If you're looking for a more true to form modern Castlevania game, then oh boy does this scratch that itch. Nothing world changing, but this game does what it means to do. I've been meaning to play this, and for the cheaper sale price, this is a must have.

I have never played symphony of the night and knowing that this game has been made by the same guy and is said to be very similar to SoN, i decided to play it and i really really liked the game. However, in my opinion it did not reach the high standards set by hollow knight, another absolutely gorgeous game. I am not saying ritual of the night is bad. Its a great game, but after playing hollow knight, it seems something was missing... i guess a lot was missing. One has to play hollow knight to know what i mean.

I bought this for a friend. Since the game play is based on Castlevania Symphony of the Night and I’ve read good reviews on this game, I decided to buy this for a friend who is almost a hardcore fan of the Castelvania game. He likes it.

This might be the best kickstarter project ever, from the start it is hard to just put down till your first walkthrough and even after that you still have so much to do afterwards i reccomend this version and the switch version and can not await for the further paid and free updates.

If you were a fan of the good old classic Castlevania games, then this game is right up your alley plus it was made by the original mastermind behind the Castlevania games. I have nothing bad to say, I'm just amazed at how good this turned out.

Unlike the Creator of mega Man, this dude knows what's up. Igarashi-san updated this game after some initial complaints on kick starter. The artwork and gameplay are really good! Nice to know he still has it. Hope to see more in the future.

What can I say? This game has all the nostalgic feelings you were expecting. Seriously fun game with enhanced customization to SOTN. Music is great too but still overall it’s not as polished as I was expecting. The graphics still cause slowdown and screen bleeds from enemy deaths. Still a very enjoyable game that will have you reminiscing about your ps1 days playing as Alucard as you traverse Dracula’s castle.

Amazing game! If you loved SOTN in the 90s then you’ll love this game. It’s just as addicting and you’ll find some throwbacks/ secrets that revisit the old game. Graphics are clean and gameplay proves that people still enjoy this type of game.

This game has been amazing! I’m a massive Castlevania fan so I had to get this and have not regretted it at all. If the game had Castlevania in the title it would be one of the best games of the series. Yes, it’s that good.

This game is a masterpiece, remastered beautifully. The Playstation 4 version is better than the Switch. The Switch version have lagging issues, but has a patch fix for download. I recommend this awesome for the PS4.

Absolutely loving this game! There's a lot to offer inside this metroidvania style game from the man behind Symphony Of the Night. Your weapon choices effect your attack styles and speed, your looks change with your gear selections, you can customize your total appearance at an in game 'Barber', and etc, all whilst playing a genre that many have grown to love and miss in today's gaming age. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a great game that challenges you but is still good for any. Fair warning , the mini bosses don't have a health bar, at least not that I've noticed, so you just have to keep learning how they move to avoid death at their hands and keep striking until they fall!

A Worthy Successor to a Classic Series

Once it become rather apparent that Konami was no longer going to produce new console games in the Castlevania series some of the employees decided to leave the company and strike off on their own to produce a game in the modern Castlevania mold. The resulting game, Bloodstained, is pretty much exactly that. It may in 3D, but most importantly it plays and *feels* like the exploratory platformers that Castlevania was known best for during the Gameboy Advance and Nintendo DS eras. While there are certainly no shortage of games in this style from other developers, mostly indy, none come as close to recapturing the feel of those classic Castlevania games as this one.
