    Buy it for air purification

First off, this Blueair fan is expensive, so the only reason to purchase it is to clean and purify the air in your room. If that’s not your main reason to purchase a fan, there are much cheaper alternatives out there. Saying that, if you ARE looking to clean the air, this would be a very good choice. The purification system consists of a HEPA main filter and nylon pre-filter. Looking at the back of the unit after a few weeks, you can easily see all the dust and ‘gunk’ collected by the pre-filter. The good news is the pre-filter is easily washed or vacuumed and Blueair gives you a second pre-filter with the unit, so that you can be washing the first one while the unit is working with the second, blue colored pre-filter provided. The main filter is not washable and should be replaced every six months. The fan also has a filter indicator to also tell you when the lifetime of the filter has been reached. Blueair has a filter subscription program to make it easy to remember to change the main filter. A cool feature of this model of Blueair’s Pure Fan series is that this one has many ‘automatic’ features, hence the “auto” in its name. The unit has three fan speeds. You can put it in “auto” mode where the fan will control air speed based on its sensor’s information about your room’s air quality. On the front of the fan is a bright LED indicator which will give your information about your air quality. It shines either Blue, Orange, or Red. And don’t worry about the light disturbing your sleep, the fan has a ‘night’ mode, which dims the LED lights and keeps the fan on ‘low.’ The fan is well built and attractive. My wife appreciated the four rubber feet at the base, she’s always worried about furniture scratching our new hardwood floor. Not a problem with this fan. Bottom line, if you’re worried about air quality, this fan is a good choice. I’ve read where many people in the western United States, concerned about air from the wildfires are happy with this fan.

Perfect fan and filter in one, only issue was a bent filter pre-installed. Otherwise, works great and replaces two items in our guest room with one.

I own more than a few BlueAir products. Why? Because once you start using an air purifier it's hard to go back - you will be amazed at the difference. In short, they work and you can literally smell the difference. The Blue Air Fan takes what is about the size of the BlueAir 211 and turns it sideways in a really stylish design. This is the FIRST Air Purifier where my partner actually liked the design. So if you're after a purifier that looks more like a funky Swedish retro speaker, this is for you. The fan can be set to different speeds, as well as an auto and night mode. Night mode is the lowest setting but also turns off the air quality light (useful if you're using this in a bedroom). Auto automatically adjusts to the air quality of your room. I switch between Auto and Night as I primarily use it as a purifier. In terms of being a fan. The BlueAir is a good but not great fan. At high speeds, it works and you can't fault it - but being fixed and low to the ground, it's more what I would call an air circulator rather than a fan. Don't get me wrong, you can feel the fan just it is more gentle than a typica fan. Would I recommend the BlueAir Fan? Yes. It's better looking and more practical than the other purifiers, as you can feel the cool air. Is it a replacement for a pedestal fan? Probably not - but it's a great addition to a room and for the gentle breeze and purified air, worth the price. BTW. This is not a smart device. It's all button controls on the top and there is no remote. I do wish it had a remote, just so you could adjust between speeds, auto and night mode at a distance (but that just makes me sound lazy). PS. Prepare to be a little disgusted when you change the filter every 6 months or so, you will be shocked at how much dirt was in the air.

We have been using this Blueair purifying fan in our bedroom for a couple weeks, and it had been excellent. The design is really neat and the performance is awesome. Setup is simple and should just take a couple of minutes. It comes with 2 pre filters which are easy to install. The air is noticeably cleaner since using this air purifier. Also, operation is quiet unless you have the fan on a higher setting. We like the white noise in our room so we have it set to a higher setting and it has been great! If you are looking for a great air purifying fan, with a different look, then I certainly recommend this fan for you!

    Good purifier but weaker airflow

Pro: -Quiet on low Con: -Higher noise to airflow ratio -Take up more space It’s a good purifier that provides a nice breeze. It’s set up in a small bedroom and the air smells fresher. It does take up a bit of space, about a foot deep and needs to be placed to allow airflow. The noise to airflow ratio is not as good as a standard table fan. On low, it’s really quiet but the airflow is so low that you have to be within an arm’s length to feel it. On medium, the noise ramps up, but when compared to a similar size fan with the same level of noise, the airflow is much lower. On high, it’s loud enough to hear it throughout the house. Though the airflow is less, it’s not as turbulent so it’s a softer breeze. It has an auto mode to detect the air quality, but it will stay on low most of the time. This is a good way to have both a fan and a purifier in the room, even if it’s at a lower airflow.

I generally just keep this air purifier/fan on auto; it seems pretty effective at keeping the air in my office feeling fairly clear. There are times when the fan kicks into high gear and it tends to correspond with some other activity that sends stuff into the air - so I know the purifier is working and working well. It's a relatively small, boxy unit. This works well for the purifier part, but not as effective for the fan part. At its highest level, the far does cool things down, but it doesn't seem as effective as single-purpose tower fans, for instance. At its lowest setting, the fan is so silent I almost forget it's there. The highest setting is definitely much louder, but that's to be expected. Overall this is a pretty nice fan and air purifier, with its stronger function being the latter. It's also pretty attractive!

I really like this fan / air purifier, it is a device that works really well and looks really cool. Out of the box the unit was simple to put together and button controls were easy to understand. I am continually surprised at how much air this little fan puts out as compared to the actual fans we have in the house that are larger. The design is strong, light, and feels exceptionally well crafted. We try to keep a clean house, but we have teenagers and a couple of house dogs. The smells, dust, and dander are quite noticeable at times though. We placed this unit in the primary bedroom and have seen a significant decrease in the amount of time spent dusting and I would honestly say even our vacuum canister is not as full from the bedroom as of late. The filters are about $24 each to replace (recommend about every 6 months) so not terrible at all and makes buying the replacement filter not such an undertaking. For me, I tend to not buy replacement filters promptly due to cost. The sock definitely contributes to the prolonged life of the replaceable filter. After just a couple of days I pulled it off for cleaning because of how much dust it had collected already. I used to have a fan in the corner of our room because I wanted a fan blowing on me at night. It seems though as I have gotten older, I have had to keep moving the fan farther away from me at night because the next day my eyes are always super dry and irritated. But I cannot sleep comfortably without the air movement and noise. So now it sits halfway across the room. However, with the Blue Air Pure fan I literally have the fan less than 10 feet from my face at night. I am able to have the noisy & cool air of a fan blowing but without any side effects. I would highly recommend to anyone on the basis of performance and style.

The Blueair - Pure Fan Auto Cooling + Purifying is great for adding a cooling breeze to a room in your home or office, making it more comfortable in very little time. The fan is quiet, therefore it will not disturb you if you are on calls or watching television. You’d hardly know it was in the room if you didn’t look at it. I love that you can view the quality of the air directly on the unit, using the AQI on the top of the fan. The room generally smells fresher, the air seems cleaner while this fan is on. I have a dog that sheds, meaning pet dander is everywhere. Especially in carpeted areas. However, after a short while of running this fan in my office I notice a considerable difference in the air quality. The particles that might irritate your nose or throat are cleared up. It’s really remarkable. There are multiple settings so you can easily find the level that makes you most comfortable. Best of all, the fan supports areas of over 300 sqft, making it great for setting the fan in a corner of a living room or seating area. The fan is really light, making it mobile and easy to move around your home. Yet, it’s also very sturdy. It doesn’t fall over, even on carpet and isn’t easily tipped over when walking by it. Overall I think this is a great fan. I plan to get a few more as they work great for bedrooms when you don’t want to run the AC. I’d highly recommend the Blueair Pure Fan. Do yourself a favor and improve the quality of the air in your home. You’ll be amazed at the difference.

    Interesting New Filtered Air Entry

Blueair has been making some of the best air filtration systems on the market and they produce a whole range of devices that are designed for use in spaces from small personal spaces all the way up to filtration devices for huge industrial settings filled with potentially dangerous fumes and smoke. Their device quality is surely rooted in the quality of the filters themselves, but most of their devices, including this one, also contain some internal intelligence that controls air flow to react to perceived degradation of air quality. This new entry is curious because they are marketing the device as a fan that filters - and they are really coming after Dyson. It is conceptually quite simple: a whisper-quiet room fan which also uses electrostatic and physical filtration systems to aggressively remove common household allergens like dust, pollen, and pet dander. Designed in Sweden, this is actually a very attractive unit as well (with the same kind of vibe as products typically found in that famous huge store from Sweden). Blueair publishes extensive specs for everything they make so there is no need to wonder about even minute details about their products - and in all categories of space protection, they are always ranked at the top. This is a serious company that is committed to quality and I have nothing but the strongest recommendation for their new fan-centered offering.

    Good Movement

The fan does a good job moving the air. The filter is doing a really impressive job so far. I can tell a difference in the air in my office in just one weeks time. Setting the fan on anything higher than 1 or auto and the fan is no longer whisper quiet. I am dropping a star for that. The difference in air movement on 2 and 3 settings is considerable. But the loudness makes it unusable in a smaller room. It sounds like a jet engine on anything above 1. The night mode is also very silent and the lights are dimmed in this mode. Now to be fair, the need to go above 1 is probably very low unless you are working in a very hot stuffy room that needs more than just a fan to cool it down. The air movement on 1 is almost unnoticeable, in a good way, the movement is not direct at you but angled so the air flow through the room is considerably different. Overall I like the fan for what I need it for, keep the air circulating in my office without feeling like I am in a cyclone. In a bedroom this would also be very nice to keep the air moving without it blowing directly on you. Especially with the night mode that dims the lights.

Wow, this fan has a secret. It can purify the air it is able to send out and just looks cool doing it. This is a piece for a modern room that families will love. It is strong enough to make an impact but it does not move so it can only blow air in one direction. It is quiet enough you can use it in a room at night. It was interesting, I think most people get an air purifier and end up trying to also use it as a fan of some sort but this is the fan that can clean the air and cool you down at the same time. It may not be the most budget friendly but otherwise it is a great fan that delivers and has presence. I have a feeling this will be part of my bedroom decore for many years.

I’m loving my new Blueair cooling + purifier. I love how pretty quite it is I think it’s an excellent feature especially cause I use it all night. It has a few different settings for the fan & an auto setting for the air purifier/fan it will change when it detects air quality & it has an indication light to let you notice the air quality in the room by changing color. I’ve noticed a change in my sinuses when waking up in the morning after using Blueair the first 2 nights. I noticed it cools a lot better when it’s not so hot outside, it has washable fabric air filters which are always awesome don’t have to worry about running out & needing to replace it. I think the little square cube is a perfect size I leave mine on the ground my puppy loves to lay & sleep near the cool air, but it is small enough to set on a table, nightstand etc. it not very heavy so easy to carry if needed.

An Excellent Beautiful Fan and Air Purifier

Living in a big house and suffering from allergies myself and my daughter, I am thankful for air purifiers. They definitely make such a difference that we rarely need medication now. One issue that I’ve had with these purifiers is that they don’t quite replace fans. Another issue is that they are either too big or too small. Luckily, this Blueair model does work as a good fan and is neither too big nor too small. It flows air better than some fans of similar size and it cools better too. Equally important, the air smells clean. Portability is one of the most important features. I am a very active person, exercising daily. If it is too hot or too cold, I exercise inside the house. This Blueair was a blessing because I can take it to where I’m working out and place it either to my side or in front of me. It cools me down better than my ceiling fan and, again, the air it blows is clean and I have already noticed that I have less post-exercise respiratory sensitivity than before I started using it. I also use it on my desk when I’m editing videos or playing games. I couldn’t be happier with it in that regards. Also, the whole family liked the design. It looks nice in any environment. And it is so quiet even at full speed. That is very important to my ears. Finally, it doesn’t have a remote or connects to WiFi like other air purifiers. I love smart homes and device but since it is designed to be portable, I think those features wouldn’t make any sense. It also simplifies its use. I would hate to have to open an app just to control a fan that I need to move around frequently. The design, the quietness and the efficiency are enough for me to give it five stars. It really is excellent!

So far I am loving this fan with built in air purifier. It is super quiet and features an auto run mode. I turn up the speed when I need for it to cool. When there are impurities in the air it automatically detects it and increases the purification mode. I have been using this every day and I strongly recommend it for your small space. I am using it in my home office.

I love this air purifier. It was a little larger than I expected, but it's an extremely attractive unit, so I don't mind leaving it out. It's easy to use and the fan feature is my favorite. It has completely replaced my ceiling fan at night. I've noticed a big reduction in dust in my bedroom and I don't woke up congested during the fall allergy season. If I had a nitpicky complaint, I wish I could turn off the air quality light at night. There is a sleep mode that turns off the light, but the fan mode is set to low. If I want a higher fan speed, I have to deal with a fairly bright light on the front of the unit.

Pretty neat and "cute" fan that works well

The first thing my wife said when I took this fan out of the box was "That's cuuuute". So there's that. I have air purifiers in a couple rooms in my house but this one looked cool to me because it's also a lot more of a traditional fan than other ones I've seen. I think it works pretty well too. Setup is pretty easy. It's basically just a fan. The filters were already installed. The only thing I didn't fully understand right away was the "pre-filter" which is just a flexible cloth that stretches around the filter that catches a lot of the big stuff right away. I accidentally opened the package that had a spare pre-filter inside it because I didn't know what it was. Other than that, just take it out of the box, plug it in, turn it on. The fan has 3 speed settings and then an "auto" setting and a night mode setting. Night mode, I'm pretty sure, is just the first setting but it turns the LEDs off. Not sure why they need a whole separate mode for that instead of just an LED button that turns off the LEDs no matter what mode you're on. The first speed mode, as well as night mode, and auto mode when the air is clear are all pretty much as quiet as possible. You can still feel a little bit of air coming out of the fan too. But it basically sounds like the fan is not on. Mode 2 ramps up the fan pretty heavy and is very audible. Not annoyingly. I actually have been using mode 2 as my sleep mode lately. It doesn't sound like normal compact fan. It sounds more like a white noise generator. Mode 3 is a little louder. Not crazy but it's a bit too loud for my bedroom. I have used the auto-mode a few times but I think my air stays pretty clear when I just leave the fan on mode 2 so I haven't gone back since I started using mode 2 as my sleep mode. But when using auto, you will notice the speed fluctuating depending on the air quality which is a nice way to know things are working. Overall, I'm a "fan" of this fan. If you're looking for a decent air purifier that isn't a big box for the corner of the room, this might be up your alley too. The fact that it doesn't look terrible and doubles as an extra fan is great. If it's in your budget, I can recommend it.

I have a corner office that I like to keep cool. I am an ice bug and I love the cold. I just replaced my old fan with this one and I love it. The air quality in my office seems a little bit better people are always telling me that when they walk in, and my office is just as cool maybe a little cooler than I ever remember. Haven't tested it in a wide open space but in a nice 20x15 office it gets the job done for sure.
