    This is a nice size small, good looking camera. Can’t believe it can be use inside or outdoors being so small but it works. It was simple to install it. This is my first Blink camera so I had to download the app, from there it only took a few minutes until I could start using the camera. It comes with the camera, screws to mount the camera, the usb cable and surprisingly the wall block is also included. That hasn’t been the case for many items I’ve purchase lately, they haven’t come with the wall block. The camera is very flexible in that it can rotate it many directions on the stand. The picture is nice and clear. The night vision works even in complete darkness. But I also like the spotlight option. I tried to use this inside one of my windows facing the porch and it was able to pick up movements on the porch. It also has the option of having the spotlight on, having it come on when it senses motion or turn it off. There is also a blue status LED light that originally stayed on, it took me a few minutes to find out that I can set it to turn off, stay on always or for it to turn on when it’s recording. The app comes with most features I would expect. It comes with a free trial subscription for 30 days. I’m still trying to understand the features that we can use with and without the subscription. To my understanding, once the trial is over, if I cancel the subscription I won’t have person detection and I won’t have recording of events. Or the other option is for me to purchase a blink sync module where I can put usb so it can record and I can watch videos recording of events. So it seems that I can only watch videos in realtime if I don’t keep paying for the subscription or purchase the module. For this reason, I will probably look at other cameras where I can watch recording events even if it’s for a short time without paying extra for my next camera purchase. To me, I feel as a busy working person, what are the chances that I will watch the live feed at just the right time. It doesn’t make sense to me that I have to pay for any recorded events. It’s possible that I’m not understand this correctly but I looked at the Blink info over and over. The subscription fee is pretty reasonable though, so I’m not thrilled but not too upset about it. So I won’t renew the subscription after the trial ends right away, I want to see if my understand is correct and then I might consider renewing it because it’s not too much but well see. It works well with my Amazon screen.

    Not a fan of these cameras. The Wyze brand was better, until it kept having connection issues. I wanted something to record continuously.

If Geek Squad says that it is defective then hopefully you are able to exchange it for a different one if you are within the exchange policy with Best Buy.     Blink Mini 2 The new Blink Mini 2 which costs only $40, is an inexpensive wired security camera that can be used indoors or outdoors. Blink’s latest camera model offers many things to make it attractive to buy. It’s really great if you already have an Amazon Alexa smart home c0ollection of devices, especially the Show line-up of devices with a display screen, or are already the owner of some of the previous Blink battery-powered cameras. The camera video is visible on smartphones with the Blink app as well as on Alexa Show smart speaker devices that have the display screens. These types of cameras do provide features such as checking in on baby sitters and pets, monitoring your house both inside and outside when you’re away, or possibly getting video evidence of thieves or prowlers. Some of the features: inexpensive and very small; Indoor/outdoor use; has a spotlight; person detection for a fee; option of local storage with an extra cost module; 1080p HD video; compatible with Alexa, IFTTT; real-time motion alerts on your smartphone; The camera can function as a chime (using its built-in speaker) for Blink doorbell cameras if you have the Mini camera indoors. To use outdoors, plug in Mini 2 outside your home with the Blink Weather Resistant Power Adapter (sold separately) and mount with the included kit In real use the camera gives a very sharp image and video when it is very sunny or when it is in a well lit room (I tried the camera in both environments). In night time use outside ot inside with no lights in the room the built-in LED spotlight does a decent effort of illuminating the scene and renders colors although not as sharp as when fully lit in daylight or with rom lights. The night vision function produces Black and white images and videos using the IR infrared emitters to “illuminate” the scene. In conclusion, the $40 cost of this camera is reasonable for the performance and security it offers. Recommended.

      Check the camera's activity zones to make sure they are set up correctly. If you have activity zones, the camera may only record when motion is detected within those zones. You can verify your network status and strength by going in to the Blink smartphone app and tapping the Settings (3 dots) icon of your camera and go to Device Settings>General Settings. Here, you can see your Network Strength. If it is not full and green, then you may need to move the camera closer to your Wi-Fi router or look into a Blink Sync Module or into ways to strengthen your Wi-Fi at home.
