    Air scrubbing beast

First things first. The Classic Series 680i is a massive piece of equipment. I assumed because of the air cleaning capacity it would be big, but I was surprised at just how large it really was when I got it unboxed. Although the lines are clean and the design is minimalist, just don't expect the 680i to just blend in anywhere. That's really the only "negative" thing I can possibly say about it though. The unit comes fully assembled, leaving you only to remove the plastic covering from the included filters and slide them back into place. It's ready to plug in and start scrubbing your air within a matter of minutes. There are easy rolling wheels on it which makes moving from place to place substantially easier, even on carpet. If you will be moving it from floor to floor (as I do occasionally), there aren't any handles so be prepared to hoist it up and carry it up or down the stairs. I downloaded the Blueair app and was quickly connected to the unit. The app itself allows you to remotely control the unit anywhere you have an internet connection. It also allows you to monitor your air quality and get a feel for how hard the 680i is working to keep all the junk out. Initially, I placed it in a large bonus room above the garage which gets lots of traffic (and odors!) from teenagers. I set it to the automatic mode and let it go for a couple of days. It was so quiet on the low fan speed I had to check it often to be sure it was actually running. There is a blue LED (dimmable) on the front panel, but I had to feel it to satisfy myself it was working. And boy did it. Within a couple of days, the room smelled better and had substantially less dust than normal. Just for giggles, I pulled it out to the garage during a recent painting project to see how it would do. Although the paint fumes were still noticeable, I could tell from past experiences they dissipated much more quickly than normal. As luck would have it, after I finished the paint project, I had left the garage door open while doing some other things. When I came back, the 680i was running at a much higher fan speed (and accompanying volume) than I had heard to that point. A neighbor was having a relatively large and smoky bonfire at the time which led to smoke coming into the garage. The unit sensed the issue and was working overtime to clear the air. I closed the door and within less than 10 minutes there was no trace of fire odor in the garage and the 680i was once again working at an imperceptible volume. Needless to say, I was impressed. Since then, I have moved this unit between large areas of my home to scrub the air and have seen a visible decrease in the amount of airborne particles, resulting dust on furniture, and have been breathing a little bit easier (especially at night while sleeping). I simply can't say enough good things about the Blueair 680i. It really is an air scrubbing beast.

So I received my Blueair Classic Series 680i Air Purifier a couple weeks ago and have been putting it through its paces. First off, I must say upon unboxing it, you will quickly notice that this thing is a beast. It comes fully assembled including the wheels on the bottom of it and with 3 air filters. Also included is the user manual complete with instructions on how to set it up and get started. With its large size (and the wheels on the bottom), this air purifier can be easily moved from room to room with no issue. However, due to its size it can clean the air in large rooms like living rooms, kitchen, and bedrooms. It took no more than 5 minutes getting this air purifier up and running. Just take the plastic wrap off of the filters and place one on the left and right sides and one on top. Next download and create an account on the Blueair companion app from the App Store or Google Play Store to your smartphone or tablet. Connect the air purifier to your home Wi-Fi network and you're ready to go. It took me a few minutes to also figure out that there's a little flap door on top that pops open that shows the power button (which can be adjusted from low, to medium, to high), filter indicator, auto button, VOC indicator, and PM2.5 indicator. For those like myself, understanding t/VOCs, and PM is explained somewhat in the app (by clicking on the little "i" icon). In my testing I have found that this air purifier works amazing. While frying up a batch of chicken, the smells began to fill the house up. However, after cooking the air purifier quickly eliminated the smell and made the air quality in the house a lot more breathable. My morning's waking up the last couple of weeks have been amazing. Typically I suffer from allergies and have so most of my life. But since receiving the air purifier I've enjoyed clean air and my allergies have not been a problem as much over the last couple of weeks. I recommend this air purifier for anyone looking for a good purifier for their home, and/or anyone that may suffer from allergies.

The Blueair 680i is very impressive. I noticed a difference in the air quality of my home within an hour of plugging it in and starting it up initially, and since that moment have experienced a range of its capabilities. I set it up via the app as it recommends, which allows you to select your physical location so it can compare your interior air quality with the air outside via the internet. It will give you an estimate for how long the filters will last before needing to be replaced. You can choose to have it run on “auto” or select a fan speed or time frame you want to have it go for. I went with auto, and 99% of the time it sits so quietly you’d be forgiven for wondering if it was even on at all. The only times I’ve ever even heard it where when we were cooking and it went into full blast to clean the air after burning something in our oven, as well as after leaving an exterior door open too long which kicked it on briefly. I never felt like I had any issues with smells or other things like that in my home but it’s noticeably cleaner smelling now with the purification running. I can check the app and see exactly what it has been up to, and the air quality at any given moment both in and out. It’s very simple, and easy to use, and really works. I was somewhat skeptical I’d notice any difference at all and I have, and that’s saying a lot. I am very happy with this air purifier, and appreciate the difference it has made so far.

The Blueair - Classic Series 680i 698 Sq. Ft. Air Purifier - White offers filtered fresh air inside your home or office. Utilizing an efficient design, this Air Purifying unit provides user or automatic settings for rooms up to 775 sq ft. Using 3 large hepa-rated filters it removes airborne dust and allergens, pet dander and dirt, and well as other airborne contaminants. I found this unit to be quick to setup, easy to access and use manually or via the Blueair app and settings. With 3 fan speed settings I found setting 1 and 2 to be perfect for my home. Effective and quiet, it does its job without disrupting the family during dinner or a movie. Also, The overall size is just right for the functioning area. It fits behind our tv and stand. Setting 3 is loud but very effective. It is like a cyclone with the movement of air this unit makes. PROS - Solid design and function - Efficient for power and filtration - The right size for the area of funtionality - 3 large filters - Easy to set up and use CONS - Hard to find the app on App Store A must have for anyone with pets!!

From the cooking of subjectively smelly foods to relief from pet allergies, this air purifier is really changing our lives in our home! I love to eat fish, the really smelly ones when you cook them. My girlfriend on the other hand cannot stand the smell and gags when she smells them. This air filter to both of our assessments has been really incredible in cutting down on food odor. I have an open concept condo where the living room, dining room, and kitchen are all connected with no intervening walls or separations. I would say it is probably about 500 sq. feet or so of open air all circulating together. I have the incredible machine set up in the living room and it quietly and efficiently deals with the smells. I will food prep in the morning on a day off with this air purifier turned on and by the time my girlfriend gets home in the afternoon, she cannot smell the fish I have cooked! Another aspect this is really helping with is cats. I love cats, so so much. But oh my gosh, they make my eyes turn redder than a tomato at peak redness. I already have been employing the use of a pet allergy/HEPA filter vacuum, but with this air purifier my residual day to day allergy flare ups have all but disappeared! I have enjoyed connecting this to my phone to see the metrics for filtration and purity of the air. It is fascinating to see the variances day to day in the measurements. I am going to be curious when spring hits what the purifier detects and how it holds up to my areas ridiculous pollen count. All in all, I would really take a large air purifier like this into consideration if you have a large, ongoing space to filter that falls at or under this machine’s rated 698 sq. feet of purification.

    Blueair Purifier Keeps Air Clean

The Blueair - Classic Series 680i 698 Sq. Ft. Air Purifier is a fantastic air purifier. It works well in larger rooms, yet can be used in smaller rooms if necessary. There is a distinct difference in the quality of the air when the Blueair system is running, compared to when it is not. Mild orders that would ordinarily linger from carpet or furniture are no longer an issue. The system runs quiet, so it does not disturb you when you are sleeping or on the phone/working. It even works with your phone and Amazon Alexa. So you can manage you Blueair purifier from anywhere in your home, or even when you're away. The Blueair - Classic Series 680i 698 Sq. Ft. Air Purifier is wonderful for people/children that are sensitive to allergens. My child has remarked on the difference in the air since using the Blueair purifier, and I have noticed a decrease in sneezing as well. I highly recommend the Blueair - Classic Series 680i 698 Sq. Ft. Air Purifier for your home. You'll be glad you did.

This Blueair air purifier is the most perfect air purifier I've ever used. Ever. Seriously, this thing does one heck of a number as far as cleaning dust and other impurities floating around which ever space you set it up in. I've been using it a couple of weeks and the amount of dust accumulated over a week has just about vanished completely. I set this up in my living room where I also happen to have most of my computer gear and electronics. This device gives me peace of mind that I'm not going to have to worry about any dust build up killing this stuff early. An added bonus is the air in my home smells better. Setup is fairly easy and the noise level while it runs is perfectly acceptable.

Given the reviews that I had read and other things that I had been reading about blueair, I thought I was buying a quality product. I have found out that it just means that they are good at marketing. We noticed an issue when we started to smell a sour stench coming from the blueair machine, and more specifically, the filters. When I looked into this sour stench further (my concern is that it was toxic - we did shut it off), this appears not to be an isolated incident. Looking at some negative reviews on other sites, I found one person who was on their third set of filters. While researching this stench, I came across some other information that leads me to believe that the company is just trying to make a buck and does not really care about the product. Among other things, the HEPASilent filter is not a true HEPA filter (unverified, but since I have returned this, I am not digging in further). In some cases, the company was non-responsive regarding the filter stench. This is something that I just don't want to deal with. I returned the unit and will be looking for a more trustworthy manufacturer.

Absolutely great product. Just what is needed for pets, cooking, allergens and dust from living near the Atlantic ocean. The unit is made in Sweden and they did things right from start to finish. The unit arrived and was packed extremely well. The caution to remove plastic from filters was easy to spot and of course critical to the unit’s operation. It has 3 filters and you can join a filter club to expedite ordering and keeping up with having clean filters. This unit can be controlled by an LED control panel (you can select the brightness) or control it as I preferred, by a very well written cell phone app. The unit will connect to your WiFi so that the app selections including a schedule can control the unit if you select to run on a schedule. When you choose to ‘schedule’, if you want it to follow the times and to follow the fan speed you set, then don’t set ‘Auto’ when inside the scheduler. Basically ‘Auto’ means the fan speed is controlled by the device sensors. Also you can set the fan speed for after the scheduled time elapses and the fan will switch to this selected speed. For example I set the fan to run at the highest ‘3’ speed for one hour every day and then to run at the ‘2’ speed the rest of the time. Here’s a nice link to use in addition to the manual: Control your air purifier from the Blueair Friend app | Blueair The app is easy to install and setup including the WiFi connection. So nice when the app is clear and works perfectly like this one. The manual is also done properly and is easy and logical to get acquainted with the air cleaner. The product is super well made and the fan is quiet and smooth at all speeds. What a great product and I might add that given the problems of ensuring your home air is clean, it is a very desirable product. I highly recommend this Classic 680i unit from Blueair.

    Efficient Allergy Relief

I’m mostly a very healthy guy despite being over 50. I exercise and eat healthy. I control my sugar level but I'm not even pre-diabetic. The only health issue I’ve had all my life is allergy. It only bothers when I breathe…oh yeah…all the time. It is usually mild and it doesn’t keep me from doing anything but it gets worse during certain seasons like now. I had already noticed that air purifiers made a huge difference but this Blueair almost made me feel like I’m totally allergy free. I waited a few days before writing this review because I wanted to make sure it was real. It is. Just hope it continues to be as efficient in the long run. The app is not that wonderful in any way but the purifier is. The only reason I’m not giving it 5 stars is because the fan is louder than I expected at full speed. I’m very sensitive to noise, so I wouldn’t sleep if it was at that speed all night long. Fortunately, once the air is clean, it can work at a steady low speed that is virtually silent. So it is not an issue for me. This device is powerful and designed for spaces even bigger than my master bedroom, which is where I decided to use it because it just makes my life easier at night and I wake up feeling really well in the morning, but this would work well in any room up to 698 square feet, according to description. It has wheels, which makes it easy to move around the house to where you need it most. It is also relatively light. I more than recommend this. My whole family is in the medical field and everybody agrees that this type of device, when working well, does help. This Blueair Purifies does work well. I love a great product and this one is.

We received this purifier just before we started doing some painting. Painter had to use clorox on the walls in the bathroom and it was strong. We put this in there after he was finished and can't even smell it now. Purifier has sensors in it to detect what's in the air. I would think that if you put it on auto it would increase the airflow but it didn't when we put it in the bathroom. It has 3 speed settings. The first one you can't even hear. The other two is what you would get from a big fan. Connects to your wifi and an app on your phone and can give you info about the air quality. Purifier has 3 large filters that are expensive to replace. One thing though is the air comes into the machine unfiltered through the bottom so over time dust is going to collect on the parts in the machine but if it was filtered the sensors wouldn't work. We will see how easy it is to clean.

My Blueair classic air purifier has been amazing!!! It took a few days to notice the difference with my allergies, but now my sinuses have been more under control while at home & my personal office I’ve taken it back & forth lol. At home my boyfriend & I noticed no smell in the house after cooking dinner we left & came home left the purifier on & the house smelled fresh when we came in, which of course we were both happy about I hate smelling cooked food days after especially when we have full long hour work days so the house is normally closed up. The size is a little big but we found a perfect spot so it wasn’t such an eye sore, I am amazed at how quiet it is when on. It took a bit but we figured out how to set up & control the setting from our iPhones & Alexa which is awesome when you don’t want to get up & move from your comfy spot after working 12 hours. We use the auto mode so we don’t have to keep messing with setting which is totally helpful. I would really recommend this to people with pets , allergies & hate smells other than air fresheners.

I've purchased several Blueair air purifiers. All different models. Very upset with this one. Returned the item. For something so "advanced", connecting to it should be intuitive, especially when I am paying such a premium price. I wasted so much time trying to connect to this. I reached out to customer support several times. No use. Gave up and returned it.
