I'm familiar with Blueair because I had an older model of their air purifiers in my home. As you can imagine, I was excited to pick up this newer, smart air purifier. When it comes to design, Blueair has it down. The Pure 311i Max looks simple and elegant. While my model came with a gray fabric prefilter, there are different other colored fabric prefilters you can buy online. It's a great way to change them out regularly, helping to filter the air and keep the purifier looking new. The prefilters are machine washable, so that's a plus! You can control the Pure 311i Max from the onboard button or via the smartphone app. With a few different speed levels from one to three, plus an auto and night mode, this purifier should work fine for most situations. In fact, I would suggest leaving it on auto mode and letting it do its own thing. While on auto, it will speed up and slow down depending on how it senses the quality of air in your home. The Pure 311i Max is smart-enabled thanks to the Blueair app. App controls and interface is fairly simple and straight-forward. You will be able to see a charted history of your air quality, change the LED brightness on the actual purifier, set speed schedules, and - of course - basic functions such as power and speed. If you have little children in your home, there is also a cool "child lock" function that prevents the buttons on the purifier from being changed. While I generally keep my purifier on auto, I say that it's generally silent. I barely even know it's on unless the purifier detects some questionable air and automatically spins up. At its highest setting, I wouldn't say that it's loud per say, but it is noticeable. That's fine though, because the goal is to push as much air through it as possible on high. I have bad allergies and believe in the power of home air purifiers. Give my past experience with Blueair and the last week with my Blue Pure 311i Max, I would definitely recommend this for anyone searching for a hassle-free purifier for medium-size spaces.

    Quiet and Modern Air Purifier

The Blueair - Blu Pure 311i Max is an outstanding home air purifier not only in design but function. This is the second Blueair product that I own and am quite pleased with it as I was with my first one. Although the Blu Pure beats it in the looks department. It has a modern cylindrical design with a cloth material going around most of the unit, reminding me of a giant Bluetooth speaker which mind you is not a bad look for an air purifier. Mind you most air purifiers are big and rectangular and don’t look aesthetically pleasing no matter where you place them in the home. This model however will blend into most modern/minimalistic designs in my opinion. Functionality wise it is rated for a room size of 388 square feet. There are air quality indicator lights that visually reflect the quality of air at a glance. It has a programmable timer and there are 4 fan speeds to choose from. All these controls can be accessed from the top of the unit and are very simple to operate. Alternatively you can access all this and more through the app. Another important feature that we all look for in an air purifier is how quiet it runs while operating. On the specs sheets it lists the unit as “Quiet Mark certified (23-50dB) all I can tell you that in person it is quiet. My kids have allergies and I love this in the home especially during spring/summertime.

Setup was easy since it was just a matter of plugging it in and downloading the app. By this point everyone should be used to this routine. The buttons on the unit was also very straightforward, no need to guess. It has a cool looking design, I placed it where I used to have a plant in the corner of the room. It's is not a distraction or an eye sore, but when you spot it, it looks cool. The air quality in the room has defintly improved. It was placed in a room that used to get a lot of pollen from the backyard, now with the air filter I notice a huge difference. Especially since my allergies has been horrbile lately. It runs pretty quiet regardless of what setting it is on, which I like because it will not disrupt any of my naps. The outstanding feature is the Alexa compatibility which is super convenient. I think I will add this filter to some of my Alexa routines. This air filter is the best one I have had so far. If you feel it is too pricy, you can always get a smaller unit for your smaller rooms instead.

I started my Blueair product journey three years ago and I’ve been happy with the results overall. There are a number of nit-picking items that I had hoped were fixed in this newer model which I’ll come to in a moment. For new buyers I caution that the replacement filters are the most costly part of owning these devices so budget accordingly. The 311i replaces the rectangle block design of the ones I own with a rounded design that makes the look more like speakers than air purifiers, something I’m not a big fan of as I don’t like accessories drawing visual attention to themselves. Rounded objects also make vacuuming the space around the object difficult. Blueair uses Bluetooth and Wifi to link the device to a smartphone via their app. For the most part once the device is connected and set to Automatic there’s very little to play with beyond filter replacements. I was disappointed to find that there is still no method to change the registered Wifi network on the device; doing so requires the device to be deleted from the app and then re-added. Though my children are old enough to know not to mess with these devices, the addition of Night mode and Child Lock are useful software features that will prevent the physical buttons from working in the event your toddler is attracted to the Blue lights and decides to start pressing buttons. The previous models I have don’t have these software controls, mostly because in the previous design the buttons were concealed beneath a snap-up panel that at first glance of the device doesn’t appear to open. This new rounded design eliminates the snap-up panel making all the buttons visible and enticing to toddlers. We placed this unit in our bedroom. My wife has super-hearing and is a light-sleeper. I’m happy to report that she doesn’t even notice the fans running on this unit. Kudos to Blueair for near silent operation. Blueair partners with Breezometer for an in-app zoomable map of the world that shows the surrounding air quality. This feature is helpful when the unit kicks into higher gear than normal and you want to understand why. As a seasonal allergy sufferer having these units has helped keep the air on our home fresh and I’m happy to have them doing their task each day.

In the box is the air purifier with power cord attached and a plastic bag with a user manual (and a flyer with a QR code for an extended warranty and information for a subscription on replacement filters. First impression, great size but the cord is medium sized, so depending on where you want to place the purifier, the cord may not be long enough. For me, I wanted put it in a central location for the bedrooms but my hallway is narrow so I had to opt for the dining room area. When I have guest, I put it back far enough for all sides to have air flow. Please note, this is my first air purifier. I ended up testing the air purifier in different rooms in the house on the upper level. I plugged it in and turned it on and I noticed the blinking Wi-Fi light and on the front of the purifier, there is a blinking light as well. The different colors (red, amber, white, green, blue) tell you the status of the air from very polluted (red) to excellent-clean (blue). I noticed in all of the rooms it started with white and within 15-30 minutes, the light turned blue. The fan has three settings, low, medium and high. In my opinion, the fans sound like a regular standing fan on the highest setting and you barely hear the fan on the lowest setting. Most of my household have a fan that continuously blows year round, so the sound of fan on the highest setting did not bother me. There is also two other buttons, auto mode and night mode. Auto mode is based on the PM2.5 indoor level to ensure optimal air quality and the night mode sets the fan at the lowest speed and fully dims the lights. Wi-Fi - For the purifier wifi settings, you can chose to use the app or not. The app is called Blueair and it is a white box with a blue dot in the center. On the purifier, when the Wi-Fi light is blinking that means you’re not connected. When the light is solid, that means you are connected to the app. The app will walk you through connecting to wifi and it will allow you to have a visual of the information on the purifier. It also shows your filter status, adjust the brightness of the lights on the purifier and you can also add a schedule. There are also three lines that you can push on the upper right hand corner of the app and you can view the air quality map, blueair store, your profile, warranty, settings, voice assistants, support and policies. I personally did not use the app in the beginning and you can get the same information on the purifier. I do however like the app for the purpose of adjusting the settings from another room with my phone instead of walking to press the buttons on the unit. The information for the filters is listed on the app and in the User Manual. Overall, I really like this product and I hope to buy another one for the lower part of the house. I would recommend this to friends and family.

    Another GREAT Blueair Filter

I've been using room air purifiers for years to help with my allergies. I've always owned the HEPA-type with the carbon and paper filters. Filter replacement was always expensive, so I went looking for a less bulky, less costly brand. Back at the beginning of the pandemic I purchased my first Blueair filter and have loved it ever since. I immediately noticed the effects on my sleep, how I slept better, longer , uninterrupted and felt more fresh in the mornings. I LOVE the all-in-one filter. It's so affordable and easy to replace. I love the fabric cover/pre-filter. So simple to vacuum or even throw in the washer. I love how quiet this is on the lowest setting. The medium setting might be too loud for some at night, but it's much quieter on medium than other air purifiers I have owned. The high setting is loud, but it's great to leave on all day when you're at work. If you close the door and leave it on high all day, when you come home you can actually smell the freshness of the room. If you have allergies, asthma, or share walls with a smoker next door, you very much need to buy BlueAir. I also love how the light at the top turns red when it's time to replace the filter. Some of my old models had filter indicator lights that stopped working after 6 months, so after that you're just guessing about when to change the filter. BlueAir has such a simple, logical, efficient design including the integration of the app which allows me to make adjustments and monitor the quality of the air. This thing truly has been amazing when it comes to the most important thing to me which is good sleep. I almost hate when I have to travel away from home because I will be without my filter.

    Incredibly quiet home air purifier

The Blueair Pure 311i Max is the third air purifier I've added to my home and the second from Blueair. My other Blueair device is a Classic series which is much larger and bulkier (and moves a ton of air, too). The other brand device is a very small unit designed to work in smaller bedrooms and specifically is marketed to pet owners. The Pure 311i Max is advertised to improve air quality in much the same way as my other units but to do so in a smarter, less obtrusive way. I already had the Blueair app on my phone, so adding the 311i Max was incredibly simple. The only thing I had to do was grant bluetooth permissions to the app as Blueair has simplified the connection process somewhat from my old 605. Once added, I'm able to view a chart showing my indoor air quality as measured by the 311i Max. The new unit uses the air quality to inform the automatic fan speed control. If you want the best air quality without much noise most of the time, this is probably the best setting to use. The air quality sensor also reflects the current particulates reading with the color of the LED on the front of the unit. The only real negative to owning Blueair purifiers in my opinion is the cost of the replacement filters. As a premium product, the replacement filters cost as much as some other purifiers do for the entire unit! I've tried some off brand filter cartridges and the unit doesn't perform very well with them as they usually end up being much more restrictive. That said, I feel like either of my Blueair units does a better job at lower noise levels than the other unit in my home, so the cost for the premium filters seems worthwhile to me.

This air purifier is amazing. We have kids and one has asthma and terrible seasonal allergies. This time of year always means more cleaning and extra vacuuming but it's still a struggle to reduce his exposure to allergens. I can confidently say this has made a big difference in just a few days. Setup was super easy and the app connected quickly and without a ton of hard to follow steps. I love that you have a graph and can physically see when and if changes to air quality are happening. You can look back through previous hours as well if there were spikes in the air quality and you want to monitor it and your home. I really liked that we could set up different profiles or time slots for running your purifier. Right now we have it set to run when we are all home and all night. I've noticed we are sleeping better and all of us are sneezing less even with sleeping with windows open. I love that the prefilter is washable and you have the option to sign up for shipments of the filter as needed. This was super easy to use and set up for our families needs. I'm looking into the next size up to put in the living room now and we will be using this one specifically by our son's room and the play area. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a cleaner environment and easy to use controls.

Air purifiers have become “the new thing” ever since the pandemic I feel like. Lots of air purifiers with varying levels of purification ratings, and the Blueair does not disappoint. It’s essentially hospital-grade because it’s rates to catch even airborne viruses with the HEPA filter. For our home, all of us, including our two kids, have terrible allergies. And where we live, cedar and oak are basically active all year long. So we have had to put purifiers in every room. So our experiences with different purifiers is based on real world actual data (my kids being able to sleep at night). Hands down, the best feature I’d the Blueair is that it is quiet. Not a “quiet” if you run at the lowest fan speed, but truly quiet. Our room doesn’t sound like a jet engine at night. In addition, the brightness of the lights are dimmable! Why other companies don’t think that a glaring bright blue/white light blasting in the room is okay is beyond me, but that was a common complaint with other filters because my wife is a light sleeper and sensitive to light. I set the filter to auto, and I haven’t had a sniffly nose at night since. Cant recommend enough.

I recently received a Blueair – Blue Pure 311i Air Purifier. This is my 3rd Blueair air cleaner. I have them all in use all of the time. The key to the simplicity of the devices is the Blueair App. I run mine on Android. The app is available on iPhones as well. After you unpack the device, the first thing you want to do is setup the Wi-Fi. Once you setup the Wi-Fi you can schedule how and when it operates. I typically have it on “Auto” during the day and run it in “Night Mode” during sleeping hours. The air filter has a control panel. The control panel has an On/Off button and a Fan Speed button. There are indicators for Auto Mode, Night Mode, Speeds 1,2 and 3, Filter Replacement and Wi-Fi. You can control the settings with the buttons or the app. Using the app has the advantage of you being abled to set a schedule and never have to touch the air cleaner until it’s time to change the filter. Using the buttons, you can also change the brightness of the display as well as enable or disable the child lock. You can also enable and disable the Wi-Fi and perform a Factory Reset with the buttons. The Air cleaner consists of the upper motor housing with the controls, a Silencer ring, particle & carbon filter, and a washable fabric pre-filter. The pre-filter is the actually the outside of the unit. When it’s time to clean it, just throw it in the washing machine. It’s a nice air cleaner. It does a good job of getting the dust and allergens out of the air. I recommend this filter for anyone looking to clean the air in a room.

Superior Purification with a Sleek Aesthetic

I have always been a proponent of Blueair purifiers to which the Blue Pure 311i Max air purifier really sets itself apart. With its advanced features and superior performance, it ensures clean and fresh indoor air. First right out of the box, the purifier has a very sleek and modern design. The shape seems to not only add an aesthetic touch but also serves a functional purpose by maximizing the air intake from all directions. The build quality is excellent, with sturdy construction that feels durable and long-lasting. Moving onto performance though this purifier definitely excels in nearly every element. It includes a combination of three filters: a fabric pre-filter, an activated carbon filter, and a particle filter. The fabric pre-filter is something I definitely appreciate as it traps larger items like pet hair which will ideally extend the lifespan of the main filters. The activated carbon filter supposedly eliminates odors to which I can say this holds true as we utilize the purifier in our basement where our kids play and it definitely eliminates all those unwanted smells that come along with kids. Then lastly, the particle filter supposedly removes those small particles such as allergens, pollen, and mold to which this is difficult to verify though we have not had any allergy or mold issues since it is that time of the year when those pop up. There are a multitude of features of this purifier, but the two I want to mention are how quiet it is during operation and also the ease of maintenance. The purifier is absolutely whisper-quiet as you can barely even notice it is running. Even at higher fan speeds, it remains remarkably silent. Though we use it in our basement I definitely would not hesitate to use it in a bedroom or office where noise would need to be kept at a minimum. The ease of maintenance is another key selling point for me as maintaining the purifier is a breeze. The fabric pre-filter and particle filter are both washable which is great as it reduces the extra cost of numerous replacement filters. I also can`t go without mentioning the various smart features that enhance convenience and customization. Firstly, the auto mode adjusts the fan speed based on the air quality in real-time. Additionally, the device is compatible with the Blueair app, which provides remote control elements along with access to air quality data. Overall, the Blue Pure 311i Max air purifier stands out as an exceptional choice for those looking for cleaner and fresher indoor air. With its innovative design, powerful filtration system, and smart features, it delivers outstanding performance. This air purifier surpassed all my expectations and I would definitely recommend it to those in the market for a new air purifier.

We have been searching for the perfect HEPA Filter for our daughters bedroom, as she suffers from severe allergies. Our goal was to pick up something that was quiet and effective, and that we could control remotely even when we are not in the room. We needed the filter to be quiet enough to not wake her up, and the Bluair Blue Pure 311i Max is absolutely perfect. We were able to get it opened up and setup in her room in about 10 minutes, including the time to download the app to both of our cell phones. From there we had everything up and running in just a few minutes and we are able to get this running a few hours before bedtime with ease! The filter is doing a great job, and we already notice less sneezing in the mornings. One of my favorite things is that the replacement filters for this are not crazy in price like some others! Overall I would definitely recommend picking up the 311i Max if you have a small to medium room you plan to use the filter in, and need something that has some more advanced features like the app which allows you to have remote access.

Modern air purifier that's actually quiet

I first used an air purifier a few years ago at my job where dust was a problem. It was small, but it helped a little, especially with my allergies. A few months ago, I pulled it out while I had a sinus infection and it helped slightly, but it's a very small unit and it just wasn't sufficient for my bedroom or living room. I wanted something bigger, and this Blueair Air Purifier showed me the difference a bigger unit can make. I knew this unit was bigger than the little one I have, but I could not believe the size of the box when it arrived - it's really big (almost 19 inches tall, 11 inches diameter). What is surprising is that even with it's large size, it's really lightweight. This is good because there is no handle or grip, so it takes two hands to pick it up. Of course, the most impressive feature at all is how quiet it is. They are not kidding! The air intake the side of the unit, which has an outer filter. This filter, which feels a little like a loose-weave fabric, and this is removeable and washable. The air comes out through the top. In the center of the top are the controls. These are buttons, but they are more like a touchscreen, as a light touch is all it takes to operate them. Blueair also has an app that can be used to control the unit as well. This is good because in an effort to minimize the buttons, there are a few functions that can be controlled with the buttons, or combinations of buttons, held for various amounts of time. In other words, if you don't want to use the app, expect to memorize some button combinations and/or "press and hold" times to control things like changing the LED brightness and child-lock. If you use the app, it is much easier to manage these controls, and even have greater control. Here are some of the great features of this air purifier: - Cleans the air of a large room in about 30 minutes - Clear labeling of the buttons which are easy to use due to their touchscreen-like sensitivity - Child-lock to prevent accidental changes to the settings - Washable outer filter and inner filter is less expensive than a lot of other brands - Air purifier notifies you when it's time to change the filter - Outer filter is washable - LED's are bright if you need them to be, but can be dimmed to the point of being off completely - Smart device app available for greater and easier control Here a couple of things I wish it had, or did differently: - No handle. It cannot be easily lifted or picked up with only one hand. - There is no timer (meaning no option for auto-shutoff after 1 hour, 2 hours, 4 hours, etc). It does have a schedule feature which I'll explain below. - I had trouble a couple of times getting it to reconnect to WiFi after unplugging it. When I moved it to another room, I sometimes had to disable and re-enable the WiFi feature to get it to connect. - Some features are only usable with the app (such as scheduling), and other features, like the LED brightness, require pressing combinations of buttons to adjust, which are not clearly labeled and can be tricky to memorize until you do. Using this air purifier with the app gives a few extra features, including being able to control multiple Blueair Air Purifiers (if you have more than one, and they don't have to be the same model). One that I particularly like is the fan speed. The unit has 3 fan speeds, which can be adjusted with the buttons and the LED will indicate the selected speed. However, if you change this in the app, it has a slider that allows you to adjust the speed anywhere between these levels, giving you the ability to fine-tune the speed. I really like this because I found that anywhere from the lowest setting to about 1.5 was barely audible to me. Speed 2 is where I could start really hearing the fan blowing. The unit contains a noise shield, which I believe makes quite a difference. Additionally, it seems to keep the fan noise at a lower pitch, which makes it more like a white noise and less disturbing in the background. It also has a "night" mode, which disables the LED's and turns it down to the lowest setting to essentially eliminate the noise, but if you sleep with a fan on at night, you can go higher than the night mode provides and your fan will likely drown out any noise from this unit. There is also an LED light on the side of the unit that is color-coded based on how clean your air is (5 levels), so this should change if the room air is "dirty". Mine measured clean from the start, so I haven't seen this yet, but opening the windows on a pollen-filled day, or an evening of a lot of cooking might be a different result. The app also shows this as well, with a graph to show how it has changed over time (assuming the unit is running). One feature I wish this model had was an auto-off mode. Instead, it has a schedule, which can only be programmed in the app. You can set multiple schedules right down to the minute. However, if you just turn the unit on, you have to manually turn it off, even if you create a schedule that puts the present time in the middle of that schedule. The scheduler only works if the unit can enter and exit that scheduled time without interference. The larger and more powerful (and therefore more effective) Blueair Air Purifier is a really good choice if you are using it in a larger space. It does not require the use of the app, but if you decide to download it onto your smart device, you will have a very easy time operating this unit. If you value less noise and do not feel the need to run the unit at max, this is the quietest air purifier I have ever used. Overall, highly recommended! -

We purchased this as we have 2 dogs and it's just inevitable that at some point the house has a dog smell (especially when they go out in the rain). That said, we just moved into a new home and in one of the spare rooms, there was a heavy paint/glue smell. We plugged this in, and it helped with the smell within a couple of hours. Great product.

My 2nd BlueAir Purifier, Better than the Last One

I chose the Blue Pure 311i Max to replace my older model BlueAir Filter. The new filter can connect to Wi-Fi for remote app control. The app seems to report the air quality on a chart, but so far, it's saying my existing air is "Excellent," which may be because it replaced the existing filter, which was also doing a decent job. However, some PM 2.5 was detected in the room (PM2.5 is "Fine particles", such as "fine dust, exhaust, bacteria, and pet dander"), so it's working already. The app controls Fan Speed (lower speeds are quieter/silent, higher speeds filter quicker), Automatic Mode, Night Mode (extra quiet and dimmed lights), and a child lock function. Of course, the app will tell you how much life is left in your filter as well - and yes, the device has a filter warning light on it; however, the app may let you know how close you are to that 'replace filter light' coming on. The app has a welcome home feature to filter the air as you get closer to home, but you have to make sure you give the app (1) background location permission, and (2) unrestricted battery (no optimization). My previous blue air filter did not have Wi-Fi features, so this is a nice upgrade. I will tell you immediately there is a different quality in the air and a different feel in the room on the first day of its running. I feel more relaxed (my skin even) in this room than before I replaced it. There was previously only one or two other places (outside the house, such as other businesses) where my skin had this relaxed feeling, probably because of good filtration there (I suspected). Now I have it at home. Time will tell if this remains true or if it's just like a placebo effect appearing because I was hoping for something like this. Most air filters work best in a room with closed windows because, with open windows, you are filtering outside air with an endless supply of allergens. In reality, most of us do occasionally open the windows, especially (in my case) in fall and spring (which may be the worst time for allergens) when temperatures outdoor are nicer. It's unclear if doing this will shorten the filter life. I chose this product after already owning another BlueAir purifier, because i was happy with the brand. This product is even better than my last one, and I recommend this especially if you have allergies,

If you are in need of a filter that has excellent auto detection, isn't too loud, and looks fairly good while sitting there? Here you go! Setup: to get the most out of this filter, you'll want to install the app. You can use it without it the app by using the buttons on the top of it, but to get the most out of it...get the app! The app is easy to set up. I already had another Blueair filter, so adding this one to my app was very easy. Following the instructions it only took a few minutes. Use: You can use this in manual mode, or automatic mode. In manual mode you set the fan speed and it just sits there and runs. In automatic mode, it senses particles in the air and adjusts fan speed as needed. This filter only senses one "type" of particle (which is basically smoke and actual small particles in the air). This overall works very well. There are some higher end filters that are able to detect multiple different types of particles, but they do cost much more. If you are using the app, you are able to see what the filter is sensing, and also change modes. You can also set schedules. This filter is in my bedroom, so I have it scheduled to go into "night" mode at, well, night. This turns off the LED's on the filter, and also sets the fan to its lowest speed. You are also able to buy different colors of "wraps" if you choose. They slip on and off the bottom (the gray part in the picture). Overall: This is a nice filter, and isn't too noisy even on its highest setting. I set it on auto mode during the day, and it seems to sense stuff very well. I burned some food cooking (which is on the floor below), and I went upstairs and it was on high working to clean the room. 30 or so minutes later, it was back down on low.
