchen. Put this thing in their hands and there is excitement to use. Just don't tell them they're mopping. #CleaningToys The SpinWave features 2 good-sized pads that spin to do a good job of cleaning tile and wood floors. This isn't for cleaning up a spill like a mop would be, of course, but more than replaces a standard mop for cleaning jobs. Two sets of pads are included, one a "scrubby" pad for deep dirt, and works GREAT on textured tile floors, and the other a flat pad for more standard cleaning or polishing. Pads can easily be washed in the washer when dirty, not only allowing them to be reused, but also avoiding the nastiness of string or sponge mops. The SpinWave includes a removable water bottle with clearly-marked lines for mixing cleaning fluid and water (2 lines -- 1 for "small jobs" and 1 for "large jobs"). The device is cordless, and quickly recharges with the included AC adapter. When not in use, the SpinWave includes a plastic base to keep your pads from just sitting on the floor. But as mentioned, the kids will love using this to help clean up. Certainly not what Bissell probably wants to use as a primary marketing tactic, but you can't discount being able to use something to get the kids to help.

Very easy to set up. Out of the box, all you have to do is attach the handle and put it on the charger for 4 hours, then ready to use. I like that they included 2 sample bottles of the multi purpose cleaner. Each bottle will clean your "large" size floors twice. The pads are easy to put on or take off. They attach with velcro. They are very absorbant. I mopped my large ceramic floor with one set of pads and they still could have held more. When it is turned on you can move the cleaner across your floors with ease. As to the battery, it seems to last a while. I fully charged my unit, kept it continuously running for 15 minutes and still had at least half of the charge left. Cleaning: I used this on ceramic floors with grout. For the tile part, the mop did an excellent job of cleaning. However, since the pads are terrycloth, it didn't do much for getting in the grout. I do not have wood floor to test it, but I am sure it would work great on smooth surfaces such as wood or concrete. I like the fact that the pads extend past the cleaner just a little bit so that it cleans all the way to the edges of the floor. Overall, I would say this is excellent for floors with a smooth surface. For grouted tile, it is great for a quick mop but occasionally you will still need to use something else to clean the grout.

Quite, long lasting battery, and good cleaning power! These are just a few reasons why I think this little Bissell would be a hit as a housewarming gift or a gift for yourself! First things first , this will clean tile, hardwood, or laminate and the solution that comes with it is a multi purpose for all three. Tile and laminate are almost impossible to ruin with something like this so that’s why at least I believe they show in the manual about cleaning sealed hardwoods and not the other two. The product is well built and the battery last for the time Bissell says and the some (which is nice considering most manufacturers exaggerate this) , I cleaned for at least 20 to 25 minutes and still had one bar. When you dispense the solution it makes a nice little beep to let you know it. Cordless technology has come so far and is definitely the future of cleaning, no more cord to trip over. I don’t think anybody would be unhappy with receiving this as a gift!

Okay, I'll admit that I am perhaps one of the worst when it comes to house cleaning. Seriously, until this Spinwave I hadn't owned a mop since I moved in to my apartment six months ago. For my apartment I only have two areas that are not carpeted, the kitchen (small) and the bathroom (surprisingly large). If I made a mess I'd typically just wipe it up. I did not realize just how "dirty" those two floors were until after the first time I used the Spinwave! It took a couple of hours to hit a full charge and I started with the scrubbing pads that were included in the box. Whoa! What a difference! This things is dead simple to use and really does a nice job of cleaning the floors. And the added convenience of a powered scrubbing "mop" means that I don't mind running this thing a couple of times a week. The swivel head means it can get to some hard to reach places and makes it kind of neat to use. As I said, I don't have an entire house to clean using this so I've been able to get about two uses between charges. If your home/apartment is primarily hardwood or laminate then you'll probably have some issues with the battery. Overall, this Spinwave is an excellent buy. And fun to use.

My wife and I couldnt be happier to have this to clean with. Our hardwoods are new and kids are all grown and gone so they dont get really dirty except for normal dust and cat sneezes on them. All we used on that was plain water and the normal cleaning pads and they were beautiful. The kitchen vinyl takes more abuse because of drips and drops while cooking, cleaning and taking out the garbage. Plus its alight color and we live in coal country about 1500' away from the main track between the mines and the local power plant and coal dust is an issue as we track it in and the vinyl seems to be a magnet for it. It was hard to clean with conventional mops but this power mop gets it so clean that it almost looks and feels like a new floor. We cleaned it with the Bissell cleaner provided with the powermop and it did a superior job of getting into the texture on the floor and it really dries fast, its nearly dry when you finish. The battery was only 1/3 depleated and we cleaned the Kitchen, Dining and living room combo and the bathroom. The bathroom flooring is the luxury snap lock vinyl and we used the Bissell cleaning solution on that as well.

BISSELL's SpinWave truly is convenient. I works as well as its corded model. The obvious difference is it needs to be charged and then runs about 45-minutes. But that aside it is super easy to maneuver, gently but quickly spinning up to speed. The on/off button is nicely placed just below the spray button on the top of the handle/stalk. The caring handle could be a bit wider for my large hands, but it is light and balanced to carry, with no cord! The fill bottle comes with fill marking, first add the water then top it with soap. One can fill to either the small or large room marks. The smaller cleaned two (2) upstairs bathrooms, a first floor powder room and 12' x 10' kitchen. The cordless was easy to carry up and down the stairs. Activating the sprayer button produces a short beep so you know you are spraying and then faintly hear the pump motor which produces a wide path spray in front of the rotating mops. Dried floor stain, once sprayed are no match for the constantly rotating pads. I was happily surprised how well the mop heads removed and then help the soil.

The Bissell SpinWave is a mop that has robust features. Firstly, the mop comes ready to use. There isn’t anything to put together. All one needs to do is add cleaning fluids and you’re good to go! I used the mop in my kitchen which has linoleum and it did a thorough cleaning job. The pads are very thick in which they do a great job of picking up dirt particles without leaving evidence of films on the floor. Also, I used the mop on my hard wood floors and again, it did a thorough cleaning job. The mop only gives 20 minutes of cleaning time, which I was able to get everything in. I did feel a little rushed as I was worried about possibly re-charging. I commend Bissell on manufacturing great products at affordable costs. This is my 3rd product of theirs and I can honestly say that all 3 have been very reliable with consistent robust results!

A couple things I noticed right out of the box is how light this machine is and how simple it is to assemble. Click the handle into the base and it's ready to go. I charged it up and was ready to go. What's included will get you started pretty quickly. Two small bottles of multipurpose cleaning solution and two sets of pads; one for standard cleaning and one for scrubbing. I started with cleaning a time floor and this made short order of the work. An occasional press of the solution button and I was off to the races. The floor dried very quickly and did not have that sticky feeling that some cleaners do on tile. Next up was a wood floor. Again, the rotating brushes made cleaning the floor almost a non task. Same results as with the tile, no sticky residue and a clean and polished floor. And amazingly, the battery was still fully charged!

If you're used to getting old the old fashioned mop and bucket or a swiffer this might be the mop for you. This one makes cleaning up your hardwoods quick and easy. In some ways it reminds me of the old floor buffer your school janitor used...only not quite as big. I can't really speak for any big sticky, dirty messes, but I used this a couple times now on everyday cleaning of oak floors and it seems to do a pretty good job. It goes really quickly not having to deal with a mop/bucket, and even better than a swiffer I don't need to wear myself out pacing the floor back and forth and changing out dirty pads. This thing pretty much does all the work for you once you turn it on. If you're looking for a quick clean and shine and don't want to hassle with a swiffer and changing out pads and whatnot, this may be the device for you.

I got this Bissell powered mop to clean my wooden floors. To begin with, putting it together out of the box is very easy. If you can't figure something out the directions are very good. Initially you do have to charge it for 4 hours. Once it was charged I used the powered mop on my wooden floors. It comes with 2 bottles of cleaning solution that you add to the water tank. The Bissell did a great job on my wooden floors, it was able to remove some particles from my floors that I believe the machine wasn't going to be able to. I was impressed with the power that it has. The only downside to this mop is that the charge only lasts 20 minutes or so. It is very easy to maneuver around the floors. I would highly recommend this Bissell powered mop if you are looking to easily and quickly clean your wooden floors.

I love that the cleaning pads are machine washable and there's a mop stand included. The mop cleaning pads rotate, which gently moves it forward. This creates a lightweight effortless cleaning process. The description says it has a 20 minute battery life on a full charge, but I think that's an understatement. It took me at least 30 minutes to clean my floor and it still had some life leftover. I believe for a new product, a full charge could potentially last between 40-45 minutes. After a certain amount of time, it will then die down to holding only a 20 min. charge. Installation and pad replacement is a breeze and cleaning the water tank out is easy. This mop is so lightweight I would buy this for my grandmother!
