The device is in fact locked to sprint but the description clearly states that it shouldn't be 1 out of 5 star review. I actually went to the sprint store and tried out the phone purchasing it from best buy. This in fact is the model ending in 003 which is the same exact internal specs as the CDMA unlocked phone which can be used on verizon. I have talked to sprint and they have confirmed that they will unlock the device so long as it is paid off in full and have been on the sprint network for at least 50 days which is fair. The new devices that sprint is selling is expected to have solved the screen lift issue as they are all built in July. The phone overall is speedy, the speaker is loud. It just seems like a professional device. I am coming from an S8 which you might think is crazy, but honestly all other devices are all the same. I tend to be a person who switches phones alot, so I can't say I'm going to keep this phone forever, but I've had both the passport and classic, and I loved typing on the passport, but the lack of app and the abysmal OS was a problem. We now have a great device with an awesome camera (yes on a blackberry) which has full access to the app store. If you're a blackberry fan or a customer wanting to try something new go ahead and pick this up. Best buy is awesome with their customer service as usual. PS. If you are on ATT starting sept 1 i think the black version will be on that network, but honestly i kinda like the silver version better, especially since the black version will be the same internals as the silver in the US it won't be the limited edition with the extra ram and storage, but I guess its subjective.
