Clearly the other versions are better but I’m still enjoying the game. I bought it for the Switch solely for the portability and have no regrets. Played it for 2 hours straight on a plain ride back from Vegas! Overall the game is everything I wanted. I just think the question is, do you want to play the superior version or the portable version?

Wanted to collect the physical limited run of this physical release. Game is good as long as you are into the classic 8-bit graphics and music. Love it!

Game is 10/10 for sure, but the Switch version has some issues with frame rate, loading, and even game-saving glitching. This is being patched so my comment will likely soon be out-of-date, but just be very careful. If you have the means to buy on other consoles, I would suggest doing so. Either way, experience this gem of a game!

Pretty good game that really reminds me of the Castlevania titles for the portable Nintendo systems of years past. There were some technical issues that made for longer than average loading of the game and some levels while playing. An update was just released yesterday by the developer, so maybe that fixed some issues.

This game is one of my favorite Nintendo Switch games thus far. It is a true spiritual successor to Castlevania games. The gameplay is very engaging and the level/music are a delight. Many of the complaints about the game were addressed with the first patch. However, I would have wished for it to have better graphics.

Great game and I recommend on other systems first. But the Switch version is competent but needs to be patched. Hold out until the end of September for that patch then you will have a more enjoyable experience. Also I have seen this go on sale recently for$30. That’s a steal and I recommend it at that price or less.

Switch version had some issues at launch, but they've been patched. Not the sharpest graphics, but the game was rushed out before it was finished, so it delivers as best as can be expected because of such. I enjoyed the story, though overall felt incredibly short. Definitely leaves you wanting more. Just wish the publisher was a more reputable company that didn't go out of its way to backtrack on promises and disappoint backers. I feel like the game could have gone much further with another brand behind the wheel.

Most of us remember castlevania symohony of the night. It was truly a masterpiece of its time and an instant classic even right night. Bloodstained Ritual of the Night is a game that come close to that nostalgia feeling from Castlevania and brings you back in time. It is a side scrolling action adventure RPG that clearly mimics the feel and gameplay of castlevania while bringing in mechanics as well. If you wanna take a walk down memory lane then this is the game for you because it also incorporates more of a modern feel for action adventure games.

Definitely reminds me of castlevania 3 for original Nintendo. A great game excellent graphics and great controls definitely pick up this game

Bringing back Castlevania's gameplay back to the modern times. Since Konami decided to kill off its franchises, this game steps up to the plate. Long game with various modes to explore. There's minor technical issues at time with the game but nothing to bad.

Excellent game. I'm a brand-new switch owner, and know nothing about contemporary games. I understand the concept, which is why I chose this specific game. You can tell a lot of love, and attention to details were put into this game. Even though it's kicking my butt learning, I continue to come back and try again. Definitely enjoy learning. Also, Kudos to the classic mode! Another way for me to learn the controllers and get familiar with the game.

If one likes the Metromania games, like I do, then this is the game for you. This game is an homage to those games. The character fights against the paranormal and there is a lot of back-tracking. It plays well. The character is easy to control; the graphics are great and it is a fun game.

Just like castlevania and metroid before it bloodstained hits the nostalgia just right in terms of gameplay mechanics and difficulty.

This is a great game if you love Castlevania games. Doesn’t look as good though as the PS4 version but glad I can take in on the go.

Awesome call back to castlevania symphony of the night. Very fun and portable to boot.

This game does have a few issues at the time of writing this. The developer has stated that they will be addressing these in future patches. I have enjoyed the gameplay and it really does feel similar to Castlevania! At $40 it is fairly priced and worth picking up if you’re a fan of these games.

This is proof that taking your time to finish a game is worth it. One of the best Metroid-vania games to hit the market this year.

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is an exploration-focused, side-scroller action RPG by Koji Igarashi who had work on past Castlevania games. you play as Miriam, an orphan scarred by an alchemist's curse that slowly crystallizes her body. You explore the games world and fighting monsters and demons. If you ever played any of the side scrolling Castlevania or Metorid game you should have familiarity with its gameplay. Playing through you unlock powers and obtain equipment to help you advance the game.

Even thought I heard so many complaints about this port, I pull the trigger because I like this kind of games in portable mode. There are a few glitches, but they actually played in my favor. (Boss got stuck in a wall and was an easy kill). I like this game despise some flaws in this port.

5 stars for the steelbook that came with the game, only 3.5 stars for the game itself. As has been documented, it does not play nearly as well on the Switch as other consoles. If you're going to pick up this game, get it on PS4 or Xbox One instead!
