Borderlands 3 is a great sandbox type looter/shooter, and is a welcome addition to the series. A typical player can expect to clock in around 40 hours in a playthrough if they're doing a decent amount of side quests. A completionist run should last around 60 or so hours. This means while it doesn't have the amount of content that the previous installment did, it still gives you plenty of bang for your buck. If you've played either of the previous titles, you know what to expect. It's a very solid experience, but not "revolutionary" in any way, hence why I couldn't warrant giving it a 5 star rating.

The best online multiplayer shooter out there! This game is so fun, has a great sense of humor and lots of guns!

I've been playing borderlands on and off for a couple weeks now. I haven't finished it yet, but I feel I've gone far enough to give a fair enough commentary of it. If you're a fan of the previous entries in the series, then you're going to like this one too. If borderlands was fun for a play through, but hard to come back to then you might find this game has worn out its welcome a bit. To explain, I feel that this is the apex borderlands game. All the writing, action, and loot is exactly what you'd want from borderlands and is done at a consistently high level. The problem lies in how you feel about borderlands in general. If you feel like the jokes get old and the combat is repetitive; if the thought of loot farming doesn't excite you, then this game probably won't either. The frame drops and random lag when navigating menus and maps certainly doesn't help things, but could possibly be sorted out through future patches. Right now it's not frequent enough to put me off entirely, but it does pull me out of the experience enough times to worth mentioning. Overall the game is lots of fun if you want a run and gun loot fest with some sillier throwback jokes thrown in. If that doesn't sound great, then it's probably not for you. But if it does, then you'll get more than your money's worth.

One of the best shooters ever! The comic book esthetic is great, the world is huge and filled with lots of missions. I love the humor in borderlands games and this one is no exception. Fun to play solo or online with friends. I didn’t think they could top borderlands 2 but they little touches they added to combat and character movement have had a huge impact to the overall gameplay. Highly recommend to anyone who is a fan of shooters and RPGs!

Free upgrade to ps5, fun campaign, and a blast to play with friends. My first borderlands game and it's been fun leveling up and trying new guns. FYI it does tie in to previous games with the supporting characters, but the story/bad guys are new to this game. I've been playing frequently with myself and with friends for a few weeks now and I still haven't finished the main story or its side missions yet. Got the game on a sale so it was a STEAL!!!

Borderlands 3 is finally here play it is one of the most fun games i ever played

I’ve been a fan of the Borderlands series since it began and I love the graphics, the missions and the lack of major glitches when I play the PS5 version! I’d recommend this game even if you have already completed it on another gaming system because it seriously continues to reign.

Let me get this out of the way now. If you’re not a fan of Borderlands this game isn’t going to change your mind. However if you like the series this one is probably the best so far. There are so many improvements that help this game play better than what’s come out before. It really is peak of the franchise and perfected formula. The dialogue is annoying and the characters don’t know how to shut the hell up. But the core gameplay is fantastic.

This game is an instant classic, you will not be disappointed.

Gameplay: If you ever played any of the previous Borderlands games, the gameplay loop is exactly what you would expect. There are some nice little minor additions like the new slide mechanic, and planet hopping, but its the same Borderlands you either love it or hate it. If you are a fan of the series this purchase is a no brainer. The items all have a sort of Gearscore now but its only marginally useful as you can have items with half the gearscore value doing twice the damage. Basically Diablo as an FPS with juvenile jokes for those unfamiliar with Borderlands. Story: I was not a real big fan of the main story, without spoilers there are a lot of dumb decisions made by characters and way too many GOTCHAS that happen. However there are several REALLY good side quests. Some are just plain old funny takes on current things. Of the side quests there are two that came way out of left field that are going to stick with me for a long time as they are very emotionally touching. Functionality (WOOF): The truly bad thing about this game is the UI is currently kind of a glitchy mess. For one, I have the game installed on an SSD on a PS4 Pro and even still when opening up the Skill/Inventory menu in single player the game just slows to a crawl and takes like 20 seconds. Multiplayer is ridiculously worse. Besides the severe UI lag when in the inventory menu, the images of guns and equipment desync with the inventory slots. For example you'll see an image of a shield but it is actually a Shotgun you are hovering over because you can see the damage is like 230x14 etc. You'll end up going crazy trying to mark an item to sell or equip. (Pro tip use the L/R triggers to sort and it fixes it until the next time you enter the screen). Hopefully they patch these problems.

If you've never played Borderlands, it's a first person shooter with a lot of guns, quests (sometimes they feel like a chore), more guns, and includes dialogue that might not be for everyone. The humor is aimed at a specific age group so if you're playing the humor to have aged with you, look elsewhere. That being said, I was alright with the overall dialogue. Graphically it looks good. The cel shaded look generally looks great and this is no exception

I normally have a game night with friends about every other week. This time we decided to give Borderlands 3 a try for our game night. I have to say it was really impressive. the online gaming for multiplayer was really fun. the cartoon type graphics are a refreshing change from other games trying to be hyper-realistic. overall it's a great buy for such a cheap price.

This game is exactly what you would expect from a Borderlands game. Insane (literally) characters, tons of guns, and lots of humor and sarcasm. If you enjoyed the first two, you will enjoy this one. It very much feels like another chapter to the game and I cannot tell too many changes to the core gameplay and styles.

If you have played the other borderlands games, you will know what to expect as the basic formula of gameplay, loot, and crude humor that fans of the series have come to expect all make a triumphant return. Basically, if you liked the other games, you will sink hours into this one as well.

PS4 disc with a free upgrade to the Playstation 5 version, Borderlands 3 is more of the same with this series, in a great way. Graphically, it's a beautiful game on the PS5 with a smooth framerate and a wonderful looking HDR image. If you're fan of previous Borderlands games, this is well worth your time to seek out.
