I found this to be a well done exploitation of mental illness without a clinical feel. It had that arty foreign film feel I enjoy once in a while. The director did a good job as did the actors. Beautiful costumes, cinematography, and good special effects topped it off. I had never seen this movie prior to purchase and didn't have high expectations. I purchased it because I love Tchaikovsky and ballet. i used to dance around the house to Swan Lake as a child and continue listening to it often as an adult. The movie took me by surprise and I enjoyed that. The older I become, the less surprises in life. This was a good one.

That was the saddest movie I have ever watched. All the hours of training, all the sacrifices all the incredible pressure. Exquisitely portrayed. Every cast member was excellent. Every character very well acted. It was a triumph as far as getting the point across. I gave 4 stars because I didn't feel the transcendence of the main character, but only the immense sorrow of all the failed attempts.

This BD version of BLACK SWAN is a huge improvement over the DVD version. The picture quality is improved and the special features are far more extensive, going into even further detail about the making of the film. The main menu, where you access those feature, could have been designed better. It's a little cumbersome navigating around to what you are looking for. Overall though, the BD is a massive step up from the DVD, and well worth the extra money.

A great Blu-Ray transfer of a great movie. Also includes a digital copy. I redeemed it over Vudu and is Movies Anywhere. The movie is possibly the director's best work (though I might put The Wrestler up a notch). Performances are all top tier as well. There are several special features and I believe most are on Movies Anywhere as well.

No matter how many times I watch this movie, I'm just as bewildered as the first time! It's so unusual, there are so many dynamics at play, the mom and daughter relationship, the dancer and teacher relationship, etc. I love Natalie Portman and I think this is the craziest role she's done! But she really was amazing with both the dancing and acting. I personally like it but it's not a movie that can span across all audiences.

I thought the movie was pretty good, but don't understand what all the "hype" was about. Unless you take into account the lesbian scene, which on reflection, must have gotten people's attention. It was pretty hot from the male perspective. Not a great date movie because it would make most women uncomfortable, but it did have enough twists and turns to make it interesting so I'll give it 4 stars.

Acting and camara work was done well. Story kinda fell apart but still worth a watch

Without saying anything plot related, I just want to say that Natalie Portman really shines her way through the movie. The acting is amazing as you see her progress from who she is and who she has become. Black Swan is a film about ballet but don't pass it up because of it. The film is very well made and full of subtlety, richness and depth. Indeed an excellent thriller!

Black Swan is the kind of movie you expect from Darren Aronofsky. Natalie Portman and Mila Kunis deliver great performances, and it's a great, trippy psychological thriller. The digital copy for this movie still worked in Feb 2021, and was a great addition.

This is an amazing movie, you really needs to understand how everything can happen when you don’t know yourself. I have to watch this movie two times to understand the entire story. You must have this on your collection.

I love Requiem for a Dream, The Fountain, The Wrestler. Add Black Swan to that list. Natalie Portman has long been my favorite actress and she kills in this movie. She rightfully won the Academy Award for her performance. Mila Kunis shows a new side to her talents and she's fantastic. Great acting, great writing, and amazing cinematography.

Really good movie with strong performance from Natalie Portman. This movie can be confusing at time and can really mess with you mind. Good story telling and cinematography.

The movie is good as well, and came with a digital code. The art on the Steelbook is amazing. It has a nice metallic shine to it that can't be seen in the photos. Definitely worth picking up if you are a Steelbook collector. The movie was just the added bonus to the Steelbook.

Black Swan is a fantastic movie. The acting (particularly Natalie Portman's) is fantastic, and the story is wonderfully dark and twisted. The picture, as is always the case with Blu Rays, looks great, and the high definition sound specifically stands out with the soundtrack. Absolutely worth owning if you're a movie lover!

I admired this film. Definitely not one that you want to watch with your kids. The work and perfection achieved by the main actresses and actor is something to strive for... It's slow at times; though, it pushes the limits of our conventional society's morale. I would recommend this to the right friend.

In this psychological thriller we see a rivalry between two dancers which quickly becomes a one side race to self destruction. This slow burn build up film is one that will leave have you wondering if its reality or insanity that you are witnessing.

A great script written by Mark Heyman, Andres Heinz, and John McLaughlin. Probably Darren Aronofsky's best film. You should also watch Pi and Requiem for a Dream. Keeps your heart pounding and provides a provocative and chilling physiological curve. Also very sexually and passionate. See it. #mr140c

This is the closest a film can get to feeling like it was made by Roman Polanski without actually being made by Roman Polanski. With this movie darren aronofsky crafts an atmospheric and tense thriller that offers more than meets the eye.

Very good thriller! Strong cast, great story, and the visuals are beautiful. I fully recommend. I’ve seen it with a few people and they all liked it a lot. And I love the digital option.

Black Swan is one of those films that you will either love or hate with its grandiosity and heavy drama, but I personally love this surreal/psychological tale. Though due to its weight and impact it's become one of those films I can only watch about once a year.
