I really liked this at first, but now it is doing something weird where it doesn't delete read messages. So now it shows 99 unread messages. If anyone can tell me why this is happening and fixes it I will give them 20 bucks. Thanks

The phone after 4 weeks, goes to restart mode and hangs. I have to reset to start over. Otherwise, it is a good phone for the sale price.

I've been using this phone for about a month and already the screen is slow to respond and sometimes the screen doesn't respond to touch at all. It locks up frequently and I get error messages a lot. Don't waste your money, you get what you pay for. This isn't worth the money!

A Very Good BUDGET Phone!

Definitely very good entry level/budget smartphone. If you are looking for something more powerful or better screen resolution, then you can skip this one. But for those who is looking for a budget smartphone that will do basic tasks well (email, text, call, web-surfing, video chat, and some games), this phone is something you should consider. And if you are somehow able to get this phone for less than $100.00, it is an excellent value.
PROS:
1. DECENT BUILD. No, this is not a premium or flagship phone. It doesn't pretend to be. In this price range, the phone is good enough. No loose parts. Aluminum rim is a good choice with polycarbonate back that has faux leather texture provides solid feel to the phone. Corning Gorilla Glass 3 is now a norm even for the budget phones. Despite the price, the phone is nicely built.
2. FINGER PRINT SENSOR. Surprisingly, the finger print sensor works great and fast. It reads your finger print more accurately compare to some of the mid-range phones. While it is not the fastest, it is fast enough.
3. BATTERY LIFE. This is the highlight of the phone, 3700 mAh provides ample supply of power for your use throughout the day. I am not a heavy user, but I am not a light user either. I don't play games however, and it lasted me 2 full days with one charge. So even if you are a heavy user, you don't have to recharge your phone until you go to bed. I never worry about the battery life when I am out.
4. MICRO SD CARD SLOT. Since it only comes with 16GB internal storage (11GB available), some may feel this is too small. But having SD card slot available is a great option to increase your storage as Internal storage or portable media storage. However, I strongly recommend that you purchase UHS speed Class 3 (U3) micro sd card. This will ensure fast read and write of your storage.
5. THIN & LIGHT. The phone while has 5.5" screen is nevertheless light and thin. Therefore it is really easy to hold on your hand. Very comfortable.
6. PERFORMANCE. It comes with 2GB RAM with MediaTek 6737 chip. MT6737 is slight upgrade from MT6735 (BLU R1 HD), and it is generally snappy when apps opened. Multitasking was easy and did not experience any noticeable lags. I compared it with Moto G4 Play (Snapdragon 410), and overall it is slightly faster than G4 Play.
7. SPEAKER. The speaker is louder and clearer than BLU R1 HD. Also located on the bottom of the phone instead on the back as R1 HD.
CONS:
1. SCREEN RESOLUTION. Although it is 720 x 1280, because it is 5.5" screen, it only shows ~ 267 ppi. But Moto G4 Play also comes with 720 x 1280 pixels, but it has 5" screen and therefore it has ~ 294 ppi. What it means is that same resolution for both, but because G4 has a smaller screen, it is sharper and clear in presentation of the pages. On Life Max, you will definitely notice pixelation. But again, if the screen is important to you, then you have to skip this one, and perhaps consider Moto G4 Play as a budget phone.
2. EARPHONES. BLU comes with usual accessories: Slim PTU case, screen protector, and earphones. But the earphone is unusable. You will hear dull sound and distortion. BTW a plastic screen protection is already installed, so make sure only peel off blue description sticker.
3. CAMERA. The quality is decent but not great. But of course, if you are considering this phone, it is not because of the camera.
Overall, this is a great budget phone. I enjoy using it. But if the screen is important to you even for the budget phone, then you want to consider another budget phone Moto G4 Play, it has better pixel density than Life Max. Life Max is efficient and capable smartphone for most of the people who do not need premium or flagship phones. Highly Recommended.

Bluetooth function intermittent and inconsistent. The phone came with screen protector which leads me to believe Best Buy shipped to me a customer returned unit. The battery only lasts a little more than 1 day.

There is some problem with this phone's AT&T 3G signal reception. Neither Best Buy nor BLU helps. BLU refers me to a third-party supplier but the supplier can only exchange for the same exact model even the problem persists.

after 1 year, it had dead pixels that kept getting worse by the day. It was good til then, but reliability is not there for BLU.

You need to accept this phone for what it is. It's a pretty solid phone for a reasonable price. I got in on the special pricing they had and for what I paid its an awesome bargain. The phone has a massive battery (not sure what the real world usage will give, just received yesterday). The phone even comes with headphones. What? That is unheard of in this day and age. It also comes with a case, not the best quality though and a screen protector. Near stock Android M, dual sim, and an SD slot make this a pretty good deal on pretty solid phone. Yes, it does cut corners on a lot of things but it has to be done to keep the price at what it is.
