Customers enjoy the 300 Series dishwasher's quiet operation and excellent cleaning performance, finding it easy to load and appreciating the extra capacity offered by the third rack. However, some customers reported issues with a lingering odor, longer than average wash cycles, and occasional installation challenges. A small number of users also experienced problems with the dishwasher's reliability and heating element.

This dishwasher replaced a 29 YO Whirlpool, so we're loving the quiet of this new machine! Not seeing the drying problem that many reviews complained about. I was a little concerned about that before purchasing. We usually just run it on Auto and Extra Dry and everything comes out dry and clean, other than some small plasticware in the middle rack, but that's to be expected. Love the third rack too. It's really nice to have somewhere to put large utensils and small items. One negative is that it starts to smell a little bit after a few days of the dirty items sitting inside, even when we rinse the big food particles off first. This may be because it seems to hold a lot more than our old one did, so we don't have to run it as often. Also the racks don't roll as smoothly as our old machine, but not a big deal. Overall, very pleased with our purchase...looks great and cleans great.

I bought this Bosch after my 7 year old Whirlpool started falling apart & leaking with the hope that it will last long enough to be worth the expense -- so many brands (Whirlpool, Kitchen Aid, Kenmore, etc.) are made by the same manufacturer, the problems carry over between machines. Extensive research led me to switching to Bosch as the best in dishwashers; I've had it for a month and so far have been completely pleased with it's performance. Some reviewers had complained about a hot plastic smell when the machine is first used; that is true, but I didn't find it overwhelming, it doesn't come off on the dishes, and it fades over time. Others have complained about dishes (especially plastic) not drying; plastic won't retain the heat from the hot water, so plastic items may stay wet, but the ceramic & glass will dry just fine as long as you leave the door shut for a bit when a wash is completed. (Plastic items often stayed wet with my Whirlpool too, even with a heated dry cycle.) The Pros: it cleans well, it's very quiet, and the 3rd rack is very useful for my large knives/utensils as well as very small items. The adjustable 2nd rack height allows for flexibility in my washing needs. The "energy saver" wash setting takes an hour less than it did on my old Whirlpool. The pocket handle version of this model that I originally wanted would have taken an extra month to deliver, so I had to settle for this version of the 300 series; I don't love the front location of the controls or the brightness of the digital display on this model, but I do like seeing how much time remains on the cycle. All in all it does what I need it to do. The Cons: my biggest concern is that the plastic parts (particularly the top rack and the height adjustment levers on the 2nd rack) are very flimsy. The installer actually warned me to be gentle, and never to adjust the height of the 2nd rack if the dishes & glasses were already loaded, saying "they're only plastic." Too much strength sliding the 3rd rack out will pull it right off the tracks. For me it's not a deal-breaker as I'm not rough on my appliances, but I won't be having my teenage son load & unload for me. Other than that the only "con" is that it doesn't seem to hold quite as much as my old Whirlpool did (the silverware basket can be taken out completely, but can't be mounted on the door to make more rack space). Time will tell how the parts hold up over time and regular use. With my Whirlpool, the rubber and plastic began to break down within 5 years and by 7 it was falling apart. My hope is that I can get at least a decade out of the Bosch.

Incredibly quiet. Cleans everything w/o any pre-rinsing. The extra shelf is perfect for small shallow bowls and other hard to fit items. Wish it had a heated dry cycle but that is a small thing.

We upgraded to a newer model Bosch from a previous Bosch and are happy with the changes. The added third drawer for the larger utensils is huge. Still super quite and cleans great. My wife is happy which makes me happy as well.

Custom power connections, a weird system for balancing it up and down (plastic feet you lever with a screw driver that immediately get stripped) makes the installation a pain. Washer itself is great. I really don't understand why models exist above this one, this does everything I could need. The main reason i'm leaving a review is to correct the wrong information i found in other reviews. THIS WASHER DOES NOT COME WITH WATER HOSE, OR WATER HOSE CONNECTOR PIECES. It used a different connector than my previous washer. Order a connection kit in advance.

LOVE this dishwasher. So grateful that we managed to get one during a time where, due to covid, appliances are not readily available. It meets our expectations and works beautifully. As with any new item, there's a few glitches and learning curves. Love the third rack. Priceless. The flip down piece that's supposed to be used for stemware, not so useful. Doesn't fit most glasses and ends up a bit in the way. Very quiet. Can hit the stat button any time and it won't drown out a conversation. Would be nice if the lights all went out when it was done running instead of always having to hit the "off" button, but it's a small detail. Overall, it's great.

In our 48 years of marriage, we've never owned a dishwasher. We recently renovated our kitchen and added a dishwasher. I checked with my niece who is an interior designer who suggested Bosch and Wirecutter which recommended this model. Good advice from both. We've had it 6 weeks now and are very satisfied with our purchase. The dishwasher is quiet and cleans very well. The interior design is very flexible with a variety of ways to configure it, giving a lot of options in loading it. It easily accepts half-sheet pans and a 6-qt soup pot. There are just the two of and we generally can go 3 days between washes but it's very nice to have the half-load option if we need to run it sooner.

I've heard lots of great things about Bosch so I was excited to try this new baby out. There is a 3rd rack feature, first time I've had it. Sometimes I have to take it out to fill tall glasses on the 2nd rack. I've only had this for less than a month. I found it difficult to figure out the best way to fill compared to my old GE. I guess my old GE was more user friendly in that way where putting dishes in was a piece of cake. With all the feature of this Bosch it takes me a while to get in the same amount of dishes as before. My first try it seemed to be crystal clear dishes that came out. Second try I found some stains, so I will need to try it out longer than a month to see the big differences in cleaning. The major plus is I love the way it looks with my stainless steel appliances that are all different brands.

Two issues: 1. Best Buy insists on selling you a electrical plug saying it is required. It is not as this unit comes with a cord. One end is designed to attach to the unit the other is a standard plug. If you are going from the unit into an electrical box to be hardwired then the Best Buy cord would be needed. 2. At completion of install when the door was opened it had water beads all over. I called, was told after testing they probably forgot to dry. As everyone has stated very quiet. Every wash ultimate clean with the items so hot you need to let them cool before handling. Down side long run times which I think can be modified.

The dishwasher is really quiet and a big change from our old noisy GE dishwasher. Cleans well even on the quick 60 min cycle. There is generally no problem with ceremic plates or metal utensils coming our dry (even without jet dry) but plastic cups and bowls are a bit wet. It doesn't bother us too much and we simply either leave the door open to let the plastic cups dry or take them out on the dryng rack. Putting on the "D1" setting for extra dry does help.

    Wet smelly dishwasher

Based on all the reviews, I had very high hopes for this dishwasher. It does wash very well and is very quiet. However, it does not dry. On the first load, the walls of the dishwasher were wet. Which I didn’t know, because it was about two days later that I emptied the clean dishes out. I had to rewash them, to no avail. Dishwasher walls still very wet. I had to towel dry the dishwasher walls and leave the door open for at least an hour. I read the manual, but no answers. I finally found a blog on line that said to press the sensitized and extra dry buttons and it will help. Yes, it finally worked, but that is not energy efficient. Additionally, if I don’t wash the dishes in 3 days the dishwasher smells awful. I’ve never had that issue with any other dishwasher. It’s just me so I usually wash the dishes once a week. I do rinse the dishes before putting them in to see if that will help with the smell. I spent a $1000 on this smelly wet dishwasher. I’m very disappointed. I’ve only used this washer 3 times so I know it’s not the filter.

Bosch dishwashers are great for a quiet, effective clean. My only complaint would be the cycle is very long and the drying mode does not work all that well, but that is par for the course with any modern dishwasher.
