It detected dirty air well. The downside is in air odor removal. The filter has an active carbon layer however its a fiber layer so its not as efficient in removing odors like other purifiers that have active carbon pellets. I returned it and bought the levoit 600s instead as the levoit filter has actual charcoal pellets.

A bit noisy when it is working its hardest and sometimes ramps down abruptly, but seems to work fine. Interesting to watch the PPM jump up when cooking and then see it decrease as it works.
