One can make copies of non-copwyrited materials with remarkable ease. However, it will not allow me to make a backup of protected materials. When I bought this product, it claimed that the owner could use the product to make a backup of any CD or DVD. Not so, do not believe the claims made on the exterior of the box.. Only buy this program if you plan to use it to copy non-protected materials.

To back up my DVD's I first had to download a simple plugin which took only seconds to complete. Also it comes with a program that will allow you to strip audio from video clips. Now the only thing is that with this DVD copying program you can't fast forward through your backed up DVD. There is an other copying program that is only accessible through a online digital download only. This program is called DVDFAB, which does allow you to fast forward and rewind through your backed up DVD's. This flaw in not being able to fast forward or rewind in 123 Copy DVD Gold, is the only downside that I can speak of. As for the downsides for DVDFAB the price is outrageous, you must be connected to the internet to back up or use any of their products. So there for the price and versatility of 123 Copy DVD Gold I believe it's a very solid product. There is a learning curve to this program that's not taught in any instructions so be aware and ask people for help on here and/or google. This may be able to guide you with any problems your having if you're not familiar with using DVD backup programs.

The software is super easy to install and maintain. I've used older copies of this software and it works like the older versions. I've used it to backup our movie collection and allows us to view the files on more devices. I find that ripping cd's can be difficult and doesn't work as well as Windows Media Player, in my opinion. I wouldn't use it for professional video editing, but simple projects it will get some clips pieced together. Lag when trying to watch videos in the UI. Works for what I use it for, but it's not a good one stop shop for everything.

My laptop does not have a DVD/CD drive. When I travel, I like to watch movies or when staying somewhere other than home. I have a collection of over 450 DVD's. So, I will choose some movies that I would like to see again, burn them to the portable hard drive on my desktop and then use the portable HD to store those movies that I burned using the software. I haven't used some of the other software abilities but it's been pretty easy to use. I had an earlier version of this software and used it for years, but the company stopped making updates so I had to buy a newer version. For the price it was worth it.

Giving 1 star only because I can't post a zero rating. Had 123DVD Gold 2013 on a PC which was replaced. Worked great. HOWEVER, bought 123DVD Gold 2014 (installed by Geek Squad) for new PC bought @ Best Buy. 123 DVD Gold 2013 also installed on new PC. 2013 version won't work on new PC. The 2013 version won't download videos in Windows 10 and won't work with Adobe Flashplayer. So, only choice is 123 DVD Gold 2014...HOWEVER, 2014 pixelates every downloaded video regardless of source, quality speed, etc. 2014 version requires one-by-one URL insertion from video source. However, video sources were accessible from within 123 2013. 2013 allowed multiple downloads into 123 2013 without leaving source. 123 DVD Gold maker, Bling Software, on West Coast, does not offer phone support. They offer chat "when they are available". Only communication I have had is via email. Bling is not helpful. Some replies take more than 48 hours. They also send automatic email replies saying that if they don't hear back from you, they will assume the "case is closed". Bling blames quality of video source for pixelization...when in reality the source videos play perfectly at the source. Not a satisfactory outcome dealing with Bling and their products. Don't waste your time and money.

It rips internet videos and DVDs flawlessly. If the DVD is copy protected, there are work arounds in the program to still rip it. I would have given it 5 stars, but I have had a few modern Nickelodeon DVDs that I just cannot break. I end up getting 1/2 the DVD converted to Digital (MP4), but not the whole movie or shows.

This software allows you to convert different audio files to other formats like flac. Nero no longer was able to install on my pc. I've used Nero for a very long time and changed over to this software. It handles all my burning needs and is easy to use. If I could give this a zero I would. I bought this so I could convert my legally purchased DVDs to MP4 and watch them on my iPad. The packaging says any DVD. After I installed the software I tried to convert my first DVD. A dialog box popped up and said it couldn't covert the DVD. I tried others, same result.

Has good features, not what I was looking for. Wanted a program to rip my DVD collection to digital copy for backup. Security Rights do not allow program to perform that task

I'm still learning how to work this software but for the most part its a great item to have.

Easily able to make copies of just about any DVD.. Which is great because my daugter always wants to see certain movies and videos everywhere she goes, so now i dont have to worry about losing or damaging the original. She can haves a copy of each for everywhere she goes .... Only downside is that its a bit tricky and i havent been able to copy a video from facebook like it says. There is a way (supposivly) but im still trying to figue it out.

Used to download LPGA final rounds for later viewing. This works, but takes some time to download the two to four hour videos. Works much better than the freebie I was using before.

Product works good but it will take some time to find the right setting to get it to copy the dvd in less than an hour . But if the dvd is scratched it can glitch and stop copying but says the time is getting longer and download speed drops to basically nothing. Other than that really good converter lots of options for tv and movies

This is a good product to preserve and update favorite movie and music that is played on outdated equipment. It is easy to use and can be used on a digital device so you don't lose access to some of your favorite recorded events. The price was inexpensive and affordable as well.

Its a copy program for dummies; super easy to use and navigate with large icons and feature explanations when you mouse over them. Your computer should to be on point with its hardware; processor, CD/DVD drive, etc. I've read so many complaints from people running low end hardware and blame the program...upgrade your PC! I use it for converting movies for my phone and tablet as well as the MP3 ripper...so much music to listen to!

Works well & as stated. Not as intuitive as it could be though. If your not somewhat familiar with this process & computers a bit it could prove cumbersome. Not to the point of abandoning your intentions for purchasing, but it will take a little longer for some to master. All & all a good product though.

You know I was told when I bought this it would do exactly what I wanted and needed it too and I can't get it to do what I needed to do at all I'm not happy with this product at all and I can't get ahold of the company to get their help because nobody's there nobody Lancer and their clothes 24 hours a day for Life chat so I don't know what to do

I use this program in my business and personal life. Make CD backups of my pictures, music, etc. Make CD's for use in my car stereo for music and such. Had to get up dated version for my new laptop. Have used my old software for 10+ years. great, easy to use.

Does what it is supposed to for the most part, but I do have some issues with certain DVDs where I would be missing half an hour at a time

This program is very user friendly and does exactly what it says it will do. Also, it offers the ability to record into many different formats so that you can watch your movies with all of your devices. Great if you are on the go a lot or just want the flexibility. It was well worth the money I spent. You do have to download an add-on for the program in order to record store-bought videos, but after doing it you can make copies of these videos without any problems.
