Good looking and quiet air purifier. It’s a lot bigger than the pictures make it seem, with an overall size that takes up the same amount of space as a small ottoman. I didn’t remove the filter cover, but it feels like the filter spans a full 360 around the body, so it pulls in air from all sides. The purified air then comes out vertically through the vented top, which you can feel as you stand over it. It doesn’t come with a remote, but you can monitor and control it through the Blueair phone app that’s free on Android and iOS. And I guess this is what sets it apart from other HEPA air filters, because not only can you get a live feed of the current air quality (down to 2.5 microns!), but also a readout of the current outside air quality, and of course you can use it as a remote. Unfortunately, you’ll have to look at higher end models if VOC detection or UV capabilities are a priority. In terms of day to day use, air purifiers are kind of a set and forget thing. What I love about this one is that it has an Auto setting that automatically increases the fan speed depending on the quality of the air it’s pulling in. It mostly always stays at a low level that I can barely hear, but it ramps up quickly if someone has been smoking or vaping nearby. At the highest level, there’s clearly an audible whooshing sound with a little bit of intermittent whirring. However, it’s not so loud that I feel like I have to speak over it or blast the TV. Outside of the Auto and 3 speed settings, there’s a Night mode, which I’m honestly not sure what it does. I know it turns off the blue illumination light on the front of the purifier and dims the display, but I don’t know if it does anything in terms of limiting fan speed. What’s also pretty nifty about the Pure 311i series are the interchangeable prefilters. This is the cloth that wraps around the outside of the purifier. While I like the gray mine that came in, there’s currently 2 other colors available that I can swap over to and I can only imagine the third party designs that could be available in the future. Overall, if you’re looking for an attractive medium room air purifier I highly recommend checking out the Blueair Pure 311i Max. It’s has a HEPA filter, looks good, works well, is generally whisper quiet, has a customizable cover, and an air quality live feed. Works great on smoke, vapor, and pet smells.

I have been using a larger Bluair purifier for my kitchen and family room now for over 2 years and it has been an outstanding product. I wanted something small for my bedroom and bath and had the opportunity to test and review this new Bluair 311i Max. Bluair claims it cleans 387 sq. ft. in 12.5 minutes and 929 sw. ft. in 30 minutes. This is a really nice purifier. It is a great size and is fairly light weight. The manual instructs you to download the Bluair app and connect to Wi-Fi. When you first turn on the unit the Wi-Fi indicator will blink. The manual says to have the unit within 15 feet of your router. I first attempted to connect the unit in my bedroom and it was too far away apparently as it would not connect. I moved the unit to my office where the router is located and it connected right away. The app walks you through the set up which includes connecting to the Bluetooth on your device. Not sure why this is required as after this step is completed you no longer need to have Bluetooth on in order to use the app. After I finished setting everything up, I moved the unit back to my bedroom and began testing it. The unit itself has a series of buttons on the top for on/off (standby), fan speed, auto mode and night mode as well as an indicator to let you know the filter needs changed. There are indicators for the 3 fan speeds. There is also a colored light on the front of the unit to let you know what the air quality level is. If you push a combination of the fan speed and on/off button you can change the brightest for the lights. I tested all these functions and everything worked as expected. I primarily use the app to operated the unit. The app provides data on outside air quality (not sure how it knows). When you access the purifier, it provides data on the inside air quality. What I really like about the app is you can turn the unit on and off (standby), adjust the fan speed, set auto or night mode, set child lock and adjust the brightest of the lights. What is really interesting when adjusting the speed instead of just options for 1, 2 or 3 you can have incremental levels between each one and the app tells you what percentage the fan is running at. For example, at fan speed 1 it runs at 12% and fan speed 2 runs at 56% you can adjust between these values. I have been running this around half way between 1 and 2 at 30%. This gives me a good air flow and the noise level is very comforting. This purifier is very quiet. On night mode you can’t hear it at all and even at level 3 it is quieter than many purifiers I have used. Replacement of the filter is easy. Simply detach the top, remove the silencer ring and the sock pre filter and remove the filter. The filters are now expected to last up to 9 months versus some purifiers that last only 3-6 months. The filters are very reasonable at around $35.00 and even less if you have a renewal subscription. I have been using this product for the last 3 days and it has performed exceptionally well. My bedroom and bath smell noticeably cleaner and fresher. It this unit continues to perform as well as my larger Bluair this should be a great air purifier to have. This is probably the best air purifier I have found in this price range. I would highly recommend this product.

One of the standout features of the Blue Pure 311i is its straightforward setup process. It comes with clear and concise instructions, allowing users to assemble the unit within minutes. The filters are pre-installed, eliminating the need for any complicated filter installation procedures. The compact and lightweight design of the Blue Pure 311i further enhances its ease of installation and use. The unit's portability and versatility make it adaptable to various room sizes and layouts. The Blueair Blue Pure 311i air purifier boasts an intuitive control interface, making it very user-friendly. Located on the top of the unit, the touch-sensitive control panel offers a sleek and modern aesthetic. The panel features easy-to-understand icons and functions, ensuring effortless operation for users of all ages. The purifier offers three fan speed settings: low, medium, and high. Adjusting the fan speed can be done with a simple tap on the control panel, allowing users to customize the airflow according to their preferences and the level of air pollution in the room. The display also provides real-time feedback on the indoor air quality, thanks to the inclusion of a color-coded indicator. This feature enables users to monitor the effectiveness of the purifier at a glance. One notable aspect of the Blue Pure 311i is its whisper-quiet operation. Even on the highest fan speed setting, the noise produced remains minimal, allowing for uninterrupted sleep or work. The lack of excessive noise makes the unit ideal for bedrooms, nurseries, or office spaces where a peaceful environment is crucial. The unit comes equipped with a combination particle and carbon filter, ensuring the removal of airborne pollutants such as dust, pet dander, pollen, smoke, and odors. The filter's lifespan varies depending on usage and air quality but typically lasts around six months. The process of replacing the filters is straightforward and can be done in a matter of minutes. The purifier's top cover easily lifts off, providing access to the filters. Once removed, the old filter can be replaced with a new one by simply placing it back into the unit. The filters are readily available and can be purchased directly from the manufacturer or authorized retailers. To maintain optimal performance, it is recommended to vacuum the outer surface of the filter periodically to remove any accumulated dust. This simple step enhances the filter's longevity and ensures its efficiency in capturing airborne particles.

This is my second Blueair Blue Pure product. I upgraded from the Blue Pure 411i to the Blue Pure 311i. I am very allergic to dust, therefore an air purifier is a must in my home. I prefer to have one in each of the rooms instead of one for the whole house. This one was placed in my bedroom. The Blue Pure 311i is almost twice as large as my previous Blue Pure. It was delivered in a huge box. The set-up was pretty straightforward, remove packing plastics, place the dust cover on, then plug in the device. There is an app that allows you to control the air purifer remotely, plus many more additional functions. After bluetooth and Wifi connections were reached, I turned on the air purifier. First I was truly amazed at how this unit is so quiet. The noise shield works great! At the highest setting 3, it's about as loud as a box fan on low. This air purifier is great for my older home as it not only removes dust, it removes pollen, pet dander, mold, bacteria and viruses, cooking odors, chemicals, and smoke. The particle sensor measures the fine particles level. (PM2.5) There is an LED indicator to show the air quality in different colors, from excellent to very polluted. The BlueAir pre-filter can be cleaned in the washer. I have other brands air purifiers in my home that are slowly being replace with Blue Air. Highly recommend.

A Stylish Path To Healthier Air

I have really bad allergies, especially during the Spring and early Summer, so I have quite a few air purifiers from different brands around the house. When I got a chance to try my first Blueair air purifier I had to jump on it. Here’s my review of the Blueair Blue Pure 311i. I’ll give you my overall impressions first and then break it down a bit. Overall I really liked pretty much everything about the Blueair Blue Pure 311i. It’s a great air purifier for small to medium-sized rooms. It's pretty simple to use, has a nice design that would blend into any decor, and can operate very quietly. It also has HEPASilent technology, which traps 99.97% of airborne particles. If you're shopping for an air purifier, the Blueair Blue Pure 311i is a solid choice. The Blueair Blue Pure 311i is a wonderful air purifier for small to medium-sized rooms. It's a breeze to use and has a sleek, modern design. I personally enjoy the ability to set the unit on quiet mode if it’s located in a living room but also can turn it on high if I want some white noise in a bedroom. The Blue Pure 311i advertises something called HEPASilent technology, which claims to trap 99.97% of airborne particles, including dust, pollen, pet hair, and other smaller particles. The pre-filter is there as well and that takes care of the larger particles before hitting the HEPA filter. The air purifier has a CADR rating of 150, which basically means that it can clean the air in a 150-square-foot room up to 5 times per hour. This rating is only true when it’s operating in full speed mode though, as sleep mode will be quieter but not clean the air nearly as quickly. As with any air purifier, you’ll need to replace the filters on the 311i occasionally. Blueair recommends replacing the filters every 6 months, but I usually use these a little longer as I clean them with my vacuum every couple of weeks to extend their life. Also, I wasn’t able to find filters for the 311i on the Blueair website as of this review, but based on their other similar air purifiers the filters are a bit pricey. Pros: -Simple operation -CADR rating of 150 -Sleek, aesthetically pleasing design -HEPASilent technology -Can operate quietly Cons: -May be too small for large rooms -Filters look like they may be pricey

Recieved this and the fan sounds weird on the highest setting. Got it on sale during Black Friday wanted to exchange it so I’d get it at the same sell price. They said they’d send another one it was supposed to be here yesterday. I checked status on line and they had canceled the order. Has spent and wasted a lot of time on mine texting and chatting with customer service to no avail. Will be returning this today and will have to wait for a new one. I’m supposing or I’ll get it elsewhere. Avoid Best Buy if at all possible the return policy and customer service is subpar. I feel like ive been herding cats trying to get a working purifier. They don’t care if you are put out because they are not.

I'm familiar with Blueair because I had an older model of their air purifiers in my home. As you can imagine, I was excited to pick up this newer, smart air purifier. When it comes to design, Blueair has it down. The Pure 311i Max looks simple and elegant. While my model came with a gray fabric prefilter, there are different other colored fabric prefilters you can buy online. It's a great way to change them out regularly, helping to filter the air and keep the purifier looking new. The prefilters are machine washable, so that's a plus! You can control the Pure 311i Max from the onboard button or via the smartphone app. With a few different speed levels from one to three, plus an auto and night mode, this purifier should work fine for most situations. In fact, I would suggest leaving it on auto mode and letting it do its own thing. While on auto, it will speed up and slow down depending on how it senses the quality of air in your home. The Pure 311i Max is smart-enabled thanks to the Blueair app. App controls and interface is fairly simple and straight-forward. You will be able to see a charted history of your air quality, change the LED brightness on the actual purifier, set speed schedules, and - of course - basic functions such as power and speed. If you have little children in your home, there is also a cool "child lock" function that prevents the buttons on the purifier from being changed. While I generally keep my purifier on auto, I say that it's generally silent. I barely even know it's on unless the purifier detects some questionable air and automatically spins up. At its highest setting, I wouldn't say that it's loud per say, but it is noticeable. That's fine though, because the goal is to push as much air through it as possible on high. I have bad allergies and believe in the power of home air purifiers. Give my past experience with Blueair and the last week with my Blue Pure 311i Max, I would definitely recommend this for anyone searching for a hassle-free purifier for medium-size spaces.

    Quiet and Modern Air Purifier

The Blueair - Blu Pure 311i Max is an outstanding home air purifier not only in design but function. This is the second Blueair product that I own and am quite pleased with it as I was with my first one. Although the Blu Pure beats it in the looks department. It has a modern cylindrical design with a cloth material going around most of the unit, reminding me of a giant Bluetooth speaker which mind you is not a bad look for an air purifier. Mind you most air purifiers are big and rectangular and don’t look aesthetically pleasing no matter where you place them in the home. This model however will blend into most modern/minimalistic designs in my opinion. Functionality wise it is rated for a room size of 388 square feet. There are air quality indicator lights that visually reflect the quality of air at a glance. It has a programmable timer and there are 4 fan speeds to choose from. All these controls can be accessed from the top of the unit and are very simple to operate. Alternatively you can access all this and more through the app. Another important feature that we all look for in an air purifier is how quiet it runs while operating. On the specs sheets it lists the unit as “Quiet Mark certified (23-50dB) all I can tell you that in person it is quiet. My kids have allergies and I love this in the home especially during spring/summertime.

Setup was easy since it was just a matter of plugging it in and downloading the app. By this point everyone should be used to this routine. The buttons on the unit was also very straightforward, no need to guess. It has a cool looking design, I placed it where I used to have a plant in the corner of the room. It's is not a distraction or an eye sore, but when you spot it, it looks cool. The air quality in the room has defintly improved. It was placed in a room that used to get a lot of pollen from the backyard, now with the air filter I notice a huge difference. Especially since my allergies has been horrbile lately. It runs pretty quiet regardless of what setting it is on, which I like because it will not disrupt any of my naps. The outstanding feature is the Alexa compatibility which is super convenient. I think I will add this filter to some of my Alexa routines. This air filter is the best one I have had so far. If you feel it is too pricy, you can always get a smaller unit for your smaller rooms instead.

I started my Blueair product journey three years ago and I’ve been happy with the results overall. There are a number of nit-picking items that I had hoped were fixed in this newer model which I’ll come to in a moment. For new buyers I caution that the replacement filters are the most costly part of owning these devices so budget accordingly. The 311i replaces the rectangle block design of the ones I own with a rounded design that makes the look more like speakers than air purifiers, something I’m not a big fan of as I don’t like accessories drawing visual attention to themselves. Rounded objects also make vacuuming the space around the object difficult. Blueair uses Bluetooth and Wifi to link the device to a smartphone via their app. For the most part once the device is connected and set to Automatic there’s very little to play with beyond filter replacements. I was disappointed to find that there is still no method to change the registered Wifi network on the device; doing so requires the device to be deleted from the app and then re-added. Though my children are old enough to know not to mess with these devices, the addition of Night mode and Child Lock are useful software features that will prevent the physical buttons from working in the event your toddler is attracted to the Blue lights and decides to start pressing buttons. The previous models I have don’t have these software controls, mostly because in the previous design the buttons were concealed beneath a snap-up panel that at first glance of the device doesn’t appear to open. This new rounded design eliminates the snap-up panel making all the buttons visible and enticing to toddlers. We placed this unit in our bedroom. My wife has super-hearing and is a light-sleeper. I’m happy to report that she doesn’t even notice the fans running on this unit. Kudos to Blueair for near silent operation. Blueair partners with Breezometer for an in-app zoomable map of the world that shows the surrounding air quality. This feature is helpful when the unit kicks into higher gear than normal and you want to understand why. As a seasonal allergy sufferer having these units has helped keep the air on our home fresh and I’m happy to have them doing their task each day.

In the box is the air purifier with power cord attached and a plastic bag with a user manual (and a flyer with a QR code for an extended warranty and information for a subscription on replacement filters. First impression, great size but the cord is medium sized, so depending on where you want to place the purifier, the cord may not be long enough. For me, I wanted put it in a central location for the bedrooms but my hallway is narrow so I had to opt for the dining room area. When I have guest, I put it back far enough for all sides to have air flow. Please note, this is my first air purifier. I ended up testing the air purifier in different rooms in the house on the upper level. I plugged it in and turned it on and I noticed the blinking Wi-Fi light and on the front of the purifier, there is a blinking light as well. The different colors (red, amber, white, green, blue) tell you the status of the air from very polluted (red) to excellent-clean (blue). I noticed in all of the rooms it started with white and within 15-30 minutes, the light turned blue. The fan has three settings, low, medium and high. In my opinion, the fans sound like a regular standing fan on the highest setting and you barely hear the fan on the lowest setting. Most of my household have a fan that continuously blows year round, so the sound of fan on the highest setting did not bother me. There is also two other buttons, auto mode and night mode. Auto mode is based on the PM2.5 indoor level to ensure optimal air quality and the night mode sets the fan at the lowest speed and fully dims the lights. Wi-Fi - For the purifier wifi settings, you can chose to use the app or not. The app is called Blueair and it is a white box with a blue dot in the center. On the purifier, when the Wi-Fi light is blinking that means you’re not connected. When the light is solid, that means you are connected to the app. The app will walk you through connecting to wifi and it will allow you to have a visual of the information on the purifier. It also shows your filter status, adjust the brightness of the lights on the purifier and you can also add a schedule. There are also three lines that you can push on the upper right hand corner of the app and you can view the air quality map, blueair store, your profile, warranty, settings, voice assistants, support and policies. I personally did not use the app in the beginning and you can get the same information on the purifier. I do however like the app for the purpose of adjusting the settings from another room with my phone instead of walking to press the buttons on the unit. The information for the filters is listed on the app and in the User Manual. Overall, I really like this product and I hope to buy another one for the lower part of the house. I would recommend this to friends and family.

    Another GREAT Blueair Filter

I've been using room air purifiers for years to help with my allergies. I've always owned the HEPA-type with the carbon and paper filters. Filter replacement was always expensive, so I went looking for a less bulky, less costly brand. Back at the beginning of the pandemic I purchased my first Blueair filter and have loved it ever since. I immediately noticed the effects on my sleep, how I slept better, longer , uninterrupted and felt more fresh in the mornings. I LOVE the all-in-one filter. It's so affordable and easy to replace. I love the fabric cover/pre-filter. So simple to vacuum or even throw in the washer. I love how quiet this is on the lowest setting. The medium setting might be too loud for some at night, but it's much quieter on medium than other air purifiers I have owned. The high setting is loud, but it's great to leave on all day when you're at work. If you close the door and leave it on high all day, when you come home you can actually smell the freshness of the room. If you have allergies, asthma, or share walls with a smoker next door, you very much need to buy BlueAir. I also love how the light at the top turns red when it's time to replace the filter. Some of my old models had filter indicator lights that stopped working after 6 months, so after that you're just guessing about when to change the filter. BlueAir has such a simple, logical, efficient design including the integration of the app which allows me to make adjustments and monitor the quality of the air. This thing truly has been amazing when it comes to the most important thing to me which is good sleep. I almost hate when I have to travel away from home because I will be without my filter.

    Incredibly quiet home air purifier

The Blueair Pure 311i Max is the third air purifier I've added to my home and the second from Blueair. My other Blueair device is a Classic series which is much larger and bulkier (and moves a ton of air, too). The other brand device is a very small unit designed to work in smaller bedrooms and specifically is marketed to pet owners. The Pure 311i Max is advertised to improve air quality in much the same way as my other units but to do so in a smarter, less obtrusive way. I already had the Blueair app on my phone, so adding the 311i Max was incredibly simple. The only thing I had to do was grant bluetooth permissions to the app as Blueair has simplified the connection process somewhat from my old 605. Once added, I'm able to view a chart showing my indoor air quality as measured by the 311i Max. The new unit uses the air quality to inform the automatic fan speed control. If you want the best air quality without much noise most of the time, this is probably the best setting to use. The air quality sensor also reflects the current particulates reading with the color of the LED on the front of the unit. The only real negative to owning Blueair purifiers in my opinion is the cost of the replacement filters. As a premium product, the replacement filters cost as much as some other purifiers do for the entire unit! I've tried some off brand filter cartridges and the unit doesn't perform very well with them as they usually end up being much more restrictive. That said, I feel like either of my Blueair units does a better job at lower noise levels than the other unit in my home, so the cost for the premium filters seems worthwhile to me.

This air purifier is amazing. We have kids and one has asthma and terrible seasonal allergies. This time of year always means more cleaning and extra vacuuming but it's still a struggle to reduce his exposure to allergens. I can confidently say this has made a big difference in just a few days. Setup was super easy and the app connected quickly and without a ton of hard to follow steps. I love that you have a graph and can physically see when and if changes to air quality are happening. You can look back through previous hours as well if there were spikes in the air quality and you want to monitor it and your home. I really liked that we could set up different profiles or time slots for running your purifier. Right now we have it set to run when we are all home and all night. I've noticed we are sleeping better and all of us are sneezing less even with sleeping with windows open. I love that the prefilter is washable and you have the option to sign up for shipments of the filter as needed. This was super easy to use and set up for our families needs. I'm looking into the next size up to put in the living room now and we will be using this one specifically by our son's room and the play area. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a cleaner environment and easy to use controls.

Air purifiers have become “the new thing” ever since the pandemic I feel like. Lots of air purifiers with varying levels of purification ratings, and the Blueair does not disappoint. It’s essentially hospital-grade because it’s rates to catch even airborne viruses with the HEPA filter. For our home, all of us, including our two kids, have terrible allergies. And where we live, cedar and oak are basically active all year long. So we have had to put purifiers in every room. So our experiences with different purifiers is based on real world actual data (my kids being able to sleep at night). Hands down, the best feature I’d the Blueair is that it is quiet. Not a “quiet” if you run at the lowest fan speed, but truly quiet. Our room doesn’t sound like a jet engine at night. In addition, the brightness of the lights are dimmable! Why other companies don’t think that a glaring bright blue/white light blasting in the room is okay is beyond me, but that was a common complaint with other filters because my wife is a light sleeper and sensitive to light. I set the filter to auto, and I haven’t had a sniffly nose at night since. Cant recommend enough.

I recently received a Blueair – Blue Pure 311i Air Purifier. This is my 3rd Blueair air cleaner. I have them all in use all of the time. The key to the simplicity of the devices is the Blueair App. I run mine on Android. The app is available on iPhones as well. After you unpack the device, the first thing you want to do is setup the Wi-Fi. Once you setup the Wi-Fi you can schedule how and when it operates. I typically have it on “Auto” during the day and run it in “Night Mode” during sleeping hours. The air filter has a control panel. The control panel has an On/Off button and a Fan Speed button. There are indicators for Auto Mode, Night Mode, Speeds 1,2 and 3, Filter Replacement and Wi-Fi. You can control the settings with the buttons or the app. Using the app has the advantage of you being abled to set a schedule and never have to touch the air cleaner until it’s time to change the filter. Using the buttons, you can also change the brightness of the display as well as enable or disable the child lock. You can also enable and disable the Wi-Fi and perform a Factory Reset with the buttons. The Air cleaner consists of the upper motor housing with the controls, a Silencer ring, particle & carbon filter, and a washable fabric pre-filter. The pre-filter is the actually the outside of the unit. When it’s time to clean it, just throw it in the washing machine. It’s a nice air cleaner. It does a good job of getting the dust and allergens out of the air. I recommend this filter for anyone looking to clean the air in a room.

Nice and quiet and very effective in the bedroom. The app makes it easy to see when there’s more particles in the air and how well it was removed.
