The videos are not time stamped, it will only record short clips and there is a minimum cool-down of 10 seconds between each recording. It's okay as an entry camera, but because of the recording cool-down, it misses _a lot_ of activity and isn't useful for continuous area monitoring.

Bare minimum w/o subscription but motion detection is good for inside the house. If you get these, I highly recommend the “24/7” recording.

Most smart security cameras from most brands do require a subscription typically in order to utilize cloud storage for the device to record videos for later viewing. We keep the cost of this camera extremely competitive to maintain the value it offers while keeping the subscription optional for people who want to take advantage of this as well as additional premium features that come along with the subscription. Blink does sell a Sync Module that you could use with a USB flash drive (sold separately) in order to be able to store videos locally and not require the subscription for viewing recorded events. They love it. Love that you can also talk through the mic. wish the camera was blue tooth though.
