Excellent investment. I purchased the Blueair 7770i 674 Sq Ft purifier. The purifier is situated between the kitchen and living room, open space design having approximately 560 Sq Ft. I found that placing the purifier on the auto mode and forget it, does it all. The purifier sensors adjust the fan speed as needed per particle count. Open a window or cook on the stove the purifier will adjust to what is in the air. Most of the time the fan speed is on low and completely quiet. Only when high particle count and the fan is on high do you hear it working, which is good for cleaning the air quickly. I found that there is lest dust accumulation on the surface areas. The purifier monitors volatile gases in the air, color coded graph and color bar, blue to red but does not adjust the fan speed as the air becomes more polluted. There must be a reason for this but unknown to me. The app. works well . You can monitor the history of the time line of particles and volatile gases.

The Blueair air purifier offers a new level of home cleanliness that most could stand to benefit from during these trying times. Question is, does the price tag warrant the hype?
So let's get the basics out of the way. Out of the box you get the main unit, instruction book, filter and power cord. I want to start by saying this is not a small unit. I uploaded a picture of the unit with my german shepard in it for size comparison. The unit is big and will stand out however its sleek and modern look makes it so that it does not become a eye sore. The Blueair air purifier comes with a free downloadable app. Through the app you can access your unit anywhere there is a internet connection. Once connected to the app you can then see several different functions, data, and different options. Through the app the first thing you will see is your air quality, i.e. excellent, good, etc. Once you dive in to the main portion of it you receive quite a bit of info, alot more then i was actually expecting to see. You will get a graph of your PM1, PM 2.5, PM10, tVOC, temp, and humidity. At first i was very overwhelmed by the amount of information it gave you however once i took some time to sit down and read everything thoroughly i realized that its pretty simplistic even though it appears not to be. So real briefly here, your PM is your "find particulate matter" reading. And basically what this means is rather or not the air purifier detected particulates and if so of what size are they. To put it simply PM 1 is your fine particulates such as bacteria and virus, where as your PM 10 is larger more coarse particulates such as dust and pet dander. Your tVOC graph is probably one of the bigger ones i focused on as that measures gasses. My master bedroom is in the basement and living in the basement can pose some health risk with the presence of radon gasses. This unit will monitor those gases and tell you your quality level while also filtering them out. But i'll get back to touch on these items. Through the app you can also set schedules for example, at 8am you can have the fans go at full speed while your away at work then set them to tone down at 5pm when you get off and then have the unit go in to sleep mode at 8pm which will turn off all the led lights and lower the fan speed so you can sleep. If you don't like using apps that is ok as the main unit will allow you full control of everything except setting up schedules. At the top of the unit there is a full LCD screen that will allow you to cycle through the different PM levels and Gas levels as well as change speeds and activate Germshield. Speaking of which this unit offers a really cool feature called Germshield. The premise behind this feature is just as it states, it will filter out the finer particles that carry bacteria and viruses allowing you to hopefully avoid the common cold. Now let me get one thing straight Blueair does not promise this and even in there pamphlet it says that it will not protect against Covid or Sars however it does filter particulates that are fine enough to get you sick. I don't know about you but with everything going on in the world right now i'll take just about every little bit of help i can get. Now directly under the LCD screen is a LED strip that will light up different colors in order to give you a quick glance of what your air quality looks like. The strip is split in to two sections in the middle allowing it to give you two different visual representations. For example the left part of the strip represents your PM levels while the right side of the strip represents your tVOC or gas levels. Let's say your PM levels are excellent and your gas levels are moderate. The left side of the strip would be lit up blue while the right side would be lit up yellow. The colors are based obliviously on air quality, Blue=excellent, Green=good, Yellow=moderate, and Red=poor. The unit comes with a main Hepa filter that is shaped like a V and two side pre-filters that are washable. The pre-filters is a very nice feature to have for all us pet owners as it will collect pet hair allowing them not to make it to the main filter which would end up shorting the filter life. Also one thing i forgot to mention was the LCD screen will also give you filter life in the form of percentage. It will also tell you room temp and humidity also. Fan speed can not be heard at its lowest setting while at its highest setting it become a little bothersome noise wise.
Now i want to talk about if it does what it claims it can. This really is a hard question to answer as most particulates and gasses can not be detected by the human eye. So how are we to judge this then? Simple put i was able to judge against the smells that i normally get due to having pets and kids. Let me give you one example. One day my dog was not feeling good and he had a accident in the laundry room which is in the basement. Now normally the whole house would smell because this has happened in the past. While when i woke up in the morning i noticed my LED strip was yellow which it never is indicating that it was picking up both gas and particulates. Come to find out my dog had obviously had a accident but the really cool thing was i could not smell anything whatsoever. The air still smelled really fresh and clean. Another to add credit to this unit is that every time my wife gets ready for work she uses hairspray and every time she uses hairspray the Blueair will pick up the gas and turn yellow. This happens every time, and i mean every time! So i know this unit is working at detecting gasses and if its detecting gasses its also filtering them as well. Having this unit in the basement gives me a lot of piece of mind as i feel pretty confident that although i may not filter out all radon gas i feel confident it will greatly help. After all some filtration is better than no filtration. The air quality that comes out also just smells more crisp and clean. At first i thought maybe i was just buying in to the hype and it was all in my head but when my teenage daughter who never notices anything came in to my room and asked why it smelled fresh downstairs i knew it had to be working. If your a pet owner then there is no doubt this is a must have. For all the cat litter or dog hair smell this unit is sure to take care of that making the house smell so clean that not even your guest will know that you have pets. We have a cat, and mind you i am not a cat person just do to the fact that i hate the smell of cat litter. After the first night i immediately noticed the smell of cat litter was gone. As big as this unit is you can easily filter a 1000 sq ft room with ease allowing your house to become more welcoming to guest while hopefully improving your health.
Here's my take away from this set up. Everything about this unit is worth the price tag. The app works flawlessly and the data on the screen seems to be somewhat consistent with what we got going on in our house, such as using hair products, cooking, having animals, etc. The fact that it can get particulates down to PM 1 which can carry the common cold is an even better feature to have. Once again just so we are clear im not saying that this unit will prevent you from getting sick and neither is Blueair however if there is even a slightest possibility that it can then i personally feel its worth it as me and my family are looking for anything and everything we can do to stay healthy during this pandemic. Putting that aside though this unit does a phenomenal job getting rid of pet order. The built in removable pre-filters means you won't blow so much money on replacing the main filter. So far as of writing this review i have yet to find a single flaw yet. Everything works flawlessly starting from the app all the way down to the main unit and LCD touch screen. I understand this unit is on the higher end for sure. But i will leave you with this one string of words my doctor once told me. "How much is your health worth to you?"
Pros:
-filters air as small as PM 1
- Built in touch screen LCD
- Comes with 2 pre-filters
- Can't be heard at its low setting
- App that works perfect with no issues
- Built in wheels to easily move the unit
- Germshield

---- Review ----
Setup:
With no assembly required, getting started with the Blueair 7770i air purifier is a quick and easy couple of steps. After removing it from the well-packaged box, a protective wrapping must be removed from the unit itself and the filter within it. All that’s left to do after that is plug it into a power supply and press the On/Off button. A few additional steps are required if you choose to set up the Wi-Fi connection, which allows the air purifier to connect to the Blueair app. Since it’s optional, there’s a Wi-Fi button on top of the air purifier that can be pressed to disable the Wi-Fi function. I chose to set mine up with the Blueair app, and I’m glad I did because it provides features like indoor and outdoor air quality monitoring, filter lifetime tracking, scheduling, and the ability to adjust fan speed, or turn on “Auto” or “Night” mode. More on those features later. Overall, I appreciated the simple setup process that allowed me to get this air purifier up and running in no time.
Design:
The Blueair 7770i air purifier is large, but given its ability to completely filter approximately 674 square feet five times an hour, I’m understanding of its size. Plus, it’s elegant and by far the best-designed air purifier I’ve ever seen. One of the standout design aspects is the display on top which provides detailed reports of particle concentrations, volatile organic compound (VOC) levels, temperature, humidity, and filter life. Touch controls for On/Off, “Auto” mode, airflow speed, GermShield, and Wi-Fi are located below where the reports are displayed. Additionally, there’s an air quality LED indicator bar nearby that makes it easy to tell what the current air quality level is from afar. Colors vary from red for very polluted to blue for excellent. I like that everything you need to control or monitor the air purifier is easily accessible or viewable on top. Although it’s a simple design that’s generally understandable without referencing the user manual, I highly recommend reading through it to get a good understanding of what the air quality information means as well as how to care for and maintain the air purifier. Some small but appreciated design aspects are easy filter removal, wheels that enable you to roll it from one location to another (it’s quite heavy to pick up), and a cord winder to store any excess cord length. It seems like Blueair thought of everything when designing this air purifier.
Features & Performance:
I’m surprised by how quiet this air purifier is, even on its highest setting. I hardly notice it’s on, which is impressive considering it can completely filter a 674 square foot room about five times an hour, kill 99% of germs caught on the filter, and remove 99.97% of airborne particles like viruses and bacteria, dust, pollen, dander, and mold (based on third-party testing). I honestly believe it’s helped keep my allergies in check, which was one of my main hopes. I’ve tried this air purifier in a couple of different locations in my home, and when it’s near the kitchen, cooking is something that inevitably decreases the air quality. Often, in this scenario, the air quality indicator bar turns red to signify that the air is very polluted. One side of the bar is for particulate matter and the other for gases, so you could potentially see two different colors at once. I notice that when I’m cooking, the air purifier recognizers that the air quality is bad right away and gets to work. Within about 10 minutes, the air is already purified and those red lights on the indicator bar return to blue to indicate the air quality is back to excellent. Other colors that may show along the way are orange for slightly polluted, yellow for moderate, and green for good. The indicator lights can be turned off if you change the mode to “Night” which will also make the air purifier run as quietly as possible. This is great if it will be in the same room someone is sleeping in because the indicator bar is quite bright on its default setting. Speaking of “Night” mode, I like that it can be scheduled in the Blueair app. The same goes for “Auto” mode, or you can manually specify a certain fan speed if you’d rather not use either of those modes. Even the brightness percentage of the indicator lights can be scheduled, or just manually set in the product settings of the app. Other app features that are nice to have are outdoor and indoor air quality monitoring so that you can see the air quality outside and inside your home at a glance, and a filter lifetime status, which can is also be viewed on the air purifier itself. The Blueair 7770i air purifier is very advanced, but I’m impressed by how simple it is to use. I just have it on “Auto” mode most of the time and feel good knowing that every time I step foot in my home, I’m breathing pure air.

There are many Indoor air pollutants: bacteria, viruses, pollen, allergens, dust, mold, pet dander, smoke, formaldehyde, cleaning chemicals, and cooking odors. These are the main reason to have the right unit that provides air filtration, which removes (most or all) these pollutants. Also, having good indoor air quality will make a home more comfortable. HEPA filters are good air filters but what is best about Blueair is their type of filter, called HEPASilent Ultra, which combines electrostatic and mechanical filtration. The unit draws the pollutants, then they are electrostatically charged, which forces them to attach to the filters. This dual combination (electrostatic & HEPA) allows the highest air velocity and at the same time produce maximum clean air. I understand how this unit works, but I don’t have the measuring tools to test the actual air quality input and output. The airflow is excellent, disbursed throughout the room, with a minimum noise level at the lower fan speeds. The unit has a built-in quality air sensor, which does detect changes in particle concentration. For example, when someone comes near the unit after being outside, the sensor detects an increase in pollutants. Also, when someone starts cooking near the unit, the sensor will pick changes in the air. On sleep mode, the fan runs at the lowest speed and is very quiet. Since the unit has two rolling wheels, portability is not an issue on the same floor. It might be an issue if the unit needs to be moved into the upper or lower floors since it is not a light-weight unit. The energy power drawn from this unit is very low (8-48W), and it is Energy Star rated. In addition to this, using an air filter system in a home that uses centralized air condition (A/C) will reduce cooling energy costs and may prolong the life of the A/C, which could cost thousands to replace.
A house with cleaner air will not make an A/C unit work as hard, and there will be fewer filter changes. The control panel on the unit indicates the air quality and has the main buttons to operate the unit. Connecting the unit to home Wi-Fi and linking it to the Blueair app will enhance the user experience to additional control settings. For example, I have a schedule on the app that will have the unit turn on at my specified time, fan speed, and control panel light brightness. There can be multiple schedules and set to repeat any day of the week. The unit’s control panel only has four fan speed levels (0, 1, 2, & 3), but the app allows different fan speed beside the four main speed (e.g. 1.4, 2.7). The app can also contain the outdoor air quality. Health-wise, this air quality filtration unit is an excellent investment when used frequently and correctly. To achieve the best indoor air quality in a home, one needs to use a high-quality air filtration system. Superior home comfort is best when maintaining healthy indoor air quality.

Last year during the wildfires raging in the West coast, we were desperately looking for a competent air purifier that can take care of our large living space, but we were unable to get a decent one. Instead we had to make do with multiple smaller one which ended up taking a lot of space and created a lot of inconvenience. Thus the Blueair 7770i was a welcome addition to our home and replaced almost all our purifier units. After using the unit for almost a month, we are liking it even more as we discover unique capabilities Blueair has smartly integrated into it.
The unit is a tall monolith, but with a sleek, futuristing design. The white and black color combo looks something from the future (reminds me of stormtroopers from Star Wars). It is heavy, and I had to rely on the two wheels at the bottom to move it around the house. The fit and finish is awesome, and makes me feel assured that it will survive the dings and scratches my pet dog imposes on it on a daily basis.
There are basically 4 filter “elements” - 2 on the lower sides which are permanent pre-filters, and can be taken out to clean very easily. The “main” filter is actually a 2 element conjoined filter that needs to be replaced from time to time. It resides in a large cavity in the middle part and can also be taken out quite easily.
The interesting bit is the touch-based control on the top-side which looks more like a tablet. All the buttons are capacitive - there are no physical buttons anywhere. The interface is intuitive with nice graphics, has no lag, and very responsive. As with any touch interface, some people love or hate it, but in my daily use it was not an issue. I can take a look at what is the current PM 1, 2.5, 10 counts, along with a graph to show the “tVOC” aka volatile gas detected near the unit. The fan speed (different levels and auto) and the Germ Shield can be accessed there. Also the filter life, humidity and temperature can be seen. Two separate LEDs give indications, at a glance, how much PM and gas the unit is detecting. The most helpful thing is all of these (and more) can be accessed via the Blueair smartphone app. I have been using the Android app all along and have set up multiple schedules (such as when to enable Night mode etc.) through it.
The capacity of the Blueair 7770i is 674 sq. ft., and it takes care of my large living space with ease. It has been very useful whenever we cook and the odor of the oil/spice/etc. gets drastically reduced in no time. In auto mode, the fan speed gets higher whenever it detects high pollutant count. It gets quite noisy (and breezy) at that time, and I wouldn’t stay close to it when that happens. However, when the low speed mode sets in, it is almost whisper-quiet and unnoticeable. Thus I have opted to run the unit 24/7, and have set it up so it stays at a low speed when we are sleeping. That has made the Blueair almost like an invincible guardian, and I think that’s what one would like from an air purifier. This is not a cheap unit by any means, but I believe it is worth the investment.

My significant other has bad environmental allergies to dust mites, mold, mildew, etc.
I try to keep our apartment as clean as possible, so I am no stranger to air purifiers. We have tried a variety of different brands but have only found one brand to be true to it's claims. I'm happy to report that this brand has made the list! This air purifier does an outstanding job of providing a lot of useful data. It can tell you how much of a particular particle size it is detecting in your air along with telling you the humidity levels and temperature of the area you place it in.
We have an open concept kitchen, dining, and living room so I chose a central location that I thought would be best.
The first reaction we had to this purifier when we opened the packaging was about it's design. It's very modern looking. Almost resembles a very popular gaming console that was released in 2020. It's sleek and tall. People generally comment how cool it looks while they try to figure out what it is.
Setup is super easy. You just have to unpackage everything. The filters are easy to locate and change out when needed.
I downloaded the app on my phone so that I could see all the data in more depth. If you are familiar with registering products through your phone, you shouldn't have any issues with this. Took about 5 minutes to get it all downloaded and connected.
When I turned everything on, I actually thought it was defective because I couldn't hear it, but once I played around with the fan speeds, I realized that it's just that quiet. This is the first air purifier that we've owned that we can't really hear running. That being said, it's still filtering the air like it should. I was amazed.
Once I played around with the settings some more, I put it on Auto mode and let it run for a couple of days. I haven't had any issues.
Since it's close to our kitchen, it actually detected a little bit of smoke that was coming from our indoor grill. We were searing meat and it actually turned up the fan to help the smoke and smell dissipate. I didn't expect it to do that. I love that it does that. Not that I'm searing or burning things a lot but it's good to know that if my cooking goes south, at least the air purifier will aid me in hiding the ruins.
Overall I would say that if you are in the market for a high tech, super quiet air purifier, this is the one to go to. I think you will be pleasantly surprised.

Massive air cleaner

Wow, this cleaner is a heavy duty machine designed to filter large amounts of air. It's pretty heavy (even has wheels for moving) and designed to last. Main parts consist of: pre-filter located at the bottom of the machine that catches large particles before they have a chance to enter - air blower motor, ionization device and, of course - massive main filter which is kinda A-shaped to provide large filtering surface. Air quality sensor is located inside of the machine and could be easily removed for cleaning or service.
Top of the machine consists of a color screen and a few control buttons.
Most of the time this fancy designed box (kinda reminds us of Daleks from Dr Who movie) will stay quiet and happily shine it 2 blue LEDs indicating that air quality in the room is great, however if it detects some sort of the pollution (like if you start cooking) - air cleaner will come to life. Top LED air quality indicators will change color (blue is all great, then they go green yellow and red depending on the pollution severity) and blower motor will ramp up. Air outlets are designed in a way that they distribute air evenly around the machine pushing a ton of air without concentrating the flow in one spot and blowing stuff around the room. It takes this air cleaner about 20 to 30 minutes to fiter the 600 sq ft room (12' ceiling) to it's satisfaction (when LEDs turn green or blue) and quiet down.
Mobile app control is a real useful feature of the machine, not only you can control it remotely and look at the air quality indicators (particulate matter pollutants, VOCs, temperature, humidity) but you can also set a schedule for the machine to follow - for example activate night mode from 11pm to 6am and Auto mode otherwise, adjust LED brightness, look at the filter health, etc.
Night mode is very quiet and it also turns the very bright LEDs off, I have no problem sleeping right next to this air cleaner. When the Auto mode kicks in - front LEDs go bright again and pretty much light up the whole room (it can almost double as an alarm clock!).
Overall - it's a great choice if you care for your air quality. Plenty of controls and fast filtering action make it a great choice, especially as we spend a ton more time at home these days.
Some things I would like to see added - better air quality indicators like CO, NO2, Ozone levels?
Filter replacement - main filter is about $100 but needs to be replaced about once a year. Pre-filter is cleanable - just vacuum it weekly.

This cleaned the air in my teenage son’s room. Need I say more?
While I have always had some minor indoor allergies, they didn't bother me much. I spent most of my day at an office with professional grade HVAC equipment. My allergies always bothered me less there. We've been spending much more time in the house since COVID began. This got me thinking about a better quality air cleaner than the filter in my furnace. I looked into getting an enhanced filter for the furnace, but found it to be cost prohibitive. While this portable unit is on the higher side, it was still less than a professional installation, yet still cleans the air all around my main level.
My allergies no longer bother me much. I have the BlueAir set up an the main level of my house. That level has an open floor plan connecting the kitchen, family room, living room, and dining room. This allows air to circulate around the entire first floor. While previously I was blowing my nose 1-2 times per day, I now no longer need to clear my nose beyond when I get up in the morning.
Most of the time, it’s very quiet such that I don’t even notice it’s on. It has a bright LED bar which instantly tells you the overall air quality. This measures the parts per million for different sized particles and for VOCs or volatile organic compounds. The highest in my house was immediately after I burned some things on the stove.
The BlueAir does an amazing job cleaning the air from food odors. It’s parked at the edge of our kitchen. My family really likes onions and pan seared foods. This tends to put a lot of smoke and strong flavors into the air. Having the air filter now means the smells of dinner end when the meal is over. Even if food gets burned, the smell and the smoke is gone within an hour. This is great for offices where someone is always burning microwave popcorn!
For fun, I put the air cleaner in my teen son’s room which regularly smells like a locker room. Within 2 hours, his room smelled the same as the rest of the upstairs. The odors weren’t covered up with anything like Lysol does. They were just gone! While that wasn’t my primary purpose, it certainly shows how capable BlueAir makes their machines. I now have piece of mind that when we have friends over, I can still breath easy.

THE BREAKDOWN:
The Blueair 7770i model has delivered on this product. Not only is it up-to date technology it is sleek and beautiful. This product can cover up to 674 square feet space, filters the air and protects against viruses and bacteria. Living in this day and age I would say this product is pretty handy.
Setup was just a few simple and easy steps. After you remove it from the box and take the plastic off you open up the side where the filters are and remove the plastic off of them. Place them back in the unit and unwind the cord from the bottom and plug it in. It is that easy. If you want to connect to the WiFi there are a few more steps. Such as downloading the app and connecting it to the WiFi.
The 7770i model is very sleek and stylish but it does take up some real estate. It is rather large. This unit has an awesome digital display. It displays reports of volatile organic compounds (VOC) levels, temperature (which is very handy to double check my thermostat), humidity, particle concentrations and filter life. The display is a touch screen and responds well to user interaction. Most people could understand what it was trying to tell you by the way they have the viewing setup.
The fan noise is hardly ever noticeable to me. I ran through the fan speed settings, from 0-3. On 3 I could really tell it was working but 0 and 1 wasn’t even noticeable noise wise. This system cycles the air 5 times an hour claiming to kill 99% of germs caught on the filter and remove 99.7% of airborne particles like dust, dander, pollen and mold to name a few.
I tried this product throughout my home, and I found it really made a difference where my dogs slept. Normally, it smells of dogs but with this product running over the last 2 weeks I hardly ever smell them. This alone is awesome. With the app you can view outdoor air quality as well.
PRO’s:
-Fast easy installation
-Had all the necessary parts to install
-Nice touchscreen display
-674 Square feet of coverage
-Auto mode ( I leave mine on this setting)
-Kills germs, bacteria, dust pollen, etc….
CON’s:
-Large
SUMMARY:
Overall, this product worked well and as intended, and I would recommend this to a friend if they are in the market for device like this.

Modern, Efficient Purifier

The BlueAir HealthProtect 7770i Air Purifier is an outstanding contender for those looking to purchase an air purifier. Having the power to clean the air of a 674 sqft space, modern features like air quality control, and monitoring via a mobile device through an app, the 7770i fills in gaps that other purifiers don't.
Let's talk about the 7770i itself. While it is a large unit, there are wheels below it that make it portable and easier to move the unit to a different location. Also, underneath is a space for the 6ft power cord to be wrapped and is great for times when you would like to store the unit. Over on the top is a nice touchscreen for adjusting and viewing settings. The purifier has 5 different air speed controls including an auto and night setting. These, I can imagine, are nice for when the temperature gets a little warm in the summer and can help fan clean air around a large room.
Being a purifier, Blueair states they are able to clean and protect the air against viruses, bacteria, dander, dust, pollen, mold, odors, and VOCs. Blueair also states that all air within a 674sq foot room is filtered every 12 minutes. After using the 7770i and having the GermShield setting on, I did notice a difference in air quality and even sprayed hair spray to test how well it filtered the odor (it passed the test!). Another test I happened to run to see how well air was purified was seeing the difference in nose congestion within my family. Sleeping in an extended, large 650ft room part of the house (part is used for storage), it has some areas that need dusting. I have noticed my family has woken up with less congestion and have less allergy symptoms throughout the day. Blueair also promotes that 99% of all germs caught in the filter are killed. While thankfully I have not been sick, through Covid, this feature can be of great use.
What really makes the air purifier shine, is the Blueair app. After setting up the app (easy setup, select model and asks for location to be able to get purifier readings while away from your home), the app gives you air quality ratings, other air property readings, and can notify you when the filter needs to be changed out (filter is rated for one year). According to Blueair's standards and air sensors in the 7770i, the app will inform you if the air quality around the air purifier is low or excellent. Based on these measurements, the 7770i can adjust its settings, and can help improve the air quality. The app is also able to tell you if there were certain parts of the day when air quality increased or decreased. I was able to distinguish through the app when my wife used hair spray in the same room as the purifier too!
Overall, this is a great option for those looking to purchase a large space air purifier. With all of its capabilities and modern features, I am sure the purifier will last for years to come.

Unfortunately I have the curse of horrible sinuses. I have been in search of a high quality filter to help curve some of the sinus attacks and headaches. I have gone through many times of air purifiers of all shapes and sizes. When I came across this Air Purifier I instantly fell in love. The way it functions, ease of use of the phone app and the detailed information of the current air qualities are great!
I recommend anyone who is interested in a high end Air Purified and suffers from allergies to look into this product. It is pricey however I feel it is worth it with the amount of functionality and filtering it does.

Stopped working after 2 days of use. Some percentage of units will fail so I am the unlucky one. However, tech support was not helpful. As the air is filled with smoke from a fire close by the were more interested in populating their database despite me having already registered and having the app working. I think language was a barrier as it was clear that english wasn't their first language. They couldn't resolve the issue so we suffered through the smoke which cleared within a day. I will not buy a blueair product again based on poor tech support.

A game changer for my allergies!

I was intrigued by this air purifier for its large room volume capability and HEPA filter system. I have severe allergies year-round and I usually continue to sneeze and have a stuffy nose even while indoors. I have an open concept apartment that is about 600 sqft. of living space which I thought this would be perfect for. At the end of the day my hope was that this would help reduce allergies indoors to give me a better work from home environment and a good night’s sleep – I will say that this delivered on my expectations!
PROS
- Noticeable reduction of allergies after 2 weeks
- Great modern design
- Intuitive app and controls
CONS
- Very large
TIPS
- Set up auto mode for daily at home use
- Dog owners should check and clean prefilter often
- Locate in a central area
SETUP and DESIGN
The unit came well packaged in a large box with the main unit and instruction materials. Overall, I found the unit very modern and techy looking – I think it should look great in any home with its neutral white body and black accents. That being said the unit is large at almost counter height and a little more than a foot wide and deep. The white main body is a painted steel, and the black vents are plastic. It feels like a quality build machine and all the seams and components were well fitted together for a premium look. Up top is a piece of glass with capacitive buttons and a screen that are used to control the unit in addition to the app which I will talk about later.
Before starting up the unit you must open the side door to remove the protective plastic off the HEPA filter. There are two HEPA filters in the product that are attached and oriented in an upside ‘V’ or booklet formation. One is for vertical air vents on the machine and the other is for the top rear air vent. Considering the location of the vents you should position the machine so that these vents are as unobstructed as possible. Upon removing the HEPA filters you can find the back interior door which houses the Temperature, Humidity, and PM sensors. A large radial fan is in the base which sucks air from the right bottom vent and shoots it up into the filters. A prefilter is located at the base of the door where the air intake is. Since I own a dog I noticed that there was a reasonable about of hair due to the location of the vent. I would advise checking this often if you own a dog so that you can get the best performance out of the machine. Since I am in an apartment, I chose a central location to place the 7770i, in my case this was next to my kitchen island. After plugging in the unit, it was off to the races! I selected all the default options and set the unit fan speed to auto. It automatically started measuring the air quality in the apartment and working its magic!
APP and EXPERIENCE
Holding down the Wi-Fi icon allows you to enter setup mode for pairing inside the application. The app uses Bluetooth to discover devices and send the Wi-Fi name and password data that you enter. After the device is paired, you can set a location for the device to keep track of external air quality conditions so that you can use to compare the air quality of your indoor space. All your basic controls are present in the app – Power, Fan Speed, Auto, and Night. Night mode turns off the LED bar and sets a lower maximum fan speed so that the machine runs quieter. Additionally, from the app you can also see a real time graph of the different particle concentrations as they drop while the Health Protect does its job. Finally, you can add detailed schedules to set the modes, fan speed, and LED brightness for various times and days of the week.
Finally, in addition to the app you can setup the 7770i to work with Alexa to control basic functions with your voice. Overall, I found the user experience to be exceptionally good. The auto settings are good for somebody who just wants to plug the unit in and let it work while the user interface provides granular control for those who want it.
PERFORMANCE and MAINTENANCE
After two weeks what a difference having this air purifier has made! While it hasn’t eliminated my allergies, I have had noticeably better sleep and lack of sniffles indoors. I have been overly impressed with how usually quiet the unit is. When cooking and producing smoke, or when opening the patio door on a particular pollen heavy day the Health Protect detects and starts working to filter the air with the auto mode set.
As with any air purifier you will need to replace filters and the 7770i’s filters have a RFID tag build into them which allows the machine to track their usage and notify you when they need to be replaced – which according to Blueair should be about one year with normal use. I was able to easily find these on Blueair’s website. At $99 or 15% off with a subscription they aren’t cheap, but for me and my allergies they are worth it!

My whole family and I are very impressed by this Blueair HealthProtect 7770i air purifier. From the moment you open the box, you know that your are getting a top of the line product. This 7770i has a very modern and sleek design to it. It was very heavy to take out of the box, but once you have it upright you can wheel it anywhere in the house that you need it. I also really liked how the cord is stored on this purifier. It is has a cord winder that hides the excess cord. Once you have located a place in your house that is approximately 670 sq ft, it is time to crank this bad boy up! The touch controls are on the top panel of the purifier and are very user friendly. This panel controls the basic functions to get the purifier working. One of the options on this panel is the wifi button. You don't have to set up the wifi to get the 7770i working, but I would highly recommend that you do so. If you are going to invest this much money on a purifier, you might as well get the most out of your money and by connecting it via wifi and installing the BlueAir app you will do so. Once you have the app set up you can monitor the air quality, track the life of your filter, do some scheduling, adjust fan speed, and also select the Auto or Night modes. Bottom line, it took very little time to get my Blueair up and running. Once you get it up and running, you can choose 3 fan speeds. Obviously, the faster the fan speed, the louder the purifier will get. I have to note, that even on the highest fan speed, the sound isn't too bad. Last, but not least, is how well does this purifier really work and will you notice a difference? You can monitor the air quality in your home and see how it is working to clean your air. I decided to put my purifier where we spend the most amount of time and that is our kitchen and living room area during the day and at night we rolled it over to our bedroom. My wife and I both noticed that our allergies haven't been as bad ever since we got this purifier which has been a week and half now. Now that viruses are in the forefront of everyone's attention, getting this air purifier is a great investment. We couldn't find anything wrong with this product. If you are looking into getting an air purifier, you need to consider this Blueair purifier.

Summary:
I am extremely impressed with this unit. It took some figuring out to discover each of the acronyms and features, but once it is set up, let it do it’s thing and enjoy cleaner air inside large rooms! This filter is one of the best products I have had a chance to review for my house.
Pros:
Looks cool
Works great
Large air filtering capacity
Smart features integrated
Minimal maintenance
Child lock feature
Alexa integration
Filter subscription service adds value
Cons:
Ongoing filter purchases required
Size of unit
Unboxing / setup:
The unit is large, therefore, the box is large. There is not much inside the box other than the unit, instructions and lots of padding.
Setup is rather easy but I do recommend you skim over the instructions first. The power cable is wound up underneath the unit for storage when not in use or for extra slack. You also have to open the filter to remove the covering prior to use. The device will work right away outside of the box but it is recommended you set it up in the phone app to ensure full functionality and smart features. The app also offered Alexa integration for voice features.
Use:
Scrolling around the various menus, I had no clue what the different acronyms stood for. After diving into the manual, the status shows gas levels, temperature, humidity, and various sizes of particulate matter. There are capacitive buttons on the front for controls but once you set it up for auto and set up the WiFi in your app, you likely will not touch it again for a long time. You can set up a child lock so the buttons are disabled while in use. There are two glowing lights on the front of the top to show at a glance and from a distance your current particulate levels and gas levels in your house. Blue is the best with green being good. Any other color should require your attention.
The device uses “Germ Shield” tech which filters and kills viruses and bacteria in the air as they go through the filter. The site explains it has not been tested against COVID-19 but it is worth noting.
After the first use, the fan went hard for an hour or so while it did it’s best to clean the air in my house. Both levels went from green to blue after that time and I never heard it again after a few days as it only had to monitor and up the fan speeds as needed. It is extremely quiet! The unit filters 674 sq ft of space so it is good for large rooms or maybe a floor of the house .
The app allows for more detailed stats on your house air quality and also allows for local information to display the AQI in your area. Most important, the app and display will show you a current filter status so you know when it needs cleaning or replacing. The only maintenance needed is to wipe down and vacuum the coarse filters periodically, the fine filters will require replacement every six months or so.
I was surprised by the warranty as it is one of the best I have seen. The standard warranty is one year. If you register within 60 days it expands to 5 years. If you subscribe to their filter subscription service which orders new filters automatically (using RFID in the filter) when yours becomes dirty, you will receive an ongoing warranty so long as you continue to subscribe. As of time of writing, the subscription doesn't yet support this model and these filters but says "coming soon". The filters are pricey but worth it for clean air. If you subscribe, the filters will be 15% less when needed.
Overall, this is an outstanding unit and great for ensuring some cleaner air in your house. It will also be a conversation starter with it's cool futuristic looks. Kids love it for some reason.

I live in the Pacific Northwest and needed something powerful with all of the fires and smoke we get in late summer and fall. It also helped that I saw this air purifier has been 3rd party tested against live COVID-19 virus cells. So far it's been worth every dollar! It cleans the air quickly and the automatic mode is a game-changer. No need to worry about keeping the fan on high all day, it just detects what is in the air and adjusts accordingly. We have this in our living room not too far from the kitchen. Cooking smells get eviscerated, there is less dust in the room and it all works without any work from me!

From the moment I unboxed the Blueair HealthProtect air filter I could tell that this was going to be a whole new level of air filtration technology. The design is clean and aesthetically pleasing which definitely helps with a larger air purifier such as this. After easily sliding the filter into the left side door I plugged in the unit and was instantly surprised by the intricacy of the LCD display.
This specific model easily covers 674 square feet of any indoor area you are looking to keep clean. It has some weight to it (43.2lbs) but the 2 wheels at the bottom/back of the unit allow for easy in home transportation. The bottom of the unit is designed to hide any excess cord that you may not need, which I love because it makes it look that much cleaner. It stands at 33.9” with an equal width of 13.4”, so I’d say about as tall as a compact mini fridge. The left side of the purifier has a large door that opens to reveal the replaceable filter, which is VERY easy to do, even quicker than changing a light bulb. The unit pulls air in through the side but distributes it in a 360 direction so you won’t end up with a blast of air always blowing towards the same area.
The BlueAir 7770i is equipped with a pretty cool HEPA filter they label as “HEPAsilent Ultra”. It has the ability to use mechanical and electrostatic filter technology to help eliminate any possible gas contaminants, which was refreshing because we use natural gas for our water and heat. Along with the advanced HEPA filter, the unit has a “GERM SHIELD” which doesn’t allow bacteria and germ growth to occur while the unit is not in use.
The 7770i has 3 fan speeds which can mainly be noticed at the highest speed (ranges between 25-53 decibels). The Automatic setting will allow you to let the unit do the decision making for you. If you start to cook something or have too much fragrance on you it’ll instantly detect it and react to eliminate the contamination.
This unit is equipped with 2 pre filters located near the front/lower area. Simply push in and out pops the pre filter. Cleaning these will take a simple dust cloth, vacuum tube or a soft bristle brush. Depending on the home, I’d recommend checking them at least once a week.
The Blue Air app works great, allowing you to control the unit and get real-time air pollution data as well as historical air quality data for your home and your local area. It is a really cool feature and once you have it, you wonder how you lived without it
Overall I’m very happy with the Blue Air 7770i air filter, the air in my home has never been more clean! I highly recommend this air filter to anyone wanting a top of the line air purifier for their home.

It’s a really nice purifier, app works really well & air quality monitor is a solid feature. You can smell the difference. However I bought this to deal with smokers below me in a condo. Chain smokers that smoke inside, while it is a big help there are better options in that regard I’ve now learned. But I would still highly recommend this product overall! Everything feels premium quality. Child lock features and can turn the panel light off in the app if you want to put it in the baby nursery.
