I was concerned when I bought this model not having any experience with this brand. Well it turned out to be the best air purifier I have owned. Love the automatic settings and the large area of air intake. I would definitely recommend this to anyone.

Breathing easier thanks to Blue Air

Can you really smell cleaner air? Yes, you can and Blue Air will help you do just that. No matter how clean you think the air in your home is, Blue Air is likely going to improve the overall air quality. I’m pretty amazed that within a few hours of powering on, the air in my home actually felt and smelled cleaner. It’s really hard to describe what I mean by that last statement. Look, my home is extremely clean, tidy, and odor free. So it’s not like my home was smelly and this removed the odors. It’s just that the air I’m breathing in feels so much cleaner, more fresh and pure. Setup is very easy. From unboxing to powering on took less than five minutes. It’s almost ready to use right out of the box. I placed the outer decorative pre-filter on the unit, removed a couple of tape pieces and stickers, made sure the main filter was in place properly (it came installed), and that’s it. Within a few hours - magically purified air. This is a rather large purifier, but it somehow just seems to blend in to the environment. Unobtrusive, present but not screaming “here I am”. The build quality is solid, and with the addition of the colored exterior pre-filters it’s also aesthetically pleasing. Speaking of the exterior filter, this is easily applied and is also easy to remove for cleaning, which can be done in the washer. Also of note, the exterior filter is not required for use. I’ve found though that it does tend to catch more of the larger dust particles and I would assume (yeah I know) adds life to the primary interior filter. There is a built in air quality sensor which monitors the quality of the air within your space and can auto adjust the purifier. Multiple speeds allow users to increase the air intake speed, which decreases the time it takes to completely purify the air in whatever space you are using. This could be helpful in a case such as maybe you burn some food and your house smells like, well - burned food. Yeah, maybe I’ve done that. Just increase the air intake fan and soon the smells are gone and the air is clean. Even at top speed, this Blue Air is quiet. I’ve had ceiling fans make more noise than this. At lower speeds you’ll wonder if it’s even on. It definitely doesn’t make itself known by being loud. There is a single light indicator which will tell you when the primary filter needs to be changed. While I have not had this unit long enough to require a filter change, I have no doubts it is incredibly easy. Remove the top of the unit by pressing two tabs and you’ll see the inner primary filter. It literally folds in on itself for removal. No screws or working through multiple steps. I’m so happy with this Blue Air. This has been such a welcome addition to my home. I would highly recommend this to anyone.

Amazing air purifier, purchased prior to party with lots of smokers trying to beat the cold. It didn’t skip a beat! With the auto function, it adjusted accordingly and by the end of the night everything was back to normal with clean, smoke-free, and odor-free air. Highly recommend!

This air purifier is a little spendy, but it’s an investment in your health. Since COVID started, I know that I’ve spent considerably more time indoors. I also live in an apartment complex that allows pets. There’s lots of dust and weird smells that make their way around the building. That’s where this air purifier shines. My hallway can smell like food, dog, garbage, you name it. The moment I open my door after a long day and step into my unit that smells like nothing is incredible. Blue Air has a really good reputation and their products are easy to use. For this particular unit, I took it out of the box, put the prefilter on, removed a single sticker, plugged it in, and one tap later I was in business. With five pre-filter colors, you should be able to get the purifier to match any room’s aesthetic. I like the particle sensor that gives you a good estimate of how the air in your home is doing. When running on low, this thing is nearly silent. The only thing I don’t really love about this is the filter cost - $70 every 6 months or $140 a year. That being said, given how well this purifier works, I think the upkeep cost is well worth it.

    Silent But Healthy

My family has allergies and as such we try to keep the house open and aired out as much as possible with the exception of cold weather and high pollen count. We live in the Pacific Northwest so the cold/rain is frequent, mostly we just suffer and pop Vitamin C and allergy meds like candy. When I got the chance to test the Blue Air Blue Pure 211+ air purifier I thought it would be a wonderful experiment not just for Blue Air but for all of us here to try filtering the air. I selected the 211+ since it has a huge area it can purify, 540 square feet according to the description and since if we close all the doors off the hallway our living space is somewhere in the 450-475 square foot range. Unpacking the unit it's all in one piece with a fabric “pre-filter) to fit over and velcro snug to it. There are some brochures and an instruction manual but that’s about it! You can remove the top fan piece to access the filter in the bottom which shouldn’t need to be changed for six months, depending on the air quality it’s filtering. Setup was easy and it's a one button activation to change from low, medium, to high, then off again and it only requires a 4 inch gap from objects on any side so you can set it pretty much anywhere to start working. We started on the high setting to jump start our clean air adventure and I had to check the instructions to make sure I didn’t miss something, the highest setting is quieter than my fan on low. I gave the unit about 15 minutes to work its magic on high before taking it down to low and it was only the air coming out the top which alerted me to it being on, the unit runs silent on low! Per the manal it says the lights dim too so that if you have it in your room overnight the LED won’t disturb you (I sleep too well for a little LED to bug me even on full brightness so I can’t speak to this very well). As long as you don’t manually turn the Blue 211+ off it will cycle on and off 24/7 in short bursts of 10-15 minutes. That LED I mentioned turns yellow to indicate the air quality is not good and turns blue when it is clean, after five months it says it will turn yellow to remind you to order a new filter too and then turn red when the filter needs to be replaced. Unfortunately it's been cold and not peak allergen season so I couldn’t put this baby to the full test but I can say that we over cooked some bacon last weekend and the house was pretty smokey. This has happened before and we open the windows and door and after a while the smoke finally dissipates and goes away, maybe 30 minutes? This time while I did open the kitchen window and sliding door I also moved the Blue 211+ into the center of the living room near the kitchen and turned on high, the smoke was gone within10 minutes! I highly recommend this product for anyone with concerns about air quality (looking at you big city folk, I grew up in California with all the smog “stay inside” advisories). The unit is simple and silent, seems like it won’t need a lot of babysitting as far as filter changes go or basic upkeep beyond occasionally vacuuming the cloth skirt “pre-filter”. As investments go this would be a good one I think for people with bad allergies especially.

Effectively brings fresh air to large rooms

    >> Overview The Blueair Blue Pure 211+ Auto (note the “Auto”, don’t be confused to the older Blue Pure 211+ version), is an outstanding air filter, suitable for large rooms, or as it is in our case, for a couple of connected rooms (no doors). We are able to breath fresher and cleaner air every day. After cooking, vacuuming, or while having people around, it doesn’t take long for the Blue Pure 211+ Auto to do its job and provide fresh and clean air. - Pros: Provides fresh air, Auto mode very quiet and effective, particle air sensor and light indicator, easy to operate. - Cons: a little bulky, takes somewhat too much space, no timer. >> Package and Setup I was surprised to see how well protected the contents in the package were, with foam covering the whole device. Contents in the package are: the Blue Pure 211+ Auto itself, one pre-filter fabric and short manual. Nothing out of the ordinary to setup and have it running. The only nuance was installing the pre-filter fabric, to cover the lower part of the device. The pre-filter is elastic so it is just a matter to stretch it and slide it to the proper location. >> Placement We struggled a little to get the right place for the Blue Pure 211+ Auto. It is a little bulky and my wife didn’t really like that it was “that” visible at first. I prefer functionality to esthetics, but I had to agree on this one with my wife, so we had to find a place where it wouldn’t get in the way but where it could still be somewhat centrally located. Ideally its best place seems against the wall and perhaps near to a corner (I don’t think you’d want it to be in the middle of the room, though), but you’ll need to be careful not obstructing the air quality sensor that is in the back. We finally decided to place it near the entrance to the Kitchen from the main living room, next to one standing desk we setup for work during this pandemic. The air filter is still visible with some visitors thinking it is some sort of subwoofer, but it doesn’t obstruct much, and as far as we can tell, it seems to cover the whole bottom floor of the house. >> Air quality The Blue Pure 211+ Auto is said to be for a large room, but we had it setup so that it covers the whole bottom floor consisting of two living room areas connected to a central kitchen (no doors), without counting the guest bathroom (has its own fan system) and the garage, for around 600ft square coverage. We agree in the family that it is keeping the whole bottom floor of the house fresh, easily getting rid of the smells from/in the kitchen. We have found that leaving the device in Auto mode seems the most convenient and worry-free mode, when it detects air quality deteriorating, it will speed up and get cleaner air sooner, then going back to silently filtering air without much effort. It has three speeds that you can choose for faster air filtering. It doesn’t come with a timer though, so you’d have to be mindful to turn it off or lower the speed (in our case we just leave it at auto for the whole day). >> Smell We have another air filter in the upper rooms (a different brand), and that one smells like some synthetic material, but as far as we could tell the Blue Pure 211+ Auto doesn’t (I think people will have different opinions in this regard). >> Pre-filter It comes with a cloth, advertised as a pre-filter, to cover the lower half of the device. Having this is a must, otherwise the device looks awful, the white color and the “naked” bottom part is a real eye sore. The fabric feels a little cheap and when moving the device it feels like it is coming apart, but after its final placement, the device looks somewhat cool. >> Portability Given that it is corded and a little bulky, I don’t think the intention was to make this device portable. Moving the device around feels like its parts would come apart, especially the pre-filter (cloth) feels like it will come off the device. My opinion is that if you are looking for something easy to move around, get something half its size and wireless if available. However, if you are able to find a strategic place to cover large areas, then you don’t really need to move this device around anyways.

Blue Air Blue Pure 211+ is a large floor standing air purifier. Given it's size, I have no doubt that it can filter air in a 550 square foot room quickly. Fan noise at low setting is low. I didn't hear it over my tv. Even on high, I would still consider the fan noise to be reasonable. The 211+ Auto comes with a prefilter which is easy to put on, remove, and wash. Air filters in many air purifiers have to have their filters replaced after 30 days, but BlueAir indicates that the filter is good for up to 6 months. Having to replace the filter in 6 months is definitely a plus. This model has an auto fan feature which allows the air quality sensor to determine what the fan speed needs to be at any given time. You can manually set low, medium, and high fan speeds, but I will likely keep mine on auto. The prefilter and primary filter are easy to remove. I don't anticipate a problem replacing the primary filter in 6 months. Since I have allergy problems, the 211+ Auto should be a big help with allergens this spring.

The Blueair Blue Pure 211+ Auto 550 Sq. Ft. HEPASilent Air Purifier in White is a solid performer that has noticeably improved the air quality in my living space. Here's a comprehensive review, outlining its strengths and a few areas where it could enhance further: Pros: Effective Purification: The air purifier's HEPASilent filtration system works impressively, capturing a significant amount of airborne particles, dust, pet dander, and allergens. It has notably reduced odors and improved the overall air quality in my home. Coverage Area: With the capacity to purify up to 550 square feet, it covers a substantial space, making it suitable for most living rooms or larger bedrooms. Whisper-Quiet Operation: The near-silent operation, especially on lower fan speeds, allows for usage throughout the day and even during sleep without causing any disturbance. Sleek Design: The minimalist and sleek design of the unit in white complements most home decors. The ability to change the pre-filter's color is a nice touch, allowing for some customization. Cons: Limited Smart Features: Unlike some other models in the market, this purifier lacks smart connectivity or automated sensors to adjust settings based on air quality. This could enhance the user experience by providing more automated control. Filter Replacement Costs: The replacement filters, while effective, can add up in costs over time. It would be beneficial if the filters were more affordable or had a longer lifespan. In summary, the Blueair Blue Pure 211+ HEPASilent Air Purifier in White is a commendable air purification system that significantly improves indoor air quality in a sizeable space. Its effectiveness, low noise, and attractive design make it a valuable addition to any home. Nevertheless, some additional smart features and potentially more cost-effective filter replacement options could further elevate its appeal. Overall, I would rate it 4 out of 5 stars for its efficient performance and noticeable impact on air quality, coupled with room for potential enhancements.

The Blueair - Pure 211+ Auto has a clean, efficient and uncomplicated design. The low fan speed setting is silent and the airflow ramps up when it senses my burnt cooking or the fireplace being used. The top discharge design is best for my hidden placement in the corner of the room behind furnishings. I have a Samsung Bespoke cube side discharge air cleaner in another room where a lower profile unit and horizontal discharge is more appropriate. I have noticed that the Blueair unit is more effective at removing pollutants on the low setting as the Bespoke unit.

I was a little skeptical about air purifiers until I began to research them and discovered how bad the air quality can get inside a home. I got a uHoo air quality tester last year and noticed some higher levels of TVOC’s and NO2 than I would have liked. I got the Blue Pure 211+ and put it in our largest bedroom, which happens to house 2 litter pans. The purifier isn’t too large and with the pre filter that wraps around the unit, it looks nice and fits with any décor. I ran the purifier in auto mode, and it was very quiet. When you walk into the room it sounds like a computer is running as you can hear the faint noise of the fan. It's not bothersome or annoyingly loud, but it is louder on higher settings. We found the lower or auto setting was adequate for us and with the amount of air the unit can purify over time we leave it on auto. There is a light on the unit, but it does more than just tell you the unit is on. It also lets you know what the particulate level is. Overall, it’s a nice, well-made unit. Another consideration you will want to investigate are filters. The filters for this unit use active charcoal, which helps with odors and NO2 levels among other things so it was something we wanted but there is a cost associated with them that will need to be accounted for down the road when replacements are needed. After 4 days I noticed that even with the litter pans in the room the air smelled better. I also took before and after readings with the air quality sensor and attached them to my review. There was a slight improvement in TVOC levels and NO2 levels. Overall, we are very impressed with the purifier. It’s quiet and gave us a noticeable difference in the air quality inside the house. Not only is the difference noticeable with our noses, but the air quality sensor backs it up. Coupled with the fact the unit gets high marks from Consumer Reports, you have a great air purifier.

This is a fantastic purifier that has good aesthetics and works well with our existing decor. While the machine is large because it looks good it fits well within our overall set up. The machine is super quiet in auto mode which we leave on all the time. It does a great job automatically detecting extra particles in the air when we are cooking and instantly turns into a higher gear to clean the air as well as reduce smells from cooking. I could not be happier with its performance. While it can be loud on the highest setting it doesn't bother us too much because we know it's working and doing its job. Once the sensors detect that particulates have decreased it automatically ramps down into low mode. While this doesn't have smart features to integrate into a smart home, leaving an auto mode does the job well and makes it super easy to set it and forget it with no maintenance. I haven't owned this yet to determine when the system will detect that filters need to be changed but I am confident that we will get at least 6 months out of it as stated in the documentation. Set up took less than 10 minutes which included moving a piece of furniture so that we could plug this into a surge protector. I'm extremely happy with my purchase to the point where I also purchased two of the smaller 411 auto models to put in two different bedrooms. If this system was 50 to $75 cheaper I think it would be priced exactly at the sweet spot but it is a little expensive at regular price.

Straighforward design and controls- nothing fancy but looks nice and works well. The Auto feature works well- if the detected air quality is good the fan will be on low but as soon as particles or smoke is detected it ramps up until the air quality returns to normal. I've tested this multiple times while cooking, vaping, etc.

I purchased the Blueair 211+ Auto in 2023, and overall, it has been solid and reliable. I run it 24/7/365. The product performs very well in terms of air purification, efficiently maintaining a fresh and clean atmosphere in my larger common living spaces. Pros: Excellent purification performance Reliable and consistent operation Simple to use Cons: Lacks smart features (no app support or phone controls) No real-time air quality information available (other than good/bad) While it's not a smart device and doesn't offer app-based controls or live data, its powerful performance compensates. If you prioritize efficiency over tech-savvy features, the Blueair 211+ Auto is a great choice.

I got this because I have a home with many pets and I'm tired of the dust in the pet hair. I purchased this to keep our home’s air clean from the wildfire smoke. This is actually our second 211 and third Blueair purifier, which in and of itself is a testament to how much we love this. This one actually automatically adjusts its power based on how dirty your air is, which is a convenient feature. It moves plenty of air, and makes a tremendous difference especially noticeable on those smoky days. It’s very quiet, the filters last pretty long, and it looks great too. Would definitely purchase again.

I tried several very good brands of air purifiers before this purchase and none of them compares. This is so simple to use and they work great. I like it so much that I have purchased two more to have in other parts of the house. The only issue that I have had is my little girl wanting to climb on it which changes the speed of the air purifier. I don’t like her standing over a fan like that on high speed. But the air purifier itself is wonderful.

A bit pricey but it did the trick of clearing the haze in our home. I have this in the main living space. I'm in Arizona. I was noticing a lot of dust on the furniture and the air seemed hazy. Within an hour of setting this up the house was so much fresher. The house is also a lot less dusty. I bought a smaller one for the master bedroom. It helps so much with allergies and is virtually silent.

Seems to work great in our open floor plan house. Automatically senses when it needs to turn on higher - like when we are cooking. Looks nice. The only issue we've had is that the control is in the middle of the top and one of our cats likes to jump up and sit on the top and when he does this, he sits on the control and turns the fan all the way up. I think the little devil likes the fan and does this on purpose!
