Had heard Bosch had great dishwashers and based on reviews here made the purchase and have had buyers remorse since. The dishwasher is tested in the facility and then packed up. Based on the dates included with the packaging water has been sitting inside the machine for two months since manufacturing. The horrible smell when opening the door from day one has yet to subside. There were puddles on my floor when installing. I'm all for testing the product, but shouldn't you allow it to dry before packaging and shipping to a customer.. This dishwasher smells foul when empty, it's not food I've left in there. It has smelled from day one. I've used the extra dry button and still the back of the dishwasher is wet, as well as the door at the end of a cycle. I'm using the recommended products, as well as a drying agent. I have made sure the drain line has a high loop so I'm not getting sewer gas. My previous dishwasher of 18 years was installed the same way and never smelled. It is a very quiet unit but that is the best I can say about my Bosch. The smell has overshadowed any other features on this dishwasher. Unfortunately, I missed the 15 day return policy as my husband was out of town and the until couldn't be installed immediately after purchase. Before taking the leap, I would search for Bosch dishwasher smell. I really wanted to love this dishwasher, but have been very unhappy.

This dishwasher is so silent! Love the third rack at the top, o can cram so many dishes in this thing and they come out spotless. I didn’t use different cycles on my old dishwasher but I’m loving the different cycles depending on what I’m washing. The speed60 cycle is fabulous when I’ve pre washed a lot of the dishes. No complaints! I’m so happy and it holds up really well!

Seems to wash very well and is super quiet. About half the time it is smelly when I open it after washing and the dishes also smell.

I’ve had this dishwasher for about four months now and absolutely love all of the features. I rarely use the silverware basket but rather fill the 3rd rack. It is so quiet the first few times I used it I had to put my ear up to it see if it was running! Dishes always come clean. I love being able to choose the cycles and appreciate the versatility of the different racks.

There are some good features, but some of them are hard to get used to. Overall it is very good and soooo quiet that I cannot tell if it is on. The silverware basket is cumbersome and you have to put the silverware in it so that the spoon or fork etc. part is sticking up, but knives are OK. So when you unload it you are touching the part that goes into your mouth, which I find not too sanitary. However, if you don't use the top doohicky you can put them in the other way. The third or very top shelf is great for putting utensils, bigger knives, and even smaller dishes. The operating panel takes some learning how to set it and using all of the nifty features. I still refer to the manual. The dish racks are sometimes difficult to figure out how to put the items in. For instance a cereal bowl does not 'nest' very well in the second rack. The tines are closer together than what I am used to, but allow for more dishes, which is good. The cup for the detergent is awkward to me. There is a nasty smell when it is new even after running it. I believe it is from the dish racks and what they are made of. I have noticed that it seems to be going away the more I use it so I hope it goes away completely. Others have complained about the drying and it isn't any different than what I had before so it just is physics. Overall I love all the extra features and am hopeful it will be reliable and last for a long time.

I’ve bought this same dishwasher to go in 2 previous houses because after buying the first one I was extremely impressed at how quiet it was and how well it cleaned the dishes. I absolutely love the third rack up top that we can put things like Tupperware lids where they don’t take up space in the other racks.

The Bosch is very very quiet. In fact, if it didn't have lights on to let us know that it was running, we wouldn't know it was going. The dishes come out clean and dry. We're following the directions, which indicate that you need to use a rinse aid such as Jet Dry. The 3rd rack is very convenient and I would recommend opting for a unit that includes it.

Four stars/Good only because we haven't had it very long. We're still training ourselves on how to best use the rack tine arrangements (old habits die hard), and we can't yet assess long-term reliability. - It cleans well. It's very pretty :_> - The 3rd rack flatware tray is useful. - At 44dB it's literally whisper quiet: only the drain gurgle is plainly audible. - The supply tube for the upper spray arm somewhat reduces the amount of useful space in the upper rack. - Closing the detergent dispenser is a bit finicky. We are concerned that the latch will wear and eventually fail to close. - Recessed front mount buttons suit us well. Top-mount would be awkward. - The stainless interior, while necessary for corrosion resistance and more durable than an enamel finish, does make it darker inside than a light-color finish would be when the racks are fully inserted. Consider the optional interior lights. - If you don't need the stemware organizer on the top rack it consumes otherwise-useful space. It does not fold out of the way very well, and it takes some prying to remove. - The debris filter is very easy to access and clean. - Go to the Bosch website and download the full user's manual, 41 pages for the English language section. It is far more informative than the quick start guide that comes with the unit. If there is no electrical outlet within reach of the unit you will need either (1) the optional Bosch powercord with junction box (assuming that there was an old hard-wired dishwasher in the same location the installers should be able to install this), or (2) have an outlet installed before the unit is installed (DIY, or hire an electrician). BEFORE INSTALLATION, go to the Bosch website and download the installation guide. Review the installation guide before the installers arrive. When the unit arrives and before installation starts, inspect the finish closely to find any dents or scratches including looking at it from near the floor. Scratches low on the door may not be obvious when viewed from above. TAKE PICTURES. Watch the installers and make sure that they do these things correctly: - Move the attached drain hose if necessary to match the location of your existing drain plumbing. As it comes from the factory the drain hose is threaded through a retaining loop on the left side of the unit. If the drain hose is threaded through the wrong side, the hose might kink, the unneeded turnback may prevent the unit from fitting all the way back into your cabinetry, and the drain hose may not reach your drain plumbing. It takes about 8 seconds to move the drain hose to the right side retaining loop if needed, so there is no excuse for not doing it correctly. - Install the drain hose with the required rise of 33" above the floor between the unit and your drain plumbing. This is needed to prevent backflow from your drain plumbing back into the unit. Again, no excuses. General remarks on modern dishwashers - We would happily trade increased water usage for shorter run times. - Rinse aid helps drying and reduces spotting. Consider a non-toxic "green" rinse aid. DON'T make your own using vinegar or alcohol; these could damage components in any manufacturer's unit.

This special Dishwasher offers both quiet operation and quality performance. All the people who complained about a odor from the internals are correct, BUT it is not anything but a minor issue. The overwhelming value and performance of the appliance minimizes the diminimus issue regarding the odor and it disappeared to a negligible level.

This is a great dishwasher and the best value for money. It is the second 300-series dishwasher we own. This one seems a bit more "sturdy" compared to our the first, purchased two years ago. Both have great capacity, are super quiet, clean and dry extremely well.

I bought the Bosch 300 series 6 months ago, and installed it myself. No problems with the installation and no problems at all since, which is NOT something I could say for its lousy Kenmore predecessor. The dishes come out far cleaner than any of my prior dishwashers. I've seen reviews saying that dishes don't get dry, and true, there are wet spots but that's true for any other dishwasher. When I actually read the instructions and follow them, I get dry dishes. The only smell I've noticed from the dishwasher (which I let air dry when we're going to be away for a few days) is the smell of the drying aid. This dishwasher has been quiet and excellent. I like the front-side controls, which lets me know at a glance what's going on. My previous dishwasher had the hidden controls and that caused a lot of problems--both lack of visibility and also with moisture getting into the system. The only con for the Bosch is that it's a smaller dishwasher than my Kenmore, but realistically it's fine. When we've got a full house we just end up doing more loads, but for a family of 3 or 4 it's been just fine. So far, I've got nothing but good things to say about this one.

I had an older version of this model, but found the newer works just as well. Does an excellent job of cleaning, the 3rd rack adds to the versatility of loading. It also is very quiet. I was able to install the dishwasher with the assistance of youtube videos.

Easy to install, quiet, cleans great, but has one huge problem. We wash dishes often, so dishwashers get replaced every 4-5 years and have tried them all. As with anything new it takes a while to get familiar with it. Well my wife and I have tried to load this dishwasher every way possible and both have decided that the racks are not designed for a mix of dishes, glasses, pots, pans... What would be one load in all other dishwashers, turns in to two in this one. Whoever designed this never used it. If it wasn’t so much trouble to return, that is what we would be doing.

This Bosch dishwasher is super quiet. It has a one hour cycle that includes drying. The dishes come out squeaky clean. I very much appreciate the third flat rack at the top. You can put oversized utensils like spatulas, large knives, and serving forks and spoons.

Pros: Adjustable middle rack, Stainless steel interior, 3rd rack for flatware, well spaced tines with foldable tines on bottom rack to add space, intuitive controls, does a fine job of washing dishes. Cons: No dishwasher without a heating unit will ever dry dishes thoroughly. Any lip on cups, plastic container rims, etc that can hold water will still have water at the end of the wash. This dishwasher was designed to be run regularly so if I don't run it after 2-3 days, there's a funky smell that emanates from it. The filter compartment gets filled with water that's not always clear so I'm leery of leaving my house for a few days for fear of what smells and bacteria will be waiting for me on my return. Given this, I'm on the fence about recommending this unit. If you plan to run it every day or every other day, then by all means go for it.

This model Bosch dishwasher is excellent. The delivery & install worked fine and the washer cycles are working fine. Once you figure out how to lay the silverware in the top wash drawer, it becomes easier to take in & out after washing, than using the bucket containers below. Also, the 1-hour wash does a credible job in a shorter time period. It is an ultra quite machine. This is our second Bosch dishwasher. The first one had to be left at my other home that we sold. Once a Bosch owner, the others won't do the job.

I guess it's great dishwasher for others. We had this Bosh installed on April 10 of this year. After 3 weeks it stoped working.E15 was flushing on a control panel. I contacted Best Buy and they will send a technician to evaluate the problem. To late for an exchange unfortunately. 14 days only. The fact itself is very disappointing. With a name like BOSH?

Washes extremely well, very quite, but no heated dry. The upside is plastic won't melt, but overall not as dry when I go to unload. Top rack has multiple positions easy to find the perfect height to fit everything, tons of space, gets more dishes in.
