I purchased my Bosch dishwasher one month ago and so have had time to evaluate it. I love it! I had a Bosch dishwasher in another home and loved that one, too. It's beautiful, quiet and cleans dishes really well. In the owners manual, it's suggested that a rinse aid should be used, even if the dishwashing soap has it built in. They recommend using Finish. I did both and can't believe how clean the dishes are compared with my old dishwasher (a Whirlpool). So, now the con... the interior is large enough for us because I don't wash pots in it. The tines are spaced rather closely, making it harder to fit a lot of dishes and pots, too. I have thick dishes. Thinner plates (think Corelle) would definitely fit more, and more easily. Because that's not an issue for me, I gave the dishwasher a 5. Hope this helps!

Great value for the money. Just to old folks in our home and didn't require a "top of the line" dishwasher. Unit is quiet and is an excellent pot scrubber. Two drawbacks that kept the rating at 4 stars. The silverware baskets leave quite a bit to be desired ( I wish I had kept the baskets from our old washer). There is no drying function. the only way to dry the dishes is to insure that there is sufficient rinse agent and don't be in a hurry to unload the washer. Actually there is another item that needs mentioning. The wash time itself is 2 hours and 30 minutes. That's a long time. However, in the end, at the price and reliability, a great machine. We recommend it.

After reading a ton of reviews for dishwashers, I settled in on this Bosch. So far, it has outperformed the frigidaire we paid way more for years ago. It cleans the dishes exceptionally well and runs quietly. The tines are set closer together than what I was used too, but it holds more and still manages to clean the bowls with dried food even though they're loaded compactly. The only feature I'm not really liking is the latch because its loud when it closes and you have to give it a good tug to open it. Overall, it's a great value and I'm extremely pleased.

This dishwasher is so quiet and gets my dishes clean without having to rinse them. I do rinse them off when I know it will be a couple days before I run it. The dishwasher fits so many dishes that I don't have to run it every day like I did all my old dishwashers. Some people have problems with their dishes not drying but mine dry. I have the water at the tops of some cups/mugs that are shaped so the water pools at the top and can't run off, but other than that my dishes get dry. I don't do anything special. I literally just turn it on and press start. I don't change any settings.

The dishes come out clean every time - we've used the auto cycle mostly, but also the half load and the heavy-duty. The auto cycle takes about 2.5 hours, but it is quiet and effective. It took a while to get used to how to pull out the lower drawer of dishes w/o running off the track. We didn't like the idea of grasping the silverware by the bowls and tines as we removed them from the washer, so we folded down the grid over the trays.

    Worst purchase I ever made!

I purchased this dishwasher after our Maytag of 24 years died suddenly. This one held promise. It was highly reviewed and Bosch had a great reputation among dishwasher manufacturers. I was hopeful. The dishwasher is quiet – but that’s probably because it doesn’t clean. At first dishes came out with a little residue, but I thought it might be the soap. We changed detergents several times and followed the manufacturer’s recommended cleaning instructions. The dishes never really got as clean as the Maytag it replaced. After 2 years of use, the dishes stopped getting clean at all! After reaching out to Bosch, they sent a technician who told me that my now 3-year underused dishwasher (there are only 2 in this household) would cost more to repair than to replace! It needs a new pump -- a $99 part which Bosch said they would pay for -- but since it's out of warranty I was responsible for the labor. My bill would still be $425. The same dishwasher (which I would NEVER buy again) is available for sale locally NEW from a major appliance retailer for $450! Incredible. Why is there a world in which a BOSCH dishwasher doesn’t last 3 years? I’m going to have to trash this dishwasher (a total waste) and move on to something that actually works. I guarantee you, it won’t be a Bosch. Buyer beware.

We researched dishwashers through Consumer Reports and found this to be the best: one of the cheapest out there, but one of their highest recommendations. It cleans easily, almost completely silent, many options, and holds more than our last dishwasher.

This dishwasher is quiet and easy to use. The racks are different than my previous dishwasher so I had to learn a new way of loading my dishes. I often pre-wash or rinse by hand so I am not real sure how it handles dried on food but - I am happy with my BOSCH

Having researched all sorts of dishwashers at the mid-range price point, I had my mind made up on a Bosch. I also read through tons of reviews, and had a lengthy discussion with the salesperson at the store, so felt comfortable with the pros and cons of this model vs. others. The salesperson was incredibly helpful and wanted to make sure we understood the difference in how the Bosch operates vs. other brands -- since it dries via condensation and not a heating element, if you open the unit right after the cycle is finished, yes, the dishes will not be totally dry. This is not a big deal to me; I just wait to unload. I am completely satisfied with how the Bosch operates and cleans; while I would never put dishes in it that hadn't at least been scraped and rinsed, the Bosch has already saved me tons of time -- I no longer feel I have to prewash everything, like with the 30-year-old dishwasher the Bosch replaced, and with the adjustable tines, I can now wash most of my pots and pans. The only "feature" of the Bosch that puzzles me is having to manually turn it off when the cycle is finished. I would prefer that it automatically cut off, because this seems like it could waste electricity. However, this is a very minor nit in the grand scheme of things. Oh -- one other thing -- this dang dishwasher really is just as quiet as claimed! LIke others, I have literally had to put my ear to the front to hear it running.

Best dishwasher I’ve ever had. Bosch can get pretty pricy on the high end, but I bought this one - I can’t even imagine how the higher-end washers could top this!!! Super quiet and cleans immaculate! Easy to use. Time of wash - So look… we leave it on the standard setting and runtime is 2:20. Big whup. Dishes are clean and dry. This is also the most efficient ‘rack design’, upper and lower, ever … so much so that I feel I can get more dishes in than any previous brand I’ve own. I’ve gone through my share of dishwashers in 50 years b/c I bought cheap - the inexpensive of the name brands. Bosch is different and the REAL DEAL. I’ll be sticking with them for any other appliance needs I can!

Unbelievably quiet; run it twice so far on normal setting with sanitize and it cleans the dishes beautifully and leaves them drier than my old Kitchen Aid with a heating element. I highly recommend this dishwasher to anyone looking for quiet and efficient dishwasher. The cycle is much longer than the old Kitchen Aid, but the quiet more than makes up for it.

I had this model in our previous home, and when we moved I hoped the existing one would soon expire. It did, and the only issue we had was the door wouldn't stay closed. Apparently they're shipped with a protective seal around the door, which when removed will remedy the problem with the door not staying closed. The first photo shows the seal, the second has the seal removed.

    Terrific Open Box Buy!!!

I had wanted a Bosch 5 years ago but got sold on a Jennaire by a Sears rep. Liked it for the 3rd rack but it only worked right for the 1st 6 months and got steadily worse over the course of time. It had a food grinder/auto disposal but no matter how many times I had it serviced after the warranty ran out, it never really got my dishes clean. I lived with but wasn't happy. So when I went to replace it, I wanted the Bosch but it was so expensive and hubby felt that the last dishwasher did not last long enough to merit the expense. However, I found this as an Open Box Buy at $350 and snapped it up. It is top rated by consumer reports and, WOW, clean dishes!! It is simple, not over engineered, and seems small compared to the Jennaire but, WOW, clean dishes!! This has "real" buttons on the front and a count down timer display (the Jennaire had hidden controls on the top of the door) but it is incredibly, amazingly, stupenously quiet and, WOW, best of all, SPOTLESSLY CLEAN DISHES!! So far, I love, love, love the appliance. One Warning!! The installation contractors sent by Best Buy (not Geek Squad) were rude, ignorant and could not perform the installion in one trip or without extra fees beyond the installation kit sold by the store. Hire your own plumber. You will save time and money by just having the diswasher delivered.

First, installation was great. Installer was ready and anticipated problems having faced many situations like ours before (Modular home). Machine is quiet and we have not had any problems with getting all our dishes clean. Controls are easy to use and understand, was a bit worried when written instructions seemed a bit brief but no problems.

I have been using my new Bosch dishwasher about a month now and I absolutely love, love it. Controls easy to set. plenty of room for dishes and silverware. Everything comes out sparkling clean. Dishwasher is super quiet and I love that it has a setting for china. I am a private chef so I not only cook for families but I am an avid home cook as well so my dish washer is really important. The Bosch is one of the best I have ever used. Love it.

When looking for a dishwasher to replace our Hotpoint (the GE discount brand) we wanted to hold the price to around $600. Consumer Reports gave very good evaluations to the entire Ascenta series, Bosch's lowest cost line. What is the difference between a $600 dishwasher, a $1000 one or a $1600 one? Would we regret not spending more money? As some negative reviewers have mentioned, the tops of glasses and cups do not come out completely dry. This is even when you use the Sanitize setting and a rinse agent. However, they are dry enough and a quick blotting with a dishtowel finishes the job. Clearly not worth hundreds of dollars more. The lower rack has a single pair of wheels in the front and sometimes gets caught in the space between the body and the door. We had the same problem with the Hotpoint. The solution is to make sure the door is completely down. [The Bosch's door locks in the down position, while the Hotpoint's had to held down or it would pop up.] That will minimize any mishaps. Yes, you can get a dishwasher with three pairs of wheels in the front of the rack, but again, to us it was not worth hundreds of dollars. Finally, some have complained about the noise level. It is very quiet. Quiet enough to easily listen to TV in the next room with no distraction. Totally silent dishwashers are available, but I am not sure why that would be necessary.

This is a good dishwasher, and at the sale price it was a very good value. It cleans dishes well, and it is quiet. You can barely hear any noise. My main issue is that dishes are still wet even after they have been sitting in the washer over night (we run it overnight), especially plastic dishes. The manual and other reviewers have said as long as you use a good rinse agent this should not happen, but we keep it full of the recommended rinse agent and it is always the case. The plus side of no heating element for drying is lower electric costs - that is a plus. Also kinda strange that it has a separate on/off and start buttons, not bad thing just different. Consumer reports say it only uses 3 gal of water for the entire cycle - that is another plus. The stainless steel coverplate catches all fingerprints big time, really hard to clean them.

Yes it may hold a 14 place setting but, you have to own the exact place setting that Bosch used for the photo in order to fit. The rack tines are very close together. It makes it hard to put in large things, like mixing bowls, serving items etc. Some tines fold down but only a few. Drying is not as good as the old one ( no heated dry). It is very quiet. It is easy to program.
