First off the thing is huge!!! Easily stands 3 feet tall, wasn’t expecting it to be this big but not complaining. Very easy set up, took about 15 mins from cutting the box to operational. The interface is all touch screen and simple to use. This can be hooked up to the internet but I don’t use that function and it works just fine. The box says it covers 624 sq feet and I fell it’s accurate. Ive got mine set up in a open kitchen/living room and works just fine. There’s 3 fan settings L/M/H and when it’s in L you cannot hear it all. There’s some noise when it’s on M/H settings but it’s not annoying at all. Another nice feature is the LED light up front. It changes color based on the air quality. Solid blue is no detected containment’s and red is max level containments. I’m a professional level chef and when I start cooking the device picks up on the change in air quality almost immediately and starts working to scrub it. I burnt something the other day (who doesn’t) and the purifier was able to get the smoke filtered out in no time, like less than 5 min. I was throughly impressed with the cleaning ability. Well worth the investment here, especially if you’re sensitive to bad air!!

    Seemingly Very Good

Air purifiers are a tough category to assess depending on the air quality where it is placed. I live in Colorado and air quality here is generally very good. That said, I have been using the Blueair HealthProtect 7770i for about two weeks and I can honestly say I can tell the difference. I have pretty bad allergies and I suffer from sinus congestions pretty frequently until now. I placed the 7770i in my office where I spend most of my time and it has made a qualifiable difference. My office is open to the living room so the overall space is probably in excess of 900 sq ft which exceeds the models maximum room size, but with it in the corner of my office near me I can absolutely tell the difference. My sinuses are the best they have ever been and I can only attribute that to the 7770i scrubbing the air. Let's talk about the air purifier itself a bit more. The Blueair HealthProtect 7770i is the fairly large white moonlith, but has just enough style to not look grossly out of place. It has both manual and auto fan modes and I have been running it in auto primarily with great results. It is very quiet in auto, but if manually placed in the highest fan setting it is similar to sticking your head out of a moving car window. It's loud. However, in auto I have never heard it go above a whisper though your results could vary depending on the environment it is placed. It has a screen on the top of the unit displaying three different particulate sizes, as well as, and VOC (gases) being detected. It also has a large LED light bar that can give indication as to what the unit is detecting from a distance. It will change color based on what levels are being detected in the incoming air. It is defeatable when placed in Night mode which blacks out the top panel to make sleeping possible if the unit is placed in a bedroom as the lights are fairly bright, but adjustable. The unit also connects via WiFi to the Blueair app which I have installed on my iPhone. The app works well and I have not experienced any connectivity issues since installing the unit. The app provides local area air quality statistics, as well as, the air quality where the unit has been placed. All of the controls for the 7770i are accessible from the app which makes throwing it in Night mode when you are already in bed a possibility and a nice quality of life feature. The app also provide filter life information too. Overall, the Blueair HealthProtect 7770i does a seemingly very good job based on what I can tell in my home. If you live somewhere with worse air quality it might make a more appreciable difference. I can recommend the unit based on my experience in my office.

A Serious Commitment to Improved Air Quality

In the heart of any air purifier is a filter and the filter here is an impressive beast that is designed to remove particles and gasses (specifically volatile organic compounds). What really separates this device from generic HEPA filter fans is the wealth of feedback you receive and level of control you have over the operation. The unit has wi-fi connectivity to communicate your information to the Blueair app which basically replicates the information and controls you get on the display panel. The app is not required to operate the device. Because this device is neither small nor light, it is a nice feature that there are two very functional wheels on the bottom that allow you to tilt it back and roll it effortlessly (it would be awkward to move otherwise for most people). Operation, in my case, was as simple and straightforward as turning the device on and selecting the automatic mode. Manual selections include toggles for airflow speed, for GermShield (which they claim kills viruses and bacteria on the filter), and for wi-fi. The air quality information panel has scrollable information on temperature, relative humidity, filter life, size/prevalence of particulate matter, and an indication of prevalence of volatile organic compounds. The critical information on particulate matter and gasses is also intuitively color-coded in a bar along the base of the panel so you can know at a glance what the recent status of your air quality has been - you can see it from very far away from the device itself. At the highest possible fan speed, the purifier is noisy but unless there is a constant influx of gasses or particles (paint fumes, pollens, cigarette smoke, etc.), I find that the fan stays on the lowest speed or is off and operation is very quiet even in close proximity. While the room I have this in is less than 684 square feet in floor space, its ability to move air makes me confident that their claim is not an exaggeration. Note: Blueair purifiers are not tested against coronavirus.

Great for PM, but unknown data for VOC and HCHO

Thus is a large unit! It has double intake filters and I must say it does a great job with particulates. We had some kitchen smoke that it cleared out very quickly. It automatically changes fan speed based on its air quality sensors. The LED display is excellent and shows levels of PM1, PM2.5, PM10, and VOC. There is a very bright blue indicator for air quality level, but we covered that with tape since the light is just too harsh night and day. App works well. Unit is very quiet. The main issue I have with this air filter is that there is little to no data about its VOC and HCHO control. The BlueAir web site suggests that VOC is controlled, but there is no data to back that up. And repeated inquiries from me to BlueAir about the clean air delivery rate (CADR) or % control for VOC never got answered; they just kept sending me CADR for pollen, smoke, and dander while continuing to claim that VOC was controlled. Questions about HCHO were answered very generically that the unit "captures formaldehyde." I'm an air quality consultant, and the fact that BlueAIr cannot provide actual data or more info on VOC and HCHO suggests that they should consider dropping those control claims. HCHO is never really "captured". It must be subjected to a catalyst or destroyed. I would LOVE to see real data from BlueAir as opposed to evasive answers. To be fair, units like Molekule do provide real VOC and HCHO control data, but seem to be relatively poor at controlling PM. The perfect unit would merge the two technologies. So, if PM, dust, and dander are your chief concern, then this unit is great. If you are also worried about cancer-causing VOC and HCHO which are common in homes, then I'm not convinced this BlueAir unit will take care of that.

This air purifier is an expensive machine, but it noticeably does its job. I keep it near a litter box. I do clean that box daily, so I'm not asking the machine to mask a week's worth of odor, but it does make a difference in the air quality. I can also see how much litter dust gets kicked up into the air when the cats use it or when I clean it, so I know it's working! It has auto features -- it's usually pretty quiet, but when the air is really dirty it does kick into high gear and you can hear it a bit. The only issues I have with it is -- I'm disappointed that it doen't have more smart home integration. It can integrate with Alexa, and that's it. I really wish it integrated with Google Home, and I'm sure that others would want to be able to control it through Apple. Second -- the instructions and documentation are fairly vague, especially when it comes to interpreting the display. It allows you to scroll through several different values, including how much per particle size, air temp, and humidity, but I had to search around the internet to understand what it was trying to tell me. There's also an LED bar across the top/front that kinda reminds me of an RGB version of the Knight Rider car, but I'm not sure what it's trying to tell me. Sometimes it's solid green across the front, other times it splits different colors, and I couldn't find anything to tell me what it means. However, since it is such a powerful and effective air purifier, I can't really cost it a point for those issues.

    She's a Beast

Holy Blueair... this thing is a beast. The actual footprint of the purifier is relatively small, but it's tall. It stand just under 3 feet tall. That being said, it does fit nicely in the corner next to our couch. It was very easy to set up. I did, however, almost miss the little tab that says to remove the plastic from the filters inside. There's wheels on the bottom so, despite it being very heavy, it's easy to move around. Installing and setting up the app, and connecting the purifier, was very easy as well. So, what do you say about an air purifier? Most of the time you can't even hear it running. Sometimes, you hear a low hum, that took me a while to figure out it was coming from the purifier. Once in a while, it kicks in to super-duper cleaner mode and you can hear the fan, though it's still not too loud. One thing I have definitely noticed is how it removes food smells. I cook a lot of meals with garlic and shallots. After going to bed, I would wake up in the middle of the night smelling garlic and shallots. Not something you want to smell while you're sleeping. Don't even get me started on roasted broccoli. Since having the 7770i, I don't wake up smelling food anymore. So, if this air purifier can clean those smells out of our home, I can only imagine everything else that it's cleaning out of the air. Overall, I'm very happy with the 7770i purifier. It's a pretty penny, but it gets the air clean.

The design on this is killer. Not just the clean minimalist Scandinavian appearance, but the many thoughtful touches. There is power cord storage in the bottom of the unit to keep excess cord from being a nuisance. There are wheels in the back to help move it around. Very thoughtful as it weighs 40-50 pounds and about as tall as R2-D2. There is a LED bar at the top front edge that will glow different colors to indicate the current air quality; blue for good, going to green, yellow and red as it gets worse. There are pre-filters much like on a window air conditioner to grab the larger dust particles, which will greatly extend the life of the main filter. The top has a large clear colorful LCD screen on the top that provides info on how much dirt and VOC’s it is finding in the air. There are touch controls on the screen as well that respond well. These would not doubt prove attractive to kids and curious adults alike. Blueair thought of this too as the controls can be locked out and panel’s brightness controlled within the app along with the fan speed. There is a historical graph of what the filter has been finding in the air you breathe. You can choose Day, week, or a monthly graph view. On startup the fan speed is set to Automatic. After it ran a bit the fan speed went to high, which is fairly loud to be in the room with. There was little dust found, but the VOC levels were pinned into the red. After a few hours of this, I lowered the fan speed in the app to about medium which was barely audible. On low you don’t know its running standing 3’ away. I setup up a schedule for it to run on max at night and around medium during the day. The VOC’s slowly decreased over a few days now remain in the blue for Excellent. I’ve set the unit back to Automatic mode and it mostly runs at an inaudible low speed, with an occasional bump up now and then, I guess when it find something. But not to max or so high to be objectionable. The graph shows its keeping up with dust and VOC’s just fine, showing Excellent much of the time, which is really great considering my room is a 126 sq. ft. over its recommended limit. Really more since there are stairs to the upstairs and the bedroom doors are often open. But does it make a difference? Yes, I’ve seen that it does. • My first aha moment was when I badly burned some food when cooking. This made allot of smoke. The air cleaner sensed it and kicked into high. The smoke and smell were soon gone, much faster than it would have otherwise dissipated. • I typically need to dust at least twice a week, the forced air heat and vacuuming make/move dust. I have not needed to dust in over a week, even in adjoining rooms of my 800 sq ft. downstairs, which is larger than this unit is rated for. So the air circulation from this must be working well to reach those other rooms. • It’s been a great help with that. And I can’t remember the last time I sneezed, less dust breathed in no doubt helps. It’s common for me to get a headache every week or two, but so far none. I could be on a good streak, or the lowered VOC’s may have helped. Hard to say after two weeks. • It filters out germs and bacteria. They are not claiming to filter out Covid, but lots of others. That’s not an empty marketing claim as with some others. They have third party lab results to back this up. Maybe there’s less chance I’ll get sick. That’s hard to prove, but it can’t hurt and any help is welcome. The pre-filters are effective. With dust. I check them every few days and so far I’ve cleaned them off at 5 and 14 days. Less dust as time goes on, which is on the right track. I’ve had this in use for 16 days and the app shows my filter lifetime at 96%. So far it’s looking like the filter could last nearly a year before it needs replacement. Allergy season may have a bigger effect than the dead of winter does though. If you subscribe to getting new filters from Blueair, which are discounted, you also get your warranty extended for free, which is a great value add. I’ve always been interested in getting one of these, but I’ve also always been skeptical that these can make a noticeable dent. Most of the air filters out there are smaller, so that had me skeptical. But I’m convinced that with a properly sized unit, you will see and feel a difference. I expect good things come the spring pollen season based on what I’ve seen so far. This unit should be high on your list of units to consider.

Really like this filter. The filter is easy to set up. Out of the box, you need to unwrap the included filter and reinstall in the unit. The unit is heavy, but it has rollers on the back and you can move it like a roll around suitcase. When you get it in an ideal spot, all you need to do is plug it in and turn it on. There is an app you can put on your smart phone. The app is easy to use and gives you air quality inside and outside and status on your filter. It is not required for the unit to work properly, but is useful. We have had it for over a week and I can see on the pre-filter that it is picking up my dog’s hair, which is a huge plus for us. I’m sure there it is picking up other stuff as well. One thing I have noticed is that cooking smells don’t seem to linger as long in the house. Overall, feel this is a great product and makes the air quality in our home better.

First impression was how large the unit is. Its not a small scale purifier. Its heavy duty. In addition to already being more aware of viruses and other airborne particles we have a relative at home that had a recent surgery. So keeping the air clean is of the utmost importance at the time and this is the perfect thing for that. But not just for that. It does so much more. In the box you get everything you need to get started and going. No need to purchases anything else. The build quality on the unit is amazing and almost looks like a high end PC or game console. Set up is very easy via the app. Just follow the apps instructions to get connected and get everything all set up. The app itself is easy to follow and use with all the info needed. Once set up it pretty much does the rest for you. The Germshield technology protects against viruses, germs, and other airborne bacteria. The Hepa filter also works great for our dogs. And there is a noticeable difference in the air quality just by the machine working to help keep our house clean from our pets. I love that it doesnt require a lot on the user end once it is set up. Although when it does require a filter change it is quite easy. And overall care, cleaning, and maintenance is easy as well. Overall I am quite happy with the Blueair. It has a solid and future looking build, ease of set up and maintaining, and does all the work for you. Its great to know our air quality is as good as it gets and we live in an area with a fire season. So when that inevitably happens we will also be able to have a layer of protection against the terrible air quality that occurs every year during that time. So in other words the peace of mind is worth it alone.

I've had this air purifier for over a week now and I really like this thing. Set up was a breeze, just take it out of box, open up the side panel to take the plastic off of the provided filter, retrieve the cord from the bottom of it, plug it in and turn it on. It's just that simple. The Blueair has a Wi-Fi feature that allows you the ability to monitor it. It's well built, quiet and looks elegant in any room. With what's going on in the world, having the peace of mind that the air I'm breathing in my home is 99.97% clear of airborne particles, put me at ease. The family has commented that our home just seems to smell fresher since we started using this air purifier and there seems to be less dust on things. I have to say that if you're looking for a way to get better air quality the Blueair 7770i is a must. I highly recommend this for use in any home.

I wasn't sure if an air purifier was right for our home, but after using it for a couple of weeks I'm really happy with it. We have a kitchen/family room area that doesn't get a lot of ventilation in the kitchen. As a result we usually have leftover kitchen smells from cooking. This BlueAir purifier works fantastic to minimize and remove all these odors. This purifier includes a large HEPA filter that filters out smoke, dust particles and airborne particles including bacteria and viruses. It also includes GermShield technology that kills the germs that are caught by the filter. You can run it in manual mode or automatic mode. In manual mode you can set the fan speed and turn it on or off as you need. In auto mode, the purifier constantly monitors the air quality in two different ways. Particulates like dust and dander and gases. The levels of each are displayed on the top front of the control panel. They will change color as the air purity changes to let you know the status of your air quality. When we cook or clean, the air quality levels change as more dust or cooking smells are put into the air. It will show you in real time the air quality level and ramp up the fan in order to clean the air faster. It will continue to monitor and clean the air at the higher levels until the air quality is once again clean. This was something I was surprised to see and I was amazed at how the process worked. Using this air purifier has greatly improved the air quality in our kitchen family room area and we no longer have the residual cooking smells that we were used to having. The app that is available to download is very well laid out and gives you all the information right on your phone. It shows the outdoor air quality in your area, and the indoor status of all three particle sizes that are monitored, the total gases, the temperature and the humidity. It also shows the mode that the purifier is in for the GermShield, as well as the filter status as a percentage. The particulate and gas data is shown with a time graph so you can scroll back and see your past air quality. I didn't think I would be won over by an air purifier, but I am completely sold on this BlueAir machine. The build quality is really good. It has a sleek look and well thought out doors to change out the filter or access the interior. The top of the purifier has a beautiful touch display and the front air quality monitor lights can be dimmed as low as you want if you they are too bright. Very happy with all aspects of this purifier and its many surprise features. It's just one of those very well designed machines that does it's thing in the background without any intervention needed. Can't say enough.

My biggest problem with this unit was getting it out the box. They boxed this up to make sure it won't get damaged during shipping. After wrestling it out the box, I plugged it in and proceeded to look at the manuals. First thing I did was download the app, and hook everything up to Wi-Fi. I never have any problems with this unit and Wi-Fi the entire time I used it, which is everyday for about a week now. I haven't had a chance to clean my vents out in my house, and every time I turn on the heat, there's a lot of dust that comes out. I did have an air purifier that I paid about $300 for, and I can still see a lot of dust in the room when I turn the heat on and had that purifier on. It seemed like to me, it was just shuffling more dust around than before. After using this one, I'm glad to say that I haven't seen any dust, and my room smells fresh and clean for some reason LOL. I use my app to adjust the fan speeds throughout the day to have it run low during the day, and on the max speed during the night. My only issue is that the unit blows out cold air and I wish you can adjust the temperature to warm or even hot! Plus, in the morning I wake up with mouth and nose being dry. It would also be great if they add a humidifier function to that, I don't think that's been done before. Overall, I would definitely recommend this to a friend and would definitely purchase it again!

We could not be happier with this product. It has really made a difference in my wife's life inside of our house. Every time she would walk in from outside she would have these sneeze attacks. They have completely disappeared since we have begun using this product. This item is fairly large and comes in a big box. It is pretty much ready to use out of the box, after you take the filters out of the plastic and whatnot. The app is easy to download and while it looks a little confusing, is easy to use. Once you get signed up and sync the unit with the app, you are ready to go. It is as easy as that. Upon turning it on, we could see the air quality through the app. It pulls information from a nearby monitoring location to give you an idea of what the outdoor air quality is vs. indoor. The air quality in my house was good, but there was definitely room for improvement. This product got it down to almost zero. Like I said, my wife's issues have all but disappeared. She cleans the prefilter once a week and makes sure this thing is doing it's job. We highly recommend.

I've said this before, but I'm going to say it again, the way to judge a product is by the results. After using this for two weeks now, the results have been outstanding. We are enjoying clean, fresh and healthy air. We are proud pet-parents, so it goes to say that we struggle a bit when it comes to allergen-free air. We have used other air-purifiers in the past, and the results have been marginal at best. The purifiers typically found themselves shoved into a spare room, and from there into the garage sale. However, the Blueair HealthProtect 7770i Smart HEPASilent Ultra Germ Air Purifier has been a game-changer for us, and will not be making its way into the spare room anytime in the near future...at least until we buy another Blueair when we wear this one out! At first glance after it was delivered, we were a bit apprehensive. It was a bit larger than we anticipated, but no big deal there. It is also a bit heavy, which we were pleased with because it indicated it was more than just a bit of plastic with some cheap components like many of the others we have purchased in the past. It is easy to move around though due to the well-thought-out design that incorporates two wheels to make movement super easy. And the display is so full of information! But after a quick tutorial through the quick start guide, and one or two online videos, we were ready and willing to put this machine to use. After setting it up (a super easy process!), and turning it on, the first thing we noticed was what we DIDN'T notice...and that was noise. This unit is super quiet, so quiet that at first we thought it was broken and not working. Now, when it is super quiet in the house, you can barely hear it on the lowest setting, but it is the air flow and not the motor. At higher speeds the noise level increases, but not to a level that is anywhere close to bothersome. So we placed it where we wanted it, and let it do its thing. I might add that it is quite sleek and modern, and makes a great addition to the Family Room. We noticed a remarkable difference after just a few days The typical sniffles and sometimes itchy noses had completely disappeared. And the air was noticeably fresher. As the days progressed, so did the quality of the air. We just didn't know how good fresh, clean air could be! The controls are exceptionally easy to navigate on the display, as well as the visual indicators of air quality. While preparing "smoky" foods, the Blueair told us exactly what it was processing. Even with less smoky cooking, we noticed a change in the air quality (the Family Room is right next to the Kitchen). Also, when we open the door to the outside, the Blueair unit display will change to let us know what is going on with the air. As I started out, the way to judge a product is by its performance, and we have been so happy and excited by the Blueair's performance that we would happily give it a ten-star rating if it was possible. I often give a list of Pros and Cons when I do reviews, but in this case everything about it is a Pro, and we have yet to discover one Con. The proof is in the outstanding performance of the Blueair HealthProtect 7770i Smart HEPASilent Ultra Germ Air Purifier. I would heartily recommend this product to anyone who is looking for an exceptional air purifier at a cost that is quite reasonable and affordable considering all the many health benefits it provides!!

Standing at almost 34” tall, the BlueAir 7770i is a fairly large device. Setup was simple, download the app, follow the steps to add your device and you’re in business. I found this air purifier to be very quiet on the lowest setting, on it’s highest setting, you can hear the fan, but the noise level is acceptable. I ran 2 tests, first, I placed it in my large kitchen/dining area.  We have the unit set to “Automatic” and it is on 24/7. When I cook or shortly after I’m done cooking, the Health Protect automatically senses higher amounts of particles/pollutants and turns up the setting and the LED bar that is normally blue to indicate low pollutants, turns yellow, to give you a visual indicator, which I like.  In the BlueAir app, in addition to being able to control the air filter speed, it gives you an air quality chart as well as history, you can go back days, week or even months. In my second test, I placed the Health Protect in the basement, where I was doing a bit of sanding and painting. After I painted a nearby wall with latex paint, again, the LED turned from blue to green, I also noticed the chart on the app spiked up. Then I did a bit of sanding about 10’ away. Minutes later, the LED light turned yellow and the chart on the app spiked up more. When researching which air purifier to purchase, the most important factor is CADR (clean air delivery rate). CADR reflects the volume of clean air that an air purifier can produce at its highest speed setting. The higher the CADR, the faster and more efficient the air purifier is. A CADR above 280 is considered excellent by Consumer Reports. The CADR for this Blue Air filter is 435 cfm for pollen and smoke. Over 400 for dust. Unfortunately, I cannot test this for pollen as it is winter where I am. I suffered from seasonal allergies, I hope this filter will alleviate that. Overall, I am very impressed by this air purifier, I was a bit skeptical initially. But after the 2 tests I ran, it proves that the HealthProtect is working and doing its job. It actually knows when the air is bad. I will be purchasing an additional unit for my bedroom.

By far, the best air purifier that I have used overall. I wish it had a True HEPA filter and more diverse versions of the air filters for this machine. I have been using it overseas in Kuwait where it is extremely polluted and I have pure fresh air inside my residence even during the worst sandstorms. I even bought 2 more for my home back in the US.
