very quiet dishwasher and does a great job of washing dishes. Main dislike is that the controls are hard to get use to compare to traditional dishwashers.

It's a very quiet unit cleans very well. The controls are a bit odd to me, it does not have any indication power is on when you start the unit or when it's running.

Super quiet and sanitation. 7 grandkids, what could be better. Controls on top where grandkids can't reach.

Great dishwasher. Very quiet and does a great job in getting all the dishes clean. The only issue we have found is that its too quiet and with the controls hidden on the top of the door its hard to tell when its running and we have opened many times while it was running.

Overall, pretty happy with the dishwasher. Our only real complaint is the control buttoms feel a little cheap and more so the end of cycle alarm. The Dishwasher beeps until it's turned off.

For the price this is a solid dishwasher. It does a good job, and is pretty quiet. The main negative is that the buttons and status indicator lights are on the top of the door, so are not visible when the door is closed. That means you do not visually know the status of the washer without opening the door and potentially interrupting a cycle.

Bought because of the reviews, happy so far. I like the performance and how quiet it is. Not a big fan of not seing the controls without opening the door. Overall I'm happy I purchased it!

This dishwasher was highly recommended by Consumer Reports. Setup was great and the washer works great. It is very quiet, but not as quiet as my previous washer. The wash finish light is at the top with the controls and in a position difficult to see.

The machine gets the dishes clean-- but the controls are confusing and the dishes do not get dry-especially plastics. My main issue is that when the machine is loaded w dirty dishes and waiting to run, it smells! Never had this problem w a dish machine! It may be worth the extra cost to buy a higher end Bosch or different manufacturer. I bought based on CR review and am disappointed.

I have used this dishwasher 4 or 5 times since it was delivered. It does a nice job with cleaning but unfortunately everything is still very wet when the cycle finally ends. I have tried using the highest heated dry setting but that doesn't seem to make much difference. One other minor complaint: some of the controls are not intuitive. Until you memorize the various button sequences, you'll need the manual to remember how to change some of the settings.

    Best dishwasher we've ever had

This is our 3rd dishwasher since 1999. The one that came with the house was a GE profile, which had numerous problems but mostly control panel breakdowns. The replacement was a Maytag, which was noisy and experienced hardware breakdowns quickly. This Bosch Ascenta is amazingly quiet and performs great. The only knock is that its smaller racks don't accommodate pots and pans as well.

This dishwasher is extremely quiet. It cleans dishes much better than the 10 year old one we replaced. It is also more water efficient. We chose the tall version to be able to better fit large pots. and it worked out perfectly. It has the controls on the top of the door, so it is not easy to ell when it is running, so we have accidentally opened it while it is running.

We bought this to replace an approximately 10 year old Bosch that came with the house. This was seems to clean better. The racks seem a little harder to load with bowls and other oddly-shaped items. Dishes seem to dry a little better than in the old one, but I still would trade a few dB of noise for a vent to let out the moisture. The controls a little confusing. You have to turn on the washer, then push "Start" to get it running. We forget that all the time. The only indication that the washer has been started is a single light that goes from blinking to steady (or vice versa? @@@@@@@ . We forget to turn it on at least once a week.

Door does not latch due to fatal structural issue

This washer is very good at washing dishes and is VERY quiet, however there is a fatal flaw that required us to replace the unit. The door latch simply did not work. The door would pop open slightly during cycles, just enough to turn the unit off. Combined with the extremely quiet operation, you never knew if the unit is on or off. Eventually we had to prop the door closed with a chair. With the internal controls we could not tell if the unit was on or off or if a cycle was completed without opening the door. This design flaw may be due to an attempt by Bosch to reduce costs by using a plastic structural frame rather than metal. Bosch customer service was pretty good about resolving the issue. They sent a repairman to install a stiffener bar to address the door latch issue (apparently this was not a unique issue and Bosch had a fix, but it was unsuccessful on our case). After that failed repair attempt, Bosch agreed to replace the unit. We chose to upgrade to a different unit to avoid the same problem. We also chose a unit with controls that are not hidden so we can monitor cycle progress. If this was a car, it would have been recalled. As it is just a dish washer it is up to the consumer to resolve with them.
