I have since purchased a better, but more expensive brand and could tell the quality in the air within a few hours.

Please rest assured that all of our purifiers are rigorously tested and have their CADR (Clean Air Delivery Rate) verified by AHAM, The Association of Home Appliances, an independent testing organization considered to be the gold standard for determining the safety and performance of air purifiers. Provided that it was in a space of the appropriate square footage or smaller, your 411 Auto would have absolutely been removing airborne pollutants from your home's air.

Doesnt work for pet oders.

I have a dog that within 2 days of a bath smells like dog again. I thought this might help keep the house from adopting that dog smell, but it hasnt changed it at all. I can say however that I haven't been sick since I got it a couple months ago. Perhaps it does work for germs, where it lacks in eliminating oders.

The big sell on this item is the "auto" feature -- to be honest, it never budges from the "low" setting when it's in auto. I also have a Shark air purifier in another room that seems to fluctuate a lot more, but maybe the air is just much cleaner in my bedroom than my livingroom. Either way, for the money I can't really complain.
