Decent Machine But a Mechanical Issue

I purchased this dishwasher in July 2015. It has done a great job of cleaning dishes and is very quiet. However, I did have a problem with the dishwasher routinely shutting down in the middle of cycles. This was due to a failure of the door to stay securely latched during the cycle. Once the door opens even slightly, the machine suspends the cycle, and it resumes once the door is securely latched. That problem increased to the point where I was dealing constantly with interrupted cycles. Pushing the door closed again solved the problem, but was inconvenient, especially when starting a wash late at night and finding the machine in the morning with unfinished washing. Fortunately this problem appears to have been solved by a repair under the one-year warranty. A metal brace was added to the top of the machine to help minimize flexing and detachment of the latch during the cycle. In addition, the repair serviceman installed a shim between the counter top and the top of the machine to help ensure the door's proper closure and to prevent unwanted detachment of the latch. This problem, according to my online reviews and discussion with the repairman happens periodically. I do hope the problem is permanently solved.

    It's a Dishwasher

It's a dishwasher and it washes dishes. So far, it is doing its job just fine. Some things I like about it: - The top shelf is height adjustable. I've got some water bottles that didn't quite fit in my old dishwasher, requiring me to prop them at a slight angle to fit. With the top rack lowered in the Bosch, they stand up and fit perfectly. - Somewhat quiet. What I don't like: - The tines, especially on the lower rack, are way too tightly packed. If you only use plates or shallow bowls you'll be fine. However, I still have not found a good way to organize our deeper 'cereal' bowls and get more than 2 or 3 in at a time, which wastes a lot of room. - The front 'kick plate' looks like it's from a different model, as the holes do not line up with the mounting holes on the dishwasher. Not to mention the fact that the screws that are supposed to hold it on appear to be the wrong size (too small). So, my real answer to 'I would recommend this to a friend' would be "Meh!" I ordered it online (so didn't look at it in person), and my wife was dead set on getting a Bosch. Had I known about the lower rack situation I would have looked at other models to see if they were different. If not, probably would have ended up purchasing this one; if so, may have considered a different Bosch model.

Not a great washer for home user

OK! Fairly enough! I am still giving a fair review on this washer! Why only fair is my approx.. word ? We bought this unit 4 wks ago from Best Buy, We've washed our dishes almost every night . All I can tell you.Compare to our previous GE Profile 2003, This dish washer is performing much much quiet & its stainless looking. That's all! Yes! Bosch's silence system is top gear.. Washing result is clean, However Dish capacity is too small, dish rock is too narrow to each other-. Exterior- looks fine w. clock digital timing control.-but, the problem. It won't shut off automatically. You would have to watch it when it done and use your hand to turn it off. The Interior is stainless, on front, RH & LF. except the bottom board.- which made by plastic at gray color, it looks mismatch for the entire image. But this is not all! The BIGGEST PROBLEM IS DRYING! I hate the heating cycle system. My dishes never get dry, never & ever! The worst thing you 'll see are water steams everywhere inside. It doesn't matter which wash feature you use. dishes never get DRY...! & finally end up to use tower or paper to clean up these steam. Also, it always smell bad. after wash complete.(smell as water steam, stainless and soap mixed up..) Regret that, On this kind of budget expense, we should buy Kitchen Aid or Samsung.! just too late...!

    Installation Ruined the experience

First of all, let me say that I love this dishwasher. Although it is not their most quiet model, it is whisper quiet and does an awesome job of cleaning the dishes. The last cycle on this machine is "Half Load", whereas a very similar model selling for the same price at a very well know home improvement store carries this model with a last cycle (far right position on panel) of "Rinse and Hold". "Rinse and Hold" might be better for a family, while "Half Load" might be better for a single person or a couple. The reason I did not give a better rating is the installation. After paying BEST BUY for the cord and hose kit, the installer charged me $60 for a hose with a different size connection at the supply valve. He said my hookup was "non-standard" and then set me up for the sting by telling me I might not get my dishwasher installed, and of course my old one was already out the door. When I saw the supply hose I was paying $60 for I knew I had been set up. I did not even need the cord from the set, which they kept. BUYER BEWARE of installation.

Specifically went to Best buy to purchase Bosch for their good reputation (Bosch's, that is - not BB's). Within 3 weeks of installation this dishwasher broke. Specifically, the latch that holds the door shut broke. This is an important feature to have working in an appliance that fills up with spraying water inside one's house, as it prevents water from exiting the appliance. In this case, you cant run the dishwasher without the door latched shut. So, they eventually brought me another one. very surprised that the Bosch brand is built this flimsily, but maybe this was an anomaly and the replacement will last a decade or more. i sure hope so. The install guys said they have seen this a lot with this particular model. The store manager, when i told him this, said "Oh, we don't talk with the install guys". So, you are selling a product, hiring a subcontractor to install it, and have absolutely no knowledge of what the call-back issues are? This is a strange business model. Anyway, cant rate it higher until i see if it passed the test of time, by which point no one will be reading this post, so I ask you, reader of this post: What is the point in all of this ratings game anyway?

Straight out of the box we had problems - there was a dent in the dishwasher. It was missing pieces - we had to go to the hardware store before finishing the installation. The stainless steel - yeah, that's just a stainless steel "look" - you can push the front right in with your hands while wiping the front clean. It's really flimsy. After installing we took off the protective film from the front - it also took off the "o", "s" and "c" lettering in "Bosch" on the front. It runs okay and was quiet for the first few weeks.....but now it's not so quiet anymore. The configuration of the racks is really unusual - hard to fit as many dishes in there as my old dishwasher. It does get the dishes clean - I like that. But the plastic dishes are never dry. Overall, I'm not real happy with my choice. But the dishes are clean now and that wasn't happening with the old dishwasher......

Quiet, good cleaner, hard to load

This machine does a nice job cleaning the dishes. It is also quiet. In fact I keep looking at the digital timer to make sure it is actually running. It has two problems: 1.) It's hard to load. The diagram in the manual shows a neat arrangement of dishes. The problem is, they must have used miniature dishes because using real-world dishes it doesn't load like that. The prong-rows inside are too close together and it's hard to find a way to put stuff in that doesn't rattle around when the machine is running. Hopefully we'll get experienced as time goes by and it will become easier. 2.) The bottom basket does not have track it's entire travel distance. When you pull it out, unless you are extremely careful, it falls off the track and dumps stuff all over inside the rack (see 1. above). The problem is the track inside ends before the door track starts and as a result it's not on a track for a short distance of travel, and tends to fall off unless you're very careful. Hopefully, we'll get used to this also eventually.

This Bosch made in the USA dishwasher is a rather nice unit made to a price point, and it shows. The tub is not entirely stainless steel, the bottom of the tub is plastic, and there is no heating element or food particle disposer, but rather a double screen filter that requires periodic cleaning. The plastic part of the tub allows for some water thrashing sound to come thru, nothing loud like an all plastic tub, but not very quite. The bigger problem with this unit was the lack of the drying element. If you live in a hot and humid area of the US like I do (South Florida) the inside of your dishwasher will never dry and you will eventually get mildew and smells. You need to open your dishwasher as soon as it is done, and let the dishes air dry on the racks. Not a problem for some people, but not a long term solution either. I was sorry to see it go back to the store.

2012 and dishwashers don't dry dishes?

Our GE dishwasher stopped working suddenly, so we decided to go with a Bosch due to the raves about how quiet it runs. This is probably the only "rave" that came to fruition for us. The dishes-and the whole dishwasher for that matter-are soaking wet after they finish the dry cycle. I kept thinking I did something wrong, so I read through the manual and discovered the manufacturer practically requires you to use a rinse aid in addition to the regular detergent. I really don't like the idea of using more chemicals on the dishes, as I'm sure most progressive individuals would agree. Why would you have to use a chemical to assist the appliance in doing what it should do on it's own? I had an old GE that would dry the dishes effectively. Furthermore, the dish racks are poorly designed. You really can't fit as many dishes (top rack especially) as you should be able to. I even tried to arrange the dishes according to the manual, and it really doesn't work. I'm not sure what size dishes they tried to use in this dishwasher during production, but it is not practical at all. I will be returning it asap.

We purchased this to replace a Kenmore Ultra-Wash. Here's what we like and don't love. LIKE: - dishes come out clean.. we did a test where we intentionally put in dishes with caked-on food on plates and utensils. Both came out *completely clean*... WOW! and dry. - quiet -- it's pretty darned quiet. Not "silent", but I'm pleased with its levels - controls and options are adequate for our needs DON'T LOVE: - *long* cycle time of over 2 hours for a normal wash - door is very stiff.. have to use more effort than I'd like to open and close it, and literally have to push it down (once open) to open it all the way - door latch is very tight, and have to give it a strong tug (yank) to open the door. There doesn't appear to be a handle mechanism to squeeze and open.. just friction holding it shut. (if that's not the case, then my handle must be broken!)

We decided to buy this dishwasher because of its reviews on how quiet it is and how well it cleans dishes. I agree with the first one...it is super quiet and is a jewel comparing to the last dishwasher we had. BUT....1) despite adding that stuff for dry dishes, despite sanitizing option on all the time, the dishes are not dry even 2 hours after the cycle is done so I decided to always do them at nite and open it wide once done...they do dry till morning. I just think a $600 dishwasher should do its job (I should have read reviews properly though) 2) it takes forever, regular cycle with sanitizing: 2hrs 20mins. way too long. when I tried quick wash, the results were not satisfactory 3) I think it's our water problem but no glasses come out clean. I may be wrong but I had much better results with dishes in the old super loud one So overall...just good. it's pretty and quiet but those 3 upper cons don't do the justice, especially not to the price of it.

Cleans well but impossible to load

I am satisfied with the actual "work" of the dishwasher -- it is quiet, and the dishes are clean when we're done, that's all fine. But the rack system is very poorly designed and it is a pain to load - I wonder sometimes if the dishes are so clean because you simply can't fit as many in there as in my old KitchenAid. The guidebook has multiple photos on how to load the washer, which you'll see include only your standard set of dishes -- as long as all you want to wash is plates, saucers, mugs, cereal bowls and some glasses, you'll be fine and the photos will be a big help. However you can forget about trying to include casserole or serving dishes, or pyrex glass food containers, etc. without having a ton of wasted space. VERY inflexible to load. I wish I had thought to see if my old KitchenAid racks would fit in this dishwasher before they trucked it away.

It is quiet running but very flimsy material and thin. The handle is not a latch type so you have to pull it fairly hard to get it to open and you better have the dishwasher screwed down and attached well or the whole thing will move trying to open it.Guess I was used to my other that had a push latch to pop it open and not one you have to pull to open. The racks can come out easily and the bottom one isn't attached at all.The upper cant take a lot of weight either and the rollers have popped off twice now in just a week.Would I but another one of these for the money.No. It does seem to wash well but the quality just doesnt seem to be there for the money.ill be lucky if it last 2 years.everything except the coil windings are made of plastic so I guess I shouldn't expect to much..

Read a lot of great reviews about this product. Decided to buy it due to fitting in my budget. It's a nice looking dishwasher however it doesn't clean completely. Dishes and what not leave water spots even though we are using the recommended dish washer cleaner for it. Another thing that is odd is that the bottom rack constantly comes off its rails . When you pull it out it falls off railings and you have to realign it so it can motion through smoothly. There is not that seems to hold the wheels in place. It's quiet which is probably one of the top things I can say about it along with it's looks on the outside.. I'm let down due to the high ratings this model received. It's not bad for the price but the reviews gave me higher expectations.

This dishwasher does work quietly, and the dishes are clean. However, they do stay fairly wet. This doesn't bother me as much as it bothers my kids who usually put the dishes away. What does bother me is how the bottom rack always comes off the rollers when I pull it out. It's impossible to load the dishes without pulling the bottom rack out, yet every time I pull on it I have to readjust it back on to the track. If I had known this was an issue I would not have purchased this dishwasher. The sound of the rack coming off of the track reminds me of cheap dollar store toys. Weird I know, but that's what comes to mind. Bosch is supposed to be one of the best, but I never had this issue with cheaper dishwashers.

Dishwasher works ok, but disappointed that nowhere was it noted that this model DOES NOT have a heating element for drying. Will be fighting mold possibility for the longevity of this machine. Also difficult to load with my dishes. It seems to be built for fine china and stemware. Not for regular ceramic plates and coffee mugs. Price was fair, not great. Had to avoid one particular pushy salesman on the floor. Not only pushy, but did not know product. I would recommend that anyone contemplating a dishwasher today, bring your dishes to the store to see if the tines give you enough space. Have to run more often than previous machine because of fit (loading ) problems.

Cleans well, better than my old one, but of course it should. I DO NOT like the way the tines are arranged in BOTH racks. It is an ODD set up. Have tried different ways to load plates and glasses. Both have trouble fitting in the normal area for both. The plates take up too much room in the bottom rack, not leaving space for other items, have to rearrange several times. The glasses and cups try to fall over and bowls lay down flat taking up too much room in the top. I am kind of disappointed in such a name brand appliance with such a poor layout in the interior.

It's working fine and cleans quite well, but I have a couple of gripes on the look and control: 1) The top part of face plate where the buttons and display are is made of a dull silver satin plastic material, which looks cheap to me. I would probably have chosen the white model (less expensive) instead if I had seen it in person. 2) There's no clear indicator or display to tell me whether the cycle has started or ended. Given that the machine is quiet (which is a good thing), it sometimes takes some guesswork to see if I've pressed the right buttons and have properly started it.

This dishwasher is definitely smaller than my last one. It is difficult to load because everything goes in a specific place. The silverware goes into a divided space but sometimes the silverware does not get clean. I am doing a lot more pre-washing. I was reading the troubleshooting guide because dishes were not clean. The first line says to be sure that it is hooked up to a hot water pipe. This is hooked up to cold. (I guess Best Buy didn't read the installation guide) I suppose this could be why it does not live up to the advertising. But it also says it has great flow through heater for the water. It is just not wonderful.

This is a plain dishwasher. That serves a purpose, when your replacing one in a rental property or home your selling. IF you want a Real dishwasher with features like heat dry, steam, 3rd rack, and other upgrades. Spend the extra money and get a nice one. My Average rating is Nothing against the brand or quality. Just that my belief is basic dishwashers (in general) should be much less expensive. Recommending this to a friend would based on price & need. I would tell a "friend" to spend more and get a much better trim level regardless of brand.
