Bluetooth headsets have evolved in so many ways I have a ton of pictures of myself with early bluetooth headsets that will never see the light of social media day. With all the growth bluetooth headsets have seen, somehow the Blueparrott B250 - XTS is still left with so many opportunities for improvement. As far as design, I feel the B250 have major opportunities for improvement. The cover for the headphone side of the headset is made of that old foamish material, which, for long sessions doesn’t feel comfortable. If it’s hot, like here in Texas and you sweat? Not a pleasant experience. The non-headphone side of the headset just ends above my other ear. Maybe its a bias because we’ve spent so much time either with earbuds or two earphones covering our ears, but I don’t like the one ear design. That impacts sound quality which I’ll speak on later. Initial setup with the B250 is super easy. Hold the power button to cut them on, connect to your phone via Bluetooth. Just like that, you’re ready to go. Once you actually get going you run into other issues. Like sound quality. Calls sound tinny. Add on the fact that you only have on earphone. While you have the audio from your calls coming in on one side, a side which your ear isn’t plugged with an earbud, or completely covered and surround by the earphone and cushion like most over the head headsets, the other ear is completely free. So the sound on the one ear isn’t the greatest and definitely not great enough to leave the other ear free. People I’ve talked to with the B250s say they hear me fine, which is good, and I can hear them, but it’s just not a solid experience. Dealing with audio other than calls. Like music, not something I’d recommend. While overall the ease of use for the Blueparrott B250 - XTS headset may appeal to some, I don’t feel like other headsets are complex enough to sacrifice the sound quality and feature of other products.

For a truck driver, is not recommended go with the blue parrot 350 or bigger. This one is good for office space.

I manage a remote team for work, which leads to a lot of phone calls. Having a headset makes it easier to continue conversations while leaving my hands free to access information on my computer. The B250-XTS is lightweight and comfortable to wear for long periods of time. I can clearly hear my callers, and they can hear me clearly. Whether its’s the sound of my typing on my laptop and various environmental sounds (dogs barking, traffic, car alarms) from working at home, the mic filters it out. I’m much more at ease talking to clients since I know the call won’t be disturbed by outside noise. It was easy to pair with my Android phone, but the Bluetooth range could be improved. If I leave the room with the headset on and don’t take my phone with me, I have issues with the connection dropping. It’s lightweight and comfortable to wear all day. I get a full day of moderate use on a single charge. I charge it each evening, but I feel like I could get at least another half a day out of it if needed.

The BlueParrott - B250-XTS Noise-Cancelling Headset joins a growing number of headsets targeting those for whom taking phone calls while working at the computer (or other settings) makes it essential to have a hands-free phone solution. In the past, these kinds of headsets were primarily aimed at those working at call centers or customer support. Today, they are being developed for broader application. For myself, I am a ‘medium’ user. My weekly schedule includes a few pre-arranged phone calls which often last up to an hour. I have other times I set aside specifically for making phone calls. I usually make these calls while working at my computer and have found using these kinds of headsets provides a big improvement over relying on having my phone on ‘speaker’. Although I’m usually in a relatively quiet environment, that’s not always the case, so having the noise-cancelling feature for those on the other end of the ‘line’ is extremely helpful. A key thing to remember when gleaning through reviews of these headsets is the fact that they will inevitably differ according to individual usage-scenarios and preferences. This will be very subjective. The objective aspects will be a matter of what features are offered and how well they work. So, what do I think of the B250? I like that it’s light, very simple to use, and has good noise-cancelling for those I call. For my use, I do not like the fact that it barely fits my head when fully-extended; the non-headset side feels uncomfortable against my head; the headset side feels too small for my ear - though it is functional; there is no ‘lift-to-mute’ feature for when you swing the mic up; you cannot program the primary button on this model, though the BlueParrott app indicates other models offer that feature. In addition, it is uncomfortable for me to wear for extended periods of time. Due to what I’ve shared above - and the fact that there are better offerings available in this price-range - I cannot recommend this product. However, for you and your needs, it may be worth a closer look.

This is advertised as a phone or mobile product headset, and for good reason. The controls are designed for use with a mobile product. Since it is Bluetooth, it will connect to a laptop or desktop with Bluetooth. I connected it to both my phone and laptop, since we use Teams for work, I wanted a smooth transfer between devices. It works great, even with Windows. Sound quality was great, especially for one earpiece. Somehow the noise cancellation works even with your other ear open. The hardest thing to review for a headset is the sound on the other end of the call. My coworkers said it sounded like I was in the same room, better than most of the other mics that were in use. All of this from an unsupported OS. Needless to say, big plus on that. As for use with a phone, definitely install the Blue Parrot app. The initial update is almost mandatory. The app is quite basic and easy to find what you need. Four buttons across the bottom with everything where you would expect to find it. The range is very impressive, being able to use with phone and laptop makes the range even crazier for me in use with Teams. As for comfort, there are two earpieces to chose from (foam and pleather) and two mic covers. I like that it is ambidextrous and simple controls. The boom mic is adjustable and can go to either side. I prefer my mic and earpiece on my right hand side. The voice in the headset is discrete enough that you can hear the call even when the voice says something or beeps. An example is the second device connects or you are on mute. This is designed to connect to up to two devices at the same time. Very easy setup. My only wish would be auto mute when raising the boom arm. Other than that, barking dogs in the background could not be heard in the calls I have been on. Even when the dogs were in the same room as me. Overall a great headset, especially if you like having one ear open. When using noise cancelling headphones, I feel like I am talking in a tunnel or tin can. So I LOVE one earpiece! Love this headset.

The BlueParrott B250-XTS noise cancelling headset is a basic single speaker on the ear type headset which seamlessly paired with my Windows 10 laptop and automatically was configured for music and voice. This headset features a boom microphone to pickup your voice, you can flip the boom up. The microphone picks up your voice without a lot of background interference, the noise cancelling is passive and works about as well as you would expect. In loud office or call center environments I am not sure how this unit would perform, but for work from home use it seems functional and effective. There are buttons on the side which allow you to answer and hang up calls, adjust the volume and allow you to pair via Bluetooth. I thought the side controls were a little large, but in comparison to other headsets I have used the functional buttons were easy to identify and press. How does the headset sound? I thought it was clear, but a little less lifelike than I would prefer, voices on Zoom and Teams meeting I attended varied, the sound was weighted towards the high and mid range frequency so for clarity it was fine, but certainly voices were not “rich”. The unit charges via a USB-C plug which is pretty much universal these days. Battery life was fairly good, but I have yet to really test out how the charge would last on a meeting heavy day. I didn’t find this headset to be very comfortable and since I have a large head, it seemed like the side which clamps to the other side of your head even when fully adjusted, seemed short and sat almost midway to the top of my head, almost to the point where they felt insecure. Having a small to medium size head would work best and you may find the fit satisfactory. As for range, I went about two walls and 50 feet away from my laptop and started to have range issues with digital artifacts, so these might work well in an environment where you do not roam too far from the device you have this paired to. My overall impression of the headset is that it is serviceable for most users, however I do find it to be less ergonomically comfortable than others I have used. Today I am reviewing the BlueParrot B250-XTS noise cancelling headset. I currently have two different BlueParrot headsets, one for work and one for home. When I saw the B250-XTS, I realized it might be a good addition to the other two. Additionally, it might connect to 2 of my amateur radios, allowing me to go hands free while driving. First Impression: My initial impression of the headset is that it is very well made. Unlike my other headset, it has a metal headband instead of a padded one. The plastic pieces feel solid and able to withstand use in an automobile. Also, the button side is quite a bit bulkier. Personally, I like the bulky side because while reviewing it, I had zero problems finding the correct button quickly when answering or ending calls. The speaker does not go in the ear but sits on the ear. The padding is quite comfortable. The headset comes with a foam earpiece cover, but I find the original one more comfortable. The mic and speaker are adjustable so the headset can easily be moved from one side of the head to the other. The mic and speaker are easy to adjust but stay in place once moved. Unlike my other headsets, the mic doesn’t sit in front of my mouth, but on the side. This is nice because if I am drinking coffee or eating something, I don’t have to continually move the mic out of the way. Also, it helps reduce the popping noises from speaking directly into the mic. However, without the windscreen, you can still hear yourself breathing. Use the windscreen! It’s not as comfortable as my other headset, but it’s not bad by itself. But using it with my Shokz headset or my hearing aids is uncomfortable. App: The BlueParrot B250-XTS uses an app called My BlueParrot. This app is used to register the headset, enable and configure SMS text readout, update the firmware, and display headset status. The status such as battery level and volume does not change in real time; you must go to a different screen and go back to see the change. Once the headset is configured, you won’t need the app again unless you want to update the firmware. Initial Setup: I tested the headset with my Samsung S22 Ultra. My primary review is for phone usage. You can also play music through it, and for a phone headset, it sounded pretty good. But I don’t like single-earpiece headsets for music. I was going to also pair it with my Yealink T46U VoIP phone, but it doesn’t have a Bluetooth adapter. I checked for a firmware update through the app. The firmware was current. I also enabled the SMS reading feature. I thought this would be a great feature, especially for use in my truck. But after about 2 hours, I went back in and disabled it. It is a good feature but needs to be able for me to select if I want to have the headset read it. I get a lot of texts and emails, and it reads the entire thing. Charging: I charged the headset before turning it on. The initial charge took 45 minutes. After using the headset all day, the battery level stayed at 100%. After 3 days of mild use, the battery level was still at 100%. I am absolutely amazed at the battery life on this headset. The specs say 20 hours of talk time, but with a few exceptions, my use looks to be about a week at a minimum between charging. Sound quality: I made my first call, and the audio was weak. The app showed the audio level as 100%. I clicked on the Settings button and then went back to the Home button and the audio was only 52%. I brought it up to 100% with the side buttons and it was too loud. So, the headset can produce audio levels loud enough for moderately noisy rooms. The noise cancellation reduces noise 91%, so these headphones will do good for most people. The audio quality is very good. This headset is a communications headset, and the audio quality reflects that. Voice audio is very clear and clean. It isn’t crisp, which is good, because that can be very tiring. I could wear this headset all day with heavy telephone use, and my ears wouldn’t get tired. When asked, people reported good transmit audio from my end. On one call, I was outside in low-moderate winds, and the windscreen did a good job of eliminating wind noise. Conclusion: I like this headset. It is comfortable to wear and has really good audio quality. The buttons on the side are big and spaced out enough to easily detect which button you are looking for. The microphone quality sounds good at the distant end, and the mic being on the side of the mouth helps eliminate microphone popping. If I could change anything, it would be to the SMS talking feature. I really like the SMS feature, but I would like to see the feature modified so that I could select with one of the buttons if I wanted to hear it. If you are looking for a good headset at a good price, then I highly recommend this headset. If you wear hearing aids or use bone conduction headphones, you might find these headphones uncomfortable.

Working in a coffee factory tends to get noisy and I'm not always at my desk to answer calls. I needed something that would cut through the noise and the ear buds weren't working out. That's why I decided on this Blue Parrott Noise cancelling headset. First impressions, it doesn't look very aesthetically pleasing though the design appears functional and the buttons easy to press. The larger multifunction button is easy to find without looking for it; it handles power on/off, answer/end call, and Bluetooth pairing. The boom mic is bidirectional so you can switch ears based on preference. Adjusting the headband proved difficult as it feels very tight any way you put it and, as a result, causes pressure at the cushion area. I'm hopeful this will ease up as time passes though I hope sooner than later. Call quality is very good, customers detect only minimal background noise, not sure if that's 91% reduction, but good enough. I like that I can connect my personal phone and work phone simultaneously. It's great for video calls in noisy areas where I would usually have my face up against the microphone on the phone obscuring the purpose of the call. Bluetooth connection works every time with connectivity distance being better than usual. Aside from the tight fit, I think this headset is a good buy.

**The only con to this headset is that it’s bulky. I don’t like the piece over the head but I understand it serves its purpose in supporting the earpiece. Now, on to the good stuff! I have never experienced such crisp and clear sound quality on a phone call. I probably spent a total of 12 hours using this headset on phone calls. I asked each caller if they could hear any of the background noises and none of them could. I had taken calls outside, in an auto repair waiting room, brewery and a pizza place just to name a few of the noisier spots I had been. Wearing the headset wasn’t cumbersome at all. It was surprisingly comfortable, I just didn’t like it esthetically. For the noise cancelling quality this headset offers, I understand the need for the design. My calls were to people in similar settings as I was. A friend who is a trucker was driving on a call I made to him. I wasn’t able to hear any of the noise from the cabin or his music he had playing although the volume was low. It was a perfectly clear phone call! If you make a lot of calls and value sound quality is highly recommend this headset.
