Beneficial cleaning air in my room - very quiet
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So I always had a thought of having a clean air purifier to rid my room of dust, some pollen and allergens especially during the allergy season which I have bad reactions of just runny eyes and heavy sneezing, and some asthma. Sometimes I find it hard to breathe and wake up. This unit, does somewhat to help, from coming outside of the home and then resting. The unit, is somewhat big but very light so there's no struggle to carry this whatsoever. It is to be placed on the ground floor but elevating it with a small short table that can accommodate the area of the base would be fine - since there's several small feet at the bottom which helps with hard surface floors. Comes with detailed instruction manuals; English and a separate one for different languages. Says how to wash the pre filter through the washer, and instructions on replacing the inner filter. Guide says an estimated every 6-9 months. Seeing this model is the "411a" and being on the manufacturer page of replacement filters, I see some for 411 and 411+ but not a 411a, though they look similar I'd think that filter would fit -particle and carbon filter for $24 and a smoke block one for $31; seems reasonable pricing to me and not much. $48 on replacement filters on average a year seems worth it for a clean aired room. It's mostly silent and I have it on auto mode. I have seen it steady blue and then goes from green, yellow green and to orange one day when I was doing sweeping and moving around stuff in the kitchen which is way down the hallway; of course a dusty environment and I may have brought that with me when I came in my room to rest. This is currently one the floor near my bed, away from the window. This model does NOT support using a remote app from your smartphone however, which I think it should but there's another model that supports that being the + model I think. I'm not sure the effect of energy usage when the electric bill comes, but it's energy star certified. I could bring that lower if I switched to night-time mode going to sleep. But its been on auto and usually I haven't noticed anything yet being woken up with this being on full power yet (which it will be that time to replace the filter). I haven't yet come to trying to remove/change the outer pre-filter nor the inner filter which is when I'll wait around 6 months for - but as the instructions point out and even instructional vids on their website (QR codes on the manuals and brochures), this will be easy. This is a great filter whom especially has the need to keep the air clean due to asthma and allergies.

It measures 18.9 X 10.6 X 10.6 in and 7.5lbs. The build quality is good. It uses advanced machine learning to adjust based on the environment like pollutant levels, fan speed and usage time. Excellent filter, very quiet
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is an excellent air filter with two main strengths -- it's automatic and it's really quiet. There are 4 fan settings, but you really only need to set it to Automatic, because it uses its own built-in sensor to detect the room's PM 2.5 air quality status (which shows up as different colors on the status light), and adjusts the fan setting until the air quality reverts to "Excellent." When the air quality is Excellent, the filter is so quiet, it's easy to forget it's even running. When the air quality is lower, the fan does go higher, so it's more noticeable, but even when it's working hardest, it's still a fairly gentle whir. It was easy to test the sensor by using it in the kitchen -- the air quality sensor detected increased particles in the air while cooking. I also noticed the filter working a little harder on a day when we had the windows open and the pollen count was high. The filter is strong enough to cover 219 sq ft, which is about the size of a one car garage -- quite adequate for a moderate-sized room like a master bedroom. The exterior design is quite pleasing, with a soft fabric wrapping that makes it look like a stylish smart speaker from Google, Sonos, or Ikea. It's a little bigger than an office wastebasket, so it won't dominate a room. The manual is very clear and well laid-out. Overall, an excellent choice for an air filter!

Powerful air filter!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The BlueAir Air Purifier 411i Max is a high-quality air purifier designed to clean the air in small to medium-sized rooms. It comes equipped with a HEPA filter that can remove up to 99.97% of airborne particles, including dust, pollen, pet dander (important for me), smoke, and mold spores. The BlueAir Air Purifier also has a number of other features that make it a great choice for home use, including three fan speeds, an “Auto” mode that automatically adjusts the fan speed based on the level of air pollution detected in the room, a “Night" mode that reduces the noise level during sleep hours, and can be controlled using an App! The BlueAir Air Purifier 411i Max has been one of the best choices we’ve made to improve the air quality in our home. It’s effectively eliminated pet dander and dust from our home. Being a rural area often leads to excess allergens in the air, but having this in our living room has made a huge difference by eliminating smells and keeping us mostly allergy free. The purifier is also surprisingly quiet, with the fan only really heard at the top speed. The app is also easy to use, and once paired to the device you can control most of the features without the need to walk over to the air purifier. The design also fits well with our decor, making it feel like it’s been there all along. The included Air Filter can last up to 6 months, is easy to remove, and we haven’t had any issues acquiring another filter. Overall, the BlueAir Air Purifier 411i Max is a wonderful choice for anyone who wants to improve the air quality in their home, has pets, or is otherwise battling allergens on an near daily basis. It is effective, very quiet, was easy to use and just works with minimal adjustment required.

Simple - Elegantly Modern Air Purifier
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've never owned an air purifier before, but I want clean air. We all want clean air. So when I had the opportunity to get this Blue Pure 411a Max HEPASilent air purifier, I was excited for the opportunity. Was my excitement rewarded on receipt? Yes. It comes nicely packaged and fully ready to plug in and turn on. It is, I must admit larger than I expected, but it matches our interior colors in gray and white. It has a nice modern aesthetic and it's unbelievably QUIET. I mean, its so quiet I have to put my head up to it, to know its actually working. So, how does it work? Great, is one word which comes to mind. This purifier is designed to quickly clean the air in a 219 square foot room in 12.5 minutes or a room up to 526 square feet in 30 minutes. We've chosen to put this in our bedroom, which is smaller, so the air is being cleaned quickly. Blueair tested the performance to have a Clean Air Delivery Rate (CADR) of 141 for fine particulates (dust, pollen, smoke, etc.). It uses what they call HEPASilent dual filtration. The outside of the purifier has a pre-filter fabric surrounding it, which is washable. Inside the filer is the HEPA filter, which Blueair recommends replacing every 6 - 9 months. Operating the purifier couldn't be simpler. Press the power button and it's on. You have the option to set it to Auto Mode or Night Mode, or you can choose from three speeds (1, 2, 3). There is an indicator light to let you know when it's time to change the filter, which will shine red. And you can adjust the brightness of the control lights by pressing the fan speed selector button AND the power button at the same time for 3 seconds, then keep your finger on the power button and tap the fan selector till you arrive at the desired brightness you prefer. The front of the unit has an LED Light, which apparently doesn't adjust its brightness, but it does tell you the unit is on and what the Air Quality status is. Light Blue is excellent. Dark Blue is Good. Yellow is Moderate. Orange is Polluted. And Red is Very Polluted. There really isn't much else to know. Plug this puppy in. It cleans the air, via the most awarded air purifier brand in the US, something Blueair proudly claims. Finally, rest easy knowing you're breathing clean and pure air in your home. It just doesn't get easier or better than this. No, it doesn't!

Whisper quiet
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had a few room air filters in my life and I have to say this is one of the best yet. Taking the unit out of the box, I really like the fact that it was very minimalistic. You had 2 piece of carton, a small user manual and the filter itself wrapped in an easy to remove bag. I really dislike products that is wrapped so tight that I need several tools just to get it out. Plus, I keep thinking about all that wrapping having to go into the dump somewhere. Anyways, I digress. I set up the unit in my living room and found it to be a little on the larger size (I inserted a photo with it next to a 16 oz water bottle). Now, the other filters I had, were big appliances imo, but still able to set somewhere discreet. This one had to be left on the floor for sure but I thought it looked attractive enough where it didn't look ugly. As for it's use, I absolutely love how the noise level on this air filter. On nightmode, you can barely hear it. I can even see it helping with falling asleep because of that faint white noise. Level 1 is just a little big louder than nightmode, level 2 sounds like the lowest setting on any house fan and level 3 is noticeable in a very quiet room but with a tv or music on, you won't even notice it. But this doesn't mean it doesn't push out air, all you have to do is get near it and feel it. It also has an auto feature which will cycle the unit on and off with a preset pm of 2.5. That's what the instruction says, I don't know what that means LOL. Instructions also states that the filter is washable which I think is awesome. No need in buying replacements. The brightness of the light can be changed as well which I'm sure is needed for anyone leaving it in their bedroom. Blueair air filter is a winner and a definite buy.

Simply, quiet and makes a difference
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is regarding the Blueair 411a HEPASilent Small Room Bedroom Air Purifier. It is a nice size and looks elegant in the bedroom. This says it takes 30 minutes to clean 525 sq. ft. or about half that time for room sized 219 sq. ft. which I think is pretty quick. It’s simple to use. Just plug it in. It only has 2 simple controls, the on/off and fan speed where you can choose one of the four. This is small and though only has 2 controls, it offers so many options and benefits, like the child lock feature, night time option. A noise shield is part of it too. Even the highest fan speed, I was able to sleep as it wasn’t too loud. One of the things I like about this air purifier is that it gives you the status of the air quality clearly. The status shows 5 different indicators by colors from starting from Excellent to Very Polutted. It is so clear to see the colors right in front of the air purifier there’s no way to miss it. I tested this out and took it to the small area in the basement and it changed from blue/excellent while in my room to orangejj/polutted in that part of the basement. I should have timed how long it took, but I didn’t think of it untill afterwards. But by bedtime, I went downstairs to bring the air purifier back to my room and the status light had changed from polluted to excellent and the that area did “feel” cleaner to me. That was great to see that it actually worked and made a difference in a short time. Another plus is that the the pre-filter fabric can be washed and cleaned. It came with the filter already installed but reading the manual, seems pretty quick and easy to replace when needed.

Good cleaning at reasonable price
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We own a Honeywell 50250 and this 411am Blueair. It's not a totally fair comparison because the HW is supposed to clean 100 more sq ft. The Blue is quieter, it's much more attractive to look at. It has a night time setting and an automatic setting that is more advanced than our older HW. The hardest things with all air purifiers is that it gets harder and harder to find the actual air filter, that is the problem with our HW. I hope Blue continues to make their actual filters available to customers. Overall I think it does a good job for the price point. Pay attention to the sq foot capability as the more you spend up front the more space it will clean! We have onluy owned this for a few months, so not sure how it will last longer term. HW is long lasting machine.

Best Air Purifier for beginners
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a good air purifier for beginners in my opinion. I have allergies (specifically to dust and dust mite) and it has reduced the amount of dust in my room and smell flawlessly. Considering getting another one. If you don’t know where to start I would highly recommend this one as it has different settings. The lighting can be adjusted if you feel like it’s too bright and best of all has an air quality light to let you know how bad the air quality of the room is because of a specific thing you did automatically.

Works well, good value
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had several blueair products. This one hits the sweet spot for 200 Sq ft space and relieves my allergy symptoms! Recommend that you get a second fabric prefilter so you can get uninterrupted filtering when it is time to wash the prefilter. Depends on dust load, but 60 to 90 days to change pre filter works for us.

Nice looking, well-designed air purifier!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Blueair - Blue Pure 411a Max Air Purifier is a nice looking unit that fits in easily with most decor and does a great job purifying the air in the room. After testing it out and running it for a few days, following are the pros and cons I found for this air purifier. Pros: - As I mentioned, it is a nice looking unit that will fit in well with most decor. You can actually get multiple different color options for the pre-filter that wraps around the outside of it to customize the color to your room also. - The pre-filter captures large particles and pet hair before it gets to your filter underneath. The pre-filter can be vacuumed or easily taken off and washed. - The filters are very easy to change. - The air flows in all around the entire unit, so I feel it will do a better job than purifiers that might only have vents on one or two sides. - It has 3 fan speeds, plus a nighttime mode and an auto setting. - It has a noise shield. Overall, I found the sound to be very quiet. The only time I hear it is on the highest level setting if the room is quiet, but much quieter that some other purifiers I have heard. - On nighttime mode, the lights dim and the unit goes on the lowest fan speed to reduce sound to the point where you can't really tell if it is even on. You can also dim the lights manually, if you prefer to set it at a higher fan speed while you sleep. The higher speeds can act like white noise when you are sleeping. - There is an Air Quality Status detector, which is a particle sensor that measures the fine particles (PM 2.5) level. There is a status indicator LED light for this detector with five different colors to show excellent air quality to very polluted. It is interesting to watch, as when you spray something in the air, it will turn colors to show the pollutant and when set on Auto it will increase the fan speed. It doesn't take it very long to do its thing and clean the air and pretty soon the color changes back to excellent and the fan speed slows down again. - This unit has a child lock feature also, to prevent them from changing the settings. - All settings for this unit are done with a two-button control. - I feel like this unit is doing an excellent job at purifying the air in my room. I have a dog and the air seems to be much cleaner and I don't smell the dog as much now that I have been running this unit. Cons: - The only con I can think of for this model is that it does not come with WIFI connectivity that would allow you to set a schedule on an App. Overall, I really like this unit. It looks good and is simple to operate, and you can visibly see it working when the air is polluted. It has really cut down on dog smells in our house too.

Good things come in small packages!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Blue Pure 411a is a no-frills air purifier whose compact design and modern, neutral aesthetic both enable it to fit in well with a variety of decor styles. With simple controls and easily replaceable filters, this is an air purifier well-suited for individuals who want a set-it-and-forget-it device for a smaller room. I can see this in particular working well for people who live alone in an apartment, students in a dorm room, for use in children's rooms, or for use in a small office. This wouldn't work in most master bedrooms (which average just above what this little air purifier is rated for) or for larger areas such as common spaces. I particularly liked how easy this device is to use and set up. The unit is also light and can be moved around effortlessly. Another big positive for this device is the included washable fabric pre-filter which serves both an aesthetic function, as it comes in an array of colors that can act as accents against the neutral greys and whites of the purifier, and a practical function as well, extending the life of the HEPA filters. This air purifier is fairly quiet at its lower settings and nearly silent at its lowest ones, which is another perk. A potential drawback is that this particular model is not compatible with the Blueair app like newer models are. App functionality seems fairly limited, though, and not everyone wants their devices to be "smart" so this is more of a personal preference than a true deficit of the device. More detrimental to its function is its minimal controls. Having two buttons for controls can be convenient, but it can also make it a slog to cycle through options and make controls less intuitive (how, for instance, do you adjust the LED indicator light brightness? You'd have no clue you have to press and hold both buttons and cycle through the Fan button options unless you'd read the manual). This isn't a major flaw by any means and I understand why this is the way the controls are laid out, but I do feel that if there had to be a compromise in minimalized controls to achieve the cleaner look of the device and maintain the ease of use, then having app connectivity to restore a fuller set of controls would have been a more user-friendly approach than requiring users to fall back on clunky, unintuitive ways of interacting with the controls. Granted, this is extremely nitpicky and in daily use, this is not even close to an issue. In all, this is a fantastic air purifier with little to complain about. Unlike larger air purifiers that can be unattractive or difficult to find space for in a room, the Blue Pure 411a Max would fit well almost anywhere while still getting the job done in style, and that versatility is such a huge strength.

Stylish, Functional, A Great Air Purifier
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I suffer from chronic allergies and sinus issues, so air purifiers are a must in my home. Every room has an air purifier, and I have taken a liking to Blueair for them. I have the big boy version in the living room that cleans up to 550 sq ft but needed something smaller for the bedroom where I sleep at night. That is where the Blue Pure 411a comes in! Upon unboxing the air purifier, the design is sleek, stylish, and fits in with my decorum. Using the air purifier is quite easy, plug it in, press the power button, and choose the mode you want. It has automatic mode (what I use during the day) night mode for sleeping, and manual speeds of 1-3. Fan speed 3 is what I use when I sleep as I use it for white noise as well, and it provides enough noise, but it is still shockingly quite quiet even at the maximum level. I really appreciate that you are able to dim the lights on the air purifier for night time use without the use of night mode, because as I mentioned, I sleep with it on level 3, but the lights were quite bright. Luckily the feature is easy to use, hold the power and fan button for 3 seconds then tap the fan mode to lower the brightness. I did a test by blowing smoke into the bedroom and closing the door and seeing how fast the air purifier would clean the room back to normal air. It took about 11 minutes and you would never be able to tell there was smoke in the room, no odors, no haze, just clean air. I am very amazed how fast and well it purifies the air!! Better than other products I have used in the past. The filters that Blueair uses are also very high quality (expensive) but only need to be replaced every 6 months+. I am sold on this brand for future air purifiers as these are the best looking, and best functioning.

Decent air purifier
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Works ok in a 500 square foot room/kitchen and living room. Great air purifier
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This air purifier by BlueAir retails for about $140 usd. It stands about 19 inches tall and is 11 inches wide and deep. Its kind of big but small enough to keep out of the way. I started to feel like the air was much cleaner and crisper in the room that I have it installed within 2 days. It runs pretty quiet so I always forget that its in the room. It comes with several modes and fan speeds. Plus, it has a timer installed. That way you you can leave it on as long as you want. There is a filter included and the instructions say that it will last about 6-9 months depending on how long you use it for. There is a light that will indicate that it needs to be changed. This air purifier is pretty simple to use and I and I can tell it started to work within and hour. Honestly, this air purifier is so simple to use. Pretty much, all you have to do is plug is in and turn it on. A couple pushes of the buttons to set the mode and fans and you're set. I would highly recommend this air purifier to anyone that has allergies and sensitive to dust.
