Coming from a higher end GE Profile. I had heard raves about these dishwashers fom close friends and Consumer Reports. It does clean dishes VERY well. While it may be slighlty quieter, the cycles take long (AUTO is 2 hours! @@@@@@@ so the total noise the unit puts out is more than my GE. The interior seems smaller and the racks less flexible than the GE - meaning I'm doing more loads. I'm satisfied - just thought it would be MUCH better than my GE. Just hope it does not break - heard they are VERY expensive to fix...

    Solid entry-level Bosch dishwasher

Have had this Bosch dishwasher for a year now, and overall pleased with it. Does a good job cleaning; I grew up rinsing dishes before placing them in the machine, so this is what I continue to do. Door is sealed VERY well - so well that after maybe five days of not running the machine a moldy smell starts and mold even sometimes forms on dirty dishes! This is my fault, as I only run the dishwasher once every 7-10 days; running it once a week OR using the rinse-and-hold feature between longer-spaced runs solves the issue. Utensils sometimes don't come completely clean, and my thicker dishes can be tricky to fit in the racks. Fairly quiet, although the reviewers who say they can't hear it at all are nuts. :D Find that Method and Cascade tabs work as well as the recommended Finish ones. I'm being kinda nitpicky; overall this dishwasher is a winner.

I purchased this dishwasher from Best Buy, in large part based on the positive reviews. Unfortunately, after it was installed, I realized that the wheels on the bottom rack are not spaced properly, which causes the entire rack to come off track. The gap between the tub and the door is too large for the span between the wheels. I checked with Best Buy and showed them how their display unit had exactly the same issue. He told me that I was supposed to "pull up on the rack when you pull it out." I showed him that none of the other models had this same issue, but he was unconcerned. Since I am out of my return window, Best Buy told me that my only recourse is to take it up with Bosch. Save yourself a huge headache and don't buy this dishwasher! At this point, ai am frustrated with Bosch for a poor design, and disappointed in Best Buy for their lack of halp with a solution.

This dishwasher works pretty well. It's quiet and it cleans the dishes really well. It's takes quite a while to complete a cyclemail, which is fine I can be patient. The only thing that drives me up a wall is the bottom rack. It's constantly falling off the track. This doesn't happen at random, it's every time. I would give this dishwasher 4 to 5 stars but that bottom rack makes me want to chuck it into the backyard and take a bat to it. Lucky for the dishwasher, I don't easily give into these impulses. Hope this is helpful.

Overall. we read a number of reviews on dishwashers before we made this purchase. We had a problem in our area with hard water which with our previous dishwasher left glasses with tons of spots. We thought our only solution was a much more expensive dishwasher - such as a Miele that have dispenser inside the machine for "dishwasher salt". We are very pleased to see that this Bosch - which does not have a "dishwasher salt" dispenser has been able to stop the spots on our glasses and silverware. It also has a stainless steel interior which keeps it smelling much better and with little need to run a cleaning cycle. This Bosch however does not have the 3rd rack for silverware so the silverware holder does take up more room. However, if you have a large load of dishes, you can remove the silverware basket for additional space. This Bosch does have the adjustable shelves - so you can increase the height for taller stem ware.

I expected better quality for this washer. The racks are thin and poorly coated. The utensil tray is adequate but cheap compared to our old Kitchenaid. There is no adjustment to the upper tray to accomodate tall items. The tub is only lined with a stainless shell., not solid . The pump motor is small. Cleaning is adequate although some cycles are way too long, even the normal cyale is almost 2 hours. If it lasts for 5 years, I'd be surprised. Either buy the more expensive models or get another brand.

Read a lot of great reviews about this product. Decided to buy it due to fitting in my budget. It's a nice looking dishwasher however it doesn't clean completely. Dishes and what not leave water spots even though we are using the recommended dish washer cleaner for it. Another thing that is odd is that the bottom rack constantly comes off its rails . When you pull it out it falls off railings and you have to realign it so it can motion through smoothly. There is not that seems to hold the wheels in place. It's quiet which is probably one of the top things I can say about it along with it's looks on the outside. . I'm let down due to the high ratings this model received. It's not bad for the price but the reviews gave me higher expectations.

The washer is very quiet. That is the only thing I like. The stainless front streaked within the first week and I have never been able to get the streaks out; I didn't clean it with anything harsh either. Looks awful. I dont like the loading, very hard to load pots, serving dishes and cereal bowls in the bottom rack. tines are to close. I have found it leaving residue on dishes also, and I rinse before putting them in, may be the detergent pods I am using. Came with many pages of instructions on how to load your silverware, which cracked me up. Like we need instructions on how to put forks, knives and spoons in a basket. Also didn't come with wide enough side blockers only about a 1/4 in on each side so I have a big space next to it.

I chose this dishwasher based on the Consumer Report's rating. It is made in America which appeals to me and the price was right. I was replacing a Kenmore that I have had for about 15 years. It still ran, but deposited a brown goo around the door that I found concerning. I could get more dishes loaded in my Kenmore than I can in the Bosch. The arrangement of the tines on the top and bottom racks are angled and I am having difficulty getting very many dishes loaded. Since I live alone now it is not a major problem but I do have to run it up more frequently. It will be a problem during the holidays or other special occasions. I like having the different wash cycles--especially the heavy, delicate and express washes as extras. It is a very nice looking dishwasher and looks great in my kitchen, which I have been updating.

This is a good quality machine. It runs quiet but for long wash time (2 hours sometimes. @@@@@@@ It had 2 problems immediately. One was the door did not close properly and the other is the soap dispenser did not close properly. Both problems were fixed quickly by warranty service. I feel that the racks and rollers could be better. When the top rack is full and heavy it is hard to open due to sagging possibly caused by high heat. It goes back to normal when it cools and is emptied. Consumer Reports rates this #1! I do recommend that you give this serious consideration if you are in the market for a dishwasher.

If had known Bosch dishwashers don't dry completely, I never would have purchased one. If you don't use the "sanitize" button and use Jet Dry, your wash comes out dripping wet. Even when you do use these, it never fully dries and always smells like an old wet sponge. I try to leave it open overnight to air dry, but it still smells. For the record, it's not convenient to leave the dishwasher door open since I have a galley kitchen and it becomes an obstacle course and a tripping hazard. I also have two curious dogs I want to keep out of it. Also, it's impossible to tell how much Jet Dry is in there, because the dispenser is opaque and the liquid disappears in there, so you just have to trust the indicator light after you turn the machine on. My old 26 year old GE dishwasher at least had a clear plastic dispenser so you could see if you're filling it properly. The only way you can tell if you've filled it's when the access liquid squirts out the side, as if it has a leak, then you've wasted that much Jet Dry. The only good thing is that it's quiet. But not worth the stinky smell. Also, we use a lot of fairly deep, 3", bowls and they don't really fit well in the racks. Even in the Operating Instructions as well as a YouTube video I found, bowls seem to be an afterthought, something to squeeze in around everything else.

    Bosch Ascenta 24" D/W

I bought the Bosch after giving up on a high-end Samsung that required at least an annual repair of some kind. Everything I read about this Ascenta was positive ... it had 4.5 stars everywhere. It was on sale at Best Buy and delivery was free. But wait, there was a catch. When the installers arrived they informed me that Bosch REQUIRED a hard connect outlet for the dishwasher, something the salesman at the Mesquite, TX store failed to mention. So I had to fork over $125.00 for that which added considerably to the cost of the unit. . I'm not crazy about the tongs arrangement on the top or bottom rack. It just seems awkward the way you have to load the dishes. But on the full length cycle (a little over 2 hours) the machine cleans very well. And while it wasn't the quietest decibel-wise, it is a very quiet machine. Have only used it a few times, but so far so good. By the way, while Bosch may be a German brand the dishwasher is made in the US. Which after my experience with Samsung is probably a good thing.

This is an excellent machine for cleaning dishes. I never really believed that you could put dishes into the dishwasher with hardened food, so I tried it out. I did scrape off anything that came right off, the rest really did come clean in the wash. I can't give it 5 stars however, due to the same problem stated by others. The rack design is not good at all. The top rack is ok, not as good as it could be, but the bottom is really not good at all. If there are a lot of items of different sizes, bowls, pots and pans, etc . , you will find that 2 washes are probably needed. The 14 place settings that the manufacturer says you can load only holds true if it is only flat plates that you are using. I still give 4 stars as the machine is extremely quiet and does clean so well. If you aren't used to a digital control, read the manual to be sure of proper operation as it can be confusing at first. I have already recommended this to 2 others who have bought and are happy with it.

Overall we are happy with this machine. It really cleans the dishes much better than our old Maytag did and that was about 12 years old. The racks on that one were rusted and tines were falling off. I was assured by Best Buy that that will not happen on this new one...we'll see. The cost was higher than we expected to pay but after using it for a month and seeing how much better this one is at cleaning and not being able to hear it work (very quiet) we agree it was worth it. One thing we noticed is that we are running this one more often. It doesn't hold as many dishes as the old one, but again if they come out cleaner it is worth it. One nice feature is that the top rack has adjustable height and yes we do use that even though I was sceptical at first. Controls are simple to use. We just set it on autowash and when it senses the dishes are clean it stops. A typical cycle takes about two hours. Our old machine had a heated dry and this one doesn't but it really doesn't leave much water on the dishes anyway so we are happy about that.

2012 and dishwashers don't dry dishes?

Our GE dishwasher stopped working suddenly, so we decided to go with a Bosch due to the raves about how quiet it runs. This is probably the only "rave" that came to fruition for us. The dishes-and the whole dishwasher for that matter-are soaking wet after they finish the dry cycle. I kept thinking I did something wrong, so I read through the manual and discovered the manufacturer practically requires you to use a rinse aid in addition to the regular detergent. I really don't like the idea of using more chemicals on the dishes, as I'm sure most progressive individuals would agree. Why would you have to use a chemical to assist the appliance in doing what it should do on it's own? I had an old GE that would dry the dishes effectively. Furthermore, the dish racks are poorly designed. You really can't fit as many dishes (top rack especially) as you should be able to. I even tried to arrange the dishes according to the manual, and it really doesn't work. I'm not sure what size dishes they tried to use in this dishwasher during production, but it's not practical at all. I will be returning it asap.

The reason I'm giving this dishwasher only 4 stars is because of a longterm E-01 error code problem, common among Bosch dishwashers. Don't "always" go by the official definition on the Bosch website for the E-01 code. Apparently this code is more common than not, per the number of You-tube videos on how to fix the error. The fix is using a shop Vac to suck-out the water and help remove any build up in the drain hose. That's it! I've done it many times and so far, it's worked. Other than that, it's still the top rated DW on the market. Easy to maintain, (with that trick) The bottom rack is still the strangest thing I've seen, sometimes leaving wasted space, but given the fact that it does a great job with my dishes, glasses, pots, pans and silverware... I've no issues and would buy again. My belief is that the drain hose simply collects everything the filter misses and the pump just can't always push it threw. The shop vac treatment is a God send. It's running right now! LOL All dishwashers eventually have issues, but it's nice if you can fix them yourself. Also, it's very quiet. Almost relaxing. @@@@@@@@ Wierd) Hope this helped.

This machine does a nice job cleaning the dishes. It's also quiet. In fact I keep looking at the digital timer to make sure it's actually running. It has two problems: 1. @@@@@@@ It's hard to load. The diagram in the manual shows a neat arrangement of dishes. The problem is, they must have used miniature dishes because using real-world dishes it doesn't load like that. The prong-rows inside are too close together and it's hard to find a way to put stuff in that doesn't rattle around when the machine is running. Hopefully we'll get experienced as time goes by and it will become easier. 2. @@@@@@@ The bottom basket doesn't have track it's entire travel distance. When you pull it out, unless you're extremely careful, it falls off the track and dumps stuff all over inside the rack (see 1. above). The problem is the track inside ends before the door track starts and as a result it's not on a track for a short distance of travel, and tends to fall off unless you're very careful. Hopefully, we'll get used to this also eventually.

    I Like This Dishwasher

The model number I bought is SHE3AR75UC/21. This was my first time doing my own installation of a dishwasher. I'll say, I hope it's a long time before I have to do so again. To me, none of the electric nor water fitting locations either on the Maytag I was pulling out, nor the Bosch I was putting in seemed to be sensible nor user friendly. It wasn't that they were hard to attach, just that they were in hard to reach locations. But the alternative was to pay out for installation, which would have meant I couldn't afford a new dishwasher. I did my research beforehand. This particular Bosch model is in Consumer Reports top 5 listing of dishwashers, for its ability to clean and it's features, but to me, most importantly, for it's longevity. My previous dishwasher was an upper end Maytag that crapped out after 13 moths. And, now, all dishwashers are made by just a few companies. Basically Whirlpool, GE for American companies, and then you have your international companies like Bosch and Samsung and Fisher Paykel. This led me to believe that all the durability faults with my Maytag would carry over into just about any American brand I bought, be it Amana, Kitchenaid, Kenmore, etc. since they are all Whirlpool made. But, even though Bosch has good reviews (per Consumer Reports) for it's longevity, let's just say, once bitten twice shy. I did follow through this time and purchased a 5 year extended warranty! On to my review of how this dishwasher works. I am very pleased with how well it cleans! It has no problems removing dried on foods! And it does so in a short period of time. It would take my Maytag 4+ hours on auto setting to do half the job this Bosch does in just 2 hours! Be forewarned though, it does not have a drying feature. I am alright with this, the heat from the wash gets the dishes about 90% dry, and then it's just stuff in the top rack, ie: coffee mugs, that seem to have any moisture residue on the top. If I open the door after it's done cleaning, but before it cools down and allow the moisture/steam to escape that will allow everything to dry. I am not seeing any issues with spots on my dishes. I do use the rinsing agent as recommended by manufacturer. It's super quiet! If it weren't for the count-down timer counting down, I would sometimes question whether it's really running or not! As will all new dishwashers, you have to learn how to properly load it, with the dishes and cookware that you have. What you have likely is not what the manufacture used in it's loading guide! It's misleading, in the description it says it can hold 12 place settings. That may be, if you own thin, Corelle type dishes. But, if you are washing bulky dishes, like my Fiesta plates and bowls, then you need to probably half that. I line my plates every other space on the bottom rack, otherwise, they are so thick they nearly touch each other and there's no room for water to get at them and clean them. But, I think is the case with all dishwashers. Theoretically they are all the same size inside. You just have to learn to load for what works best for your dishes. On the top and bottom rack you have the ability to fold down one row of the tines, to allow for hard to fit items. It also, on the top rack, has a fold down ledge that you can place long cooking utensils, like ladles and such for cleaning. I like that feature! This particular model came with one long silverware holder/basket. Other models come with two separate half length baskets. Personally, don't like the long basket. I rarely have that much silverware to wash, and the extra length to the basket takes up space that could be used better by a pot or large bowl. I did go on line to the manufacture and purchased the half length baskets, and like this much better. I find I can load pretty large things in the bottom rack with out compromising the movement of the sprayer arms. One fault I find with the lower rack is that it's easy to knock off it's ledge. Not a problem if the rack is empty to get it back into position, but for me, it always seems to do it when I have it loaded down, and it's a bit more challenging to get it back into alignment. I don't see this as that big of a problem, what I need to learn to do is not pull the bottom rack out all the way! ;) Think that's it. If I remember, I'll come back in a few months or so and give an update!

Washer has excellent variety of wash cycles, including a sanitize cycle and shows time remaining. Cleans dishes and glasses very well. Very quiet. Even though outside dimensions are same as my old KitchenAid, inside is smaller. Top rack holds 2 fewer cups or glasses in each outside row. Bottom rack makes up for this partly by tighter spaces for dishes - holds just as many dishes but cleans them better. Wide spaces in bottom rack are too wide, bowls fall over, waste space. Silver ware rack is fine, but holds less. If you overfill detergent dispenser by 2 grains you cannot close it, but I quickly adjusted. Light comes on when rinse aid is empty - very nice. Door hinges are stiff and push door closed - cannot hold door open just a couple of inches, which is necessary after cycle is over to release steam, since no heated drying. I have to pull top drawer out a bit to hold door open. Door is hard to pull open, and will close with a bang if you are not careful - will be hard on latch over time. Over all very satisfied. Smaller interior space is a disappointment.

I did a lot of research and read numerous reviews on dishwashers. It seems that many people have lots of problems with them breaking down. Bosch has a low repair rate so I hope it will give many years of good service. This dishwasher is very quiet and it does clean the dishes well, but it does have very long cycles. If you are going to need all your dishes clean for a big meal, wash them the night before because the Auto and Normal cycles are 2 1/2 hours long. I do like the digital display that counts down the remaining cycle time. I saw others that have a smooth front with no controls showing, but I like the buttons and indicators easily seen. If you want a smooth finish, then his dishwasher is not for you. I wish I had gotten a washer with the utensil baskets on the door or in the front of the bottom rack, it gets aggravating to have to pull the whole rack out to put in one or two utensils since it usually takes 2 or 3 days to fill up the washer. The door is quite stiff to open, but that keeps it from landing hard if you let go...it stays where you let go and you actually have to push it down flat. The fold down rack tines are good, but some things still do not fit just as I would like them. The plate and bowl tines on the bottom rack look odd because they slant backward and do not stand upright as other dishwashers do. However, the dishes fit in perfectly between the slanted tines. This is the first dishwasher I've had that has a manual clean filter. I do not clean it after every load and it usually does not have much food in it and I do not do much pre-rinsing of my dishes. The top rack can be lowered, but I've not needed to do that yet and that will only work if you do not have tall items on the bottom rack because you lose the bottom height by lowering the top. I was able to get a few more of my odd dishes into my previous dishwashers, but I can usually work them in somehow in the Bosch. I think it's a very nice dishwasher, and it serves me well. I'm sure there are better ones with a few more bells and whistles, but this ones is good enough for me.
