Customers are pleased with the camera's quality, ease of use, and bright floodlight. Many also found installation straightforward and appreciated the affordability. While some experienced connectivity issues and the absence of local storage without an additional module was noted, the positive feedback on the camera's performance outweighs the negative. The app's user-friendliness could be improved according to some users.

This is a great camera and install was a BREEZE. I'm a contractor so I'm used to installing fixtures but the way they enveloped the screws/hardware, the instruction manual and included a hanging hook to use as a 3rd hand are nice touches. Here's issues number one for me: So all Blink outdoor cameras are battery operated... until they released this one. A HUGE MISS is the lack of a small battery to keep the unit operational in the event of a power outage! It's big enough that they could've put in a battery that stays charged until it loses power. NUMBER 2: no sd card slot for local storage (to be expected from most mainstream companies nowadays.... but I still feel it should be there!) The other negative is the software and the unhappy Alexa integration. For example you go into live view and then ask alexa to turn the light on and it says "sorry the camera is not responding" .... but you can turn it on in the app while live view is running elsewhere and it works fine. This has happened consistently while I try to make changes to the device while live view is on my phone, echo show 8 and on my Fire TV. Also not being able to save videos while "extended live view is enabled" is also not happy making. Why allow it if i can't save it? What if I'm in extended live view and I need the video because something happened? Then what? And when i get a notification on my phone that motion was triggered and I tap it....it goes to live view and doesn't record the event that triggered the motion notification..... pointless if it's an event that you NEED TO SEE! Also, sometimes I get notifications of a motion trigger and the clip doesn't show up in my clips list for a FEW MINUTES! My house could've be robbed and the robbers halfway to the pawn shop by time I even realize what is happening. AGAIN, limited by software. The device itself is fantastic! Camera resolution is awesome, motion sensitivity is spot on and the light is BRIGHT. But it does leave me wishing the software from Blink and the Alexa integration worked better. I have already bought a replacement security light (months ago) for the front of the house that I thought was super bright and this one blows that light away with brightness and throw! If the they get the bugs out of the software I would buy another one of these in a heartbeat for the front of the house... and probably a subscription too! .... but as of right now I'm holding off to see if they are going to fix things that shouldn't be broken on a product new to market. All of these issues should've been identified and resolved before releasing it IMO. ESPECIALLY for a light in this price range and considering other competitive/comparable options out there. On the flip side.... setting it up with my preferred options was super simple and I had zero issues connecting to wifi. It's easy to change settings like the device name, motion sensitivity, clip length, retrigger time and light brightness in the app. Aiming the camera and the lights is smooth and effortless, and they stay where you aim them without any hard to do adjustment locks and what not. They also give you 30 days free online clip storage with the unit so you can see the ACTUAL capability of the unit should you choose to get a subscription. Again... you get to see how it handles before you commit to buy either month to month or for a full year. Blink... fix these bugs so I can buy one for the front yard and start recommending them to my clients for install when they call me for lighting and security upgrades! I really like this light and it looks great on the house! No one has even realized it's a camera without me telling them it's a camera....i love that! People just think it's a motion light and pay no attention to it. That's wonderful to catch a person doing something they shouldn't be! All in all...I love the actual light, the look of it, the design and appearance, ease of install and setup and i would 10,000,000% recommend it, with the caveat of the software issues I've mentioned and the light not wanting to take a voice command from Alexa while it's in live view. If fixed, I will buy at least one more for my place and I'll buy 75-175 of them a year and install them for clients of mine when requested and it will replace what I currently recommend. Even with the software limitations I still like the camera resolution, the WONDERFUL brightness, throw AND THE COLOR TEMPERATURE of the lights... and the added piece of mind. That's why I only took one star for everything. All things considered, this is a great light camera combo unit.

Easy to use, easy to install. It doesn't seem to have a long range of motion detection though. Sometimes I don't get an alert until about 20 seconds after a movement.

Coming from google nest, I’m not terribly impressed with the operating system this device has. The light sensor acts sporadically at night more times than not, and there’s no way to turn the light on and keep it on untimed. The camera function is good, but like I said the operating system is iffy. It only records in bursts and doesn’t retain anything past 30-60 seconds at a time

Competant camera to capture content to the cloud

Among the many motion activated floodlights on the market, Blink stacks up fairly well. It has a decent camera and very good light dispersion from the attached lamp. The motion sensing built into the camera triggers quickly when walking through the appropriate zone. Good picture quality and easy cloud recording round out this competent camera/light. Installation This light installs as a replacement to an existing floodlight if you have one. If not, you’ll need to install an outdoor light mount. Installation was very easy with all the connections needed in the box. The only slight issue I had was that it’s not completely flush with the electrical box. I put some silicon sealant on it and that took care of the issue. Connecting to my home network was equally easy with the connection being made on the first try. I have an existing Blink doorbell and the floodlight fits right in using the same app. Lights The lights are bright if you want them to be. The brightness is controllable through the app. You’ll have the turn the light off and on again to see the impact. However, it will save the brightness setting for future sessions. In my yard, the light is bright enough to navigate the yard up to ~25 feet away. The lights are mounted with horizontal and vertical movement for flexibility on where you want to shine them. Camera The camera easily detected me whenever I was nearby. If it was dark, this turned on the lights in addition to recording a clip with the camera. At night, the lights washed out my face when I got too close to the camera. I have the light mounted above the entrance to my shed. When I got within 5 feet of the shed, my face was washed out so much that even I couldn’t tell it was me! Other than that, the resolution is fairly sharp and able to clearly see people, animals, and other passers by. The image is decently wide angle to see people or animals which are getting nearby. It does not tilt or otherwise follow the action. Recordings are made to the cloud by default. You can also record locally if you have Blink’s synch module. The module has a USB output that you can use to record on a thumb drive or external hard drive. Cloud recording has a monthly fee if you keep it past the trial period. There’s no ongoing cost for the local recording.

When it comes to home security we almost always prefer the best and most effective options. The Blink Security Camera with Floodlight is a very good alternative at an affordable price and has an easy to use app. This floodlight connects wired, in the box are included the necessary accessories for installation. Once installed in the place of convenience is necessary to download the Blink app on your phone, within the app just follow the setup instructions. I think it is important to mention that if you have an active VPN on your phone, it is necessary to deactivate it momentarily to be able to carry out the flood light configuration, otherwise there should be no problem. Within the app you can access the events recorded by the camera, the sound, video, notifications and account settings. It is necessary to create a Blink account and in case of using Alexa, it is possible to connect the apps for further control. The camera has no internal memory so a subscription is required to be able to store clips in the cloud, there is an accessory to be able to install a memory but they are sold separately. Initially a 30-day free trial is activated, after which you will be charged on a month-to-month basis. The image quality is good, remember that the resolution is 1080, what I think can be improved is the night mode, it fulfills its function but it lacks a little sharpness. The sound of the microphone, the speaker and the alarm, seem to me quite good for the kind of product it is. What I find outstanding is the speed with which it detects movement, the notification it sends to the phone is almost instantaneous, when you click on it, the live view opens to know what is happening in real time, at the same time it records the event and stores it to consult it whenever we want. I have used products of the same kind and the truth is that one of the key factors is the motion detection and notification time, this product definitely takes the prize. In addition the product has a very good finish, is aesthetically pleasing and is made of very resistant materials, considering that this device will remain outside for a long time, it is better that it is resistant to weather changes. In summary, I think that the app and the device work very well together, the app has the necessary and a little more to control and configure the floodlight camera to taste. The price seems fair although you have to pay a subscription, however if we consider that it is home security, it is worth it. I believe it’s a very good option, recommended.

I currently have a Blink camera installed in my house and so I have some experience with them. I also have a few ring cameras including the floodlights one as well so I can compare them. Let's start off with the installation of the Blink. I replaced my current non-camera motion sensor floodlight with these blinks so the wiring was already there. This made install a breeze. Open or install the app, choose the type of Blink camera you are trying to set-up and simply follow the instructions on the app. Although I'm pretty familiar with installing cameras, I think the step by step instructions can be really helpful for those not so familiar with the process. Once installed, my phone quickly found the camera and started updating it. Once done, I went into the settings to set up the floodlights the way I wanted it. Things where layed out simply and straightforward. I set the brightness, 1-10, I set mine at 4 and it's bright enough to light up the whole side of my house. Any brighter and I think my neighbors would have been mad. LOL. I set duration when the camera detects motion. The alerts to the phone when the camera detected motion was quick. The clarity was good. Audio was also good. Not that you could have a conversation with anyone but definitely to warn any intruders. All in all, this a very good camera/floodlight, and at this price point is a no brainer.

Full disclaimer: I've never been a big fan of many Ring or Blink hardware. For one reason or another, they have always pushed me away. That said this will be an unbiased review of the Blink Floodlight Camera. I have to give credit where credit is due. Setting up this Blink camera was incredibly simple and quick. With just a few clicks and entering in wifi credentials, this unit connected and was ready to go within minutes. But I have to point out that this process didn't work on an Android device. After scanning the QR code and being promted to pair with the camera, it's own WiFi network, it would always crash with a seemingly generic error message. After 2 attempts at getting it paired on Android I gave the iOS app a shot. Within a minute or two, it was paired and connected to my network. I'm not entirely sure why i couldn't pair with an Android device. Faulty or user error? Install is a simple 3 wire connection, just like any other light fixture you already have at home, live, neutral, and ground. But if you don't have an existing light fixture to replace with this floodlight, install may take you a little while longer. It supports both ceiling and wall mounting. Once mounted I configured motion detection to get a feel for both recording quality and light output. This surpassed my expectations as the light is extremely bright and easily travels about 30ft and a bit further. Recording was a bit different however. In daylight it is clear and accurate with colors. In a dark room of my house with it's IR sensors was also good. But outdoors at night, not so good. It's as of it's own IR sensors were blinding it. Or perhaps the ambient lighting from everything else around it including the moon. Motion recording could also use some work. There would appear to be a second or so delay from when it detects something to when it begins saving the video file. Overall, I love the quality of the camera. From feel to appearance and daytime video quality. But i cannot speak the same about it's nighttime recording, delayed recording or whatever issue prevented me from pairing with an android device. As is, this is worth 3-stars.

Installation was a breeze, even for a tech novice like me. The user-friendly setup made it a stress-free experience. The camera's performance is top-notch, with sharp video quality, night vision, and customizable motion detection. The floodlight is a bonus, providing added security and visibility at night. With its compatibility with smartphone apps, monitoring my property has never been more convenient. I highly recommend the Blink Outdoor for anyone looking to enhance their home security affordably and effortlessly.

I have been fortunate to be able to test out security cameras for a long time. From hard wired to wireless and battery operated systems. This blink unit is a hybrid of the 2 most extreme. It uses hardwired electrical to keep it running a but it uses WiFi on to transmit the data. But if you turn off the power via switch controlled the camera does not work either. So power is needed continuously. So let's get to installation. Installation if you already have an existing exterior light is pretty fast. Should take all but 15 to 20 mins. IF you do not know how to wire or deal with electrical work. HIRE SOMEONE. You will have a high chance of getting hurt or frying something. As for my special condition the people that did my kitchen screwed up and did not wire my switch controlling this existing light so I had to redo the wiring and redo the box. Which took me about 4 hours to do. Anyway after the big wiring job. It took about 15 to 20 mins to wire and set up the camera and be up and running. Also this model has a round base which is different from their other models that have square bases. I like the round base it matches up with round electrical boxes better. Placement is key. My situation is a little unique somi had to make do. Given my situation blink was still easy to install and morph to what I need it to do. Operations is good. Easy using blink Android app. Has the trial storage you have to pay for more storage or you can buy the Blink local storage option. Sensitivity can be easily adjusted. Light brightness is good. Clean white bright light. Cool color. Motion sensor is good. Great to scare away someone up to no good. We have had a rash of people coming to check on car door locks and stealing stuff. So this will help to scare them away. Operating is easy with capture for video and photo and 2 way speaker is easy as well. 1 beef I have with a lot of these security camera systems that only record with motion detection only is that it sometimes does not always get the footage needed. Or the reaction time is not that great either. Blink has done a better job than others that I have tested so far. With that in mind, I would recommend this product for what it advertises.

THIS… Is Blink’s (amazon) update to their outdoor wired spotlight camera. This low cost option is a wired version of Blinks already existing outdoor floodlight with some minor tweaks to the lights and a new color (white!). Is this affordable camera the go to for anyone with a wired spot, or is it an instance of too good to be true for $100 msrp? Lets cut into the Blink Outdoor Wired camera. Camera Quality (Day) - At first glance, this camera isn’t bad at all! It will give you a nice 1080p image in which you can make out cars and faces quite easy. That being said, its ability to zoom in and read license plates is quite limited. I find that this camera is most certainly a budget camera sensor, however, it is not useless. I think that if you had to pull video for whichever reason, you would be able to extract everything but the fine details in the daylight. I think this would make a great indoor camera. Camera Quality (Night) - this is where I was quite let down. The camera IR blurs out license plates in night mode, and when the flood lights turn on there is such a delay between the light turning on and the camera adjusting that there is a gap where you could entirely miss what happened. I could only see about to the end of my driveway which is standard length (~15-20 feet) and not much further at night. I found the camera to be generally useless at night as I couldn’t make out faces unless they were really close. Motion Detection - The motion detection was pretty hit or miss, and I find this to be quite the same across many brands of cameras. The blink camera wasn’t particularly good or bad, but would still be set off by leaf's. I enjoyed the ability to narrow in the activation area of the motion detection, and you can get really really detailed on where you want to be detected and where not which was a great feature I haven’t seen done so well. Two Way audio - This camera is equipped with two way audio like most cameras on the market, and I have to say it is pretty bad. The audio in is good enough to pass, the range in which you can hear is between 5-8 feet from the camera. To be able to hear voice from the camera, you have to be within 3 feet and be listing for it as it is quite quiet. The quality of the sound produced by the camera is actually pretty good, but it is almost mute. Subscription Options - Blink offers two plans - a per camera plan at $3 per camera per month and an overall $10 plan for unlimited options. It is quite cheap, and rivals Nest in price and video history. It will save all videos for 60 days and does what amazon calls “rapid video access” which I found to be less than rapid. It also allows you to have motion detection recording among other features that really should just be included with the camera removed from the subscription. I found nest to offer a more well rounded product in the subscription, however, this is half the cost. Light - This is a real highlight of the product, because even if this is a brick product, these lights are GOOD! They are 2600 lumen, which in laymen's terms is seriously bright. I got spots staring at how good and adjustable these lights are (my optometrist loves me). While you are limited on adjusting the brightness, I found that I was able to move the lights around enough to not blast my neighbors windows when a leaf blew in front of the camera. App - This is by far one of the worst apps I have used, and I am especially disappointed considering it is coming from Amazon. I use Nest cameras for my own house personally, and know what a good and smooth app is. The camera not only takes ages to load in and display, but the app itself is borderline garbage with a cheap interface. I was quite disappointed seeing this, and when I added 3 wireless battery powered cameras it just got worse. Cameras were unable to show live feeds and often times wouldn’t get notifications on things I would care about in my motion detection zones. What I loved - I found that setting this camera up, and the general setup process was quite easy. The lights were also easy to adjust and really lit up the front of my driveway quite well, and when the motion detection worked - it was great! Conclusion - While this camera is less than half the price of the nest floodlight, I just in good faith cannot recommend this camera. From poor night performance, inability to read license plates, a bottom of the barrel app and limited features - I must reaffirm that the price difference is worth it. That being said, BestBuy has excellent customer service and a great return policy, so you never have to worry about buying a product that you don’t like. Just because I did not fancy this product doesn’t mean it cannot meet your needs! With an investment as important as your home and family's safety and security, I find the extra money well spent.

This Blink Wired Floodlight is a great addition to any home security setup. I've tested the light and camera through various times of day/night and weather. I'm located where most would consider "way up north". What this means is, the light and camera have both functioned flawlessly in temperatures as low as -20⁰F. The picture and video quality is good and I am able to make out fine details when observing the camera. The night vision is great and with the addition of the light, it provides very good detail and color, even in the dark of night. The app functions as expected and it has never failed to work when I needed/wanted to pull up the camera and check things out at home. I have also tested the two-way audio feature and that also functions well. The voice quality is good enough that I can clearly understand what the subject on camera is saying and they can hear me clearly as well. The option to arm/disarm the system with the touch of a button is a great feature but I would like to see a geolocation setting that would arm and disarm the system automatically. Overall, absolutely nothing to complain about regarding my experience with this product.

This Blink system to me is of good material quality. I feel like others have some flimsy plastic and won’t last long outside with the Texas weather. So choosing this one for our back yard was a no brainer and we are happy with its performance. We had a friend who is an electrician who was able to turn our breaker off, remove the old spotlight with no camera and install the new Blink system that comes with a nice resolution camera. The entire process took less than an hour and I was up and running and recording and view video and pictures on my cell phone app. The lights are bright but not blinding and I was afraid it would distort the video recording but that all depends on where you point the light so be strategic in that. The white color is bound to get dirty but I found that using a wet wipe made for a quick a dj easy clean up. Overall if you are needing a spotlight with a good camera camera that won’t break the budget this is a good choice and option that you won’t be disappointed with.

I purchased this as a gift for my mother. It is a very good product at an awesome price!! The instructions are easy to follow, and the floodlight is a breeze to install. The longest part of the installation process was connecting to the wifi at her house. It turned out to be a gift for me as well, as now I can connect via the Blink app, and make sure all is well. She has a neighbor that is not the nicest, so the peace of mind this provides her is PRICELESS!! As an added bonus, when the delivery drivers drop a package and don't bother hiding it or ringing the doorbell she knows because Alexa tells her. 100% recommend!!

The serial number printed on the box isn’t correct but Installation was easy. The picture quality is amazing. One thing to note is that the QR or serial number printed on the box doesn’t work. I had to scan the back of the camera after I finished installing. That could be a little bit difficult since the camera doesn’t have much maneuvering space. My advice is to take a picture of the back of the camera before you install it

I absolutely love these Outdoor floodlight cameras. The camera works great. The settings for the floodlight are handy. You can adjust the brightness, duration after a trigger, and many more options. It was easy to install (I was replacing an older floodlight so the electrical box was already there with the wires). The only problem that I have is a hummingbird that is attracted to it. I think it confuses the white floodlights with flowers. On the plus side, I'm getting cool videos of the hummingbird.

I really like the Blink wired floodlight camera for many reasons, I started with the Blink mini to keep an eye on my pet but now the floodlight is to keep my home safe. The installation is very easy and Blink provides step by step video installation and you can always hire an electrician to do it. To install the Blink camera it even comes with an S hook to make it easy and install by one person. The setup of the camera is also easy; the Blink Home Monitor application is very helpful for this as well. Create an account and follow the instructions to add the device and done. The floodlight is bright, at 2600 lumens of LED it is like having 150 watts of light but with much less electricity used. It has two way audio so not only can I hear what is going on by the floodlight and I can also talk to the person by it and it is clear. The Night view in color is just great, the bright light helps everything to be seen clear and I can see what is going on by it. Having the siren is a plus, I hope I do not need to activate the siren but if I ever do it can clearly indicate which house needs the help. The camera has 143 degrees of view so it is plenty of space that it covers and can see what is going on around it. The resolution is great at 1080p HD it is plenty to see clear video from smartphone, computer or even my TV. Subscriptions for Blink are either for an individual device or for the entire home and the subscriptions have benefits like having the videos ready to view up to 60 days. Overall it is a great addition to my cameras around the house, easy installation and setup and I can always keep an eye out on my house.

I would recommend this to a friend
