I've never had an air purifier before though I've thought about getting one. I placed this in my bedroom where there seems to be a tendency to attract dust at a higher than expected rate. As I have never used one of these before, I had no idea how to use one. I would have liked an instruction manual instead of having the information printed on the outside of the box. However, this unit appears to be fairly simple to use and the indicator light is interesting when it progresses from red to yellow to blue indicating air quality (from polluted to best). I have found that sniffles are less frequent after using this for about five days now and opening the bedroom door and walking in does have a different smell. I will be experimenting with the placement of the unit after this review to see what effect that has on efficiency and results, but right now I have it near my bed and the unit even at its most "aggressive" setting hasn't kept me awake - almost a white noise machine like quality to the sound. I do like the look of this unit and it appears to be very well priced for using in a bedroom to make that air the best that you can have. As I have not had an air purifier before, I have no comparison on how this competes against others, but it does work and the price-point is competitive.

I have never had a lot of faith in air purifiers - between the idea that I'm relying on something I can see to remove something I can't, and the ongoing expense that comes with ownership, it just hasn't been a big must-have for me. That being said, I'm very glad that I changed my mind and took a chance on this Blueair unit. My laundry room is also my cat litter box room, and with two cats around it's never the easiest place to breathe fresh air. I selected this unit from Blueair because it would be a good fit for the space and seemed easy to operate. Within a day of running the unit on medium I could tell a SIGNIFICANT difference in the smell/air quality. Operation is very simple and it's definitely a set it and forget it type of device. I am not completely sure what the replacement costs for filters will look like, but I know that the initial performance of the unit will make it worthwhile for me.

it is quiet and works as advertised. it does not favor sausage and cabbage aromas...works harder.

This air filter does exactly what it is designed to do. I may order another one or two!

This air purifier has made a huge difference! We have a dog with skin issues, which not only creates a terrible smell but also impacts our allergies. This small but mighty ap has eliminated his smell and made a difference in our allergy issues. Highly recommend!!

I loved my daughter’s 411 so I bought one of my own. I have only had it about two weeks and the change filter light is already orange. Is something wrong with it? Was my air THAT dirty? Why is it needing a filter change so soon?
