This is an excellent machine for cleaning dishes. I never really believed that you could put dishes into the dishwasher with hardened food, so I tried it out. I did scrape off anything that came right off, the rest really did come clean in the wash. I can't give it 5 stars however, due to the same problem stated by others. The rack design is not good at all. The top rack is ok, not as good as it could be, but the bottom is really not good at all. If there are a lot of items of different sizes, bowls, pots and pans, etc ., you will find that 2 washes are probably needed. The 14 place settings that the manufacturer says you can load only holds true if it is only flat plates that you are using. I still give 4 stars as the machine is extremely quiet and does clean so well. If you aren't used to a digital control, read the manual to be sure of proper operation as it can be confusing at first. I have already recommended this to 2 others who have bought and are happy with it.

This dishwasher was an upgrade for our family, so we appreciate that it runs quietly, cleans thoroughly, and can hold more items. Our one complaint is that the lower rack runs off the guide all the time (unless you pull the rack out with extreme care).

Even though this is a basic model Bosch dishwasher, it has all the choices I need. My dishes and pans and cutlery is getting nice and clean. And, the unit is very quiet. The rinse-aid refill indicator is great ! I found that selecting 'Sanitize' helps prevent water remaining on items after the cycle is completed. 'Auto wash' + 'Sanitize' is what I use the most. The racks take some getting used to because the tines are slanted. But once I loaded the racks a few times and determined which sections needed to be folded up or down, I was comfortable loading most items. Taller stemmed glasses are tricky while shorter ones fit very well in the glass rack holder. All things considered, I think this is a very efficient dishwasher.

    So Far So Good

The problem with writing reviews on a new appliance is that there isn't enough time to really know how reliable the product is over the long term. But the time we, as consumers, start running into problems a bit down the line, newer models are out. So far I've been extremely pleased with this dishwasher. I have heard some horror stories from people I know about reliability problems with Bosch. So far, no problems (after a couple of months). The dishwasher is very quiet, but the one it replaced was from the early 1960's which was so loud that that you could hear it from the outside of the house. So just about anything will sound better than that! I rarely hear the dishwasher running, so that's a great sign. Dishes come out sparkling clean. I wasn't used to not having to thoroughly rinse the dishes before putting them in the dishwasher. I've put some pretty crusty dishes in there and they've come out completely clean. This is a very cheaply built dishwasher. I believe Consumer Reports may have said this had a plastic tub but other stainless steel parts. It definitely wasn't the door because the inside, while it looks like stainless, is actually plastic. But this is a very inexpensive dishwasher so I wouldn't expect it to be more solid than it is. I don't like the flatware basket on the side. I wish they had designed it so I could open the door part way and put in the silverware. Instead, the door has to be opened all the way and the bottom rack pulled out put in silverware. So far I haven't seen many problems with this item, but I did buy an extended warranty, just in case. While Consumer Reports frowns upon these warranties I feel that these appliances are filled with electronic circuit boards which can get fried in an electrical storm or even a simple electrical surge. I service call with parts and labor could end up costing as much as the dishwasher, so I felt the warranty was worth it. I look it as insurance. Maybe I won't use it, but it's nice to have if something does go wrong.

Bought this to replace the DW that came with our house. (An old, bare-bones model that didn't clean well and was leaking rusty water recently.) This machine is a serious upgrade. More room to stack dishes, plenty of built-in versatility, and no need to rinse dishes. (We use to have to practically wash everything first.) It's quiet, too. I love that it's mostly steel inside vs. plastic. The option to double up on cups with the fold-down shelf is great. Love the durability of the silverware holder. We installed the machine ourselves, so this may be something we didn't get quite right, but the door is a bit hard to open. Not impossible by any means, but it feels like it's sticking more than it should, maybe? It's not a smooth open. Ours is *not* wet inside after washing, as some of the older reviews say. (We use the automatic setting.) Love this dishwasher!

This Bosch dishwasher is, as it claims, very quiet. I find that it does a great job of cleaning, better than I was expecting. I do have to agree with other reviewers in that the rack design is not the best. Bosch states that you can fit 14 place settings in this machine. This is true if you only use plates that are flat. Bowls and odd sized pieces take up so much space that you can really only do one or the other if you have a full load. I find it holds about half to 2/3 as much as my (very) old kitchenaid that it replaced. I still give it 4 stars because it cleans so well. For me, it is worth having to do an extra load now and then.

Pros: Inexpensive, easy to use, so far look to wash dishes just fine, very quiet. Cons: no heated dry so the dishes need to sit a while, bottom rack comes off track constantly, typical washing cycle takes over 2 hours, awkward dish rack spacing. Overall, if you are looking for a cheap dishwasher without frills and can wait 3-4 hours this will be suitable. I would recommend a higher tier unit if you can afford it.

Bought this as a replacement for an 18 year old Bosch. Installation was very easy. I did not like the upper connection to the cabinet that would have required drilling into my granite counter. Improvised instead. The old DW had a different bracket on top that did not require drilling into the counter from underneath. The other item we do not like is the racks. The vertical prongs are spaced closer together than they were in the old one, and it is not as easy to load. The machine does work well. More than the old one, it seems to prefer the little bricks of detergent to the powder.

It is new. It was available in black. It fits. It is quiet. It replaces a similar Bosch. I am not happy with racks. I should have saved the racks from the 15 year old Bosch dishwasher that it replaced. They would have fit... same rollers etc. Supply chain has resulted in many sub optimum selections as preferred items not available. BIGGEST PROBLEM WAS INSTALLATION. THIS WAS AVOIDABLE. I ORDERED THROUGH THE CONCIERGE AS A MEMBER OF TOTAL TECH - FREE DELIVERY AND INSTALLATION AND HAUL AWAY IS INCLUDED FOR MEMBERS. THE CONCIERGE DID NOT SCHEDULE THE INSTALL - ONLY DELIVERY AND IT TOOK ABOUT FOUR WEEKS TO GET THROUGH NUMEROUS CANCELLATIONS, RESCHEDULES AND A LOT OF CONFUSION ON THE PART OF EMPLOYEES. BEST BUY HAS GONE TOTALLY TO PHONE TREES. STORES HAVE NO PHONES. FINALLY AFTER SIX ATTEMPTS AND MANY DISAPPOINTING NO SHOWS FOR INSTALL... , I REACHED A CUSTOMER SERVICE PERSON AND THEY ACTUALLY KNEW THAT IT HAD TO BE A THIRD PARTY INSTALL DUE PLUMBING. IT WAS A HUGE TIME CONSUMER - MANY DAYS WAITING FOR NOTHING.

This Bosch dishwasher is extremely quiet & I love that! I can now hear the t.v. while the dishwasher is doing its job. Critiques: 2.5 hour cycle is too long. The door is heavy and muscles must be used to open. This would be hard for a younger child to do. And, after using it less than a month, there is a terrible odor which is causing the dishes to stink as well. I have no clue what the odor is or how to get rid of it. Hand washing is no fun! I will have to do some research & if I can't get the odor to leave, then I would not recommend this product. Otherwise, I'm happy with the purchase.

Prior to this we owned a Samsung dishwasher. Never again. Definitely spring for the Bosch! The Samsung was horrible at cleaning and only lasted one year before dying. Samsung was horrible to deal with, and pretty much ignored us. This one cleans SO much better and is extremely quiet. The cycle does take a little longer, but that's okay because it's cleaner.

We really like how quiet this dishwasher is, but it takes 2 hours and 20 minutes to do a full normal cycle with sanitized drying. It's a nice exterior design, although for some reason, it doesn't seem to hold as much as our previous dishwasher which was the same size. I think it's because of the design of the racks.

This has been a great dishwasher, so far. It either holds more or is better arranged than our old one, especially the lower rack. The utensil basket sits on the side and is very spacious and we have yet to have any flatware or utensils not come out clean. Dishes and glassware come out clean without needing to prewash them. It is very quiet during operation--just a faint gurgling of water as it fills. It can't be heard from the next room.

I bought this dishwasher after seeing it recommended on Consumer Reports. I cleans very well. I've only experienced a couple of washes where a few items were not quite clean, but it seemed to be related to particular food that was left on during the wash. The racks are a little challenging to load, but after some experimenting I've found what seems to work. It's just not as easy to load as past dishwashers. It is really quiet, and I hardly know that it's running. I'd buy it again.

This is an extremely quiet dishwasher; I had to put my ear near it to be sure it was running! I was somewhat surprised, however, at the length of the various washing cycles - some over two hours. It does a good job washing the dishes, glasses, etc., but requires a rinsing agent for maximum cleaning. I like the versatility of the rack adjustments.

This dishwasher is very quiet. I am pleased with the cleanliness of the dishes. This dishwasher dries by condensation, so it is best if you run your loads overnight. In addition most of the cycles are very long compared to other dishwashers I have had in the past.

I am very happy with my new Bosch dishwasher! It cleans my dishes and glasses beautifully, and it operates so quietly! It also looks great with my other kitchen appliances. A couple of side notes are that it takes a long time to complete the normal cycle (2 hours!)...and since it doesn't have a heating element, it's necessary to leave the dishwasher open for a short while after washing in order to assure that no spots will be on the dishes & glasses, etc.

We've only had this dishwasher for a few weeks, but up to this point we are very happy with our purchase. Overall rating might get better or worse in the long run. Most cycles are long, but told it still uses less water than our old one which was probably close to 50 years old. Also told that this one won't last as long as the old one. Very quiet compared to previous appliance which sounded similar to a jet flying over the house.
