    Purification + Humidification = a Winning Combo

For those looking for a single appliance to tackle both air purification and humidification, the Blueair 2-in-1 Purify + Humidify is a great option. This unit effectively combines the utility of two essential devices into one user-friendly and high-performing package. Living in the upper midwest, I live in a house that requires consistent added humidification at least half of the year during winter months where relative humidity indoors can fall to 20% or less at times. Also as a hobbyist guitar player, adding humidity to my environment to get it closer to the 40-50% RH zone is critical to the long term health of my instruments. In this context, the Purify + Humidify has been a highly effective and impactful unit. Using the app (which I'll touch on more in a minute), I was able to configure the Blueair to hold my lower level at a consistent 45% humidity. This has completely taken the guess work out of humidifying the space. While this setup requires that I refill unit on a daily basis (if not more at times), this is made painlessly simple via the unit's refilling system. In a bit of an unusual feeling process, you're able to pour water directly onto the unit's top screen, which then drips down into the water reservoir at the bottom. This felt like it was a bad idea at first, but over time, I've grown to appreciate just how easy this makes it to keep the water tank topped off. In summation, for the humidify side of this product, it's hugely effective and does the job every bit as well as one would expect. On the purify side of the equation, I've found it to be equally effective. Its ability to get rid of odors of my lower level (where my office is), which can verge on musty at times, has been nothing short of impressive, giving me a sense of highly increased air quality where I spend a lot of my time every day. The Purify + Humidify's air quality improvements have been confirmed via an external air quality monitor showing a marked reduction in particulate matter. All that is to say, thankfully, the Purify side of the product seems every bit as effective as the Humidify side. For me, a huge positive component of this unit is accompanying app. While it aids with the usual setup processes to get you up and running, it also adds a host of other features that makes using this unit a nice experience. The usual things are here, like stats on your room's basic air quality and humidity levels making it easy to remotely monitor things, along with filter life indicators to make sure you stay on top of changing those out. What's been the best feature for me, however, is the scheduling function. The app gives you the ability to set up a daily schedule for turning on the purify and humidify functions separately. In my case, I've set the unit to turn on early in the morning, meaning I'm able to start my day with freshness in the air. This is a phenomenal feature and really ups the overall game of this unit. While using the Purify + Humidify has been an overwhelmingly positive experience, there are a couple minor areas that could be improved. The air quality monitoring could be improved with the unit and the app; it currently seems to only display PM2.5 data, which feels a bit behind the curve compared to other connected purifiers. And as expected, filter costs over time will start to add up, as they always do with these types of units, but especially so here given the multiple HEPA filters in addition to the water filter. If you're looking for a device that will give you both humidification and purification in one, this is the unit to look at. It excels in performance, user experience, and smart features, making it a breeze to use and a joy to have around. This feels like a great investment for cleaner, more comfortable air at home.

    Better Than I Expected

After reading reviews prior to receiving this unit, I was very much looking forward to trying out all the different features and options. Did the blue air purifier offered. Once I received the unit I was very surprised how much bigger it was than I expected. Setup was very easy and was done in a matter of minutes. One thing, just to make sure you do not forget. Will you take the back panel off for initial setup? Definitely, make sure that you take the plastic off.The filters on the inside or clearly the unit will not work. As much as I have enjoyed using this so far, it does take multiple filters, which they say can last in upwards of 9 months. And then you will have to buy replacement filters which will run anywhere between 45 to $50. I guess this isn't terrible if you only really have to do it once a year. After setting up the device and connecting it with the app, I found the unit to be very well built and sturdy. It has many features that are beneficial to the overall use of the unit. One of the very cool things is that the top of the unit is waterproof what the display panel is, and when the app or the unit advises that more water is needed without having to take it apart, you can simply pour water into the top where the display is and it funnels down through the unit to refill the humidifier tank. It has an auto run function, a nighttime function. Timer function, it monitors the app and we'll tell you the life expectancy that's remaining in the filters. You can control the display and how bright you want it to be or how dim. I personally like the Night mode best. This is useful up to about 300 square feet. After that, it may be too small to handle a large room. I initially used it in my living room and while it worked. The room was just simply too big.I've since moved it up to my bedroom and has worked flawlessly. When running in auto mode and the settings are correct, this unit is virtually whisper quiet. I would recommend this product even though you have to buy. Multiple filters would be much easier if there was just one or maybe 2, but buying multiple filters 41 device maybe slightly problematic for some, but given the performance so far again, once a year is not a bad trade off. Highly recommend.

This probably should be how purifiers should be made-- one with a humidifier. At least in Southern California where it is so dry, plain purifiers don't do much. In my household, we don't get too much dirty air, except for cooking pollution, yearly forest fires, and occasional fireworks. So purifiers are good but not maximized. With a humidifier though, it changes the ball game, especially for our toddler who has active eczema. I've trusted Blueair for a couple of years-- it gives me insight, through the app, of AQIs and really helps me know the kids are breathing good air (it doesn't help that my dad had COPD -- so I value clean air differently). I like the idea that I can place water in its tank and forget about it for days. I like how it tells me the humidity levels and keeps the baby's room informed if we need to fire up the humidity especially that my central hvac system dries up our house air (and we all end up with horrible throats in sinuses in the morning). This device helps keep our air humid in the most subtle way-- you know, just quietly sitting in one corner. It is easy to set up, and keep running. And it's great that it integrates with Google Home. So turning it on, adjusting fan speed or humidification is only a voice command away. There are some quirks, like managing the water levels which are hard to see in the front window or kind of glitchy in the app. I have not had the chance to clean it because it is relatively new, but looking at the instructions, and how the pieces can easily be removed and put back together, looks like it is a breeze to maintain. This is the right way to purify the air-- with matching humidifier. As usual, Blueair looks good, it is easy to operate and works well without needing much attention. If your'e getting a purifier, might as well get a humidifying one.

Last winter, the ear, nose & throat (ENT) doctor recommended that I get a humidifier in our bedroom while we sleep. In the winter, with the heater on, the extremely dry air causes allergy problems and nose bleeds. Everyone I found we’re likely for infants & children and/or very loud After stopping by a local Best Buy, I came across this one. Not only does it add humidity, but also cleans the air. Also, it monitors the humidity level and adjusts up and down according to my preference So bringing it home, the box is what you expect. Easily fits in the backseat of any car laying down Unboxing was simple with mostly cardboard and some fiber tape to hold the door in place Set up was super simple Unpack Remove covers and tape from all of the filters - there is a bunch Add water to the reservoir and turn on There is a QR code to download the app, and I highly recommend. This was the only way to fine tune simply and receive messages when it needs more water Operation is super quiet on the lowest setting. My unit is set-up as automatic, so we have been mostly on the 2 lowest setting. In our bedroom, you would have to concentrate to hear it. I did turn it on full blast just to hear it, and it sounds like a small fan The room has been perfectly balanced with humidity and I assume that the air is cleaner My only gripes - the water reservoir will empty quick in a dry environment. Maybe a day and a half to 2. And the instructions are relatively poor on how to control and monitor air quality

It was easy to install as there were only a few pieces that needed attention. You had to take the filters out and remove the plastics. It's not too big. We already have another air purifier and this is about half the size. There are straps on the product so you can move it around pretty easily and it is light. Set up on my phone was easy as well. There was a QR code on the box that I scanned to download the app. The app has graphs that let me know the levels of both areas, and it doesn't take long to get that air to where I want it to be. I like that the app reminds me that it is running out of water. There's also the feature where I can schedule when it turns on. This is great to use in the bedroom (the majority of the time it's in the living room) when we are sleeping and I don't have to worry about turning it off. The touch screen on the purifier is easy to use and not too sensitive to accidental touch. It seemed to have helped with my allergies as well as the dry air. I have noticed an improvement in the air quality and humidity. It also seems that the device is low maintenance, but it has not been that long for me to have to clean it. It is also very quiet. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to improve their home’s air quality and comfort.

The Blueair - 2-in-1 Purify + Humidify Air Purifier with HEPASilent and InvisibleMist Technology is an interesting product. When I first got it, I thought it was too big & somewhat cumbersome. I got it set up and working rather quickly. It has nice handles so moving it in a room is easy. I live in the dry southwest in the Winter & typically my nose & sinuses have difficulty adjusting to the lack of humidity and the blowing dirt and pollution since we live in a large metro area. This unit is a game changer. I am very sensitive to noise but this unit is whisper quiet and at night, I can’t hear it running. It is Mist-free which is also a huge plus. The first time I added water, I was worried that I was doing it wrong but it just pour it in on top or you can pull everything out and add water in the tank. I eventually downloaded the app since I get a little annoyed that every gizmo in the house needs to be connected to WiFi but this app is actually useful. The app show outdoor air quality and can also notify you when it’s time to clean and change the filter. The app can also connect to Alexa or Google Home Assistant. I am a little worried about the cleaning requirements and the cost to replace the filter. Overall, I am very pleased with this unit.

This Blueair product really threw me for a loop, which is a great thing! I mean I have bought many air purifiers and humidifiers in the past and all have done it's job but never have I had one that did both. Now add in wifi functionality, the ability to operate it via app and also adding to my google home was more than I ever expected. First off the unboxing is very minimal for a device this large and you really have to know the device before using it. Why? Because you have to be aware that the filters that come with it, which are three in total. You have to remove the plastic off of each of them. I initially thought it was just one not three filters. These filters look very robust and look like they are able to be just brushed clean to keep using for a good while. It is very robust. When unwrapping everything and situating where I wanted to put this thing that looks very much like a diaper geanie was a bit challenging. You don't want to put it where it will be in the way, but you want the air filter and humidifier to work when needed. When you figure that out, you do the initial wifi setup of the device which was very quick with the app. The screen while not touch screen has captive buttons on the lip of the purifier. And everything works great. After the initial set up, the operation is just super quiet! So quiet I thought it was not on or broken. And besides that, there is a nightime mode which is great! I mean the auto feature is great when you just set it and forget it. And when you add water it's just works great for us. You can pour water into it in two ways. The one way is the normal pull out the back and drawer bucket to refill, but the recommended way is to just pour it on the screen itself! Well make sure the device is off to be safe and then pour the water from the top. Which is wild! Ok I am beyond impressed. I added my device to my Google Home easily as well. Yes the Google Home is limited to just certain modes. Meaning just on and off. To really utilize it, the app is where it is at. The app is really super functional. You can even get air quality readings on the app when allowing locations to the app on the device. Did I mention how quiet this thing is? The app also can tell you the life left of your filters as well as a NFC tag on the unit itself to order new filters for your unit. The tag is under the back door when accessing the filters, but it's there and super useful. No fumbling on finding the make and model. Just tap and order. Easy peasy! In using air purifiers and humidifiers thorughout my life, it was suprising on how important the advancements made in technolgy when it comes to these. I am used to buying these in my local drug stores or convenient stores for a quick usage, but knowing this type of technology is out there is a huge positive in my opinion. Would I recommend this? For the price, it is justified only if you use all the features. I for one will be so it warrented the cost vs features.

Hello friends and welcome to my review of the new Bluair 2 in 1 purify and humidify air purifier. That's a long name so I will call it the bluair from here on. First off it arrived promptly from BB, and upon opening I was happy to see that I did not need to do much to get it going. Removing packing materials helps you get used to the operation of this unit. I could tell right away that the Bluair was a powerful air filter. There are three filters located on the sides and the door. I like this feature, I think it's filters will last longer this way. And it adds a large surface area to clean the air. The Bluair claims to filter 301 sq ft of room space, and I believe with three filters it should easily do that. Next we have to talk about the humidifier, It is unusual. The unit itself is inside the outer case and is a beautiful design. Too bad we can't look at this part all the time. There are two ways to fill the humidifier tank, first is to remove the inner unit and fill with water. The second way is far more fun, You just pour the water into the top of the unit where the display is. This seems wrong, because normally you don't want water on a display. Also if you pour water thru the top, it makes a crazy noise as the water filters down thru the machine. This is normal just sounds funny, and I like it. Finally we come to the app that can control the Bluair. The app is straight forward and easy to use. It adds a lot features at your fingertips, such as ability to control the brightness of the display screen, humidity levels, etc.. I like the app for this unit a lot, it's more convenient than walking over to it. Also with the controls and features this unit provides, I have no problems sleeping with it running. I can dim the lights and lower the fan speed and not be disturbed while snoozing. Over-all I find this unit to be a great air purifier and it helps a lot with my dry air issues. I would recommend to my friends and family!

I’ve decided that adding water to anything other than mother nature just messes everything up. The rest of my Bluair filters sit quietly in the corners of each room in my house slowly sucking up tiny amounts of power from the grid as they silently purify the air in my home, protecting the rest of the house from my burnt garlic toast, crispy bacon, and Thai noodles. Diminutive in size compared to this 26” beast, the other devices require a single filter change that is automatically delivered via Blueair subscription and give me the peace of mind that whenever the dog passes gas it will only be a moment before we can all breath peacefully again. I’ve grown accustomed to having these diminutive products in my home that only occasionally make enough noise to remind me that they exist at all. All this changed with the 2-in-1 purify + humidify. Not only is this the single largest piece of non-furniture in the room making it stick out in the corner like a sore thumb, but the additional of water into the equation packs a much larger level of responsibility when having this thing around. This thing is so much of a beast that comes with handles built into the sides in case you need to move it. Blueair decided one filter wasn’t enough and packed this baby with three filters for air quality and a wick filter for the water tank. All four of these filters will need to be replaced approximately every six months. There is a water pump pre-filter to maintain and replace at an unspecified recommended interval. In additional to filter replacement the introduction of water means you have to clean the tank weekly and spend the recommended one hour a week soaking the wick filter in a mild or acid cleaning solution. This is the first Blueair product that adds another house cleaning chore to an already annoying weekly routine. At least the thing is easy to disassemble. As to product functionality, one the hardest things to handle is that to fill the tank you actually pour water onto the electronic display… while it is running. Imagine opening up your laptop, powering it on, and then pouring a picture of water directly onto the keyboard. It just feels wrong! On the other than the sound it makes as it drains through the unit into the tank is divine. My main problem with filling the tank is that the instruction manual fails to include how much water the tank holds and when filling from the top its practically impossible to properly see the water level using the opening at the bottom of the unit that it turns filling this thing up into a dangerous game of “let’s see if we can flood the house by overfilling this thing.” If BlueAir can add a multi-colored AQI Indicator to the top of the unit why can’t they add a more functional water sensor for filling up the unit? Consequently if you own a Samsung Refrigerator with the water picture, the BlueAir takes 2 1/3 refills of the picture before it gets topped off. I appreciate that each new device from Blueair continues to improve it’s Wifi/Bluetooth pairing capability compared to the previous generation of devices. The process is faster and more reliable. You need the SmartPhone app for monitoring the humidity levels . The app offers a clean, simple interface and design that is great at making all the basics be functional without feeling like you are programming a computer. Parents will appreciate the display lock feature which will prevent toddlers from pressing every button on the face of the unit. There is a feature called “My Schedules” in the app that allows the device to understand when a person is home based on time of day so that the unit won’t be treating the air when no one is around. Overall this unit works great in it’s mostly silent operations and I have already noticed I’m sniffling a bit less than before with the room now being properly humidified.

We live in a 1968 house, which is very dusty and drafty. We have used air cleaners since we moved here, and it’s been a boon. The air cleaners I am using work very well, but I killed the one in the basement with a static electricity zap from my finger. In the basement, I am replacing the giant air cleaner and giant humidifier with this one unit. I did not have high hopes that this humidifier would be able to handle the large room it is in. It is able to hold 45% humidity in the room. The water capacity of the humidifier is not large enough for extremely drafty rooms (like mine), when it’s really dry, I have to fill it 3 times a day. Filling the humidifier is extremely easy, just dump water on the screen on top. There is quite a bunch of noise when filling the humidifier, I think it’s the water pump, not a big deal. The humidifier unit responds much too quickly to small changes in humidity, ramping up the fan then shutting it off for a very long time when set to “Auto”. There is no way to adjust the hysteresis for the humidifier as of now, so I have just set the fan to 1 or 2 and it is much less noticeable. I imagine this is as simple as a software update that I’m sure Blue is just about to release. I really enjoy the online features, being able to see the filter status of the humidifier and air cleaner, being able to change settings while I’m being lazy on the couch is great. The humidifier will pop an alert on my phone or watch when it needs refilled. When refilling the humidifier, it seems easy to overfill since you can’t really see the water level, but they put a great little light on the display that flashes a water drop with an X on it when the water level reaches 95%. I haven’t overfilled it yet, crossing my fingers. Overall, this is a great unit, easily handling the duties of the 2 separate devices I was running before. Judging by the other Blue air cleaner I have and the one my son has had even longer, I think these should be reliable for years to come.
