Simplisafe will continue to record while detecting movement. Blink starts recording when detecting movement, then will record for the number of seconds you configure it (Ex. 10s). Then wait the delay number of seconds before checking for movement. The results are ok for Blink, but you can understand why Simplisafes single video for duration of movement is superior. However, I don't have to pay for Blink video using the local storage, so it does have the edge there.

I have not tried the extended range yet that can be used for two of the cameras. Included instructions only refer to their website to find a useage guide. A QR code sends you right to the website, but not to the exact user manual for the model. You have to figure out what type of components you have and then hopefully find the corresponding instruction pdf.

Not intended to be security cameras
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.When I purchased these cameras I thought for the price it was a good deal. I had read the reviews and I didn't see anyone having the problems I've been having. The cameras were easy to set up and all worked immediately. I installed then in the locations I wanted and was able to view all the cameras with no problems. After 2 days, the closest camera to the Sync Module and the WIFI quit working. The WIFI signa strength is at maximum for all cameras. I discovered I could make it work setting it up with Extended Range (XR). The next day, it quit working again and then all the cameras quit working. I deleted the cameras and re-installed and they all worked with the one XR. All cameras have been working for 3 days now. I get many recordings of no activity. I discovered the video starts recording about 5 seconds after the activity or motion is detected. Some motion is not detected at all. I have had 3 vehicles drive by and only the last vehicle is recorded as it is passing out of view. The delay to start recording a video is the biggest and most negative problem I haven't been able to resolve and there is no setting to make it quicker.

Only problem is you can only view 1 camera at a time and sometimes there is a delay. Still ext range is great, and a good product for price. Subscrition is $10 mo bit includes Amazon replacement and tech support through Blink.
