Customers are saying

Customers often highlight the impressive noise cancellation and long battery life of the B250-XTS headset, with many praising its clear microphone quality for calls. However, some users found the headset less comfortable for extended wear and experienced issues with the fit, particularly for those with glasses or larger heads. A few also noted the lack of a convenient mute function. Overall, the positive feedback on sound quality and battery life outweighs the concerns about comfort and features.

So I received my BlueParrott - B250XTS Noise Cancelling Headset a few days ago and have been putting it through its paces. The headset is pretty standard headset that you would see someone like a receptionist that answers a lot of calls would use throughout the day. The headset features a thin headband and a small on-ear cuff for the right ear. On the right side of the earcuff is the mic boom arm that is adjustable as well as the power button and volume buttons. Also included is a USB-A to USB-C charging cable that connects just under the earcuff. To get started just power on the headset by pressing and holding down the power button. Once in Bluetooth pairing mode, ensure that your mobile device (cell phone, laptop, or tablet) is also in Bluetooth pairing mode and select the B250-XTS device in the Bluetooth settings to connect. Once connected you're good to go. I was impressed with the clarity of the call. Other callers could tell that I was wearing a headset however they noted that sounded perfectly fine. I recommend this headset for someone that answers calls throughout the day or someone that has a work from home office/business.

BlueParrott - B250-XTS works as expected Hardware - Feels durable, comes with extra microphone and earpiece foam pieces. Button and ease of connecting and usability is very straight forward. Works flawlessly with my phone. I am able to hear clearly without fail. Comfortability - Headset feels great to wear. Headband is adjustable to feel more secure or looser if needed. Microphone - Had a conversation with my brothers and sister with this headset, very clear and no issues when outdoors or indoors. Very clear voice and able to hear without fail. Easy to use controls to mute, turn volume up and down and easily connects. I used it for my phone for a few days and was very pleased in the call quality during those calls. I would recommend using this headset for making phone calls and ability to both hear and to speak clearly with your family and business co-workers to make sure they can hear you without fail. This device is very durable and able to be used in places where you might think you couldn't. Definitely a plus.

Headsets have changed since the 1980s. Here's why

This is a throwback to an era of headphones which is better left behind. Aesthetics: When you are wearing this, you look like you are working in a call center. Headphones have come a long way since the 1980s. The only update you can see with this is having bluetooth rather than requiring a hardwire connection to a landline. Audio: It's fine. There's really nothing to say here other than that any cheap earbuds will have equivalent audio quality, and are likely to be better depending on the fit. Noise-Cancelling: Yes, it does have noise cancelling, but is this useful or meaningful when one ear is left completely open? Not at all. Comfort: Not great for long periods. For most calls I use a Shox OpenCom headset which is comfortable for hours, does a good job of focusing on my voice and excluding background noise, and is also open-ear. There's a reason everyone has moved past this style of tension support holding it on your head. Focus on the voice: It does a good job with this. I walked around outside and did some chores while on the phone. It does pick up close sounds like when I was sweeping or doing other cleaning, but it does a good job of blocking out sounds that are further away like birds or passing cars. The people I was talking to didn't know I was outside at all. This raises the question of using it in a loud area as they seem to indicate it is designed for. If it's not blocking out close sounds, how is this going to work in a busy office? Probably not well. Thankfully, I work from home so I don't have occasion to test this, but I wouldn't rely on it. Battery: Sure, it's likely to last 20 hours. For an office headset, is it really necessary to go beyond 10? Maybe 12?

Hello MurphyR - Thank you for taking the time to post your review of the BlueParrott B250-XTS headset.  While you are correct in saying that a noise-cancelling headset is not particularly helpful when one ear is left open, this refers to a headset with Active Noise Cancellation (ANC).  ANC limits the amount of your ambient noise that you can hear.  The BlueParrott B250-XTS headset provides up to 91% of noise cancellation of your ambient noise that your caller can hear.  This is especially useful if you work in a noisy environment (trucking/warehouse industry).  If you have any specific questions or concers, we are happy to help.  Just contact our Support Team by calling 262-732-2109 or completing the webform found on our site at https://bit.ly/3rxTtk1.  Thanks again! The BlueParrot - B250-XTS Noise-Cancelling Headset is a headset marketed towards people working in high noise environments that need to make crystal clear calls. Boasting the ability to block out 91% of background noise this headset does a great job of getting rid of background noise without affecting call quality. While I feel like this claim is justified, and the person listening to your conversation will enjoy the high quality noise cancellation, I don't think it takes into account the user experience of using this headset. There is only a single speaker on this headset, so while the microphone does a great job of blocking background noise, there is nothing blocking that noise for the user. This means that all of the noise in your environment will be affecting the user's hearing and will require them to turn the speaker up very loud to be able to hear the conversation of the person that they are talking to. BlueParrot also advertises the comfort of this headset due to it's light weight and adjustability, but in my experience the headband and single speaker makes this headset squeeze very tightly on my head and very quickly becomes uncomfortable. I also have an issue with the metal headband due to being bald it feels like the headband is scratching my head as I adjust it. I honestly can not recommend this as I feel it falls short in some very important areas, for people who need a noise cancelling headset for work in high noise environments I would look somewhere else.

Hello jonnyd2885 - Thank you for taking the time to post your thoughts about the BlueParrott B250-XTS headset.  We are sorry to learn that you find the product to be uncomfortable to wear and you dislike the single-ear headset experience.  If the noise in your environment is too loud, it may be beneficial for you to wear hearing protection, at least in the ear without the speaker, as prolonged exposure to loud environments can harm hearing over time.  We hope you will consider other BlueParrott models, such as the S650-XT which provides coverage of both ears with similar features for noise cancellation, etc.  Thanks again for your review.
