The Bluear Blue Pure 411+ is a great Air Purifier. It works purfect in my Condo living room or bedroom with room capacity for 185 ft. It weighs just above 3lbs. and the sound level is quiet and is designed to have low energy consumption. The Blue Pure 411+ has increased Clean Air Delivery Rate over the older model. Of the 3 speed controls the number 2 speed control seems to work best for me. The Blueair also helps eliminate cooking odors faster. One button controls the unit with no adjustment and lets you know when its time to change the filter. I love that it has frabric pre-filter color options that can be washed and reused. Knowing that I am breathing fresh and clean air inside my home while working from home with the Blueair Pure Air 411+, gives me the satisfaction and safety I need in today's health concious world.

The design on this is very easy for kids to maintain. The fabric pre-filter slips on and off and can go into the clothes wash. You can get different colors for accenting. This thing is ultra quiet in the lowest setting, I had to get close to tell that the air was moving through it. The medium setting is still a low thrum noise, my kids like it as a white noise generator and they use that setting at night. The third and highest setting is loud like you would figure and moves a lot of air. I feel it does a good job in the kids bedroom at air filtering. I think it would also be a good choice for a small home office room or where kids are distance learning, it will not distract from video calls on the lowest setting, even sitting right next to the user.

Stylish and quiet filter for the bedroom

One of the many things I've learned this past year spent mostly indoors is that my dust allergies are far more annoying than I ever realized. As such I've been running an air filter in my bedroom/home office pretty much non-stop to try and stay out ahead of them. The Blueair Pure 411+ has proven to be a tremendous upgrade over the unit I was using for most of the year in just about every category.
In the box you get the filter itself, a few pages of instructions, and a pre-filter which is basically a large tube sock that you stretch over the intake. Getting it all set up was fairly painless, though it took a few tries to get everything perfectly arranged to get the seamless look they advertise on the box. The unit I got came with a gray cover that complemented the white finish nicely, though there are a variety of other colors available to fit your decor.
Once I'd gotten the filter set up at the foot of my bed and turned it to the lowest setting, the improvement over the old filter was immediately apparent. At the lowest setting the fan is truly whisper-quiet - I could barely hear it at all when laying in my bed. At level two it's closer to a white noise machine or a very small fan. It's only really at level three that it starts to make its presence known, at which point it also makes for a pretty passable fan for circulating air around the room. And in a particularly nice touch, the status light indicating the current fan speed dims to almost nothing after three seconds.
As far as actual filtration goes it seems pretty solid to me so far. My allergies have definitely improved, and a quick inspection of the filters showed that it is indeed catching a fair bit. Most of it does seem to be in the finer layers inside the unit, so I'm not entirely sure how much the washable pre-filter is actually catching, but it's possible that I just haven't been running it long enough to get much accumulation.

A Good Size, but Does It Work?

I’m pleased with the size of the unit. It’s unobtrusive and the white color is neutral against the wall and doesn’t stick out. I opted not to use one of the colored sleeves for the outside. Setup takes no time at all since it just plugs into the wall out of the box.
My biggest hangup is that there are no indicators to tell you if it’s actually working. An LED indicator or an app would be great. I use this unit in the bedroom to try to help with my wife’s allergies. We have a Dyson unit in the living room that displays the air quality, but there is no indication that this unit does anything.
It’s very quiet on the lowest setting, making almost no audible noise. The medium setting would make for a decent noise machine at night as well. The high setting turns this thing into a jet engine. Good for bad odors or pollutants probably. The power button is really hard to operate. There is no feedback from the button itself and the pressure spot seems to move around or change sensitivity.

I've been using the BlueAir 411+ Air Purifier for a couple weeks now and it's been an incredibly welcome addition to my household. We use air purifiers in our bedrooms to sleep, and we all the love the white noise they provide, but during the day, the main room of the house is where we spend most of our time, and while we'd love to have clean air, we'd prefer not to have a loud fan blowing throughout the day.
I set this purifier up in a room that's about 19' x 11', so just a bit larger than the max recommended size. Right away, I loved its style and form factor, and was impressed by the fit and finish of the parts. The capacitive touch button on top is nice to use, and couldn't be simpler. Tap once to turn the purifier on and again to increase the fan, up to level 3. A final tap turns the unit off.
We live in the Pacific Northwest, which has had some troubles with forest fires in recent years. We've suffered through many days of hazy outside air, and it seems like the smoke seeps through every door and window crack. It's not fire season now, but judging by the performance of this machine so far, I'm looking forward to having much cleaner indoor air, should we suffer another hot, dry summer.
So far, I've been very impressed by how quickly this machine can clear cooking smells and smoke from things like bacon and stir fries. We usually have trouble with smoky air hanging around the kitchen and living room after cooking, and with this purifier, those problems get cleared up quickly, even at the lowest fan speed.
The one thing I'd say is watch out if you have curious and rambunctious kids! My 5 year-old has loved turning the fan on, up, and off, over and over again. I think the machine is sturdy enough to handle some abuse, but I have my fingers crossed that he'll decide to leave the dang thing alone soon!

Does the job!

The Blueair 411 is an air purifier that does the job it's designed for, and does it well, with only a couple of small caveats.
The first caveat is it's a rather large machine that can be difficult to place. I decided to use mine in my master bedroom. The square footage is right at what is recommended by the manufacturer. With three children and a pet there's usually plenty of unwanted things in the air, so I wanted something that made the air in my personal space just a little cleaner.
There are three speed settings. I typically keep it on the lowest setting--it's not very loud so I can sleep without issue, and does the job for everyday use. I'll use the middle setting if the room is feeling 'musty' and only use the top setting for a particularly bad smell or when I'm cleaning and kicking up a lot of dust. The setting works well, but is so loud you genuinely can't do much of anything else while it's going.
After a couple of weeks the filter is already picking up an alarming amount of dust and pet hair, so it's definitely working. Blueair recommends changing the filter every 6 months, or more if necessary. I think I will likely fall into the 'necessary' category, but I'm going to wait for the filter indicator light to come on and see how bad it looks then.
The filters aren't terribly expensive overall, but when compared to the price of the product they're still 15-20% of the overall cost, which seems steep. Fortunately there are other manufacturers making replacements for half the cost of the Blueair filter that are likely just as effective (or at least close). I'm sure they aren't recommended by Blueair, of course, but might be worth checking out.
Overall I'm pleased with this air purifier so far--the air feels cleaner and smells do not seem to linger as long as they used to, it's just a little awkward to place, and could get pricey if you have to replace the filter very often. If you're in need of a product like this in a room the size recommended or smaller, then I recommend it-- so long as you have a spot for it.

My husband has severe cedar allergies and recently the pollen count was off the charts in our area. We placed the Blueair purifier next to our bed each night and he was able to sleep through the night without congestion/sneezing/etc. The purifier is quiet and powerful.

Noisy but Aesthetically Pleasing

The Blueair Pure 411 is aesthetically pleasing small room air purifier with a removeable filter. It is pretty easy to get going, just plug it in and press the power button. The washable pre-filter is a fun feature that allows you to add your own personal touch, swapping for different colors to coordinate with the room.
The purifier fit well in all the rooms in my home and did a good job cleaning the air. While the purifier is silent on the lowest settings, the jump in noise between the next two levels is pretty significant. In a larger room, I didn't experience any interference but can foresee the noise on those settings being an issue for things like zoom calls.
In all, I'm pleased with the design and performance and would recommend to a friend.

This unit is very easy to setup and use. The fan noise is tolerable and if you need to really clean your room you can run on high. I have an allergy for pet dander so this is why I got this unit. It has helped me with my allergy issue as typically in the morning I would wake with allergy issues and now I don't due to I believe this running all night while I am sleeping. I can't tell how clean the air is as I do not have a meter to test but it has helped my sinus's if feel after having used it for about a month. I am looking at purchasing a larger one and maybe a few more room ones to clean my entire house and other bedrooms.

It works as expected. The highest setting is a bit loud, but I can’t see using that very often. The lower settings are reasonable volume. It is nice to have an outer filter to be able to vacuum or take off and wash to catch some of the larger particles. I didn’t realize it was supposed to go on the floor and I was concerned about the dog messing with it, but it has been fine.

The air purifier was very easy to set up. Only a few steps, insert the filter, then pull the pre-filter fabric over the purifier. It was ready to go. I use this purifier in my bedroom and I can truly say that I now sleep longer and I'm not stuffy when I awake. Highly recommend.

Fresh rooms and closets

My main reason to get the Blue Pure 411+ was to reduce the musky smell upstairs. Mainly. I've had it running for a week 24hrs a day and I notice a fresher smell and no sniffles the day after - some of the musky smell has to be caused by an allergen that my face hates and this week I spent in my man cave I didn't have to pop an allergy pill the next day.
After the room test I now have it in a closet to help freshen it and remove any spores and such. I have it on low so the job will take longer than my upstairs test but there's almost no sound at setting 1. Upstairs I had it in setting 2 which went from a gentle breeze sound to a small hair dryer being turned on. That would be my only issue, that there's no setting in between silent and hair dryer.
Once it's done in the closet I'll put it back upstairs and keep it on low and see if it maintains the allergen filtering. I'm really impressed and had doubts an air filter could improve a room.

Eye appealing design But...

Eye appealing design but.....
1) Unhappy with the calibration and spacing of the 3 fan speed intensities. In purchasing both the 411+ and 311-auto directly from BlueAir, my complaint is similar for both models. The company boasts quiet operation which is true on speed 1. The reason the first setting is so quiet is it offers minimal air flow. This setting is so gentle, I question its ability to move and clean the air. From there, users increase to speed 2 which does offer a noticeable increase in the amount of air flow. However, you then jump directly to the next setting of speed 3 (which is the final and maximum fan speed setting). Transitioning from speed 2 to 3 is like going from a steady breeze to a Hurricane. The spacing of the fan speed choices makes it feel like all or nothing.... from one extreme to another. Either increase your baseline and make speed 1 more meaningful while adjusting the intensity between each of the remaining speeds or offer additional fan speed choices. This would allow users to increase air flow in smaller increments to meet their needs.
2) Warranty - when registering your product, BlueAir does offer a two year warranty. However, with the various brands I have owned over a 15 year period, at least two competitors have offered a 5 year warranty. Increasing your warranty does signify your confidence in product quality !

Thank you for reviewing your air purifier. Please understand for optimal use we do recommend running your air purifier only on the highest setting for the first 24 hours of usage. After that initial period we recommend turning the machine down to fan speed 1 and running continuously for low noise and consistent clean air.

I got this to use in my home gym to help with the Oder left in the air from a good workout. I don't have a large space so this size is perfect. It is slim and really not noticeable in the room. It has 3 speeds on it i use the 1st speed witch is low and quite 3 is a little loud more then i would like it to be. it has not timer on it so if you forget it's on it will run all day. It comes with a pre-filter sleeve has has different colors to match a room. So far this product has worked great just wish it had some type of timer on it and a little soft sound.
